Note: Dedicated to everyone at the Kitten Board who keep Willow and Tara alive and happy.

Tara sighed and looked at the clock. Three twenty four. Only six minutes till she could leave. She turned and looked out the window, ignoring the teachers’ speech about the upcoming test. School just didn’t interest her anymore. Tara was smart. She knew she could pass all her subjects if she put the effort in, but it just didn’t matter to her any more. Nothing did, not without her mother around.

She was shaken out of her thoughts by the bell ringing. She grabbed her books and walked quickly out the classroom, not bothering to listen to the teacher’s reminder of homework. She made her way to the front of the school, where she knew Faith would be waiting for her. She kept her head down as she walked. No-one paid attention to her, which suited her fine. She hated being the centre of attention. She knew herself how shy she was. Whenever she met someone new, she usually stuttered so badly the person couldn’t understand her. The only people she had ever been herself in front of were Faith and her mother.

She turned the corner and saw Faith. The dark haired girl was wearing leather as usual and very little of it. Tara didn’t understand how Faith could be so confident about herself. Whenever they were out, and Faith saw a guy she liked, she would always make the first move. Tara knew that she would never be brave enough to do something like that.

They were not the sort of people you’d think were best friends. Tara was quiet and shy, and Faith was loud and a bit over-friendly at times. Faiths’ wardrobe was full of tight leather outfits, while Taras’ was full of skirts and peasant tops. Faith’s idea of a good time was going out and getting drunk, whereas Tara’s was staying at home reading or drawing. But they were best friends nonetheless, and always had been.

They both helped each other out too. Tara made sure Faith was up to date on all the classes she skipped, and Faith would always sort out anyone who was mean to Tara or looked at her the wrong way.

Faith turned around and smiled as she saw who had tapped her on the shoulder. “Hey Tara, you have fun in history?” She asked. Tara laughed, “As always,” she said sarcastically.

“You should have come with me.” Faith said to her. Tara sighed and said, “Faith, my dad would go crazy if he found out I was skipping classes.”

Faith turned to her and said, “Tara, you dad goes crazy at you for every little thing you do wrong.” Tara didn’t say anything; she knew her friend was right.

Faith saw the sad looked that appeared on her best friends’ face, and it made her so angry. The only people that Faith couldn’t get to stop being mean to Tara were her father and brother. Although Tara never spoke about it, Faith knew how badly they treated her. There had even been times when Tara had turned up at school with bruises, and had made lame excuses about falling or walking into a door. But Faith knew how they really got there.

Of course, she had tried to stand up to Taras’ father and brother before, but each time neither of them paid any attention to her.

Tara turned to her friend and asked, “So, do you wanna do anything tonight?”

Faith shook her head and replied, “Sorry, I’m stay at home girl. My cousin is arriving tonight.”

“Oh, I thought she wasn’t arriving till next week.” Tara said.

Faith nodded and said, “Me too, but she decided to get an earlier flight. She’s gonna finish the rest of the year here. Her and her parents don’t get on much; mainly because they ignore her, so she’s gonna stay with me and mom.”

They walked in silence for a few more minutes until Faith spoke, “hey, you wanna stay for dinner tonight?”

Tara smiled and said, “are you sure your cousin won’t mind?” Faith shook her head, “Nah, she’ll love you. And before you stat worrying about what your dad will say, you can call him when you get to my house, ok?”

Tara nodded, and they both got into Faiths’ car.

“So, what’s you cousin like exactly?” Tara asked.

Faith smiled, and replied, “Well, I’ve not seen her since that time I visited her in Sunnydale a few years ago, but from what I remember, she’s a lot like you.”

Tara frowned, not really sure what her friend meant, “Like me how?” She asked.

“Well, she’s shy, smart, funny and friendly. Trust me Tara; you’re really gonna like her.” Faith replied.

The car pulled to stop and they both got out and walked into the house.

Faith walked into the kitchen first, and got a shock at who she saw.

“Willow, what are you doing here just now? I thought you weren’t arriving till later!” She said as she rushed forward and hugged her cousin.

“I took the early flight.” Willow replied as she pulled back.

Faith smiled and said excitedly, “There’s someone I want you to meet.” She pulled Willow into the hallway.

“Willow, this is my best friend Tara, Tara this is my cousin Willow.”

Tara stood there, unable to move. She thought.

Willow held out her hand, which Tara gladly shook, and said, “hey Tara, nice to meet you.”

Tara smiled at her shyly and said, “You too Willow.”

They just continued to stare at each other.

< Wow! She’s gorgeous! Ok, why I am thinking that. I’m not supposed to think that. She’s a girl. But oh my god she’s such a beautiful girl. She has the sweetest smile I’ve ever seen. Keep calm, don’t start babbling, and just smile back.> Willow thought to herself.

“Hey Will, where’s my mom?” Faith asked. Willow reluctantly turned her gaze from Tara to Faith and said, “Oh, she had to go to work; she said she’d be back around seven.”

Faith smiled and asked, “So Will, what do you say me and Tara give you the grand tour around Denver.”

Willow smiled and said, “Sure, that’d be great.”

Faith turned Tara and asked, “That ok with you?”

Tara nodded, “absolutely, I’ll have to let my dad know though,” She said.

“Well I’ve got my cell-phone; you could call him from the car if you want.” Willow said.

Tara smiled at her and said, “Thanks Willow.”

< Ok, what’s happening? Why am I so attracted to her? Oz and I only broke up last week, so why am I thinking about her, I should be thinking about him shouldn’t I? But look at her; she’s got the most perfect face and smile. And her hair looks so soft… ok, I’ve really got to stop before I start drooling!> Willow thought.

They all headed out the front door together, Willow and Tara both trying not to get caught staring at each other.

Postby Still Waters T » Sun Aug 03, 2003 7:43 pm

Hey, great start. :D I really like the start of this fic, and I'm looking forward to reading more of it. :bounce I love that Faith, and not Buffy for once, is the main best friend. Is Buffy and Xander, still, Willow's best friends? Will they ever visit Willow in Denver? Cos that would be fun.

Is Tara already gay? Does Faith know this, if she already is? :hmm Will Willow maybe have a positive influence on Tara's grades?

There's lots of potential in this :p and I can't wait for more of this, but I'll be a patient Kitten.:kitty

:tara :love :willow

Beep…Beep…Beep. Tara sighed, and thumped her alarm clock to turn it off, knocking it over. She sighed, annoyed by the loud noise it made as it hit the floor. She hadn’t wanted to have to wake up. She had been dreaming of willow.

Although Tara had only met her yesterday, she knew Willow was special. There was something about her that made Tara smile. Yesterday had been the best day of her life.

Although she had just met Willow, she felt so at ease with her, like she could tell her anything.

Of course, there was one thing she couldn’t tell her, the fact that she had feelings for her. No-one knew that Tara was gay, not even Faith. Tara was sure that the more time she spent with the redhead; the harder it would be not to kiss her, so she had decided to tell Willow soon that she was gay.

She heard her father and brother downstairs, and knew she would have to get up soon to make their breakfast.

She got up, grabbed some clothes, and went into the bathroom to have a quick shower.

Apart from making sure she did her chores, her father never really paid much attention to her. Tara was sure that he had never wanted her.

Donnie, on the other hand, loved nothing more than to tease Tara, and make her feel bad about herself. As she steeped out of the shower, she decided she wasn’t going to waste her time thinking about him.

She decided to think about Willow. Even the name made her smile. Willow was different than anyone Tara had ever met before. She was the kind of person who made you feel special just by looking at you.

Tara never usually looked forward to school, but today was different. Faith had called her last night and told her that Willow was going to finish the rest of her senior year with them. Tara had tried not to sound too excited on the phone, but she couldn’t help herself, and she was sure that Faith knew she had feelings for Willow.

~*~*~*~*~*~*

Willow walked into the kitchen and saw Faith making breakfast.

“Hey Will, excited about your first day?” Faith asked.

Willow nodded slightly, “Not really.” She lied.

Truth was, she was so excited she could hardly wait. She had dreamt of Tara the whole night, and she was desperate to see her again. She was sure Tara didn’t feel the same way about her, so she decided not to tell Faith about her new crush.

“So uh, Faith, does Tara’s boyfriend go to school?” Willow asked casually.

“Well, he was gonna, but then he remembered that he didn’t exist.” Faith said sarcastically.

“Got it.” Willow laughed.

“I don’t know what it is about Tara, I mean, she’s really pretty, but she just doesn’t seem to want a boyfriend. I mean, guys have asked her out before, but she’s always turned them down.” Faith said.

Willow smiled inwardly. She didn’t want to get excited, just because Tara wasn’t into boys didn’t mean she was into girls, but Willow couldn’t help but wonder if she might have a chance with Tara.

Summary: Just a quick poem to describe what Willow is thinking after ‘New Moon Rising’.

I’ll be your forever if you want me too;

I’ll laugh with you and cry with you.

I’ll hold you when you eyes are crying;

And wake with you when the sun is shining.

I’ll do what I can to end all your pain and sorrow,

And though I love you today, I’ll love you more tomorrow.

I want to be your only one,

And spend the rest of our lives together, having fun.

My love for you, you’ll never know,

But I’ll spend the rest of eternity trying to show.

I love you more than I ever thought I should,

And you make me feel like I thought no-one else could.

Your lips are the softest I’ve ever tasted,

And the time that we are apart, I feel is wasted.

You hair is soft and smooth to feel,

Sometimes I think you’re too amazing to be real.

To tell you of your beauty, there’ll never be enough time,

But I’ll still show the whole world that you are only mine.

You make me feel warm and safe,

No-one in this world could ever take your place.

I need you Tara, that I will always know.

Our love will just continue to grow.

Eternity isn’t long enough; but it’ll do,

As long as I spend every moment of it with you.

I love you Tara.

The End.

Summary: Willow and Tara mom’s have been friends since college. Willow and Tara haven’t seen each other for years. Set during the summer between seasons five and six. Buffy didn't die.

Note: Tara’s mom didn’t die. Tara has lived with her mom all her life and they have just moved to Sunnydale from Florida. She doesn’t see her father and brother.

Note: This is an AU story about how Willow and Tara fall in love.

Note: Big thanks to my beat reader, The TexZep

“Mom, do I have to stay?” Tara asked, for the tenth time in six minutes.

Her mother sighed and said, “Sweetie, we’ve been over this. Shelia is my best friend. She’s your godmother and I’m Willow’s godmother, and that makes you god sisters, so yes, you have to stay.”

Tara sighed. The last time she had seen Willow was when she was twelve and Willow was eleven, and Tara hadn’t liked her very much.

“Mom, c’mon, remember the last time she was here? We didn’t get on at all. She doesn’t like me!” Tara almost shouted.

“Honey, she does like you. I spoke to Shelia on the phone this morning, and she said that Willow was very excited about seeing you again.” Her mother said happily.

“But mom, she’s a thief! Last time she was here, she stole my calculator!” Tara shouted.

“Tara, we’ve been over this. She did not steal your calculator. I gave it to her because you never used it.” Her mother replied.

“I was going to use it” Tara said.

“Oh really, when?” Her mother asked.

“Um, right after she left.” Tara replied lamely.

Her mother laughed, kissing her on the forehead before going back into the kitchen to finish making dinner.

~*~*~*~*~*~*

“Mom, do I really have to go?” Willow asked.

“Yes Willow, Erica’s expecting to see you.” Her mother replied.

“But mom, I haven’t seen her in years!” Willow moaned.

Shelia sighed and said, “I know honey, but she’s my best friend and she’s your godmother, and now that her and Tara have moved back to Sunnydale we’re going to be seeing a lot more of them.”

Willow sighed in turn, and said sadly, “But mom, Tara doesn’t like me. She hardly spoke to me that time we visited them in Florida, and she seemed so angry when her mom gave me that calculator.”

“Sweetie, you’re just being paranoid. When I spoke to Erica this morning, she said Tara was very excited about seeing you again.” Her mother said.

Willow smiled slightly and asked, “Really?”

Shelia nodded. “Really, now let’s get going or we’re going to be late.”

Willow smiled, and followed her mother to the car,

~*~*~*~*~*~*

Tara had finished setting the table, and joined her mother in the living room, waiting for Shelia and Willow to arrive.

“Mom, Willow’s at UC Sunnydale right?” Tara asked.

Erica nodded, “Yeah, why sweetie?”

“Well I was thinking of enrolling, maybe I could take the same subjects I was taking in Florida, and I thought I could ask her about what subjects I’m able to take there.”

Erica smiled and said, “That’s great honey, we’ll ask her when she gets here.”

Tara was about to say something else, but was interrupted by the doorbell ringing.

Tara gulped, suddenly feeling nervous, and followed her mom to the front door.

“Shelia, it’s so good to see you again!” Erica said, as she hugged her friend.

Shelia smiled, and pulled back. “You too, Erica.” She replied.

“Hey Willow, how are you?” Erica asked.

Willow smiled at her and replied, “I’m fine thank you Miss Maclay.”.

Erica laughed slightly and said, “Really Willow, call me Erica.”

She turned to her daughter, “Tara, you remember Willow.”

To be continued?

Fic : I need Her

Summary: A different version on Willow’s magical addiction and her and Tara’s relationship.

Note: The story begins at the end of Tabula Rasa.

As Tara walked past the bathroom, on her way downstairs with her first box of clothing, she saw her lover.

She was sitting on the floor, hugging herself, with her knees drawn up at her chest, just like Tara used to sit.

Tara hated seeing her lover like this. She wanted to run over to her and hug her tight, and that everything would be alight, but she couldn’t.

Not now, not after everything. Willow had manipulated her not once, but twice. Tara had been so hurt.

She really believed things were going great, then she found out about the spell Willow had cast to make her forget their fight.

She didn’t understand why. Her lover, her everything, her Willow, had controlled her. Just like her father and brother used to.

Willow had been her whole world, now she couldn’t even trust her.

Tara had actually believed willow would be able to go a week without magic, to save their relationship.

But it hadn’t even been a day when Willow had betrayed her trust again.

And now here she was packing her things away to walk out of the home they shared, to walk out on Willow.

Even after all Willow had done to her, Tara still felt guilty.

Willow acted so mature and strong, like she could handle everything, but now, sitting in the bathroom, she looked like a lost little girl.

Tara wanted to hate Willow; she wanted to be angry with her.

But she couldn’t, she was still her Willow.

And Tara was scared. She was scared because Willow was becoming addicted to magic.

She had chosen it over their relationship. And as much as Tara wanted to, she couldn’t stay.

She couldn’t stay and watch Willow destroy herself, to let her manipulate her again.

So she walked into her room, and carried on packing.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Willow’s face was streaked with tears.

How had she let things get so messed up? How could she have hurt her Tara like that?

Things had been going great up until Halloween.

If only they hadn’t had that stupid fight at the Bronze, things would be fine.

Tara wouldn’t be leaving. The more she said it in head, the harder it was to believe.

Tara was leaving her.

She was really walking out on her. Tara was her world, her home, and now she was leaving.

Tara and Willow were happy, Tara and Willow meant love and happiness.

And now Tara and Willow were no more. Willow could hear her lover crying as she packed her things, and it broke her heart.

She wanted to run into the bedroom, throw her arms around Tara, and tell her how sorry she was.

But she couldn’t, not now. She had been given too many chances, and she had blown them all.

She had been the luckiest person alive. She was with Tara Maclay.

She loved Tara, and Tara loved her back.

Willow had never imagined anyone would love her so much, especially someone like Tara.

Tara was amazing, and she didn’t deserve to be treated the way Willow treated her.

Willow could tell Tara was nearly finished packing by the amount of times she had walked past the bathroom.

Each time Willow had been too afraid to make eye contact.

Scared that if she looked into her lovers’ beautiful blue eyes, they would be filled with anger and hatred.

Willow felt that she couldn’t breath. How was she supposed to live without her lover?

She did love Tara more than magic, but she couldn’t resist the power it gave her.

Soon Tara would walk past for the last time, and leave.

Willow wanted to stop her, but she knew she wouldn’t be able to, so she just continued to stare at the floor and cry for her lover.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Tara had finished packing her final box.

She was taking with her what she needed, and would get the rest later. She was ready to leave, but she couldn’t.

She looked around the room. She had Willow had so many good times in this house, now they would just be memories.

But they were Tara’s memories, and she wasn’t about to stay and let Willow take them away from her.

She picked up her last box and walked out the bedroom.

Summary: A different version on Willow's magical addiction and her and Tara's relationship.

Tara stood at the bathroom door. Her lover was sitting exactly the same way.

Tara cleared her throat and Willow looked up at her.

"I thought you'd already gone." Willow said sadly.

Tara nodded, never breaking eye contact with Willow.

"Yeah, I...I'm going now. I just wanted to..."

Tara stopped, not really knowing what to say. Her heart was breaking.

She didn't want to go. She belonged with Willow, she knew that.

She needed Willow, and she needed magic in her life. But she could handle having both of them, Willow couldn't.

"I'm sorry Tara." Willow said. Tara walked a little further into the bathroom.

"I know you are Willow. But that's just not going to make it better. Not this time."

Willow nodded. "Where are you gonna go?"She asked.

Tara sighed. "Probably Xanders tonight.

Anya said if I ever needed a place to stay I could go there.

Tomorrow, I guess I'll see if there are any available dorms at the university."

"Did you get all your stuff?" Willow asked sadly, retuning her eyes to the floor again.

"No...I...I'll come back tomorrow, sometime."

Tara replied, she could feel tears form in her eyes again.

She never imagined her and Willow would have a conversation like this.

"Do you want me to be here, to help or something?"

Willow asked, not really knowing what she wanted Tara's answer to be.

"I think it's best if you're not. I don't think I'd be able to pack if you were in the same room." Tara replied.

Tara could see the tears run down Willows' cheeks. She walked over to her lover, and knelt down if front of her.

"Willow, I love you. I always will Please don't think otherwise.

I know you probably think I don't want you anymore, but I do. I want you more than anything in the world.

Problem is, you want magic more than anything in the world."

Willow tried to interrupt her, but Tara silenced her by putting a finger to her lips.

"It's true Willow. I know you think you were helping people, but the more you helped, the further we drifted apart.

You're a very talented witch Willow, and I get that you want to use your magic all the time, but you can't.

Magic needs to respected, not played with."

"I know I hurt you Tara, but that's not why I kept doing the magic. I did just want to help.

I know you think I can¡¦t handle it, but I can!¡¨

"No Willow, you can't. I asked you to go one week, and you didn't even last a day.

One week without magic to save our relationship and instead you did the very same thing that ruined it in the first place. You tried to control me.

Willow, that fight we had at the Bronze would have been forgotten about by now.

I was just angry, but I would have forgiven you.

I don't understand why you had to change things.

Why would you want to be with someone who said and did exactly what you wanted huh?

That's what you did. You made me act exactly like you wanted me to, and not like myself.

And that's what hurt me the most. I grew up believing I was nothing, and that nobody wanted me the way I was.

But that changed when I met you. You loved me for me, and who I was.

But you ruined that when you cast the spell on me.

You changed me to be the way you wanted me, and that's why I have to go."

"But...but if I changed, if I learnt to respect magic, you'd come back right?" Willow asked hopefully.

She wasn't able to argue over what Tara had just said to her, because she knew her lover was right.

"I'll come back when I believe that you won't ever do something like this to me again."Tara said.

"Willow, I can¡¦t make you do something, but I can tell you what I want you to do.

I think you should really try to cut down on magic.

If I can't convince you, hopefully someone else can. You're using darker and darker magicks, and it's not good for you.

You don't need to fix everything. No-one needs to be perfect.

I love you for who you are Willow, not what you're able to do.

I know you think that without magic, we never would have met, but I don't believe that.

We were destined to meet, to be together.

If one of us hadn't gone to the Wicca group, we would have met some other way.

I should have said something earlier, I know that. But I didn't want you to think I was trying to decide what was best for you.

But I love you Willow.

Your life means more to me than my own, and if I stayed, you'd never have a reason to give up dark magic, cause I'd always be there to tell you it was alright, and that what you were doing to yourself didn't matter.

So that's another reason why I have to leave.

Maybe you'll think I'm being selfish for saying this, but I can't stay and watch you destroy yourself.

I know you think it won't happen, and that you'll be able to handle it, but you won't.

You using too much dark magic, and one day your body won't be able to take anymore."

"You're right, I know you're right, I just can't stop, it makes me feel incredible. Like I can do anything!" Willow said.

"Didn't I make you feel like that?" Tara asked sadly.

Willow nodded, "you did, but, this is so different, y'know?" She asked. She was trying her best to get her point across.

If Tara was leaving because she thought Willow couldn't handle magic, then Willow was going to try her best to explain she could, and get her lover to stay with her.

"No Willow, I really don't know. I don't ever want to know how dark magic feels." Tara said.

"But it's good, and it makes things better!" Willow said.

"You really didn't pay attention to what I said did you? You can't handle it!!!

Nobody can. You just gonna keep going until you hurt someone else, or yourself!" Tara shouted. She picked up her last box and stormed out the bathroom.

Willow felt a new set of tears form in her eyes. She thought she was getting through to Tara.

She winced as she heard Tara slamming the front door on her way out.

Willow had listened to Tara's point of view, so why wouldn't Tara listen to hers?

Well, if Tara believed that Willow couldn't handle magic, then Willow was just going to have to prove her wrong.

Summery: A different version on Willow’s magical addiction and her and Tara’s relationship.

Tara knocked on the door of Xanders’ apartment. Anya answered.

“Tara? What are you doing here? Why do you have boxes with you?” She asked.

Tara tried her best to answer, but just started to cry again. Anya pulled her into hug.

“What’s happened, is Willow ok?” The ex-demon asked.

Tara pulled back and nodded. “Willow’s fine.” She replied.

Anya looked at her strangely and asked, “Then why are you crying Tara? Has Willow done something to you? Did you have a fight?”

“I’ve left her.” Tara cried, throwing herself into Anya’s arms again.

“What?! Why? I know you guys were working through some stuff, but Tara this is Willow we’re talking about. Your Willow. Why would you leave her?” The ex-demon asked.

Tara mumbled something into Anya’s shoulder.

“What did you say?” Anya asked.

Tara pulled back and dried her eyes before saying, “She chose magic over me. I asked her to stop, for one week, and she didn’t even last a day!”

Anya had never seen Tara so upset. She took Tara’s hand and led her into the apartment. Tara sat on the couch, and Anya took the boxes inside.

“Do you want something to eat or drink?” Anya asked.

Tara didn’t look at her as she shook her head.

“You can stay here as long as you need, Xander won’t mind.” Anya said.

Tara continued to look at the floor, not bothering to look at Anya as she thanked her.

Anya walked over and sat beside Tara on the couch. “When are you going to get the rest of your stuff?” She asked.

“I’ll go back tomorrow.” Tara said as tears began to form in her eyes again.

Anya nodded and asked, “So, is this permanent?”

Tara looked at her strangely, not understanding the question, and asked, “Is what Permanent?”

“You leaving Willow. Are you going to go back soon?” The ex-demon asked.

Tara shook her head slightly, and said, “I don’t know Anya, I really don’t know.”

Anya was about to say something else, but was interrupted by Xander walking into the apartment.

He walked over to them and said, “Tara, what wrong? Is everyone ok?”

Tara nodded, and tried her best to hide her tears before saying, “everyone’s fine, I’ve just had an argument with Willow.”

Anya turned to Xander and said, “Sweetie is it ok if Tara stays with us for a while?”

Xander nodded and said, “Sure, no problem Tara, stay as long as you need.”

Tara smiled at him and said, “Thanks Xander, I’m going to check if there are any available dorms at the university tomorrow.”

“Tara, I hope you don’t mind me asking, but what did Willow do exactly?”

Xander asked.

Anya jumped in before Tara could answer, and said angrily, “She chose magic over Tara. Tara asked her to stop for a week, and she didn’t even last a day.”

Xander stood up and walked towards the door.

“Where are you going?” Anya asked him.

“I’m gong to talk some sense into Willow.” He said as he left.

~*~*~*~*~*

Willow walked out of the bathroom, still crying, and headed to her room. She still didn’t believe Tara was actually gone, she expected her to be in their room.

She sat down on the bed and looked around the room. To any other person, the room looked exactly the same, but to Willow, it was completely different. Most of Tara’s clothes were gone, and some of her books, and lots of other little things.

Willow was shaken out of her thoughts by a knock at her door. She dried her eyes and answered it.

“Dawn, you ok?” She asked. She saw that the teenager was crying.

Dawn looked straight at her. “She’s not gonna come back is she?” The teenager asked.

Willow sighed and said, “I don’t know Dawnie, I really don’t know.”

Dawn looked around the room for a while before saying, “When is she going to get the rest of her stuff?”

“She said she was gonna come back tomorrow. I’m not supposed to be here when she does.” Willow said sadly.

“Did you make her leave”? Dawn asked suddenly.

“No! I tried to get her to stay.” Willow shouted.

Dawn shook her head and said, “No, that’s not what I mean. What I meant was, did you do something to her to make her leave?”

Willow couldn’t answer her. They both just stood there, staring at each other, both of them thinking about Tara.

They were shaken out of their thoughts by the front door slamming, and loud footsteps stomping up the stairs.

Xander appeared at the doorway, and said angrily, “Willow, we need to talk!”

“Well, I’m kinda busy working on my own.” Willow said seductively. She leaded over Tara and was about to kiss her lover when they were interrupted by a loud ringing.

“Damn!” Willow said angrily as she walked over and got her cell-phone out her coat which had been tossed aside hours earlier. Tara sighed, as frustrated as her lover.

“Hello?” Willow said angrily

“Hey Will, sorry if I’m interrupting…anything.” Buffy said.

Willow softened hearing the tone of her friends’ voice. It was one she had never heard before. “Buffy, what’s wrong, are you ok?” She asked worriedly.

Buffy sighed, not ready to tell her best friend what had just happened with Spike. It was bad enough that Xander knew. “I’m fine Will. I was calling to check whether you and Tara have found out anything on the nerds. Xander ran into them at the Bronze earlier, well, actually his face ran into Warren’s fist.”

“Is he ok?” Willow asked worriedly.

“He’s fine. Warren’s done something to make him like ten times stronger so they’re obviously planning something tonight.” Buffy said.

Willow nodded, “yeah, with the stuff we’ve got we think we know what they’re up to.”

“Buffy sighed, relieved, “Listen Will, do u think Tara and you could come over so we can get some kind of plan going?”

Willow looked over to her girlfriend who was giving her a you-better-hurry-up-and-put-down-that-phone-and-come-back-here-look.

“Actually Buff, we’re kinda busy, can I just tell you what I know now?2 Willow asked hopefully.

Buffy sighed, “Sure Will, go ahead.”

Willow awoke to the sensation of Tara lips against hers. “Mmmn, hey you.” Tara said as she pulled back.

Willow smiled. A week ago, the thought of invited into Tara’s dorm was more than she could hope for. Now here she was waking up in Tara’s bed next to her.

“Hey, what time is it?” willow asked sleepily.

Tara leaned down and nuzzled Willow’s neck, “Just after one, I think we got about…six hours sleep.” She said, smiling.

“And you’re complaining about this?” Willow asked sarcastically.

Tara kissed her lovingly, “never.”

They sat for a few more minutes kissing, both ecstatic at being back with their soul mate again.

Just as Willow was about to take things further, Tara’s phone rang on the table next to them.

“God! Every time!” Willow shouted.

Tara smiled slightly, and picked up the phone. “Hello?”

“Tara hey, is Willow there?” Xander asked shakily.

“Yeah, do you wanna talk to her?” Tara asked, becoming distracted by the kisses Willow was planting on her neck.

“No, uh, I need you guys to come down to the hospital, now.” Xander said

“The hospital, why?” Tara asked worriedly. Willow stopped teasing her lover after hearing her words.

“Buffy’s been shot. Warren came…he had a gun.. I don’t know what’s going on.” Xander said, his voice close to tears.

“Xander don’t worry, we’re on our way. Where’s Warren now?” Tara asked.

Xander took a deep breath and said, “Its ok, the police have got him.”

Tara sighed, “Ok, just try to stay calm; we’ll be there in ten minutes.”

Summary: Another different ending to ‘Seeing Red’ Tara and Willow do go for coffee in ‘Entropy’ but that is not when they get back together.

Willow, Xander and Dawn were sitting together in the hospital waiting room. Buffy had been shot by Warren, and they weren’t sure whether or not she was going to make it.

The police were out looking for Warren, but that didn’t make things any better.

They heard the waiting room doors open and they looked up to see Tara walking towards them.

Dawn ran to Tara and fell into her arms.

“I’m so glad you’re here!” Dawn cried.

“Sshh, don’t cry sweetie, it’s gonna be okay.” Tara soothed.

They hugged for a few more minutes until Tara pulled back. She moved away from Dawn and walked over to Willow who was sitting with her head in her hands.

Tara kneeled down in front of Willow and put her hands on Willow’s knees.

“Hey Will, how are you?” She asked gently.

Willow looked up at her. Tara saw that Willow’s face was streaked with tears, and her heart ached for her.

"I don’t understand it Tara.” Willow said quietly. “We did so much to bring her back, and she gets taken away again by an idiot with a gun!” Willow cried.

Tara pulled Willow into a hug and rubbed her back. “Sshh, its okay sweetie, just let it all out.”

Willow pulled back suddenly. “Y’know, I was so ready to go after him with magic when I found out it was him who shot her.” She said angrily.

“What stopped you?” Tara asked.

Willow looked down nervously, “you. I knew that you wouldn’t want me to lose control again.”

Tara leaned forward and kissed Willow gently. She pulled back and Willow looked at her quizzically.

“What was that for?” Willow asked.

“Because I love you Willow. You’ve come so far in the past few months, and I’m so proud of you. It could have easily been you who got shot today, and that’s made me realise how much I love you. I don’t ever want to be apart from you again baby. Can we try again?” Tara asked.

Willow smiled, and pulled Tara back for another kiss.

End of Vignette.

Summary: A familiar face from Tara’s past returns.

Note: The first part of the story does not feature Willow, and Tara was not shot at the end of Seeing Red.

Tara was making dinner for herself and Willow, who was on her way home from class.

Things were going great for them. They had been back together for five months, and their relationship was better than ever.

Tara had never felt happier, because now she fully trusted Willow.

It had taken a long time for her to believe that Willow had sworn off magic completely,

But the more they saw of each other after the car accident, the better Willow had become, and Tara knew after their first coffee date, that she couldn’t spend another day away from her soul mate.

So that night she went back to Willow. She had been so nervous.

She had practiced a speech for over and hour, and the one she used when she got there was completely different.

She had been afraid that Willow would reject her, or tell her that she had moved on, but when she saw the smile that appeared on Willow’s face before they kissed, she knew they would be back together for good.

But then, two days later, their happiness was ruined. Warren, the man they all thought was harmless, shot Buffy.

Thankfully, the bullet wasn’t fatal, it hit Buffy in the leg and with her slayer healing, she was back on her feet a few days later.

The doctors told them she would be fine, and that all she needed was plenty of rest, but it still shook them all up.

They were prepared to deal with Demons, and Vampires.

The thought of someone using a gun on Buffy had never crossed their minds. Now though, they were all extra careful.

When Dawn told Spike about what happened, he swore revenge on Warren. He beat him badly, ignoring the effect his chip had on him.

Xander got there just before Spike killed Warren, but he was too badly beaten, and he died later in hospital.

They were all relieved. He was worse than any vampire, because he had a soul, and still he was able to kill people.

But that was all in the past now, Buffy was fine and Warren was gone.

Spike got his soul back, so he and Buffy were getting on.

Xander and Anya had been going on dates, and her and Willow were back together.

Even Dawn had a boyfriend, RJ something, so things were going great for everyone.

Ever since they had gotten back together, Willow had been so much more affectionate.

Before, they rarely hugged in public, but now, Willow would draw her in for long kisses in the middle of the street, not caring who saw.

At first, Tara had been slightly embarrasses, but the realized that no-one else’s opinion mattered when it came to her and Willow.

Think of her lover made her stop what she was doing and smile. Every day, Willow did something romantic.

Like leaving little notes for Tara to find, or taking her breakfast in bed.

Tara thought it was Willow trying to make things up to her, but she was already completely forgiven.

But Tara wasn’t about to complain about her lovers new romantic side.

They had been a lot more honest with each other too, and as soon as one of them had a problem, they would tell the other.

Their ability to know what the other was thinking had also gotten stronger in the moths they’d been apart, and they often finished each others sentences.

Tara was also teaching Willow how to respect magic properly, the way she had been taught by her mother, which had brought them even closer together.

Tara was so proud of Willow.

She had completely over come her addiction. She wasn’t even tempted by dark magic anymore, and she only ever practised light magic with Tara.

Tara was shaken out of her thoughts by a knocking on the door. She didn’t tink it could be Willow, as she usually had her keys.

She walked over and opened the door. Her breath caught in her throat as she saw who was staring back at her.

She never thought she would see the woman face to face again.

She felt tears come to her eyes as she took in every detail. The long blond hair, the sparkling blue eyes, and the half smile.

“Hello Sweetheart.” The women said.

Tears were now running down Tara’s cheeks. She didn’t know weather she was seeing things or not.

“Mom?”
