For some reason - she doesn't want me to leave so I guess I will be keeping her company in the brig for the duration.

[Wonders where Katharyn managed to get the whip?]

Yeah right... sunburn... it took her three days to sort out some sunburn for me. Aye aye Captain. Okay I can live with that excuse for the benefit of discipline in the ranks.

Now get back in here Ma'am*S*

Where's Wolfie with that answer?

*stumbles in, epaulettes all dislodged and rummaged-looking, hastily fastening his Captain's breeches*

Whoops, sorry, got a little pre-occupied. I don't know about the raven-haired beauties, but I'm a husk of my former self!

The answer to the question is:

Buffy: Do you want to hear my philosophy? Seize the day.

Willow: Wow. Seize the day. That's deep.

From Welcome to the Hellmouth. I mean, Willow is wearing Laura Ashley, so maybe it sucked her brain, or something.

Ooh, just been offered tummy time.

*Adjusts wide-brimmed hat to a jaunty angle, and saunters out, whistling "Sweet Gene Vincent" by Ian Dury*

So that is why you told me to get dressed... *Starts undressing again... then pauses*

Thanks for that answer Wolfie... I knew that I knew it I just didn't know it... perhaps someone sucked my brain out through my... mouth Racking those brains looking at likely suspect transcripts... did I bother with WTTHM... oh no... nothing deep in there.

New question... and a new style. You have to look outside Buffy for this one, though not too far, and it is phrased in a Willow orientated manner...

Why would "43100" be a number Willow would really, really like?

And with that... *carries on undressing* Can we at least shut the door?

Thanks Wolfie - its time I got back into the pure air of the bridge again. Things were getting a wee bit wierd in the brig.

Ok - for the benefit of the curious I'll fess up - we've been down there writing the Xmas fic. It's all finished now and I've had a little nap, so its time to take up the wheel and steer SE towards the shores of home.

Katharyn is still down there coping with that sunburn but I expect her back on deck as soon as she finds a way to wear clothes comfortably. (A silk sari perhaps?)

Wolfie - you have done a sterling job. I hereby present you with this nice shiny medal - which is pretty but useless - and this box containing several Terry's chocolate oranges (white, dark, milk, and raspberry to be precice). May you enjoy them!!!

Hey, I got a load of Terry Pratchett books for Christmas so does anyone mind if I just sit here in the sun reading, that's unless someone has any jobs they want me to do(always eager to help)

Captain Kerry's memories of the Brig seem to be different from mine. I could have sworn we finished the Xmas fic on about 15th December. But then she is the Captain so who am I to argue?

Oh and Magrat... feel free to do what you like, read, get a tan... but be careful of the sun - apparently around here sunburn takes five days of TLC with the Captain in the Brig and even then it is not right.

If that is your cup of tea...

I give up - my reputation is shot to hell. I may have to abandon myself on a deserted South Pacific Island and take up the life of a hermit.

Magrat. I'm stringing up a sun shade so that you can sit on deck and read without fear of sunburn. Look what sunburn can lead to!!

Wolfie. I love you lots. Sending you lots of hugs. If you use them all up let me know and I'll send more. Ok?

OK!! I have decided (due to the unnerving number of voyaristic rats) to get a ship's cat. This will be a sturdy male moggy - built something like a brick outhouse (a la 'Horse' from 'Footrot Flats' for those who are familiar with the cartoon). We will hold a competition to name this magnificent feline individual - the winner will get something nice - not sure what - thats Katharyn's department. (Warning - try to stay out of the brig!!)

Ooooohh, huggles! I likeses huggles! More! More! Also, I have placed my shiny-but-purely-cosmetic medal, next to all the others, which I bartered from a local cannibal, who'd discovered them in the bottom of his pot, after boiling a British naval officer. I only escaped, as I was able to offer him the remastered Iggy and The Stooges' Raw Power, which he only had in the original Bowie-mastered vinyl, and so was well pleased, as was I - as I didn't follow in Red Beard Rum's footsteps. *sigh* If only he had Lord Effingham's double A-side wax cylinder (he was very ahead of his time) "My Love is a Prick (on a Tudor Rose)/Hot Sex Madrigal in the Middle of My Tights"; then Nursie might have ended up with more than simply a beard that you could lose a badger in.

Oh, and as this is evidently turning into more of a pleasure yacht, than a tightly-run Naval operation, could I also claim some down time, to re-read The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy? Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect are about to be read Vogon poetry, you see, which is one of my favourite bits (along with Slartybartfast's coastlines, of course).

And now I really, really need to get on with some work.

*runs over, squeezes Forrister until he sees eyes pop, then mooches off, smiling*

Okay... so the brig conversion was my idea and I am glad that our noble Captain has actually succumbed and admitted what was going on*S*

The question I asked some days back was either:

A) too hard
B) missed entirely...

The answer was 43100 is Faith's prison identification number from her uniform... I get the idea that Willow might have liked it for that reason. Nothing else.

Oh yeah, I will think of a prize for the naming of the official ship's moggy... but you don't want to know why we are really getting it... trust me.

Welcome back Hanki!

Care to name the ship's moggy? There is a prize! (Which I have yet to pick.)

Lets try to keep the name vaguely W/T related... though none of the obvious candidates (W/T/MKF) *S*

Well, ignoring this terrible pain in the diodes down the left hand side of my body, I have to add:

Groop, I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes.
And hooptiously drangle me with crinkly bindlewurdles
Or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts with my blurglecruncheon, see if I don't!

The answer to the question, is, of course; the question to the answer of the meaning of life, the universe, and everything!

A suggestion for the name of the ship's cat: Durga. She is a warrior goddess who slays demons (applicable, eh?), who was summoned by the gods when the demons in the shape of fear, corruption, violence, greed and deceit were pillaging the world.

Mother of the Universe
Unknowable One
Remover of Darkness
Great Light of Enlightenment
Spirit of All-Knowing Wisdom
Destroyer of Demons
Heart of Compassion
Womb of Eternity ...

If there are rats on the ship, she'd sort 'em out!

In deference to Majikthise and Vroomfondel, the two greatest sages and pundits the Galaxy has ever seen, I demand that a kitty may (or may not) be running about, demanding a name, and that name may (or may not) be Slartibartfast, after the only man crazy (or sane) enough to invent equatorial glaciers, and that, on rainy Tuesday afternoons, it may (or, indeed, may not) turn into the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal, a creature so stupid, that it assumes that, if you can't see it, it can't see you, to whit I shall hand all on-board kitties with paper bags to wear on Tuesdays. That is all.

Well Magrat, what can I say. All is forgiven. Just try not to fall off the wagon again - Cries of 'ho overboard!!' tend to disrupt shipboard life a little.

Wolfie - thanks for the heads up!! I'll be wearing my peril-sensitive sunglasses just in case.

As for the kitten, as I expected, it is currently curled up on my lap after chewing my shoelaces and sharpening its claws on my leg.

Question... Why/when did Willow call Xander Mr Stealthypants?

Katharyn

Aha! I know this one! So there!!!

*Plumps up chest and looks all smug*

Willow calls Xander Mr Stealthypants, because he calls out to Captain Cardboard about the choo-choo signal he made in ... In ... an episode of Buffy. I remember, 'cause I saw it - wait, let me check ... Okay, it's in *squeezes eyes shut and concentrates* Shadow ... or Listening To Fear, or, um ... One about then, I think.

I was wondering something about the Joo Janta 200 Super-Chromatic Peril Sensitive Sunglasses - if the peril was, say, walking into a lamp post, or a brick wall, would they go black? Because, if they went black, you would walk into said wall or post, thus perilisating (it is a word, I tell you!) yourself, whereas, in fact, if you weren't wearing them at all, you'd see the wall, and wouldn't walk into it in the first place. And if that was the case, would they still turn black while in your pocket, or only if they were on your face ...? Um, I'm reading too much Hitch Hikers, aren't I?

*Walks off, forgetting to remove his glasses, and promtly walks into the door frame*

Ow!
