Re: songs that remind us of W/T

Hmm yeah find those golden oldies...However by tommorow/today I'll probably have moved onto a different lot of songs! Hmm I just had a thought, has anyone posted "What become of the broken hearted", that is such a beautifully depressing song! I'm starting to lost track of which songs have been posted and which songs I've thought fit W/T!!

Also anyone heard of Beth Nielsen Chapman? A whole lot of her songs fit. As an example (and way off not being yelled at by the mods :) )

"I Keep Coming Back To You"

Seems like after all we've been through

We would have learned by now

Never to fight for gets the last word

It doesn't matter anyhow

But 'round and 'round we go in circles

Trying to work things through

And sometimes it feels like miles between us

But I keep coming back to you

And it's rough

And it's tough

And it's harder than anything I've ever tried to do

But I love you so much that in spite of the struggle

I keep coming back to you

Hold me now, just think about this room

That we have shared so long

We've studied that map of cracks on the ceiling

Talking till the break of dawn

There is something strong as history

Telling me this love is true

They say "Follow your heart and you'll be happy"

So I keep coming back to you

You weren't ever a Dawsons fan were you? Beth Nielsen Chapman sang the song that played in the first big kiss scene: Dawson/Joey. And again there goes a little bit more of my dignity! Dear God I seem to be stuck on two subjects today: Hanson and Dawsons Creek...This IS a Willow/Tara board right?

Every little thing she does is magic

Though I've tried before to tell her

Of the feelings I have for her in my heart

Every time that I come near her

I just lose my nerve

As I've done from the start

Every little thing she does is magic

Everything she do just turns me on

Even though my life before was tragic

Now I know my love for her goes on

Do I have to tell the story

Of a thousand rainy days since we first met

It's a big enough umbrella

But it's always me that ends up getting wet

Every little thing she does is magic

Everything she do just turns me on

Even though my life before was tragic

Now I know my love for her goes on

I resolve to call her up a thousand times a day

And ask her if she'll marry me in some old fashioned way

But my silent fears have gripped me

Long before I reach the phone

Long before my tongue has tripped me

Must I always be alone?

Every little thing she does is magic

Everything she do just turns me on

Even though my life before was tragic

Now I know my love for her goes on

____

and the other...

Black Magic Women

Got a black magic woman

Got a black magic woman

I¡¯ve got a black magic woman

Gotten her so bad that I can¡¯t see

that she¡¯s a black magic woman

She¡¯s trying to make a devil out of me

Turn your back on me baby

Turn your back on me baby

Yes go turn your back on me baby

Start messing around with your tricks

Don¡¯t turn your back on me baby

You just might pick up my magic sticks

Got your spell on me baby

Got your spell on me baby

Yes you got your spell on me baby

Turning my heart into stone

I need you so bad, magic woman

I can¡¯t leave you alone

I am totally outing myself as a complete dork here, but some people on the Uncool Thread were discussing Broadway musicals, so I pulled out my old "Secret Garden" CD and rediscovered this beautiful song. Some background info: One of the main male characters in the play, Archibald, lost his wife 10 years ago and is still in mourning for her. He sees her ghost everywhere he goes and has never gotten over her death. Towards the end of the play, the ghost of his dead wife appears and sings this song to him. I heard this and immediately thought of Tara.

"How Could I Ever Know"

How could I know I would have to leave you?

How could I know I would hurt you so?

You were the one I was born to love.

Oh, how could I ever know?

How could I ever know?

How can I say to go on without me?

How, when I know you still need me so?

How can I say not to dream about me?

How could I ever know?

How could I ever know ?

Forgive me! Can you forgive me,

And hold me in your heart,

And find some new way to love me

Now that we're apart?

How could I know I would never hold you,

Never again in this world? But oh,

Sure as you breathe, I am there inside you!

How could I ever know?

How could I ever know?

~~~~~~~~~~
"Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. It's harsh, and cruel. But that's why there's us. Champions.
It doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done or suffered, or even if we make a difference.
We live as though the world was what it should be, to show it what it can be." -- Angel
Die Another Day
Postby famer » Thu Oct 17, 2002 12:49 pm
Of course, this had to be listed. It's Tara in denial prior to SR or in AU, resurrected Tara.
"Die Another Day" by the 'donna
I'm gonna wake up, yes and no
I'm gonna kiss some part of
I'm gonna keep this secret
I'm gonna close my body now
I guess I'll die another day (Another day) x 5
Sigmund Freud
Analyze this x 3
I'm gonna break the cycle
I'm gonna shake up the system
I'm gonna destroy my ego
I'm gonna close my body now
I think I'll find another way
There's so much more to know
I guess I'll die another day
It's not my time to go
For every sin, I'll have to pay
I've come to work, I've come to play
I think I'll find another way
It's not my time to go
I'm gonna avoid the cliche
I'm gonna suspend my senses
I'm gonna delay my pleasure
I'm gonna close my body now
I guess I'll die another day x 4
I think I'll find another way
There's so much more to know
I guess I'll die another day
It's not my time to go
[Laugh]
I guess I'll die another day x 4
Another day x 6
Songs that remind us of W/T
Postby MsTizzyFantastico » Thu Oct 17, 2002 8:02 pm
I don't think anyone's posted this song yet, but I heard it and thought it fit W/T's love so well. In my own little world, I'd love to think that this played at their wedding. :heart
I Will Love You- Fisher
Till my body is dust
Till my soul is no more
I will love you
Love you
Till the sun starts to cry
And the moon turns to rust
I will love you
Love you
But I need to know
Will you stay for all time
Forever and a day
And I'll give my heart
Till the end or our time
Forever and a day
The song, if you haven't heard it is this beautiful, slow love song, and I can just imagine in my head Tara singing it to Willow.
Here's a song that reminds me of Willow & Tara. It's bouncy and sweet. Who knew Courtney Love had it in her??? Anyhoot, it's off of "Celebrity Skin"10th track!
Heaven Tonight
Here comes the sun in the form of a girl
She's the finest sweetest thing in the world
Take you to heaven tonight
I hear the horses come galloping in the summer rain
Take you to heaven tonight
Cuz I love you, for what you are
I will gallop to you
Tonight tonight
I will ride, I will give in to you
We're going to heaven tonight
Tonight tonight
I don't know why I couldn't wait
Oh baby, I was afraid
Headin' for heaven tonight
I'll go heaven tonight
I feel the horses come galloping, I will never grow old
I'll go to heaven tonight
Because I love you, for what you are
I will gallop to you
Tonight tonight
I will ride, I will bow down to you
We're going to heaven tonight
Tonight, tonight
Tonight, tonight
I can't believe that I can be happy
Summer will come again, I can be happy
Oh stop your cryin', you could be happy
Go to heaven, when you make me happy
Here comes a kiss that I never had, nothing feels like this
Headin' for heaven tonight
I love you
Here comes a storm in the form of a girl
She's the finest sweetest thing in the world
I'll go to heaven, for what you are
I will gallop to you
Tonight, tonight
I will ride, I will bow down to you
We're going to heaven tonight
Tonight, tonight
Tonight, tonight
Tonight, tonight
Tonight, tonight
Shawn Mullins - Song to the Self
Be good to you
take care of you
shake loose of those self-help blues
you gotta lot of livin' to do
can't be givin' up on you
sometimes the stars or the moon gonna play a trick on you
and I will try to believe what you tell me
and I will try to be true to my self
cause I'm as free as I ever will be
so don't be tryin' so hard
don't be feelin' discarded
just feel that love surround
cause there's a whole lot there
a whole lot waitin' to be shared
there's still enough to go around
and I will try to believe what you tell me
and I will try to be true to myself
cause I'm as free as I ever will be
but where do I begin
is there god within
sometimes I'm not so sure
so won't you teach to me
but keep it simple please
would you help a friend who's feeling low
would you help a friend who's feeling low...
Adding up the total of a love that's true, multiply life by the power of two
yeah, i agree. Better than ice cream really is a very willow-tara song.
But, everytime I hear it, I always picture willow existing in the words, but tara singing them.
How off is that?
___
Ok, can you tell it's been one of those days? I think personally that so many songs remind me of those two. And it doesnt help that i make these connections at the most inconvenient times. Anyhow..
I offer for consideration Melissa Ferrick songs. I cant tell you how many of those remind me a BUNCH of w/t.
And while on the topic, let me add a few others.
and damn if I dont think of Linda Dunns' -- this time tomorrow when i replay willow and tara and the various leavings and coming back...
and hm... alison krauss.. heck I think that woman is bloody amazing at nailing this kinda relationship.
And jeez, i mean I have to lead this to the conclusion that we could now actually come up with the power list of "108 songs to f**k your girlfriend to..": -->>:
_______
Another one! 'Feels like home to me' by Chantal Kreviazuk.
This one reminds me of when they get back together
......................................................................
Somthing in your eyes makes me want to lose myself
Makes me want to lose
Myself in your arms
There's somthing in your voice
Makes my heart beat fast
Hope this feeling lasts
The rest of my life
If you knew how lonely my life has been and how long iv'e felt so low
And if you knew how I wanted someone to come along
And change my life the way you've done
feel like home to me
Feels like home to me
Feel like im all the way back where I come from
Feels like home to me
Feels like home to me
Feels like im all the way back where I belong
A window breaks down a long dark street and a siron wails in the night
But im alright
Cause I have you here with me
And I can almost see
Through the dark there is light
If you knew how much this moment means to me
And how long I've waited for your touch and if you knew how happy you are making me
I never thought that I'd love anyone so much
It feels like im all the way back where I belong
I feel very soppy now :love
A couple of rock ballads :blush :
IN THESE ARMS by BON JOVI
You want commitment, take a look into these eyes,
They burn with fire, yeah, until the end of time,
And I would do anything, I'd beg, I'd steal, I'd die,
To have you in these arms tonight
Baby, I want you, like the roses want the rain,
You know I need you, like a poet needs the pain,
And I would give anything, my blood, my love, my life
If you were in these arms tonight
I'd hold you, I'd need you, I'd get down on my knees for you,
And make everything all right,
If you were in these arms
I'd love you, I'd please you, I'd tell you that I'd never leave you,
And love you till the end of time,
If you were in these arms tonight,
Oh yeah
You said I feel some and we made a promise,
A promise this world, who'd never blind us,
And these were our words; our words were our songs,
Our songs are our prayers; these prayers keep me strong,
And I still believe, if you were in these arms,
I'd hold you, I'd need you, I'd get down on my knees for you,
And make everything all right,
If you were in these arms
I'd love you, I'd please you, I'd tell you that I'd never leave you,
And love you till the end of time,
If you were in these arms tonight
Your clothes are still scattered all over our room,
This whole place still smells like your cheap perfume,
Everything here reminds me of you,
There's nothing I wouldn't do
And these were our words; they keep me strong, baby
I'd hold you, I'd need you, I'd get down on my knees for you,
And make everything all right,
If you were in these arms
I'd love you, I'd please you, I'd tell you that I'd never leave you,
And love you till the end of time,
If you were in these arms tonight
If you were in these arms tonight,
If you were in these arms tonight,
If you were in these arms tonight,
If you were in these arms, baby,
Like the roses need the rain, like the seasons need to change,
Like a poet needs the pain, I need you, if you were in these arms tonight
ESTRANGED by GUNS N' ROSES
When you're talking to yourself, and nobody's home
You can fool yourself, you came in this world alone (alone)
So nobody ever told you baby how it was gonna be
So what'll happen to you baby, guess we'll have to wait and see
One, two
Old at heart but I'm only 28
And I'm much too young to let love break my heart
Young at heart but it's getting much too late
To find ourselves so far apart
I don't know how you're s'posed to find me lately
And what more could you ask from me
How could you say that I never needed you
When you took everything
Said you took everything from me
Young at heart and it gets so hard to wait
When no one I know can seem to help me now
Old at heart but I mustn't hesitate
If I'm to find my own way out
Still talkin' to myself and nobody's home (alone)
So nobody ever told us baby how it was gonna be
So what'll happen to us baby, guess we'll have to wait and see
When I find out all the reasons
Maybe I'll find another way
Find another day
With all the changing seasons of my life
Maybe I'll get it right next time
And now that you've been broken down
Got your head out of the clouds
You're back down on the ground
And you don't talk so loud
And you don't walk so proud
Anymore, and what for
Well I jumped into the river
Too many times to make it home
I'm out here on my own, and drifting all alone
If it doesn't show, give it time to read between the lines
'Cause I see this storm is getting closer
And the waves they get so high
Seems everything we've ever known's here
Why must it drift away and die
I'll never find anyone to replace you
Guess I'll have to make it through, this time
Oh this time
Without you
I knew the storm was getting closer
And all my friends said I was high
But everything we've ever known's here
I never wanted it to die
That's When You Come To Me, by george (an Australian band)
It's four past the shaking hands
and the house is shouting
and the wide ocean's smile
is two mountains away
If the burning laughter refracts out the window
and too many threads are pulled
and leaves a mark on your night-face
as red as Shanghai in Autumn Moon
If the frozen-flat birds can thaw
to soar north against the wind
and stare across this great wide
land with faith and feather
You'll know I'll be there - my love
If I'm drowning serenely
and the browning and the torn
picture of your unshakeable smile
breathes life into my eyes
I'll always be seeing you - my love
When the brush is out of paint
and we stroke the gaps full
of silence and restraint
and the canvas starts to peel
that's when, that’s when, I'll take your hand
Another song by george, 'Breath in Now' is so beautiful. It's really worth downloading.
Alot of songs remind me but here's one, I'm sorry if it was already brought up (I haven't read the whole thread) I thought it fit perfectly..
311-Chaos
Amber
Brainstorm
take me away from the norm
I got to tell you something
this phenomenon
I had to put it in a song
and it goes like
Whoa, amber is the color of your energy
whoa, shades of gold displayed naturally
you ought to know what brings me here
you glide through my head blind to fear
and I know why
whoa, amber is the color of your energy
whoa, shades of gold displayed naturally
Whoa, amber is the color of your energy
whoa, shades of gold displayed naturally
You live too far away
your voice rings like a bell anyway
don't give up your independence
unless it feels so right
nothing good comes easily
sometimes you gotta fight
Whoa, amber is the color of your energy
whoa, shades of gold displayed naturally
launched a thousand ships in my heart, so easy
still it's fine from afar, and you know that
whoa, brainstorm take me away from the norm
whoa, I got to tell you something
Tk's new and improved "GrrArgg"...Tk's Heaven
Tara was similarly riveted, her body on slow burn as Willow's lips parted and her mouth opened, the food slipping inside and being consumed. Never in her life had Tara ever wanted to be a chicken casserole so badly... Not sure if these songs have been posted on this thread before .... I am mentioning them now because I've been listening to my Martina McBride Greatest Hits CD recently, and I am now determined to do W/T vids to both of these songs. Especially the first one. Grad school be damned. :)
--------------------
Tara, singing to Willow:
There You Are by Martina McBride
There you are, in the early light of day
There you are, in the quiet words I pray
I've been blessed by the simple happiness
Of the perfect love we've made
Every time I turn around
When I'm lost and when I'm found
Like an angel standing guard, there you are
Every time I take a breath
And when I forget to breathe
You're watching over me; there you are
When I'm looking for the light
In the middle of the night
Searching for the brightest star, there you are
There you are, standing in a crowded room
There you are, the earth and I'm the moon
My desire is to stand by the fire
That burns inside of you
Every time I turn around
When I'm lost and when I'm found
Like an angel standing guard, there you are
Every time I take a breath
And when I forget to breathe
You're watching over me; there you are
When I'm looking for the light
In the middle of the night
Searching for the brightest star, there you are
When I'm looking for the light
In the middle of the night
Searching for the brightest star, there you are
There you are
There you are
--------------------
Willow, singing to Tara:
Valentine by Martina McBride
If there were no words
No way to speak
I would still hear you
If there were no tears
No way to feel inside
I'd still feel for you
And even if the sun refused to shine
Even if romance ran out of rhyme
You would still have my heart until the end of time
You're all I need, my love, my valentine
All of my life
I have been waiting for
All you give to me
You've opened my eyes
And showed me how to love unselfishly
I've dreamed of this a thousand times before
But in my dreams I couldn't love you more
I will give you my heart until the end of time
You're all I need, my love, my valentine
And even if the sun refused to shine
Even if romance ran out of rhyme
You would still have my heart until the end of time
'Cause all I need is you, my valentine
Oh, you're all I need, my love, my valentine
It doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done or suffered, or even if we make a difference.
We live as though the world was what it should be, to show it what it can be." -- Angel
Tears In Heaven - Lyrics
by Eric Clapton and Will Jennings
Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong
And carry on,
'Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven.
Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven?
I'll find my way
Through night and day,
'Cause I know I just can't stay
Here in heaven.
Time can bring you down,
Time can bend your knees.
Time can break your heart,
Have you begging please, begging please.
Beyond the door,
There's peace I'm sure,
And I know there'll be no more
Tears in heaven.
Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong
And carry on,
'Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven
Tara nodded in agreement "She has magic fingers." TheWisdom of War, Chris Golden
