CT Kitties and Vagina Monologues

Happy Thursday morning, kitties. If there are any kitties here from CT, I did happen to get a minor part in SCSU's production of the Vagina Monologues! I'll be reading the intro to "Under the Burqua" as well as participating in some of the group monologues.
Proceeds from performances April 4th and 5th at 7 p.m. (followed by a reception) will be donated to a local organization that works to end violence against women and girls (a final decision on that organization will be announced shortly) and 10% of our money will be donated to the women in Afghanistan, a worldwide recipient this year.

There are going to be 800 events around V-Day this year. We are one of 550 universities putting up shows.

Good luck, love.. Our production of it ended last friday(which is why I haven't been in and around here very much) and we managed to raise over $10,000 in 3 nights--which was double what we did last year.
I also had the great opportunity to be able to perform "Under the Burqua" (we chose not to break up the intros and the monologues) which was one of a few of the more raw, striking pieces.
I still have not been able to get those words out of my head..

I will be seeing the NZ version of The Vagina Monologues (Lucy Lawless and Danielle Cormack) next month. Too bad I live so far away.

They are doing the production in my area as well, just across the river into Ill. The dress rehearsal was tonight and then they are performing on Sat.

Shanie from what I hear about the Xena con this past weekend was very moving. All the actors got on stage and told stories about Kevin. Even Lucy and Rob called in from NZ and everyone could hear them.

I read that when Michael Hurst found out (he was in LA at the con) he called Kevin Sorbo and they cried on the phine together. This info came from Michael's wife in an interview she gave here.

There is a tribute page at the creation site.

Also Lucy, Micheal Hurst and Kevin's agent are setting up a fund for Kevin's family. They are making it legal to where any money donated won't be taxed.

BTW the redhead in the photos on the tribute page is ROC.

Hey, good luck with that! My son goes to SCSU but I'm not sure if he's going to this or not. When I went there it wasn't a "University", it was a College.
