Chapter 28b - TIMELESS

Postby FIRESIGN » Fri Oct 03, 2003 7:21 pm

Chapter Twenty-eight B

Willow and Tara sat together inside the casting circle that Tara had laid out within a beautiful clearing in the woods. In between them sat four items…a small pottery bowl with sand in it, a second one with water, a third with some tinder, and a fourth – which was empty.

“Ok…now what’s with all of the goodies here?” Willow said, pointing at the bowls.

“Each bowl represents one of the elements…the sand – earth, the water, the empty one – air…and this one…” she said, picking up the bowl with the tinder in it “…is fire…incendio!” With those words, a bright blue flame jutted out of the bits of tinder within the bowl.

Willow’s eyes widened. She knew from what she had read that Tara was powerful, but she hadn’t expected to see her use her powers so effortlessly. Oftentimes, it took Willow several days to prepare a spell, with Tara…it seemed no more difficult than breathing…

“Wow…okay…I’m impressed…so what are we going to do?”

“We need to start you at the basics, Willow…the elements.”

Willow was a little taken aback at the idea of having to start back at the basics…

”Um…honey…I kinda already do spells…you know…um…more difficult than this…”

Tara looked at Willow intently “I know…but Willow, the magicks that you use have been quite dark at times…”

“…and that’s a bad thing how? I mean…whatever works…”

“No Willow…you are a creature of light…any dark magick that you use corrupts your soul…it will eventually weaken you. All of your magick from this point forward must be light-based only…”

“But it just kind of seems like a waste of what I already can do…”

Tara’s face became stern “Willow…I hate to do this to you…but what you are talking about…cutting corners…taking the easy way out…this is what got you in trouble in the first place…”

Tara’s words stung like hot pokers digging into Willow’s flesh as she remembered the words that she herself had written…how her arrogance had cost her the lives of her friends…a tear welled up in the red-head’s emerald eyes…

Tara did not wipe the tear from her face. It broke her heart to watch Willow hurt…but she knew that the pain that she would feel if she failed her friends again would exceed this staunch reminder…she knew that this was what Willow needed.

“Now…in order to work the magick of the light, all of the elements must be in balance…that is where we will start…”

Meanwhile…

“So what are we looking for, Giles? I mean…is there something specific…like the ‘Witchy Guide to Time Travel’ or something?” Xander asked, shuffling through a large stack of books at the Magic Box.

“Well…to be quite honest with you…I’m not sure what we’re looking for…anything with reference to time travel…or Kaliphicus…or the white witch…what was her name?”

“Tara?”

“Yes…of course…Tara…”

“Giles…we’re going to be able to beat this thing, right? Will is going to be okay…isn’t she?” He said, looking to his father-figure for reassurance.

Giles rested a hand on Xander’s shoulder “I sincerely hope so…”

Chapter 29 - TIMELESS

Postby FIRESIGN » Sun Oct 05, 2003 9:40 pm

Chapter Twenty-nine

Willow sat with Tara in the circle, a determined look on her face as she concentrated on maintaining the flame that was dancing in front of her.

"You are the fire...and the fire is you...if you remain balanced, so does it...and nothing will stop the burning..." Tara said, calmly.

As Willow concentrated on the flame, Tara first picked up the empty bowl...saying merely the word "wind". As she did so, a strong breeze came out of nowhere...hitting the small flame, making it shift in the wind...but the flame remained steady...

"Good...keep concentrating..."

Tara picked up the bowl containing the sand..."Earth" she said, as she poured the sand over the flame...once again, the flame remained steady...

Beads of sweat were forming on Willow's brow as she tried as hard as she could to maintain the flame...

Tara picked up the third bowl...the water..."Water" she said, pouring it's contents on the flame...

The water hit the fire with a sizzle...making it flicker...and then, much to Willow's chagrin...the flame went out.

Willow stood up abruptly..."I can't do it! Why do I have to do it this way? I could do this so easily if you'd just let me..."

Tara stopped her mid-sentence "No! Absolutely not! If you are going to continue to try to use the dark magicks...you will fail! Do you understand what I am saying?"

Willow had never seen her love so emphatic about something before...

"Dark magicks lead to nothing but death...if you keep this up...I'll lose you, Willow! I can't go through that again...I just can't!" she said, getting up from the circle and running down the path...

"Tara...wait!" Willow said, running after the blonde...

Meanwhile...

"You'd...what? Love..." Buffy was a little dumbfounded by Faith's words. "But we never..."

"B....look, I was really confused before...but a lot of things are clear to me now...I just needed to get away for a while...clear my head...figure out what was going on inside of me..."

"Tell me..." Buffy said, still holding the dark Slayer's hands in hers.

"It's just that...you know...this whole 'Chosen One' thing...it kinda threw me for a loop. I mean...here I am...happy punk kid...not a care in the world...then, all of a sudden, some guy I don't even know comes up to me and gives me the 'onto every generation' speech...you know...'here's your birthright...here's a stake...here's a vampire...now go out and save the world'...it kinda blew my mind, B."

Buffy knew exactly what Faith was talking about. There was no 'hey - how'd you like to be the Slayer?'...it was 'this is your birthright...you are the Chosen One.'

Faith continued "...I figured no one could possibly understand what I was feeling...what was going on in my head...but then you came along...somebody that could really understand what I was dealing with...somebody who had felt what I was feeling...and all wrapped up into one tight, hot little blonde package with a smile that would melt all the ice at the South Pole..."

The blonde Slayer couldn't hide her blushing...

"All I wanted to do was impress you...talk to you...share my feelings with you...but I was scared...and stupid. What do I do? I show you my three easy steps on how to become a juvenile delinquent! I screwed up, B. I'm sorry...that's why I had to get away for a while...put a little space between you and me. That way, I wouldn't be getting you into any more trouble, and I would have the time to sort through these things and come back here...and hopefully...have a chance with you?" Faith said, looking at Buffy for something...anything that might give her a glimmer of hope...

"You did corrupt me, you know...and I'll never be able to forget that..."

Faith looked down in disappointment...

"...just like I could never forget you." Buffy said, placing her hand tenderly under the dark Slayer's chin, lifting it gently so their eyes could meet.

"Yeah?" Faith asked, tentatively.

"Yeah." Buffy said, leaning forward, brushing her lips against Faith's...

Chapter 30 - TIMELESS

Postby FIRESIGN » Tue Oct 07, 2003 2:03 pm

Chapter Thirty

“Tara…slow down! Wait!” Willow said, trying desperately to catch up with Tara.

Tara stopped dead in her tracks, turning around and facing the red-head. Tears flowed down her beautiful cheeks…and Willow’s heart broke as she saw the pain that she was causing her love…

“Do y-you even know how bad I hurt when I lost you? Do you know how lost I was? Do you even care?” Tara said, in between sobs. “I would rather die than go through that again!”

“I’m sorry, baby…I’m so sorry…” Willow said, wrapping her arms around Tara’s body…comforting her. “I just don’t understand why you’re so afraid of me using the dark magicks…I mean…they’ve worked for me in the past…really well, I might add! There’s been a couple of times where they literally saved my butt…and everbody else’s, too!”

“Haven’t you been listening to a thing I’ve said? Willow…every time you use the dark magicks…they come with a price…it drains the energy from your very soul…sooner or later…it will take you completely. Once that happens…there is no going back…you’ll be gone forever…and if that happens…so will I…”

Willow looked in those beautiful Sapphire eyes…now clouded with tears. “What do you mean?”

“Willow…I won’t go on without you again…I can’t. I’ve already decided…if something should happen…and I lose you again…I’m going to take the oil of wintergreen and…”

Willow knew exactly what that meant…the essential oil of wintergreen could kill with a single drop…one tiny drop in her bathwater, and the victim would go into cardiac arrest…Tara would die…all because of her…

“No! You can’t mean that! You can’t do that!”

“Willow…I will…it would be better than suffering through every day without you in my life…”

Willow knew what she had to do…

“Alright…I promise…never again. Promise me you’ll never think about taking your own life, okay? I can’t live without you, Tara…I just found you…I love you…” Willow said, leaning into the embrace, pressing her lips gently onto the blonde’s.

Tara broke momentarily from the embrace “…I love you, my Willow…and I would like nothing more than to show you just how much right now…but we really need to get back to your training before we lose the light of the day…”

Willow groaned, partly in disappointment…as being this close to Tara had definitely raised the red-head’s internal fires…and partly in dread…knowing that not only was she going to be frustrated sexually…but also magically, before the day was out…

“Okay...let's get to it...but do I get Tara snuggles later if I do well?" Willow grinned, hopefully...

"Mmmm...Tara snuggles...Tara kisses...Tara hands...Tara tongue...definitely...but first..."

"I know...I know...let's make with the balancing..."

Tara leaned in, kissing Willow gently on the forehead.

"I love you, Willow..."

"I know..." She smiled, as they walked hand-in-hand back down the path to the casting circle.

The last two updates were really moving regarding Willow and Tara. I'll have to go back and reread the first few chapters again. I'm really not too sure how she lost her then, but I am loving them being together now. That was a powerful scene with Willow... Tara needed to let Willow know how terrible she had it when Willow was gone.[I think Willow got the message.] Hey, Willow can do it. Kinda sorry they had to get back to the circle though...like W/T hugs and kisses! :wink

Hello Kittens:

First of all - thank you so much for reading this fic of mine - I really appreciate your feedback! It means a lot to me. That being said, I feel I should explain my view on the "suicide threat" that Tara made in the last chapter. Looking back on it - I think perhaps I should have thought things through a bit more clearly before writing what I did. I did not want it to seem like a "suicide threat" - although, that is, in effect, what it was...I DO NOT - nor will I EVER condone the act of suicide for ANY reason...those of you who have chatted with me online know my firm stance on this. Suicide is never the answer. However, what I INTENDED to do was to convey the desperation that Tara felt...how she could not go on if she lost Willow again...more like her soul would die with Willow...

So - just wanted to justify a few things there...did Tara threaten suicide? Yes. Do I condone such things? NO.

I am truly sorry if I have upset anyone by adding this into the story...

Thanks,

Greetings fellow kittens! :pride I have only posted once I think, but felt absolutely compelled to post here right now. This story, I think, is very well written and I am loving the whole idea of Willow going back into this time. Having been there before but not knowing it, you've written this really well FIRESIGN. I admire this fic so much.

And also, Tara in an old cottage style house caring for Willow, what on earth could be sexier than that?!?!?

Oh, and about the "suicide threat", I totally got it. It was Tara'a last attempt at making WIllow see just what Dark Magic would do to her. I got that, I did, and I wasn't upset by it at all. Though it was out of the blue and unexpected, it was certainly relevant to the story I think.

I hope Willow and Tara end up together in the end with Buffy, Xander, Giles and Anya. Please please please let it have a happy ending! :wink

Keep on writing and I'll definitely keep on reading!!!

Chapter 31 - TIMELESS

Postby FIRESIGN » Thu Oct 09, 2003 9:53 pm

Chapter Thirty-one

The afternoon had proven to be a tiring one for Willow. The amount of concentration that had been required to balance the elements…even on such a small scale…was tremendous, and it had drained the young witch more than she cared to admit.

Hands entwined, the two lovers headed back down the winding path leading to the cottage.

“Boy…I don’t remember feeling this drained since…well…ever!”

“What we did today takes a lot of concentration…it can be very taxing when you’re not used to it.” Tara explained.

“That’s putting it mildly!”

“I’m proud of you, Willow…you did very well this afternoon.” Tara said, smiling demurely.

Willow beamed with pride “…really?”

Tara nodded “I know how tough it is for you to…you know…not revert back to doing things the other way…and it means so much to me that you’re keeping your promise.”

“I’d do anything for you, baby…you’re my everything…my always.”

Before they knew it, they had arrived at the door. Willow had rushed ahead, reaching down and opening the door for Tara, bowing and stretching out a hand gallantly motioning for her to enter “…m’ lady.”

Tara curtseyed and entered the small cottage. Willow followed behind, closing the door.

“I’ll bet you’re hungry after all we did today…how does stew sound? The vegetables just ripened recently…” Tara suggested.

“Actually…how about I cook for you tonight?”

“Um…baby…remember that story that I told you about the last time you decided to cook for me? It took forever to get the stench out of the cottage…”

“Oh…but that was before…I can cook…really I can! I’m a regular Martha Stewart in the kitchen…seriously!”

“Martha-who?” Tara asked.

“Nevermind…come on…let me pamper my wife for a change…”

Wife. The word had rolled off her tongue with ease, leaving a tingling sensation in it’s wake…

My wife…Tara is really my wife…goddess, I love her!

Tears welled up in Tara’s eyes when she heard her Willow finally speak of her as her wife…the words she had waited so long to hear…she loved her so much at that moment…she could refuse the red-head nothing…even if it meant letting her cook this one time…

Two hours later…Willow and Tara huddled together under a heavy woolen blanket as the remaining smoke billowed out of the open door and windows…

“Sorry…” Willow said, sheepishly. “Look on the bright side…it could be raining right now.”

The words had no more than left her lips when they both heard the rumble of thunder in the distance…within minutes, they were sitting in a full-fledged downpour.

The two looked at each other and broke out in a fit of uncontrollable laughter.

The warm rain pounded their bodies, making every inch of their skin tingle with a pulsing sensation. Willow looked over at Tara…the rain had soaked through the thin white robe that she wore, making the folds cling to her body, accentuating every curve…leaving nothing to the imagination. The sight stoked the already smoldering fires deep within Willow’s soul. She reached out, caressing Tara’s face with the back of her hand, slowly sliding it down her neck. Turning her hand over, she proceeded down the nape of the beautiful blonde’s neck…

“My god…Tara…you are so beautiful…” her hands continued downward over her chest, softly across the firm, sensual mounds.

Tara’s head tipped back, her eyes closed as she lavished the feeling of Willow-hand…her nipples rising with the touch…her tongue peeked out between her lips, running across the velvety surface of her upper lip, leaving a shiny wet trail behind…

The sight was too much for Willow to take. She took Tara by the arms, pulling her close and pressing her lips to hers…tongues darting in and out…surveying every crevasse of each other’s warm, wet domain.

“Mmmmm…” Tara let out a throaty moan as their kiss deepened.

The only thing standing between Willow-hand and Tara’s velvety-soft creamy skin was the rain-soaked robe. Willow reached up, clutching the robe…tearing it down the middle, exposing what she was longing for…

Tara was surprised by Willow’s action…but pleasantly so. Willow had always been the dominant one in the relationship…but this…this was new…aggressive…determined…erotic…primal.

Willow laid a trail of kisses down the blonde’s neck and to the sweet cleavage below. Her hands ran down to the curve of Tara’s hips. She fluttered her tongue teasingly over the nipple while grazing her gently with her teeth…nipping, fluttering…sucking.

“Oh, goddess…YES!” Tara said…the waves of pleasure coursing through her body…settling into the heat welling between her thighs…

Those words were all the encouragement the red-head needed as she worked her way down the soft skin on Tara’s stomach, down to the pile of golden curls that waited below. She settled herself in between the blonde’s long, taut legs…lavishing the musky scent of her love’s essence. Gently she lifted Tara’s leg, resting it on her shoulder as she descended into the depths of Tara’s love…

Neither witch had noticed that as their passion increased…so did the intensity of the storm around them…lightening flashed every second from all directions…

They are becoming one again…

Yes…their power is growing. Let your love guide you, my daughters…your love will conquer all…
