Seriously... yeah, there's so much more to learn about Tara and so much more for her to do, and if she's killed and stays dead we'll never get to see any of it. On the other hand, that's true of all characters if you write them well enough, so it's not necessarily a reason to keep Tara alive.

My strongest thread of hope at the moment is the fact that neither Amber Benson nor any of the Buffy staff is acting like Tara's being written out permanently. Michelle's doubts bring the possibility that the script is a fake back into play, although my current best guess is that we're going to see some reset-button action.

Check back in an hour, though. Things might have changed again by then.

Although i agree with som people there ould be some sort of kidnap thing as i thought that tara was acting really different laterly but again anyone whos shy can become assurtive & strong when something bad happens to them.
Plus this death thing sounds like c**p as i think that it would be really awful to kill off a character whos 'past' has been full of abuse from her father & stuff. I think Tara's character has really been shown realisticallly as i think any gay person whose been in an abusive family environment would agree.
I still say the death wont happen!!!

Well, Wanda has been very little help, so far. Her big spoilers have been that Warren ditches his "bookends" and goes solo and turns evil and that Willow and Tara reunite and it's "STEAMY." Tell me something I don't know!

My god, my world has changed so much that the sentence, "Willow and Tara reunite and it's STEAMY," doesn't even make me happy.

Hey everyone,

Okay, what do we think one of the central themes of Buffy is? Why do we have a 21 year old slayer? A slayer that has defeated evil and survived time and again!
To me its always been about strength in numbers. Each character draws their courage and determination from the others. They're a team, a family, a force of nature almost. What is gained by splitting the group and damaging them irrevocably? By turning Willow into a cold-blooded killer, capable of tormenting and torturing a human being? Aren't these the same people that couldn't even consider offing Ben last season 'cause he was human?
I accept that Anya and Tara are not core scoobies, but they do have a higher status than any other "add ons". These 2 characters have been with us for 3.5 & 2.5 years respectively. We've got to know them, begun to empathise and connect with them. They each play a valuable role in the group, especially our Tara, having found her place without Willow, but knowing that ultimately her "place" is with Willow. Yet, if events go as predicted, either by spoilers or by our own conjecturists, one of them will die!
I do believe that the "taking back" theory could come into play. But what would be the piont of anything if nothing was remembered. Conversely, how could Willow live with herself, knowing she was capable of such barbaric behaviour. I don't see a good ending anywhere. Losing Anya is no more acceptable than losing Tara.
However, there are of course reasons for both characters to be killed off.
If the writers go for maximum devastation, then it'll be Tara. This is a woman that fulfills more roles in the scooby gang than anyone ever has. To Willow she is everything, her reason to get up in the morning, her perfect fit, her only true love, her "split apart". Without Tara, Willow has no hope for a happy and fulfilling future.
For Dawn she is the "mother", the care giver, the person who puts her first and thinks of her needs, who is always honest and loving,
For Buffy she has become a trusted friend, a sympathetic ear, someone to help shoulder her problems without judgement or criticism.
She is the heart and soul of the "family". The embodiment of why they do what they do. She is incorruptable. She is pure and "good". To lose her would be a massive blow to the characters and to the show. One I'm not sure either could ever recover from.
Alternatively, they could go for the softer option; Anya. She does have her place within the group though. Often the harsh voice of reason and practical thought. We may not always like what she says, but she is fiercely honest. She has considerable knowledge, and fights the good fight, all be it reluctantly. Her reluctance in fact makes her more noble. Pushing past her fears, doubts and good sense to risk herself time after time. Mostly because of love.
Her loss would of course be a blow to Xander, causing I'm sure feelings of guilt and loss. It would also be a blow to Tara, they are friends and possibly feel a kinship.
Of course, Anya spent 1100 years maiming and murdering those she believed deserved it. It is also true she has never shown any remorse and has never actively sought redemption. Should she pay the price for her past, would that be justice for all her victims? Possibly!!

Joss, the choice is of course yours. Please just make it a good one!!!

So I would just like to reiterate a few things, that I feel everyone really needs to take to heart right now.

First, don't panic. We have miles to go before this rollercoaster is ends. The episodes are weeks away from airing and then the story will unfold over a period of 5 weeks. Anything can happen in those 5 episodes, we really do not know at this point. We need to patient and wait it out. Yes it's hard at this moment, but it really is not for us to know until it happens.

Secondly, there is nothing wrong with being emotionally invested in characters that are on tv. People are emotional, we invest our interests into tv, movies, books, sports, pets, everything we do in our lives. Do not let anyone tell you it is wrong to be upset about this, because you have every right to be upset.
Some of you have spent years now investing yourself into these two characters. Your lives, your time, your money, you cannot just shut that down and say, well, it was a nice run while it lasted.

Thirdly, a lot of people are coming to this board now, and that is a good thing. But put on a strong face for the visitors. Don't think about what may or may not happen, let's just celebrate what we have and just let the spoilers fall where they may.

Take a deep breath and trust in that Joss and the writers know what they are doing.
