Anya grinned. “So she finally realized it huh?”
Xander looked at her questioningly. “What do you mean?”
His girlfriend sighed. “That she’s in love with Willow.” The room became dead quiet.
Buffy was the first one that managed to speak. “What the hell? That can’t be right!”
“Why not?” Anya questioned. “It’s obvious.”
Xander gulped. “How?”
The ex-demon smiled. “Well you see, when two people are attracted to each other they act a certain way. And believe me, these two are more than just attracted to each other.”
The dark haired man stared at her. “But, Ahn sweetie, Tara isn’t gay.”
Anya didn’t bat an eye. “How would you know?”
Buffy stumbled over her words. “Because she…she just …”
“Isn’t.” Xander finished for her.
Anya smirked. “Trust me Xander. These two are definitely falling for each other. In fact, they’re already fallen.”
“But why wouldn’t Tarester tell us?”
“Well first off, Willow’s Faith’s sister.” The tactless girl replied. “How would you feel if you were in her shoes?”
“I guess that I wouldn’t be all that much for telling people.” Buffy sighed.
“Exactly.” Anya smiled. “Now, am I getting paid for this help? Because you interrupted my orgasm time.”
Buffy rolled her eyes. “God Anya! Is that all you think about?”
The ex-demon stated in all seriousness, “What else is there?”
The blonde stared at Anya for a moment, opened her mouth and attempted to get sound to come out. She squeaked.
“Faith.” The little girl ran over to the older girl. “It hurts.”
“Lemme see.” The small brunette carefully examined her sister’s black eye. “It don’t look too bad.”
“I don’t wanna be here.” The younger one cried. “No one likes me!”
“I’ll beat those meanies up!”
“They called me bad names.”
“Me too.” Her sister was way too sensitive.
“An’ I’m hungry.” The smaller child whimpered.
“I am too. But ya know we can’t eat.”
“I hate them.”
The older girl looked thoughtful for a moment. “I’ll kill ‘em.” A pause. “Not now. I’m not big enough yet. But I’ll get big an’ then I’ll kill ‘em!” The younger girl through herself into her sister’s arms.
“Tara…hi…” The redhead blushed.
“Um…Hi Willow…” Tara stared at the smaller girl. Before realizing her feelings things hadn’t been so awkward.
“So…”
“Let’s talk.” The blonde blurted out.
“Uh…sure.” Willow looked around shyly.
Tara thought for a moment. “Um…” a pause. “ So…did you have a boyfriend back home?”
Willow froze at the question. What should I do?! “Um I er…no one really liked me.”
“How could they not?!” The blonde witch blushed.
“I’m just not the kind of person that people like.”
“Well…” Tara thought for a moment. “Was there any boy back home that you liked?”
“Um er…uh…Whataboutyou?” Willow spit out, trying to divert the blonde’s attention.
Now it was Tara’s turn to freeze. “Um…no…never…”
The two of them just sat there.
“Um…is there anyone you like?” Willow decided that she would be the one to push the conversation.
Tara blushed, noticing how the redhead had said ‘anyone’ and not ‘boy’. “Yeah…” a pause. “Is there…anyone…you like?”
Crap! “Uh…maybe?”
“So you do.” Tara gave the younger girl a smile to let her know that it was okay. “You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want-”
Want, take, have. That’s what Faith had always told her and lived by. Carpe Diem. She quickly leaned forward closing the distance (which she realized had slowly been getting smaller) between the two.
Tara was shocked to feel Willow’s lips against her own. She savored it, memorizing everything about the girl.
Then it was over and Willow was running away.
