Summary: Let’s see they’re in high school…umm…to be truthful I don’t know where I’m really headed with this…I just wanted to tell a story.
There she is…mnn…dreamy eyes… “Hey, Will”…sexy smile…”Will?”…and a hot pair of sassy eg- “Will!” Xander spoke for what seemed the millionth time, “Huh, what?” asked the dazed redhead, slightly annoyed at having been interrupted from her Tara-Ogling-Time. “Hey Will, sorry I cut into your TOTs but class is kinda, ya know, over now.” “Oh, yeah guess it sorta is.” She said looking around the empty classroom.
“So, what ya get on the big test?” He asked as they walked towards the cafeteria to spend their lunch period. “Um an ‘A’” She said almost as an afterthought. “An ‘A’…how…but…hey that’s no fair! You don’t even pay attention in that class, you’re too busy starin’ at Tara and droolin’ all over you’re desk.” The boy said, rather loudly.
“Xander! A little louder please, I don’t think they heard you in Japan!” She said looking around the corridor to see if anyone had heard. “Sorry” He replied sheepishly “But I still don’t think its fair.” “Fair, oh yeah ‘cause my life’s just chock full ‘o fairness, what with being the pathetic geek hopelessly in love with the most gorgeous girl in school, who she can’t even talk to, at least not without babbling like some sort of a dummy…and for the record there was no drool.”
“…Hey you did talk to her that one time, remember?” He said trying to cheer his best friend up, choosing not to tell her that there had indeed been just a little bit of drool. “Oh yeah, she came up to me that one time and asked if she could borrow a pen; that’s how she knows me, the handy dandy portable office depot geyser reliable dog person.” She said (and off the record she knew very well there had been drool, but also chose to ignore that fact)
“And you got an ‘A’… in the English test?” He asked incredulously. “You’re not helping.” She let him know. “All right sorry, let’s just go meet Anya and Buffy for lunch…that’ll cheer ya right up.” “Yeah, I’ll just drown my sorrows in cafeteria orange juice” She said sarcastically. “That’s the spirit!” He said with a warm, goofy smile. “Ok, but seriously…that was the worst English” “Just let it go Xand…”
