THOUGHTS since I CAN NOT TO ITALICS are in <>'s

~

Tara sat in her room reading a book for her geometry class as she wondered what her ex-lover was up to. She was having a hard time concentrating; it was as if something was throbbing in her head. She stood up from the chair and walked over to the bathroom to take some Advil when her eyes fell on a picture of her and Willow.

Tara closed her eyes, she could feel the pain in her heart, and she did what she had to do. She hoped Willow was doing better, because all she wanted was to be with her beloved again.

“Oh Willow I miss you so much.” Tara said quietly.

She looked down at the phone and thought maybe I should check up on everyone and call Dawnie. < Maybe I could talk to Willow.> She picked up the phone and dialed Buffy’s number waiting for an answer.

Dawn looked up for a second then back down at the book she was reading for homework. She lifted up her hand slowly and answered it.

“Hello?”

“Hey Dawnie!” Tara said as she grabbed for her geometry book once more.

“Hey Tara. What’s up?” Dawn put a bookmark on the page she was on and closed the book so she could have more attention to the phone and to the person she was talking to.

“Nothing really, H-how is everyone?”

“Everyone is okay.” she replied, but there was doubt in her voice was she answered Tara’s question. She felt bad for lying to Tara, but could she tell the truth?

Buffy walked in after a good night of working at the Double Meat Palace. Placing her brown purse on the table she walked into the living room to find Dawn talking on the phone. She mouthed to Dawn when she looked over at her “who is it?”

Dawn mouthed back to Buffy “Tara”. A concerned look crossed Buffy’s face when she read her younger sister’s lips. Walking into the kitchen she grabbed some things and put them on a tray and walked upstairs to her best friend’s room.

“I have to go.” Dawn said quickly as she looked up the stairs.

“Okay… well bye then.” Tara said a bit confused. Normally Dawn liked to stay on the phone and talk to her, but not tonight. She knew then that something was up.

“Bye.” Dawn hung up the phone. She couldn’t believe what she did. Everything was going wrong and she could not tell Tara.

**

Willow was upstairs in her room. Her skin was as pale as a ghost as she just sat there. Doing nothing. Not like she could anyway after the news she just heard. As a cough escaped her throat she covered her mouth, not wanting anyone to catch what she had, but then again this wasn’t contagious.

Buffy made her way inside her best friend’s room carrying a tray filled with food, medicine and a drink. The slayer put the tray on the redhead’s bed, and walked carefully over to Willow who was facing the window.

“Who was on the phone?” asked a curious redhead, she had heard the phone ring and often she would want to know who it was.

“Dawn was on the phone with Tara.” Buffy said hesitantly. She wasn’t sure if it was the right thing to say to the sick redhead, who was stressed as it is, and didn’t want to burden her any more.

“Tara? As in Tara Maclay…or someone else?” Willow said quickly, turning her head so she was partially looking at Buffy, her green orbs slightly misted, praying to the Goddess that Dawn didn’t tell Tara. The least thing she wanted was Tara worrying about her.

The only people that knew about Willow being sick was, Xander, Anya, Dawn and Buffy. Knowing Dawn though, if she told she would have come inside the room and apologized for telling. That hadn’t happened yet, so most likely she did not tell. The radio was on, but it could not be heard clearly since the volume was really low. Music was something that now entertained the redhead. Turning up the volume she listened to the song.

When I think back on these times

And the dreams we left behind

I’ll be glad 'cos I was blessed to get

To have you in my life

When I look back on these days

I’ll look and see your face

You were right there for me

In my dreams I’ll always see your soul above the sky

In my heart, there always be a place for you for all my life

I’ll keep a part of you with me

And everywhere I am, there you’ll be

Well you showed me how it feels

To feel the sky within my reach

And I always will remember all

The strength you gave to me

Your love made me make it through

Oh, I owe so much to you

You were right there for me

I n my dreams I’ll always see your soul above the sky

In my heart, there always be a place for you for all my life

I’ll keep a part of you with me

And everywhere I am, there you’ll be

' Cos I always saw in you

My light, my strength

And I want to thank you now for all the ways

You were right there for me, you were right there for me

For always

In my dreams I’ll always see your soul above the sky

In my heart, there always be a place for you for all my life

I’ll keep a part of you with me

And everywhere I am, there you’ll be

*

After the song ended, a warm tear trickled down Willows face. This song was very touching to her and it played with her emotions.

“Can we play this song if I… you know…”

“You won’t!” Buffy cut her off sharply.

“I h-have to tell Tara…” Willow said softly as she turned herself to face Buffy completely.

“Alright, but Willow please listen to me. I don’t want you telling her while you are in bed and all sicky. I mean yeah you’re sick but… I mean like if you go out and talk with her you could tell her. That’d be best.”

Willow nodded slowly, now all the redhead had to do was figure out a way to tell Tara without having a nervous breakdown. Sighing softly she grabbed a note pad and started scribbling down some notes.

TBC

I hope you liked it.. if you dont tell me! But dont be to harsh now :)

Anya was leaning against a table in The Magic Box. She was staring at a new customer who just came in wearing a t-shirt that seemed devilish to Anya.

“That girl is the devil you know.” The vengeance demon pointed at the girl who just entered.

“Now, Anya, it’s rude to call someone the devil and it is rude to point.” Xander said quietly as he grabbed her finger and pulled it down to where her hands were hanging at her sides.

“No, not the girl! The person on her t-shirt. Oh what’s her name again? Oh yeah her names like Britney Spears. She sings that one song…” Anya stopped to think for a moment then she snapped her fingers. “I’m a slave for you! I don’t think she has had enough sex in her life…”

“Oh, her.” Xander said, a tint of hate in his voice. To him, Britney Spears was more of a Barbie doll than a hot woman.

“I’m going to go teach that girl about Britney Spears and how awful she is..” Anya stated as she walked away from the counter and over to the young girl.

“Hey, kid!” Anya yelled as she walked over to the young girl who seemed to stop when she was called a kid.

“What?” The young girl replied folding her arms across her chest.

“You know that girl on your t-shirt, she’s the devil! You shouldn’t be going around wearing things that have the devil on them.”

The young girl looked very annoyed as she rolled her eyes. No wonder none of her friends came here, the store was run by a weirdo who obviously must have escaped the mental institution. Turning around and placing the thing she was going to buy back, she left the Magic Box, the little bell ringing the same old ring it always had.

“Hey! You didn’t buy anything! I need money here! It’s quite important!” Anya said, a pout forming on her lips as she faced Xander. “Well, that was rude.”

Xander slapped his forehead. He was annoyed with Anya but he decided not to say anything. Folding his arms across his chest he looked over at Anya.

“Do you like Bugs Bunny?” Xander asked as if he didn’t know Anya was afraid of bunnies.

“Oh! No Bunnies! We need to run Xander! Hide! Away from those beasts!” Anya said fear appearing in her eyes. Ever so often glancing around to make sure no bunnies were going to pop up and get them.

“Okay, it’s all a case of likes. Now we need to have some focus. We need to talk about Willow, I’ve been thinking about her a lot lately.”

“Yeah, me too. I hope she doesn’t die.” The ex-vengeance demon said while putting away the money in the cash register. “Do you think she will?”

“I really don’t know Ahn, but I really hope she doesn’t. She’s been my best friend all my life, and I would do anything for her. I’d die for her. If I could, I would even be the one who is sick. She’s been through so much.” Xander said thoughtfully as he glanced over at his fiancé.

“What about me? Would you do that for me?” Anya asked.

“Yes, I would.” He said. Walking over to Anya he placed his arms around her and looked down at the cash register.

**

Willow sat on the examination table at her doctors office. Her green eyes were locked on the doctor and filled with the fear that there really was something wrong with her. They were filled with hope that maybe they just assumed she had this disease.

Dr. Kimberly H. Brant looked at Willow’s records with a frown. She was saddened with the results she would have to give her patient. Her brown eyes looked at Willow for a moment then back down at her paperwork.

“I’m sorry Ms. Rosenberg, but you do have what we expected.” The doctor said as she flipped through her files.

“A-are you sure? B-because it c-c-c” Willow was unable to finish her sentence, warn tears trickled down her cheeks. Her green eyes looked up at the doctor.

“This is all just a dream! I’ll soon wake up and then none of this will have happened! That’s it, I’ll wake up soon, in my bed!” Willow said, she was in complete denial about what she had.

“I’m afraid this isn’t a dream.”

Willow closed her eyes tightly and sighed to herself. This was not fair!

“So, I have…”

“Yes, you have Leukemia.”

The red head looked as if she were going to faint, but she didn’t. She looked at her hands that were in her lap and she sighed. Her day wasn’t going well, on the way to the office, Anya had told her not to die because that would be bad and Xander would be sad. She didn’t like a sad Xander. It sure didn’t put any support for her that just made her feel worse.< All my fault, it’s all my fault. I did this to myself. It’s my punishment. All my fault.>

“How’d you get here?” Kimberly asked.

“I got here with Xander… who is at the shop with Anya.” Willow explained.

“Well, you were the last person I was going to see today. So why don’t I give you a ride home and save your boyfriend the trip…”

“Oh… Xander isn’t my boyfriend, he’s just a friend of mine.” Willow said quickly. She was going to tell Kimberly that she had a girlfriend but she quickly changed her mind with that.

“Oh, sorry.”

“It’s okay. About the ride, sure… thanks.”

Willow sighed to herself. She felt a little weak, she carefully got off the examination table and walked to the door. Her hand was still shaking a bit and she was still crying. She turned the knob so the door was open then she closed it. She then followed Kimberly out to her car.

Kimberly opened the car door for Willow. She then closed it and went to the other side to get in as well. Starting the car, she backed up slowly. As she drove Willow home, her brown eyes showed how unhappy she was that the redhead had this sickness.

“There it is…” Willow said, as the car pulled to a stop she looked over at Kimberly and flashed her a sorrowful smile. “Thanks for the ride.”

Kimberly smiled back and nodded. “No problem.”

Willow started to get out of the car. Her hand shaking slightly when she pushed to unbuckle her seat belt. Stepping out onto the concrete, she gave a slight wave to Kimberly and she turned on her right heel and walked towards the Summers steps.

Walking inside, the red head placed her coat on the coat rack and walked inside the living room. She found Dawn watching “Scooby Doo Where are you?”. Putting up a pretend happy face she sat down next to the young teen and looked at the TV.

“It’s true isn’t it?” The young teen said quietly, turning off the TV she looked over expectantly at the redhead, wanting the truth not some lie. “You can tell me you know. I’m not a kid.”

The red head bit her lip and nodded slowly, tears welling up inside. There was so much pain, she didn’t understand why this was happening to her, she didn’t think it was fair either. Not realizing that she was sobbing she covered her face. Her hands shaking violently because of the emotions playing through her.

The young teen slowly put her arm around her, wanting to cry along with her but knowing she shouldn’t because she should be strong for Willow. She fought back her tears and she slowly rubbed Willows back.

“It’s going to be okay Will, It’s going to be okay.” reassured the Slayer’s sister.

Buffy walked down the stairs, she thought she had heard her best friend enter the home. Opening her mouth to speak, she quickly closed it as she got a glimpse of the living room. She saw her younger sister and the crying red head. Her worse nightmare had come true. She quickly walked away from the living room and walked into the kitchen. Leaning against the wall she closed her eyes preventing her tears from falling.

I do remember reading something like this before, I guess thats were the 'revamped' part comes in :-).

Obviously a high-angst fic, doesn't seem to be a mild form of leukemia either. How is that diagnosed anyway ? It's sort of a civil war inside your body, but that could be caused by dark magic vs. light magic as well. The doctors at SD Hospital wouldn't recognize that... besides I want to cling on to some hope :cry

Given the rapidness with which the sickness seem to be spreading and the effects it already has on Willow I recommend she tell Tara soon. I fail to see why it would be better to tell her in not-sick-looking environment, smells like denial. Didn't Tara's mother die from a form of cancer as well ?

No matter what Willow may think she most definitly doesn't "deserve" to be this sick. Hardly anyone does.

P.S. Please tell this version *will* be finished... pleeeeease.... leaving high-angst fic unfinished is bad for clingy readers like me :) .

I like the idea for this Fic.

This story could go several different ways in my eyes.

If you need some input, I have some ideas about where to take this.

Email me and lemme know. I'd love to help. I'm more of an idea girl then a writer myself.
