Hey folks, Aly is clearly doing a big bunch of appearances right now in support of American Pie 2 and the upcoming Buffy season. Instead of scattering every single interview and appearance everywhere, put them here where anyone looking for a dose of Aly can find them.

I was watching E! (the channel) and there where these promos of a show called celebrity adventures which is having aly on it. The clips they showed of her were mainly her with I think some tribe, she has paint on her face and in one shes tryin to shot an arrow. Oh my god! just think of seeing a whole hour or half of aly on her little adventure. It starts on Sept 27 I think not sure. Can't wait

[completely rewritten post to say...]

I got it! I got it! Lucky me, turning on the tape at 7am this morning and that's exactly when the AP2 actresses came on. That means I don't even have to wade through hours of Howard Stern - and that's the best news of all!

I'll have sound clips up this weekend - I'm going to do Howard, Conan and The View all at once.

Apparently, according to usenet they didn't talk much to her.

Now Answering some stuff over at the Conan thread.

April, I did tape it Naughtiness eh?

drlloyd, I saw her confused as if she had no idea what the heck he was talking about. Cause he didn't say "will be evil" he talked of the past "he said your character becomes, became evil right in one episode?" ans she started to say no (until he specified the one episode part)then she said, "ah, oh yes."

I am not worried.

Now, I posted my digital pictures of the show here

Salicin posted one of Nick's caps at here and more should follow at http://www.alysonhannigancorner.com

Wow...no offense to any Conan fans but, couldn't someone put Aly on like Leno or Rosie, or at least something where the host tends to..well be less like Conan.
He didn't even get Vamp Willow...he was just talking about an evil Willow with big boobs.
He talked to her about Willow being gay and if it was just something the people did to get guys to watch the show.
Does he do any research before he has guests? Just wondering.
Aly was really cute though.

I just read on TBCS Message Board about this interview... and someone posted there that Aly's body language changed when Conan asked about Willow possibly turning evil. Someone else posted that she looked a little confused, like how did HE know that. A future indication of storylines?
She then realised he was talking about evil Willow in Season 3.

hey at least Conan talks TO his guests and not AT his guests like Leno or Letterman do.
I don't get Leno or Conan here on my cable carrier in the UK but I do get tapes sent to me occasionally if Lucy Lawless or Gillian Anderson are on the shows.

To watch Lucy on Leno and then on Conan it's completely different, she is way much more relaxed on Conan. Leno talks a lot but never gives his guests time to answer or get into a conversation - hard I know when you only get like 10 minutes! but still... give me Conan anyday. Actually, give me Rosie - the queen of chat ! I love how she is sooo into her guests. What a difference that makes.

We don't get her here either but I was lucky to get to onto her show when I was in NY this spring and it was great. She is just great with her audience...and her guests.

Thanks to xita I saw this on webcam and heard it in chat. She's so cute and she looked great. Kind of nothingy interview though, I mean, it didn't tell us anything we didn't already know. Unless you're talking Evil boobage, that is.

I had to love Aly's line about "That's how I amuse myself on the set of Buffy--I take my boobs out and throw 'em against the wall." Gods love the woman, she is so cute.
I also enjoyed her version of the story Amber told in that BigTV interview (or whatever that website was) about everyone crowding onto the set to watch them film the ice cream truck scene in "Restless," and hearing her tell the story from the OUT interview about the guy who came in and rented porn constantly when she worked in a video store.

And I do agree about Conan's interactions with his guests. I've found him to be in questionable taste before (I still haven't forgiven him for the inexcusably crass skit about the '96 US women's gymnastics team), and in both this interview and his recent Lucy Lawless interview I got annoyed with some of his comments. However, he does have a much more fun way of bantering with his guests and giving them room to talk than Leno or Letterman, and the interviews as a result are more interesting.

Unfortunately, yep, not much we haven't heard before in this one.

Are there screencaps anywhere?

Aly looked amazing but the interview was only so-so.
And about "Aly's body language changed when Conan asked about Willow possibly turning evil.", she was a little stunned that he started talking about something from season 3 instead of asking something about last year or next season on Buffy, it wasn't an "oh my god, how does he know about that" look but a "what the hell is he talking about" look.

About Howard Stern:

did not hear it myself but a poster (A Big Potato) from HDC posted this today after he heard it...
Well, I heard the Stern interview this morning... and let me tell you that it was ruined by having Tara Reid and Natasha Lyonne there too. We barely got to hear a peep out of Aly.

Some highlights (?) included:

She said she was nervous being on the show.

In response to being asked if she was a lesbian in real life, Aly said that she "has kissed girls in real life, but only to make boys jealous."

Sarah Michelle Gellar likes to have her name pronounced "Sarah Michelle Gellar", with the accent on the "ar".

Alexis has a "great" penis and is a "great" lover.

She would not answer whether she likes... uh... back door action... (if you get my drift.)

Natasha Lyonne was originally offered the role of Buffy on the TV series.

Aly is making around a million dollars for AP2, with additional back-end deals in place depending on the success of the film.

Aly said that she thought "it was cool" that Tara Reid butted in and answered questions directed at Aly.

She would not show her breasts.

I am glad she wasn't going to pander to that ass. Just too bad she was on there in the first place. Even for Aly, I would not listen to this man.

Oh just watched the tape of Aly on Conan and she looked so good

His question about Willow being evil was that he heard she had gone evil for one episode (which is wrong because vamp Willow was in 2) and Aly looked confussed about the reference not scared or nervous. Maybe she just wondered what he was talking about. The whole interview was worth watching for her comments about the "chicken breasts" hee hee

If you miss it, check TV Guide or something, I think it repeats around 10 am tomorrow morning.

Here's a description of Aly's Conan interview, from Hemiola at HDC:

quote:
OK, although a full-fledged transcription is beyond my humble capabilities, I shall endeavor to provide the "gist" of the interview for those HDCers "in distant parts" who were unable to see this appearance:

First of all, the lady herself--Aly was wearing a "shear" top with no bra; you couldn't see much but it was nonetheless very attractive. She looked positively radiant .

Conan started off by thanking her for appearing again on the show. Aly then began to fidget with the portable microphone pack that was clipped to the back of her pants. CO'B asked her what she was doing and she responded that "it's fallen out", eliciting a laugh from the audience and an amusing leer from Darrell Hammond, who was sitting in the chair next to her (prompting CO'B to ask him "Can we change seats?", and causing Aly to giggle).

CO'B started off by reminding everyone that Aly had been working in front of cameras since the age of 4, and then asked her if she ever had a "real" (i.e. non-showbiz) job. She replied that, yes, she had once worked in a video store that offered "90% Porn". Asked if that bothered her, she replied no, not really, but one guy "creeped her out" a little, since he would rent six videos when her shift started at 10AM, and would then return them and rent six more (!) when she came back from lunch!

The conversation then shifted to AP2, and CO'B asked if "the flute" makes a reappearance. Yes, she replied, since Michelle is now working at Band Camp and giving lessons (which elicited much suggestive laughter from the audience). "In fact", she continued, "now there are other instruments involved".

Asking about "Buffy", CO'B brought up the fact of Willow's lesbian relationship, which elicited loud applause from the audience. Amusingly, CO'B then remarked to Aly that "It's not what you think. They're not applauding because they think it's a socially enlightened thing". "I know", she replied, "they're hoping for girl-on-girl action" . This last response lead her to recount the story of the filming of the famous "kissing scene" in the ice-cream truck during Xander's dream in "Restless". When she remarked that they (i.e. her and Amber) were all "slutted up" for the scene, there were again applause from the audience . She then continued to note that more than the usual crew insisted on being on the set, "including the transportation guys. They normally don't do much, but they insisted that 'there's an ice-cream truck on set, so we have to be here'".

The discussion then went on to a description of Vamp Willow's costume, Aly's favorite parts being the leather and what she called the "chicken breasts; little plastic breasts with nipples" which were used to "enchance" her own assets. After shooting, they became "all gooey and sticky", so she removed them and threw them at her mirror, where they stuck. "That's how I amused myself" she said. CO'B then added that "it sounds like they might make a nice children's toy".

Anyway, these were the main sections, but there was much other amusing goodness, and I hope someone else here has the skills to produced a full transcription.

I should mention that I plan to spend my Saturday this weekend gathering sound clips from all of Aly's appearances this week, or at least as many of them as I can get recorded. They'll be up at the Willow/Tara Sounds Page once I have them done.

Does anybody know if it's true that Natasha Lyonne auditioned for the role of Buffy? I know that Charisma Carpenter did. I've always wondered who else read for that part, and for Aly's. I know the pilot (which i'm dying to see!) was shot with someone else as Willow - anyone know who the actress was or how to get ahold of the tape? Has it ever been streamed online?

I read somewhere that Aly had to come back for numerous readings because she was so different from what they originally had in mind. It wouldn't have been the same show (it probably wouldn't even have been a show after Prophecy Girl) without Sarah and Aly.

I've always been curious about how it all came together. They knew Sarah would be perfect as Buffy, but at what point did they realize that having Aly as Willow was key to the show's success?

Aly looked great on Conan; too bad he's such a moron. I don't think he's ever watched the show, which is why she looked confused when he asked about "evil Willow" i think. It was just so out of left field, like he had a couple 'talking points' on a card so he'd have something to say.

It's kind of scary to think about, but Howard Stern makes Conan look like a Rhodes scholar. Kind of makes you wonder what kind of society we live in that shoe-scrapings like him can get paid obscene amounts of money just for being offensive. I wouldn't watch him either, no matter who's on.

Okay, sorry about the rant, but he really is disgusting.

Alas, my particular techno-toys will only do audio. Better than nothing, though.

Perhaps there will be a video file on the USEnet in a day or two. That usually happens whever one of the Buffy stars has a major appearance. Check the group alt.binaries.multimedia.buffy-v-slayer. If you don't know what the heck I'm talking about, April did a thread for instructions a while back. It's on the board somewhere.

To the person who said Conan was a moron because of his evil Willow comments: It's possible that he has seen parts or some of the show (due to his comments when Sarah is on) but not all of it. Therefore he wouldn't know of some or actually MOST of the things that the fans who watch the show do. *shrug* Dunno...maybe I'm wrong...but I don't think it's obvious that he does or does not watch it...just that he does not know enough about it, we can then assume that he might have seen a few episodes here and there. He's just a bit Buffy illiterate.

Well, I don't think Conan was as much of an ass as Craig Kilborne (sp?) last year, but AH was swell. I just checked the E! website which had the following listings:

AP2 Special tonight at 7 pm EST (7:30 in my TVGuide, though)

Behind the Scenes Friday 7 pm EST & 1:30 am (technically that's Saturday)

Weekend News Special AP 2 1 pm Saturday

That looks like 3 different things. Plus, MTV is supposed to be running their Making of the Movie tonight at 2 am - you can deduce a few things from that show, by the way, so if you enjoy logic problems, spoil yourselves!

TRL is scheduled to be repeated at 8 am Friday, which hopefully won't conflict with her Today show appearance. Then I simply must take a little time and enjoy the view!

Actually, I didn't mean to suggest that Conan O'Brien was a moron because he had never watched Buffy. I didn't think he was very familiar with the show, but that's neither here nor there. I said he was a moron because i think he's an idiot.

Of course, being a clueless nerd is his schtick, and that can be funny. I just don't think he does it very well. He comes off as both aloof and smarmy. Unfortunately, his interviews are frustratingly devoid of even a hint of substance, and it was frustrating to see Ally struggling to carry this appearance all by herself.

Aly is so sharp and so funny I would love to see her in an interview with someone she really clicks with.

Are you planing to make video-files to? I'm deprived of aly-goodness theese days, It's not enough that don't send buffy on tv here, they don't send any interview either

Just got around watching Late Nite with Conan.. we taped it last nite.... Aly looked amazing! I didn't terribly care for Conan's comment to Aly about that the producers wrote in Willow as a lesbian to attract more males to the show.... but Aly handled herself well, as mentioned by others I think.

I just saw the funniest thing on total request live. At the end Aly fell on Sean from AP2 on purpose but it was still funny. See Sean fell on purpose and Aly fell on top of him and then the rest of the cast joined in. They all landed on Aly though, I hope she was ok.

your worries are over fell, i've got the unaired pilot of Buffy with a different Willow! if you or anyone wants a copy (i'll even add in the Aly on Conan interview and then some...) send me email at eek84@yahoo.com

btw, xita, warduke, etc: thanks for the pics and the extra Aly interview info... i love it that she's getting exposure, it's about bloody time! she definitely was just awesome on the CO'B show! loved that part when she imitated the transportation people saying: "no we're gonna make sure the ice cream truck's ok" re: the filming of Xander's dream in Restless. that was just sooooo cute! to summarize her interview: she talked abt porn, kissing, and chicken breasts. go Aly! oh, and American Pie 2 of course! heh.heh. cheers and peace!

MP3 files of Aly's interview on Howard Stern were posted to Usenet. If you don't have access to the newsgroup, I uploaded them to my site. Unfortunately Tara Reid got most of the interview time, and even when it was Aly's turn she even talked a lot. Here's a link for the mp3's
