after intense moping, let out a deep, mopey sigh, look up at the sky, then think "it's over now. past. can't do anything about it now." then look straight, shrug, and continue on with my life.

Are you right or left handed or ambidextrous to a better than average extent?

Right-handed, but I can make do with my left if the need arises.... :glasses

Have you ever failed a drug test?

At my mom's house, I used to climb out on the roof outside my bedroom window. Now, I live alone so I go home. Unless my kids are visiting for the weekend or whatever, then I go to the gazeebo behind my apartment.

Do you have one special person you can tell anything to?

Yes I do. That would be K. What do I call her? My soulmate, my best friend, the woman I love. I can tell her EVERYTHING and in fact she knows more about me than anyone else - including my parents

i'd like to get rid of this obnoxious southern california "accent" i've been stuck with since uttering my first word back in 1979. i've lived on the east coast for five years and people can still peg where i'm from within seconds of opening my mouth. i'd like to just have a "neutral" broadcast accent (which is apparently northern calfornian) and not any other regional accent. they sound great on other people (with the exception of appalaichian mountainese) but i'll pass for myself.

where is the naughtiest place you've, as bob eubanks would say, made whoopie?

my sister walked in on me once, but she didn't realize what i was doing - it was dark, and officially she was "just a friend" so i don't think that counts....

do you have any brothers or sisters? and what are they called?

I am so totally out. At work. At home. To my family and friends. the only folks I avoid it with are my patients. It just seems like a bad idea - and they DO ask (what does your husband do? blah blah blah) I dunno. I am not like super in your face gay pride or anything, but it comes up and being avoidy feels too much like lying about the one good true thing I know for sure.

oh. um. wrong question.

Uh. Well, my Dad came out for me, that surprised me. I was 18 and had just come home from college and he put his arm around my sholders and said "you know we don't have any closet doors in this house". THAT was a surprise, and also that I was totally *not* ready to come out yet :).

Q: Who was the first person you came out to, and how did you do it?
I am, you know.

First person I told was my best friend James almost 5 year's ago. I dont know how the conversations started but somewhere in it I just blurted out, "Im gay." At the time I had only known him for about 4 months and we had many discussions previous about being gay and such, I never thought he would be the first person I told. He was so amazing with it. He simply tolded me that I was his friend and nothing would come between that. And then last year when he came out to me I treated it just as well as he treated my own coming out.

How did your very first relationship end?

No. I let it dry naturally and hopefully it falls into nice curls that way. Or I straighten it. But if I have wet hair and I'm in a rush and I want to straighten it then I will get the dryer on it first - otherwise it sizzles in the straighteners and that's not a good sound!

My landlord for the rent. Not the greatest reason for a visit but he's a sweetheart and I love him to death.

If your friend is down or upset about something, what do you do to cheer them up?

Buy them Lush goodies and send them a card to tell them how much I care - as well as a big hug.
