Steph - I am so not biased...thank you very much. I call it like I see it, good or bad. Your writing is definately of the good and I have said as much for months...even before we were really friends.....hence only obligated to be honest. I'm glad that you're posting, because if I'm on the money here, you're doing it for you, the best reason.

As for my writing, just like myself, a work in progress I suppose. But I do thank you for your encouragement as far as that's concerned, because I respect your opinion both as a writer and friend.

Not in the heavens

But in these eyes

Breathe me…

See you soon love..

Ps. I aplogize for any spelling errors..if you know me..u know my spelling is like dirt. Nice to walk on, bad to taste! (does that make any sense?)

Postby funkyasian » Sat Nov 30, 2002 10:28 pm

**************************

A fleeting glance

A stolen touch

A timid smile

The desire to be close

The need to be one

Desire passes through feather kisses

Understanding flashes across visage so pure

Soft sighs resonate

The world in balance.

As much as I love the poetry, I can't believe I missed the "coming out" party ;) for our 2 new poets. Welcome..

The words thus far have been so expressive on both parts.

Steph- a little trip to the dark side never hurt anyone, and helps ease the burden.

Trish- you express your love so beautifully, wonderful to read...

i've made it into an artform...so instead of doing what i'm supposed to, i'm writing thank you's...:p

TheWhiz - thank you so much for your compliments. i'm not very used to writing poetry so all feedback kinda boosts my confidence about this new direction i'm heading.

SilverWingedNemesis - i'm sorry if the nightmare piece was a little too graphic...i think i really felt those words as i was writing them...i'm glad you like them though...keep coming back...we promise we will try to not disappoint!

Aimee - hi aimlet...sweetie, i might not know what you're laughing about, but i do know that you can't kick me in the knee and run...hahaha...you're too sore to even move!! hahahaha...

barnabasvamp - *makes a sweeping bow* - thank you for your compliments, definitely much appreciated. i'm still fairly new at this whole poetry thing so any validation is a boost in my confidence. and you're right, a journey to the dark side does give good release...thanks for reading.

Aimee - hey aimlet again...hee hee...of course you won't run...you won't kick me either...cuz...you know i do have a protective trish to shelter me... - as for another poem, i'll try for something soon, promise!

anyway, that's all for now...thank you all for reading...

Steph - Tsk tsk tsk, bad you. I know a certain someone who is supposed to be working right now. As for me becoming an english teacher, not bloody likely. Educational institutions genrally perfer that members of the teaching faculty have degrees in....well something *grin*

The poem is definately of the good. It's like a delicious secret between two lovers. These ever important moments that mean everything. Definately liked it.

Like the latest poem. It is, I must say, a bit sexy! And I'm a sucker for sexy poems.

Postby funkyasian » Thu Dec 05, 2002 7:39 am

is kicking my ass...sheesh i came into work at an ungodly hour...but i wrote something new...so i guess it balances out...first a couple of thank yous...

*pineapplehead* - hee hee...i do work...i just know how to temperate it with equal amounts of not doing work - anyway, you know a degree is optional right? hee hee...that's what i keep telling my boss :p

*ninjitsugrrl* - sexy is good isn't it? personally that's the way i prefer it...although some of the more sexy stuff i want to write...well...would make me blush too much :grin

okay...and now, on with the show...

Through the darkness

A shaft of light

A huddled mass

Desperate for warmth

Crawling towards salvation

Icy hands

Meets

Warmth unbound

Fingers entwined

Eyes closed

Future uncertain

Deep breath

Leap of faith.

hope you enjoyed it... :pray

Oooh, I could hardly pick my favorite lines. This was such a good one. It's short but so dense with meaning. I really liked, "Icy hands/Meets/Warmth unbound". I also liked the idea of an uncertain outcome and a leap of faith. Well done!

As for the more sexy stuff, go ahead! We'd like to see you blush. :)

Keep up the great work! :)

commentary...

Postby The Pineapple Head » Tue Dec 10, 2002 8:16 pm

Steph - I know you hate the beach, but your poem reminded me of something. I remember sitting on the stairs to the beach, had to be October or November...cold and rainy. This atmosphere that is normally attibuted to paradise, blue sky, blue water and endless horizons, replaced by darkness (in daylight), sky gray like prison walls, flooding the dull sand and insanely powerful waves, crushing everything. Destruction, violence and no trace of hope. I remember sitting there was hours in that storm, watching the chaos and you kind of brought me back there. Very powerful words.

again with the replies...

Postby funkyasian » Wed Dec 11, 2002 2:17 pm

:wave - so here i am again...with a bit of thank yous...

*SquishyTrishy* - hi there beautiful girl of mine...well, it's about time you made an appearance in the thread...and here i thought we were sharing?! :hmm ...i'm sure we'll discuss this later? love you baby girl...:kiss

*The Pineapple Head* - hey diana...hmmm...what the hell were you doing at the beach in october/november? but you're right...i don't really like the beach...you know, the whole sand in my shoes thing really bothers me...but i'm glad you liked this...

*ExtraFlameyWT* - hola aimlet!! you think you can make the font just a bit smaller?? sheesh...and not to mention brighter?! :cool - i'm glad you like this one...i know you like the other one better...but maybe i'll post that another day...maybe...and as for something new soon, actually i have a new one just on the horizon...so maybe it'll get posted today? :angel

*tiredsoul* - celia - it's always nice to see you...so does our deal still stand? i post a new poem and you post an update to kali?! okay, not reall that fair of a trade off since my poems are only 10 lines...yours are...well, a whole lot more...okay okay...work is important too i suppose...i'm still trying to get my project working too...*glares at the stupid server*

*ninjitsugrrl* - :blush - hee hee...i get a 'wow' - i'm so glad you liked it...hopefully the next ones i post will also elicit the same reaction...it's always easier to write emotions and images if you put yourself "there" and that's what i try for most of the time (and seemingly with some success). Thanks for reading.

*bulldog tidnab* - hola andi...no running circles...none, i can't even imagine walking circles around your poetry. your song by far beats anything i've written...but hey...i'm resolved to catch up at least...so watch out for me in your rearview! :wink

okay...i suppose that's all for now...i do have a new poem i just written...it needs a little fine tuning, which is waht i'm probably going to be doing this afternoon instead of doing work. but i'm not sure when i'll get a chance to post it since i have an office party to attend tonight...anyway...stay well friends
