Irony isn't ironic...it f*ckin sucks

Postby madeira bluegrrl » Tue Jan 20, 2004 5:31 pm

The episode 'The Body' came on today, and it's one of my favorite eps for the intense and honest emotions in it. Even though I have it on tape, I was eager to watch it. The irony of it I guess is that I would be doing my own mourning today.

This afternoon i found out that one of the people that was very important to me in a very pivotal point in my life died. She and I hadn't talked regularly in a while, but when we did it was the best part of my day. She helped me come out to myself.

I never met her in person, but she taught me alot about life because she lived without regret. About Love, because she did it freely. About passion, because she did everything with it. She was my first real crush and I will always love her.

Always for you Nicole(BondageBabe)

Love

Alicia

I know that she probably never came here or that you may not have known her, but i thought that you all would understand because of how close some of you are even if you've never seen each other face to face.

I'm very sorry about your loss, Alicia. Although it doesn't take away the hurt you're feeling now, I believe that those we love return to the :love Love that made them:love . We feel their absence :( , but they're never really gone.

Although I've told this story before, I know all about Real Life Grief and The Body. February 28, 2001: I had just gotten home from church on Ash Wednesday, and was getting ready to watch the tape I had made of The Body earlier that evening (where I live, the WB is always one day later---so BTVS was on Wednesdays). It was at that point that my husband of seven years told me that he had filed for divorce that day, and was leaving me NOW: right that second. :jaw

GG Let's just say that Buffy wasn't the only one left alone wretching and crying on the floor that night. :sob Out

I am very sorry for your loss. :( I never knew or really understood it until I found this board how it is possible to bond with people I never met, but it obviously is, because the friends I made here mean as much to me as the ones I have offline. Meeting some of them in person was wonderful, but I did not care any less when I had not yet met them. Again, I am so sorry you've lost someone you loved.

I also feel for you. I lost a friend of 20 years just before 9/11 and was at the funeral that very day. There's just nothing that can replace the comfort and camraderie of those that mean a lot to us. At least with time their memory remains and they are never trully lost. Good luck through the hard times you're going through.

I'm sending hugs your way, Alicia. I, too, knew Nicole. She was a good friend, and a wonderful person who lived her life with a zeal that we could all aspire to. All of us who knew her at Iap's are missing her right now.

Thank you, Nic, for everything you gave us at Iap's, and everything you gave to the world. You will be missed.
