Mods, if this is the wrong place for this thread, please feel free to delete it.

Woooo Hooo! Finally watched this tonight. This movie is sooo funny and cute! And Ellen as the voice of Dory. :heart I love her! Hee...

I have a major question and I hope someone who purchased the DVD can help me out. Does anyone know how to get the easter eggs? If so, can you tell me what they are?

I was hoping the DVD would have had an interview with the cast or something, but... :cry if it does, I can't find it! *pouts* Can anybody help me out?

Thanks in advance,

Jen

Jen,

This is my daughter's favorite movie right now, and I enjoy watching it over and over again too. It is just too cute!!

Anyway, this is all I have found so far about any easter eggs:

Easter Egg

Finding Nemo

The Easter egg is Hi-Tech Water Filter Infomercial & Dory & Marlin In The Dentist Fishtank/Aquariam

2nd DVD:

1. Hi-Tech Water Filter Infomercial

Go to the Bonus Features menu and then select Knick Knack. Then press right and then down. A green fish symbol should appear to the right of the screen. Click Enter/Select.

2. Dory & Marlin In The Dentist Fishtank/Aquariam

Go to Mr Rays Encyclopedia menu screen and then go down to the return arrow. Then from here press down again. Another green fish symbol should appear in the top left hand corner of the screen. Press Enter/Select.

1st DVD:

Go to the bnous materials and press down and right. Dorrie and Marlin shows up on the screen with a comment.

The other easter egg is in the commentary menu. Go left and up. Dorrie appears with Bruce the shark.

Have fun!!

Anna

Thank you Amber and Alyson!!

This link is for a DVD Easter Eggs forum where they're keeping track of easter eggs on the Nemo DVD. Some have been mentioned above. Hope the link works:

Nemo Easter Eggs

I love Nemo, and I thought Ellen did a great job. This movie is great on so many different levels, but the one area where I thought it was the most unique was how so many of the heroes are handicapped in some way. Nemo has his withered fin, Marlin his severe neurosis, Gill his damaged fin, Dory her poor memory. Yet they all overcome their handicaps to help save the day. I think it offers a great lesson for viewers of all ages.

Jen: I'm sure you found the documentaries on the DVD. The only other place I saw cast members talking was a trailer I got from the Nemo website. It looks like they took the video down, but it was called "Fishy Folks" and they showed the people who voiced the roles. I have it, but it's about 50MB. I could post it on my website if you wanted to download it. Just let me know. :)

Hope Reigns,

Oooh, thank you so much! :bounce I'll have to go back and see if I can get to them. YAY!

Scout,

Thanks for that link. I'll check it out. And YES, I would love to DL that file if it wouldn't be too much trouble for you to upload it. Thank you. :kiss

I'm looking forward to seeing it. It might take me a little bit of time to DL it, but I would love to.

Thanks, sweetie. :bigkiss

Hi Jen,

I compressed the Finding Nemo "Fishy Folks" video clip down to 15 MB. It's 4 1/2 minutes long and shows most of the voice characters. I think the only one missing is Albert Brooks (Marlin).

Brooks was a bit of a jerk after the movie was done, complaining about the pay and the hours, and he did almost no publicity for the film. Unlike Ellen, who realized she was part of a good thing and went on to do a ton of publicity for Nemo. She's a class act. Enjoy! :)

Totally awesome dude! Hee... :kiss Couldn't resist that one!

Thanks so much, girl. I really appreciate you doing that for me. It's all DL'ed and has been watched and I'll have to save that. It's very interesting.

The thing I like about Ellen, is when it IS for a good cause or something to that nature, she comes through. :heart

Thanks again, sweetie. :bigkiss

Who played the dad, anyway? Does anyone have a picture of him? I know the voice, but I can't match the face.

Albert Brooks played the dad, Marlin. Below are some photos. He was really good in "Broadcast News" and "Defending Your Life" - a movie which he wrote and starred in with Meryl Streep.

A Miss Kitty toon? Sadly no. The well has been dry lately, but I haven't given up on trying to come up with more in the future. :)

Enjoy your Nemo! It's sweeeet! :D

I'm so glad there are people out there who can find Easter Eggs! I kept trying, but I only found them when I had directions. Although apparently I found some without realising. Crush's little comments in the scene selection index. Very cute.

I love this movie. :) The dvd is a lot of fun although there's one weird bit. I think it's in the Storytime section and there's a "fake" Dory voice. Sure doesn't sound like Ellen. I guess schedules were conflicting.

Sooooooooooo, beyond Finding Nemo, is anyone a Pixar fan in general? Monsters Inc. is one of my favourite movies ever. I really enjoy all of their movies, but the monsters are just so great.

Yep, I'm a big fan. I collect all their short films too, and love to read about their studio in Emeryville. I'd like to take a tour one day. It sounds like the most amazing place to work.

And I agree, Monsters was actually my favorite Pixar film. Boo was just the cutest thing, and I loved her relationship with Sulley. They did a great job with the Monsters DVD as well. :)

I think this was the cutest movie ever! And i think it grasps my childlike attention because I can understand it easily. I love how Ellen D portrays Dorie. (Although when my mom asked who played the voice and I said ellen d, she had to cringe in disgust, eh) Its such a funny movie and I laugh everytime i see it!

Oh wait, Crush and Squirt also kick ass. Oh, and Pearl! "You made me ink!" And when she twirls! heehee

Ooh, Dory speaking whale. Yeah.

I agree that Pixar is probably one of the coolest places to work. Wowie :)

Sulley and Boo. *happy sigh*

Dory was definitely the best part of the movie for me. Awesome. Coming up second were the fish in the tank.

i've only seen this in cantonese and surprisingly, the dubbing was just as good as the original. also peeked at the Mandarin and Thai dub's provided in the Region 3 dvd disc i have (which didn't sound that great).

decided to watch it in cantonese first because one of my favorite Hong Kong actors Lau Ching-Wan was the voice of Marlin. if John Woo fans are around here, you'd be surprised to hear the voice of Teresa Mo (who plays Chow Yun-Fat's girlfriend in "Hard Boiled"). she did a good job as Dory.

i'm gonna see if those easter eggs work in my copy of the dvd. some easter eggs may be different on different regions.

That's interesting about the different dubbings. I only really appreciated the fine art of dubbing when I watched some of the anime movies that had been dubbed for English-speaking audiences. There really is an art to picking the right voice for the right character, as well as an art to translating the dialogue so that it's as close to the original meaning as you can get.
