Let me put it this way, I am straight, but ever since this Willow/Tara thing got started, I wish I was a lesbian ;-)

Xicalan, you could be an honorary lesbian, like the other straight people on the board.

Would that help?:)

Centauri2002 has made me an honorary lesbian and I feel very happy about that.

Is it okay if I don't want to be an honorary lesbian? I just want someone to share my life with the way Tara & Willow have(had?) each other.

Oh indeed it's fine. I think those of us that love w/t do so because it is the kind of love we want in our lives. The fact that they are lesbians is a bonus in that we've never had that before but it's the love that sets them aside as far as I am concerned.

If I had to live my life again, I'd make the same mistakes, only sooner.

Why do we need labels people ? Hasn't organised religion, branding and prejudice done enough harm to earth and her people already?

You don't need a name or to box someone up into a category to get what they are about as a person, Right? :pray

If doing away with labels is going to stop prejudice then that would be very nice but somehow I don't think it will. Just as you are free to choose to not label yourself, I am free to do otherwise, nothing wrong with either option I think. Some people might consider the terms female and male a label. Sometimes we get one stamped on our foreheads whether we want it or not, whether it describes us or not, it can be bothersome, but it can also be a good thing, it can help you to identify with something, it's personal. Labels are not to blame for those who abuse them, or so I like to think.

I have to agree with xita's statement. I'm straight and still want the relationship that W/T have. Yes I said have. J.W. and M.E. may have killed that wonderful relationship but it is still alive here and will always be. :applause

Labels may not be to blame for the abuse that labeled people suffer, but haven't you ever asked yourself why we need them in the first place? Wouldn't the utopia like place most of us would love to live in be more about "live and let live" than find-out-WHAT-they-are-then-decide-whether-they-should-be-allowed-to-live.....?

No dogma here b.t.w, just can't understand the p.o.v. that considers the catagorisation of peoples life choices/styles/preferences to be such an integral part of life, but am always open to hearing opinions....... :)

I think that depends on what your definition of a label is, I don't see it as categorization, to me a label is a word that someone can use to describe themselves or an aspect of themselves, and I don't see a problem with that. The problem is with people who attach a bunch of prejudices to those labels or who force their labels on someone else based on what they think that person is supposed to be. In my ideal world my labels would not cause a big problem.

What I would rather see change is the what most people are taught when they grow up. Usually it comes down to a man loves a woman and a woman loves a man and that is the way it is. It would be nice if they could add, sometimes a man loves a man and a woman loves a woman or both, and sometimes a man is a woman and a woman is a man or both. Just so people would not keel over from shock when they meet someone like that or that that someone does not have to figure it out on their own.
