Buffy Fic Recommendations

Buffy stuff. Open to everyone now.

Works by the Rainbow Writers and Wayback Machine

Postby justafan » Mon Apr 03, 2017 9:16 am

So, I started watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer again and that triggered memories of all the fanfiction I used to read on it. This lead me on a hunt for few specific authors that I used to enjoy and after some time I managed to track down most them down.

I particularly enjoyed the works by the Rainbow Writers duo. While I found some of their stories re-posted on various sites like this one but a lot of their work was just... gone. Not even on fanfiction.net where they have put up their old stories could I find it all. Then I remembered they used to have a website but that hasn't been up for nearly 10 years... fortunately there is Wayback Machine which allows you to see snapshots of old websites.

In case anyone is interested to read / repost them in here, here's the link: https://web.archive.org/web/20090402012 ... page_1.htm

It can be bit difficult to navigate due to all the pictures missing and not every page/story is saved but you can, for example, grab the whole "Circle Series" from here: https://web.archive.org/web/20090106045 ... n_menu.htm

Needless to say, the Wayback Machine is handy for other sites as well, just keep in mind that you might need to try different dates, usually the latest snapshot is just the website host's slash screen.

Hey Justafan,

They actually do have a fanfiction.net page which I found here https://www.fanfiction.net/u/3867413/rainbowwriters You can also find more of their writing on http://www.jasmydae.com/ as well as their last know website: http://rainbowwriters.tripod.com/

I hope this helps!

Hi everyone!

So I've written a couple of fics... well... one I wrote waaaaay back in 2003 and the other (its sequel) I wrote a little less than a month ago.

Anywho... the older one couldn't be posted here because it broke a FAQ rule (the "W/T must be in their own bodies when engaged in smut" rule).

The new one doesn't technically break the FAQ at all. But the subject matter is heavy and super-ANGST-y so I've opted not to post it to DCP without Xita's permission.

So in the meantime, here are links to the two stories on AO3:

The Fine Print & Choices

I'd love it if ya'll would take a peek at them and let me know your thoughts.

Cheers!

Since JetWolf's The Chosen has already been discussed (with none other than a surprise guest appearance of Jet herself, even if it was almost seven years ago), I'm going to go ahead and recommend MMacGregor's See Noir Evil: https://www.tthfanfic.org/Story-16978-65/MMcGregor+See+Noir+Evil.htm<, which is a truly wonderful and strange Xander centric fic that takes place long after S7 and features none other than a Tara only he can see.

Its something I never expected to read, esp with a Xander POV, but this guy is a great writer, the story gripped me but it was the heart of Xander and Tara's relationship, one we sadly never really got to see on the show, fully explored and developed.

Anyone have a full story link to TarathePhoenix's "Apothecary" ? It's posted in chapters a few places but I'm lazy and read on my Kindle and it's way easier to have it as a whole document. Thanks!
