With the information she had received, parts of the previous night’s events began to come back to Willow, though she still couldn’t remember actually zapping the tree and getting hit. eh, just your average post-knocking out memory loss, she sighed. All the Scoobies had had far too much experience in being knocked out.



“Tara knows about demons? She knows that some demons can be helpful, productive members of the community, right? Right?” Anya perked up, her pout replaced with a glare, one that she could put fittingly into sentence, even if it was ‘Hey, would you look at that – I’ve just won the lottery.’



“Anya is an ex-vengeance demon,” Buffy told Tara, answering the blonde’s questioning gaze.



“Anya, it is far too early in the morning to be discussing your public status,” the Watcher scowled. How is that bloody woman so perky while the rest of us are zombies?



“Fine!” Anya huffed. I must tell her later what a productive member of the society I am, she vowed.



“So we’re researching demons who mess up magic?” Xander asked, too tired to perform a 'witty' pun.



“Giles,” Buffy interrupted, “I have class in forty-five minutes and I need to catch some more sleep before hand. I’ll come round later, ok? We all will. Be here at five?” Buffy pleaded, thinking of her cosy bed.



“And I have to work, too. If I’m not there soon, I’m gonna have a very cranky boss,” Xander cut in, also wanting to leave with enough sleep to not collapse in a heap on the construction site.



“Ooh, yes, Xander has to dig! Come on, Xander, we’re leaving this boring place!” Anya announced as she grabbed Xander’s arm pulling him up, the earlier argument forgotten.



“It was a pleasure to see you, too, Anya,” Giles retaliated sarcastically.



“Bye, Giles. And Will, and Tara,” Buffy called as she hauled herself off the couch into a standing position and headed after Xander and Anya to the door.



“Bye, Buffy, bye, Xand,” Willow called after her retreating friends.

“Bye Wil-“the door slammed shut, courtesy of Anya.



Giles turned to face Willow and Tara before addressing them, “Girls, in order to not let this whole thing be a grand waste of time, would you both mind explaining to me in more detail what happened, so I may research this?” Giles asked.



“O-ok,” Tara agreed. She didn’t want Willow to be in any sort of danger; therefore, research was a very good thing in her book.



“Um, I remember a bit more, now,” Willow stated, crinkling her brow into a frown, trying to remember the events.



“As you know, we did a spell,” Tara started.



“To see auras,” Willow cut in.



“Y-yes, to see auras,” Tara smiled at the redhead, “and it is normal to feel a little…out of it. But there’s kind of a safety back-up thing; when you are afraid, the spell dissipates, allowing you to think and see clearly,”



“I can remember hearing about the demon, but the spell never went. It increased and it was totally impossible for me to think straight,” the redhead admitted, In more ways than one...



“When a demon attacked us and Willow tried to stun it with magic, the bolt went straight up into a tree, instead of where she was pointing,” Tara continued, “And then Buffy came, attacked the demon and it teleported away.”



“Hmm…,” Giles looked more than a little concerned, “to me it would sound as though the demon was attempting to disable Willow’s magic, bending it to its will,” he looked to Willow, “I think it would be best if you didn’t practice magic for a while, not until this matter has been resolved.”



Willow merely nodded and yawned as she sank back into the couch and closed her eyes.



“I think it would also be a good idea for the two of you to go home and get some rest. Especially as you,” he peered at the sleepy hacker, “only got out of hospital this morning,” he gave the advice, looking kindly towards Willow. Of course, that would mean I can go back to bed…



“Ok, Mr. Giles, we’ll get out of your way,” Tara grinned at him, before standing up and offering a hand to Willow.
