Pens Write A Holiday Story
Well that looks garish. Must mean its the holiday season!
Over the years there has been many writers contributing to Pens with their festive tales, however this year, there is (hopefully) going to be many writers contributing to one festive story.
Pens hosts a wide range of writers and styles, what better way to highlight this through collaboration. That's right, it's your Christmas table with waring political views and dietary needs. Some people can make it work, some fight long after the last drop of rose is spilt and others remember to charge their phone for the three hour sit in with stuffing. What outcome will Pens have?
How is this going to work?
Much like the folded drawing game, where you fold a piece of paper in four strips and one person draws the head, one the torso, one the legs and another the feet but they have no idea what each other has drawn until its unfolded at the end. However we will see the story unfold as each addition is added by writers, we just wont know what the story will end up as until we reach the end.
But here's the fun part. We all have different styles and preferences so we can either make a monstrosity of clashing ideas or we could try and get along to create a nice Willow and Tara festive one shot. That's for each contributor to decide.
To keep us in order there are some rules:
- Stick to Pens rules
- No double posting, if you write the previous section you cannot write the next. it can alternate between two people all month but there must be a different writer in between a writers posts.
- Minimum post limit is a sentence, maximum is 280 characters.
- All additions must be posted on this thread
Why 280 characters?
This is because the story will double as a Twitter Fic on the KBs official twitter account. Allowing Pens writers to be seen on a larger platform while still very much representing the values and talent the KB hold.
The story will be open for entries starting 1st December 2022 and close January 1st 2023. in this time we should hopefully have a beginning, middle and end.
There are no limits to how often you can post, only that you cannot double post. There must be a different writer than yourself in between your additions.
What will Pens create? a cynical outlook on the corporate greed of the holidays? A hygge inspired smut fest? or a cheese board of a story that will make even hallmark rethink the limit of cheese one human can handle? Canon? AU? A retelling of the nativity told through Willow and Tara or perhaps their kids? Die Hard? Who knows? We wont until its finished. anything goes (within board rules).
