Gem,

That Fic is called "Eyes of the Soul", it's by Jennpurr, and it should be on the 2nd or 3rd page of the Pens board. It has been updated recently.

I fully intend reading it once MS is finished. (another one on my list)

secondly, there is a thread out on here that is for specifically for 'searching fic' questions on the board. this is for fic writing questions only. this has been discussed already on page one of this thread but maybe we (xita, lol) should include this in the FAQ or find that searching fic thread and tack it up so we can all use it quicker.

Re: How kosher is Willow?

Postby Triscuit7 » Fri Aug 16, 2002 10:10 am

Hi all - quicky question: Does Willow eat pork products at all? I seem to recall a reference to sausages, but can't remember if it was canon, canon-based fanfic, or simply fanfic. Also what about shellfish?

For the curious kittens: this all concerns what W & T would eat on a pizza.

Thanks, Melissa

I'm not sure about Willow and shellfish, but you know that Tara's allergic, right? Of course you knew that.

I don't seem to remember her turning down any specific food types. I'm not sure, but I'm going to stick my neck out here and suggest that Willow's not very orthodox with her religious beliefs. I think it's her dad that is.

Sorry that's not much help.

Hi Tommo - Thanks. That's my feeling too, that W isn't esp hung up on what she eats. I know waffles, pancakes, chocolate, even burgers are mentioned.

Hey Mel, I've been trying to respond to you all day but Comcast told me that their mail server was down. Willow may not be all that kosher since the Kosher Dietary

Laws tend to be a little strict. They limit or even forbid those who adhere to them from eating certain dairy products, pork, certain types of beef, etc. Here are several links that may help you get more information:

www.jewfaq.org/kashrut.htm,

www.ohr.org.il/special/misc/kosher.htm and

If you need anything else, let me know and I'll try to help any way I can. Good luck!

BTW, does anyone know if Willow's birthdate has ever been mentioned??

Re: How kosher is Willow? & Spellcasting

Postby BethanyB3 » Fri Aug 16, 2002 2:37 pm

Hi Melissa,

Since they have always shown Willow eating with her friends, in their homes, out & in the school cafeteria, I can't believe she keeps kosher. Having been raised Jewish I can tell you that many Jews (self included) do not keep Kosher. Particularly those who were raised in the reform & conservative traditions. Willow seems to be a reformed Jew, in that I haven't seen evidence of any strict religious practice in her home, other then her Dad's aversion to a Charlie Brown Christmas.:wink

Hi DigificWriter,

Raised Jewish, but a practicing Wicca by choice. Don't know how much I can help you in the spellcasting dept.; since I equate casting more to prayer then magick, but I'm here if your interested. Feel free to drop me a line. ~Beth

Please, I need help with this. If anyone knows any Ancient Greek please respond to this thread or IM me... thank you. I'd hate to be the only kitten who knew Ancient Greek. ;)

Re: More help with Something Blue

Postby DigificWriter » Wed Aug 21, 2002 12:09 pm

Hi. I need some more help with my version of "Something Blue". Thanks to Rane, I've been able to pinpoint exactly what kind of spell I'm going to use to cause Buffy and Spike to fall in love (and it's not a love spell) and am to the point where I'm ready to have Willow execute the spell. However, I need some help creating the incantation for the spell. I want to use either Latin or Ancient Greek because Willow needs to misprounounce one of the words in the incantation. If anyone knows either of these two languages and can help, I'd appreciate it. For your reference, here's the incantation in English:

"Goddess Selene, heed my call. Locate the one whom unto you I describe."

Thanks in advance.

Well, I'll see if I can translate it into Ancient Greek for you... but I'm having problems with one of my sentences so I might not necessarily be successful.

Wendy,

A quick search through the season 5 transcripts reveals no reference to Ben's surname. Unless you can spot it on a name tag or something....

Re: Creative help thread - Ask a question! Read the first Po

Postby Zahir al Daoud » Thu Aug 29, 2002 2:32 pm

Okay, as some of you know (and if you don't here's a shameless plug) I wrote a fanfic called Never The Twain? in which gentle sweet Tara is a vampire. (you can read it at http://zahir.150m.com /SHAMELESS PLUG)

I've gotten a lot of cool feedback, which warmed my heart. Then I started on a sequel called From Childhood's Hour, which was going ok. But then I realized the thing was wandering all over the place, and I started over.

The idea for FCH was all about loneliness, and how beautiful it is when loneliness ends. Willow and VampTara were kinda the catalysts--Faith and Lilah would each react to their relationship, which would in turn lead to finding their own new significant others (no, not each other--and I'm not gonna say who because its just too cool a surprise).

But RL got in the way an the story has stalled. I suppose right now I'm looking for some feedback, some reaction, some shred of a notion or image that'll re-inspire me so I can go and continue on with FCH.

Any suggestions? The story takes place in LA, where many of the adventures that have taken place to Angel have instead happened with Faith and her Watcher, Wesley.

Comments? Questions? Suggestions?

If it be there I care not of that other Book above.
Strike it out! Or write it in anew, but

okay - dead dead basic question coming up :)

I'm making my 1st ever wallpaper, & I'm quite chuffed with it so far :) but I'm having problems with putting words onto the picture.

I'm using Paint Shop Pro 4 & I'ver tried using the text icon & I just get hashed words all over the place & duplicating lines & I can't get rid of them!!!! *hehe*

How do I put them where I want, & can I change font/colour/size once they're there?

I have one suggestion, decided what the spell does and the use a search engine to find a latin dictionary or translator and get a few appropriate latin words and string them together. I don't have any addresses as I just used copernic to locate one, odlly enough I think it was a Catholic university or some such.

New help needed

Postby DigificWriter » Tue Sep 10, 2002 12:04 pm

Since I posted in this thread last, I've done exactly what Sheridan suggested, but I've translated the spell into regular Greek rather than Latin or Ancient Greek. I intentionally left a couple of letters off of one of the words that I used, though, so that the spell will misfire when Willow reads the incantation. However, I'm now faced with a new problem. Due to a lot of different factors, the biggest one being the sheer amount of information I needed to cram into Something Blue, I've moved it back to episode #7. However, doing so leaves me with a hole in between 'Call of the Wild' and 'Something Blue', and I need suggestions as to what I can fill that hole with. If any of you have any suggestions of ideas that I can use for episode 6, post them here or e-mail me.

Firstly is 'Call of the Wild' your story or do you mean 'Wild at Heart'? Also are you asking for an actual plot for a story? Without knowing what you are planning with those two stories it's sort of hard to offer advice.

Re: New help needed

Postby DigificWriter » Tue Sep 10, 2002 5:05 pm

"Call of the Wild" is my version of "Wild At Heart". FYI, here's a synopsis of everything that's happened so far in my story arc:

Buffy, Willow, and Oz have started college. However, Buffy's first couple of days were hampered by the fact that she'd been targeted by Spike, Harmony, and a gang of vampires led by a girl named Sunday. After getting Spike, Harmony, and Sunday's gang off her back, Buffy had to deal with her annoying roommate Kathy and eventually discovered that she (Kathy) was a demon. Despite Kathy's attempts to steal her soul, Buffy made a very mature decision and begged an elder member of Kathy's demon tribe to let her continue attending UC Sunnydale. The request was eventually granted, but by this time Willow had moved into Buffy's room, giving Kathy the freedom to move into a single. After the adventure with Kathy, Buffy began dating Parker Abrams, a guy she'd met on campus, while Spike utilized Sunday's gang in his search for the Gem of Amarra. A combination of differences among the vampires and a few clashes with Buffy whittled Sunday's gang down to nothing, prompting her to steal the Gem from Spike and go after Buffy, who staked her and stole the gem, which she then sent to LA with Oz. Spike found out about her plans for the gem and trailed both it and Oz to LA, where he tried to get his hands on it from Angel (this wasn't seen, but is alluded to in my version of "Something Blue";) . Meanwhile, Buffy, Parker, and her friends attended a Halloween party and had to deal with a miniscule fear demon that had accidentally been summoned by one of the frat boys who were hosting the party. Following this incident, Parker left Sunnydale for a few days, leaving Buffy by herself. While Parker was gone, trouble began to brew between Willow and Oz after Oz became physically attracted to a female werewolf named Veruca. Willow found them together and freaked out, and was trying to curse both him and Veruca when the female wolf attacked her. Oz saved the day, but then told Willow that he was leaving Sunnydale to try and find himself.

BTW, I realize that a lot of this stuff is EXACTLY what happens in the existing BtVS S4, but that's sort of the whole point. I'm trying to create my own version of BtVS S4 while still including some of my favorite themes and plots from the existing one.
