OT: Does Buffy have an aunt?

*edited for spoiler...I think at some point during the run of BTVS a mention was made of visiting an aunt in L.A. by either Joyce or Buff herself. Am I crazy or am I imagining this. Help.

Yes, season 2, Episode "Killed by Death" mentions and shows her cousin Celia dying, apparantly from an attack by "Der Kindestod" so I would say Buffy does have and aunt/uncle, namely Celia's parents... As far as I know neither of them ever made an appearance in the show btw.

I think Joyce called Buffy's Aunt Arlene when Buffy got into Northwestern.

I wonder if Aunt Arleen was notified of Joyce's death. I would think they would tell her, being Joyce's sister and all.

There were a number of non-Scoobs at Joyce's funeral; any of them could have been from out of town.

Nobody stayed over with Buffy and Dawn, but that doesn't prove much.

I think this is just trying to keep the amount of characters down - we don't really need to see people's parents or relatives, unless they have something specific to contribute to the story.
