I think with the current run of Hex Sky were just sticking a toe in the water, so they only committed a limited budget and left things a little vague so they had some wiggle room, ie if it looked like a real disaster a little creative editing could have wrapped it up with part 5. As it has clearly done well enough to get a proper order for next year we can only hope they will get extra cash. Of course Cassie can unleash a truly terrfifying power on Azaeal now, the CSA...:devil

Tara: No, I understand you have to be with the person you l-love

I finally got round to downloading and watching the first episode yesterday and I thought it was pretty good.

It struck me as being a merging of Randall and Hopkirk (deceased) and Charmed.

I'm glad it's been renewed. When the new episoded air I might actually watch them on the TV rather than wait hours for each ep to download.

ETA: Does anyone else think that Cassie wearing a red beret at Thelma's funeral was a homage to The Sixth Sense? (In which if you see a prominent red object it's a sign that something supernatural is happening)

In the beter late than never category I present to you...HEX as reviewed by me.

I watch the first two episodes and I liked it so far.

Of course I want to know what is going on with Cassie. Azazeal seems intresting at first, but come on a brooding, quasi evil (or very evil) non human? That was getting old with "Forever Knight".

Thelma. How can you not love Thelma really. She has the best lines and a certian verve about her that I really like.

Trouble is despite her continued appearance on the show, I think her death qualifies as yet another dead lesbian cliche.

Let's see, she professes her love for Cassie, they have a spat, next time we see her she is murdered (or drowned). Sorry, but I think I have seen that all before.

So, my full verdict is out. We will have to wait and see. My curiosity might get the better of me and I'll watch more. Thelma, dead as she is, is still great.

I can't decide if I like this show or not, I mean despite the fact that actress Christina Cole is absolutely yummy beyond words, this whole thing with Azazeal is tiresome and the fact that's she's already had this brooding-centuries-old pale guys baby within five episodes has left me scratching my head I'm sure I'll get a bald patch!

The thing I do like about this show though is Thelma and I think the audience of this show have probably warmed more to her than they have to the main character Cassie.

Cassie's boyfriend... What's his name... troy? Leon? Leo? ugh! whatever! Someone mentioned that he doesn't seem to move his mouth when he speaks, I watched the repeat lastnight and had to laugh when I realsed it was true! I think though that the actor is trying to hide his lisp?!

One of the actors (i think it's troy, leon, leo's friend) has a really strong northern accent and everytime I hear him trying to sound more southern I have to laugh at that too!

So yes, I'm undecided, it's worth watching for Christina cole and Jemima Rooper though! Definitely!

I just watched the first 2 episodes (French Kittens, it airs on W9, wednesday 20h50) and I'm hooked! In several shots, Cassie reminded me of season 4 Tara :luv and the story of Azazael reminds me of Ann Rice's novel series ("The Witching Hour" and sequels) which I absolutely loved.

There's a bunch of new British TV shows, it's nice for a change :p
Now I can't wait to see it not dubbed in French, I'm sure Thelma and Cassie have a lovely accent :love

That is funny Bob. My wife said the exact same thing to me on sunday when watched the Who finale!

Not to sound like a snob or anything, but a couple more British imports and I am ready to drop American TV alltogether.

The great thing about Hex and Doctor Who is that they broke the mythn that seemed to grip UK television that Sci-fi/fantasy was strictly 'cult' programming, that you weren't going to be able to build a mass mainstream audience. It just remains to be seen if the other networks in the UK get the message.

All hail the USEnet warriors who get stuff posted so quickly! :bow

Hex Season 2 is off to a great start, I think. For one thing, it looks like they actually have some money to spend this time around.

Thelma discovers that she can wear dead people's clothes and ditches that hideous outfit from last year. Cassie's child is growing up quickly. The evil beasties are on the loose. And there's a new girl in town - Ella, who appears to be, for lack of a better term, a 500-year-old Slayer. Thelma's initial reaction to her is... interesting. :lol

So, has anybody else seen the show yet?

I don't know about torrents, but you can find it on the USEnet. I went to alt.binaries.multimedia.scifi-and-fantasy, but it's probably at alt.binaries.multimedia, too.

I enjoyed it alot. I was so glad Thelma got rid of that dress with the flower and those red boots!! And she was sweet when she cried because it got muddy.

I didn't expect it to end quite like it did, I was thinking the opposite direction with the lad.

The effects were good, and Thelma had some funny lines again :-D

Still, at least I can get to see it. Hope you in US can download it all somehow.

I've been watching the Season 1 DVDs over the last couple of days. Its not what I was expecting but I really enjoyed it. I liked the two girls and the teachers but could've done without the bitchy students.

A couple of things I must have missed:

Was there an explanation as to why Thelma can't touch Cassie? If she can open doors and eat crisps why can't they touch?

At the end of the pilot just before Thelma is killed Cassie shows that she would die for Thelma, but in the director's commentary he says that Cassie is also finally admitting that she loves Thelma. Interesting.

It's such a pity the interviews with the girls are so short, but it looks like they had a great time making the show and it's easy to see why the close friendship between the characters is so believable.

I don't think so, there was live football on Sunday night when they normally show it first and I've not seen it advertised at any other time.

Have you caught up yet? What did you think of the surprise ending?

I don't think they've ever said why they can't touch. It does seem a bit strange when Thelma can touch everything else, and eats continuously!

When the first series was on, I was sort of put off by the fact that it seemed so directionless and that it the story wasn't really progressing anywhere. But I saw signs it could imrpvoe and gave the 2nd series a chance.

Thank Goodness I did!!! The 2nd series is a vast improvement over the 1st. The story is intriguing with lots of twists and turns. The characters are now more interesting and the inter-relationships are intriguing. I find my self enjoying the show very much now and look forward to each new installment.
