Oh my, I just came across some old songs of mine.. and here I sit, crying, and listening to George Michael's "Jesus to a Child".. I am such an emotional wuzz lately.. And the song is so sad, and the lyrics are so touching, and ominous all the same, because they indicate a Ghost Tara.. but it is still a wonderfull song. *sniff*

George Michael

Jesus To A Child

kindness in your eyes

I guess you heard me cry

you smiled at me

like Jesus to a child

I'm blessed I know

heaven sent and heaven stole

you smiled at me like

Jesus to a child

and what have I learned

from all this pain

I thought I'd never feel the same

about anyone or anything again

but now I know

when you find a love

when you know that it exists

then the lover that you miss

will come to you on those cold, cold nights

when you've been loved

when you know it holds such bliss

then the lover that you kissed

will comfort you when there's no hope in sight

sadness in my eyes

no one guessed, well no one tried

you smiled at me

like Jesus to a child

loveless and cold

with your last breath you saved my soul

you smiled at me

like Jesus to a child

and what have I learned

from all these tears

I've waited for you all those years

then just when it began

he took your love away

but I still say

chorus

so the words you could not say

I'll sing them for you

and the love we would have made

I'll make it for two

for every single memory

has become a part of me

you will always be…my love

well I've been loved

so I know just what love is

and the lover that I kissed is always by my side

oh the lover I still miss…was Jesus to a child.

And see, the second verse talks about it all.. Willow's loneliness before Tara appeared in her life. The other Scoobies who didn't see how Willow feels or what happened and even Warren, who took Tara's love away from Willow.

Blood and Fire by the Indigo Girls. One of my favorites of theirs, and one that always has seemed to be sung by one woman to her girlfriend, even before the Indigo Girls came out.

Blood and Fire

I have spent nights with matches and knives

leaning over ledges only two flights up

cutting my heart, burning my soul

nothing left to hold

nothing left but blood and fire.

You have spent nights thinking of me

missing my arms but you needed to leave

leaving my cuts, leaving my burns

hoping I'd learn.

But blood and fire are too much for these restless arms to hold

and my nights of desire they're calling me

back to your fold

and I am calling you, calling you

from 10,000 miles away

won't you whet my fire with your love

babe.

I am looking for someone who can take as much as I give

and give back as much as I need

you know and they still have the will to live - ah no

cause I am intense, I am in need

I am in pain, I am in love

and I feel forsaken you know

like the things I gave away

And blood and fire

are too much for these restless arms to hold

and my nights of desire they're calling me

back to your fold

and I am calling you, calling you

from 10,000 miles away

won't you whet my fire with your love babe.

I am intense, I am in need, I am in pain, I am in love

you know I am intense, I am in need, I am in pain, I am in love

I am intense, I am in need, I am in pain, I am in love

and blood and fire

are too much for these restless arms to hold

and my nights of desire they're calling me

back to your fold

and I am calling you, calling you

from 10,000 miles away

won't you whet my fire with your love

babe

won't you whet my fire with your love

babe now

whet my fire with your love

This is such a cool thread :) Mollyig made me aware I actually have the song "Everything and more" since I have a copy of Krezip's CD, not the lyrics. And I also got "Blood and fire". Didn't know The Indigo Girls were lesbians, though, before I came to this board. Just saw their CD at a cheap price, knew they were singer-songwriter-like. Guess you learn something every day.

Anyway, in this stressful examperiod I need something to get my hopes up. I was listening to this song: the following lyrics are really wishful thinking. Read they are going to shoot in London or somewhere, and the whole "going somewhere, doing something with someone" got to me. In a desperate attempt to be prophetic, psychic. Hell, I think I'm gonna write some fanfic around this song. This one's for you, W/T ;)

LONDON RAIN (Nothing heals me like you do) - HEATHER NOVA

I'm coming home to you

I'm alive I'm a mess

I can't wait to get home to you

To get warm and undressed

There've been changes beyond my dreams

Everybody wants me to sing

There' ve been changes beyond my grasp

Things I'm sinking in

(chorus)

So keep me in your bed all day

Nothing heals me like you do

And when somebody knows yo well

Well there's no comfort like that

And when somebody needs you

Well there's no drug like that

(chorus)

And when I'm home curled in your arms

And I'm safe again

I'll close my eyes and sleep

To the sound of London rain

(chorus)

Nothing falls like London Rain

Nothing heals me like you do

Nothing falls like London Rain

Nothing heals me like you do

Oh good call Arafel the Witch with "Blood and Fire".

Ahem, can you tell I'm an Indigo Girls fan?

Killin Joke, a Dutch friend gave me a mix tape with Krezip's song "I would stay", and I was so impressed that I bought the album.

Yeah, my northern neighbours sure know how to make good music, mollyig. The people in the band are all still very young, but incredibly talented. The piano play in "I would stay" is touching, but the rest of the album isn't too shabby either, as you already know ;)

Well, I think most of Bjork songs could apply to the level of sweetnes (and rah-rah girl accents) that Willow and Tara's relationship has. "Better Than Ice Cream" by Sarah M. (which I have seen posted in this thread) is yet one more good song (especially considering how much of a chocaholic Willow is.) Still, I find myself leaning towards U2's "I Will Follow" as one poignat W/T song (especially because of the references to being an outsider and the whole 'window' verse.) All in all, I see the POV as Tara's. I was listening to the Best of U2 cd the other day and practically got goosebumps when I heard this song:

I WILL FOLLOW

by U2

I was on the outside, when you said,

You said you needed me,

I was looking at myself, I was blind

I could not see.

A boy tries hard to be a man,

His mother takes him by the hand,

If he stops to think, he starts to cry.

Oh why?

CHORUS

If you walkaway, walkaway

walkaway, walkaway--I will follow

I was on the inside,

When they pulled the four walls down,

I looked through the window, I was lost,

I am found.

Chorus

(Your eyes make a circle,

I see you when I go there.)

Chorus

I will follow

I will follow

"Never Forget You", by Mariah Carey

I won't see your smile

And I won't hear you laugh anymore

Every night, I won't see you walk through that door

'cause time wasn't on our side

It isn't right

I can't say I love you

It's too late to tell you

But, I really need you to know

No, I'll never forget you

I'll never let you out of my heart

You will always be here with me

I'll hold on to the memories baby

Baby can you hear me

Wherever you may be tonight

Are you near me

I need you to be by my side

"Cause I never said goodbye

It isn't right

I should have said I love you

Why didn't I just tell you

God know's I need you to know

No, I'll never forget you

I'll never let you out of my heart

You will always be here with me

I'll hold onto the memories baby

Somewhere I know you'll be with me

Someday in another time

But right now you're gone

You just vanished away

But, I'll never leave you behind

No, I'll never forget you

I'll never let you out of my heart

You will always be here with me

I'll hold onto the memories baby.

I love this song....it makes me cry, but I love it. :cry Now everytime I hear it....I think of :willow and :tara :(

I've been through most of this thread and I don't think this one has been posted. It's "Without You" from RENT

Without you

The ground thaws

The rain falls

The grass grows

Without you

The seeds root

The flowers bloom

The children play

The stars gleam

The poets dream

The eagles fly

Without you

The earth turns

The sun burns

But I die

Without you

Without you

The breeze warms

The girl smiles

The cloud moves

Without you

The tides change

The boys run

The oceans crash

The crowds roar

The days soar

The babies cry

Without you

The moon glows

The river flows

But I die

Without you

The world revives

Colors renew

But I know blue

Only blue

Lonely blue

Within me, blue

Without you

Without you

The hand gropes

The ear hears

The pulse beats

Without you

The eyes gaze

The legs walk

The lungs breathe

The mind churns

The heart yearns

The tears dry

Without you

Life goes on

But I'm gone

Cause I die

Without you

Without you

Without you

Without you

Hmmm ya know, I just can't say enough how Amanda Marshall can turn wistful longing into such a painful, sensitive thing. The songs that make me think of W/T the most (and I'm sure that I'm repeated myself...heh..) are If I Didn't Have You and Wishful Thinking. Ahhh man, they pull at the heartstrings.

Ooh, love her ! :) Bought her latest CD "Everybody's got a story" After Sarah McLachlan, Amanda Marshall's definitely one of my favourite singer-songwriters. Very touching songs indeed.

This song would reflect, i think, how Willow feels about losing Tara after her dark magic OD.

Naked To The Pain – James Bonamy

When I promised you

That I would be strong

It was not a lie

It's just that I was wrong

There's no way I'd ever guess

I'd be so defenseless

Chorus:

I have walls against the wind

I find shelter in my friends

There's some comfort in the wine

If I can sleep

It buys me time

I can duck out of the rain

But there's no hiding from the truth

I'm still naked to the pain of losin' you

I can't build a door

That you can't drift through

When I close my eyes

I still dream of you

Don't you know when you love someone

There's no protection

Chorus

I can duck out of the rain

But there's no hiding from the truth

I'm still naked to the pain of losin' you

this one's from a local band "Barbie's Cradle" but I immediately thought of W/T after hearing it...

if i leave in silence would you notice me

would you hate my absence would you drown in your misery if i leave with a reason would you argue to your grave

would you hold on to a promise like a master keeps a slave

i throw the question to see if you feel the same because

there is nothing i wouldn't sacrifice for you, baby

i am too tired to cry don't you leave me to die

i have become at peace as you set me free

on my last confession the final breath i take

will you look at me in the eyes and say my name

the only consolation is you remember me that way

with the butterflies and the happy times we made

and i throw the question to see if you feel the same

because there is nothing to replace you, baby

...this song actually made me cry. and crying is a bad thing for a bitch like me... or at least it ruins my rep.

Here's my small list of songs, from the start of Willow and Tara's relationship onwards...

MR MAN by TWARRES

(New Moon Rising - when Willow chooses Tara and Oz leaves)

Hey Mister Man I really do think you should go now

I really don't want to be with you,

You know, so go now

Hey Mister Man

You've got to leave

I don't believe you

Just understand me

You've been here for a long time, so move on

Find yourself a new place, where you belong

Hey Mister Man

You've got to leave

I don't believe you

Just understand me

Hey Mister Man

You've got to leave

I don't believe you

Just understand me

Hey Mister Man (go now...)

Hey Mister Man (go now...)

Hey Mister Man (go now...)

Hey Mister Man (go now...)

Hey Mister Man (go now...)

Hey Mister Man (go now...)

It's time for you to understand

Forget about it Mister Man

It's time for you to understand

Forget about it Mister Man

Oh, oh, oh, go Mister Man

Oh, oh, oh, go now

Oh, oh, oh, go Mister Man

Oh, oh, oh, go now

YOU GOT IT by WHOOPI GOLDBERG, from the Boys on the Side soundtrack album

(Tough Love - Tara is brain sucked and Willow decides to take care of her)

Every time I look into your lovely eyes,

I see a love that money just can't buy...

...One look from you, I drift away,

I pray that you are here to stay

Anything you want, you got it

Anything you need, you got it

Anything at all, you got it, baby

Every time I hold you I begin to understand

Everything about you tells me I'm your best friend

So I live my life to be with you

'Cause no one can do the things you do

Anything you want, you got it

Anything you need, you got it

Anything at all, you got it, baby

Anything you need

Anything you want, you know that you've got it

You got it

Anything you need, you got it

YOUR DECISIONS by TWARRES

(Between Once More With Feeling and Tabula Rasa - Tara finds out that Willow has been magically tampering with her mind)

I hear your voice every minute, every hour

And time and time again you say you must go on,

Walking up and down the stairs all afternoon

'Cause if you don't then you will die tomorrow

And I can't handle it any longer anymore

And if you don't stop, then I'm really gonna go crazy

I can hear you talking in my head

You make decisions for me, but I won't

Aaahh

I see your face every minute, every hour

And time and time again you charm me with your lies

Your magic eyes are so beautiful and deep

'Cause when I look in them, they make me someone else

And I can't handle it any longer anymore

And if you don't stop, them I'm really gonna go crazy

I can hear you talking in my head

You make decisions for me, but I won't

Aaahh

When you were too tired and gave up the fight

You lost your hold on me, I left you to yourself

Now I'll see things I really want to see

No one will tell me what to do anymore

And I can't handle it any longer anymore

And if you don't stop, then I'm really gonna go crazy

I can hear you talking in my head

You make decisions for me, but I won't

Aaahh

I can hear you talking

I can hear you talking

I can hear you talking

Talking in my head

I can hear you talking

I can hear you talking

Talking in my head

I can hear you talking in my head

You make decisions for me, but I won't

Aaahh

MY HEART IS HURTING PART 1, from the Xena episode The Bitter Suite, adapted from the original song

(Immediately after Seeing Red - either Willow to Warren in Villains, or the W/T fans to JW)

My heart is hurting beyond words; the pain is tearing up my soul.

These days have seen my spirit die; my life propelled out of control.

My wounds lie naked to the world, my depth of suffering exposed.

This damaged past can never heal until this nightmare book is closed.

My heart is hurting beyond words; the pain is tearing up my soul.

Please tell me how can I retrieve the life that all this sadness stole.

Because of you this happened, because you had to carry out your vengeful little plan.

It's you who should feel guilty, because of you my [Tara's] dead; [her] blood is on your hands.

If only you have never brought me there.

If only you had done what you were told.

It's you who's to be blamed.

And you should be ashamed.

It's your fault.

No, it's yours.

How could you?

How could you!

STANDING STILL by TWARRES

(After Seeing Red - Willow after Tara's death)

Walking around at the place, there where you lost sight of your life

Trees were green, sky was blue and the train was yellow and hard

Did the birds stop singing for a while, did they see you at all

Did the world's heart miss a beat

Standing still for a while, try to follow the train of your thoughts

Questions rise in my mind, I'll just let them take their course

If the birds stopped singing for a while, if they had a story to tell

Then my heart would miss a beat

When you closed your eyes, did you know what was wrong

If you could open your eyes again, would you be more strong

I'll move on, in a while but for now I'm standing here

Not a word through the years, but you meant so much to me

I still have so many things to ask to you, but you only said good luck girl, and goodbye

When you closed your eyes, did you know what was wrong

If you could open your eyes again, would you be more strong

I was just listening to my broadway CDs, and I pulled out 'Ragtime'. There's this one song from it called Coalhouse's Soliloquy that is sort of reflective on what Willow is feeling after Tara dies. Here's the lyrics:

Say goodbye to music

Say goodbye to light

Anything I care for take it from my sight

Let me see no future

Let me hear no sound,

Only darkness and pain

The anger and pain

The blood and the pain

They buried my heart in the ground

In the ground

When they buried you in the ground

Sara, my life has changed

Sara, the world has changed

I see your face

And we will ride

On the wheels of a new dream, Sara

A new day Sara

Now I'll play them the music of something beginning

An era exploding

A century spinning

My law and my justice

In rythym and rhyme

Listen to that ragtime

Also, 'One Sweet Day' by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men.

And can we just skip it? Can - can you just be kissing me now?

Okay, no Wimbledon today so having severe withdrawl symptoms and I was just burning cd's, nothing out of the ordinary, when I stumbled upon this "Verve" album/cd and there's a song called "Weeping Willow" which I hadn't noticed before (got this album for like 2 years now so I have a good excuse to be not yet familiar with the titles... :) ). Checking out the lyrics got me this,it's kinda weird:

**

Artist: Verve

Album: Urban Hymns

Song: Weeping Willow

================

When morning breaks

We hide our eyes and our love's aching

Nothing's strange

It was in our hands from 6 to 10

It slipped right out again

There'll be no better time

There'll be no better way

There'll be no better day to save me

Save me

Yeah, save me

I hope you see like I see

I hope you see what I see

I hope you feel like I feel

And the world don't stop

There is no time for cracking up

Believe me friend

'Cause when freedom comes

I'll be long gone

You know it has to end

There'll be no better time

There'll be no better way

There'll be no better day to save me

Save me

Yeah, save me

Yeah, save me

I hope you see what I see

I hope you feel like I feel

Someone to stand beside me

Beside me

Beside me

Beside me

Beside me

Weeping willow

The pills under my pillow

Weeping willow

Pills under my pillow

Weeping willow

The Gun under your pillow

Weeping willow

Beside me

Beside me

Beside me

Beside me

wtf?! eerie.....

Bought the Norah Jones album, and this song reminded me of Tara, 'cause of the "crooked little smile" line.

Seven Years

Spinning, laughing, dancing to

Her favorite song

A little girl with nothing wrong

Is all alone

Eyes wide open

Always hoping for the sun

And she'll sing her song to anyone

That comes along

Fragile as a leaf in autumn

Just fallin' to the ground

Without a sound

Crooked little smile on her face

Tells a tale of grace

That's all her own

Spinning, laughing, dancing to

Her favorite song

A little girl with nothing wrong

And she's all alone

Adding up the total of a love that's true, multiply life by the power of two

Okay, I am developing a bit of a crush on Shakira, hum I saw her on a Dutch TV show answering questions from the audience and she was so sweet and well spoken, and well she has this very distinct recognizable voice, which I happen to love. Anyway, just about every song I like reminds me of Willow and Tara, but the first verse of this one just amuses me highly. Hee, just pretend it is Tara singing to Willow instead of Shakira, and Willow, well Willow has a lot of freckles now doesn't she? And ten million ways, oh yeah...:grin

*edited because the site where I stole these lyrics from obviously did not use the song text from the CD and misunderstood certain words even worse than I did.

=============================================

Shakira

Song Title: Whenever Wherever

Lucky you were born that far away so

We could both make fun of distance

Lucky that I love a foreign land for

The lucky fact of your existence

Baby I would climb the Andes solely

To count the freckles on your body

Never could imagine there were only

ten Million ways to love somebody

Le do le le le le

Le do le le le le

Can't you see...

I'm at your feet

Whenever, wherever

We're meant to be together

I'll be there and you'll be near

And that's the deal my dear

Thereover, Hereunder

You'll never have to wonder

We can always play by ear

But that's the deal my dear

Lucky that my lips not only mumble

They spill kisses like a fountain

Lucky that my breasts are small and humble

So you don't confuse them with mountains

Lucky I have strong legs like my mother

To run for cover when I need it

And these two eyes are for no other

The day you leave we'll cry a river

Le do le le le le

Le do le le le le

At your feet...

I'm at your feet

Whenever, Wherever

We're meant to be together

I'll be there and you'll be near

And that's the deal my dear

Thereover, Hereunder

You'll never have to wonder

We can always play by ear

But that's the deal my dear

Le do le le le le

Le do le le le le

Think out loud

Say it again

Le do le le le le

Le do le le le le

Tell me one more time

That you'll live

Lost in my eyes

Whenever, wherever

We'll meant to be together

I'll be there and you'll be near

And that's the deal my dear

Hereover, Thereunder

You've got me head over heels

There's nothing left to fear

If you really feel the way I feel

=============================================

I would not call her breast small and humble though, odd lyrics those, but well, as long as it rhymes I guess.

Heh, that is actually the first time I payed attention to the lyrics of this song. (Btw, I just love Shakira's accent, I find it rather sexy).

And I notice that she uses very physical/sensual lyrics or metaphors.. if metaphors at all. I think I am liking that. She seems to be in touch with her body.. :grin

But.. climbing the Andes and then counting the freckles on Willow's body. That could take a lifetime. But what a way to spend your life :D

I think Power of Two By the indigo girls are pretty good...

now the parking lot is empty everyone's gone someplace

i pick you up and in the trunk iv'e packed a cooler and a 2 day suitcase cause there's a place

we like to drive way out in the country live miles out of the city limit we're

singing and your hands upon my knee so we're okay we're fine baby i'm here

to stop your crying chase all the ghosts from your head i'm stronger than the

monster beneath your bed smarter than the tricks played on your heart we'll

look at them together then we'll take them apart adding up the total of a love

that's true multiply life by the power of two you know the things that i am

afraid of i'm not afraid to tell and if we'll ever leave a legacy it'll that we loved

each other well i've seen the shadows of so many people trying on the treasures

of youth a road that fancy and fast ends in a fatal crash and i'm glad we got off

to tell you the truth cause we're okay we're fine baby i'm here to stop your crying

chase all the ghosts from your head i'm stronger than the monster beneath your

bed smarter than the tricks played on your heart we'll look at them together then

we'll take them apart adding up the total of a love that's true multiply life by the

power of two all the shiny little trinkets of temptation (make new friends) something

new instead of something old (but keep the old) all you gotta do is scratch beneath the

surface (and remember what is gold) and it's fools gold fools gold fools gold (what is gold

what is gold) and now we're talking about a difficult thing and your eyes are getting wet

but i took us for better and i took us for worse and don't you ever forget it is the steel bars

between me and a promise suddenly bend with ease and the closer i'm bound in love to you the

closer i am to free so we're okay we're fine baby i'm here to stop your crying chase all the ghosts

from your head i'm stronger than the monster beneath your bed smarter than the tricks played on

your heart we'll look at them together then we'll take 'em apart adding up the total of a love that's

true multiply life by the power of two

i love the indigo girls!!!

anyway a song that reminds me off Willow and Tara would have to be For You by Tracy Chapman.

There're no words to say

No words to convey

This feeling inside I have for you

Deep in my heart

Save from the guards

Of intellect and reason

Leaving me at a loss

For words to express my feelings

Deep in my heart

Look at me losing control

Thinking I had a hold

But with feelings this strong

I'm no longer the master

Of my emotions

i think that the words are so beautiful, and Tracy Chapman has such a lovely voice it just makes a great combination.

A song that really reminds me of Willow and Tara is "Willow, Willow" by the sixties rock group Love. Not just for the obvious title :) but the lyrics remind me of what might have been going through Tara's mind right around the "I am, you know, yours," scene.

"Willow, Willow" by Love

Oh no, oh no

You don't have to explain it, anymore

You told me once

All I did was complain, but, that was long before,

now I'm assurred

I'm not all alone in my lonely world

growing I know

look and I'll see only one girl

Willow, Willow

Why do you bend so slowly

but positively

I saw you grow

up from the ground came the top half,

of irresistable you

you know it too

you're not all alone in your lonely world

growing you know,

look and you see it's a shining world

Oh no, Oh no,

You don't have to explain it,

anymore

You told me twice,

all I did was complain, but,

that was long before,

now I'm assurred, I'm not all alone in my lonely world

growing I know,

look and I'll see it's a shining world

There's another song that remind me of Wil and Tara, not so much their relationship, but how ME handled it, and how betrayed and lied to I feel as a fan. (Ironically, the song is called "Was it a Lie?" ) The song is about how violence against women is exploited in the media, and turned into entertainment, and is based on a true story - real video of a woman being killed was looped on the internet and shown on tv. :( Anyway, the latter half of the song especially sums up how I feel about ME's lies about W/T for the past few yrs. as well as their suddenly using violence against women for ratings last season.

"Was It a Lie" by Sleater Kinney

The yard was cold and dark

The tracks were clearly marked

But she was tired/she didn't see

She was just out alone

She wasn't going home

She was going somewhere far away

The train was moving through

As we know the world has to do

Everyone will say it was her fault

Somewhere a camera is placed

Inside this awful place

The accident is about to start

Was it a lie?

Did it fill your head

Did it entertain?

Will you feel alive

at the end of it?

When the collision came

She died right away

Her body flung almost sixty feet

And as she split in two

Was she coming straight for you

And do you have a camera or a face?

Was she your TV show

Was she your video

A woman's pain never private, always seen

I want to close my eyes

I want to cut the wires

I want a day not made for you to see

Was it a lie?

And when you play it back to me, it feels more like a parody

And that's all it will ever be, it's all I will ever be

I really don't care about it, I don't care if it's cold

I really want to be the prettiest wreck you've seen

(You broadcast it in 50 states

Looped her death on the internet

And a woman's life got cheaper that day

A woman's life got cheaper that day)

Just heard this lovely song by Josh Groban and it really reminded me of Willow and how she could feel after Tara's death. Not when she's angry and DMW but now, that she's just Willow again and trying to live without Tara.

"To Where You Are"

Who can say for certain

Maybe you're still here

I feel you all around me

Your memory's so clear

Deep in the stillness

I can hear you speak

You're still my inspiration

Can it be

That you are my

Forever love

And you are watching over me

From up above

Fly me up to where you are

Beyond the distant star

I wish upon tonight

To see you smile

If only for awhile

To know you're there

A breath away's not far

To where you are

Are you gently sleeping

Here inside my dream

And isn't faith believing

All power can't be seen

As my heart holds you

Just one beat away

I cherish all you gave me

Everyday

'Cause you are my

Forever love

Watching me

From up above

And I believe

That angels breathe

And that love will live on

And never leave

Fly me up to where you are

Beyond the distant star

I wish upon tonight

To see you smile

If only for awhile

To know you're there

A breath away's not far

To where you are

I know you're there

A breath away's not far

To where you are

So there you go...I just thought that the lyrics were really nice!

Everybody's Gettin' Spanked But Me...!

This song reminds me of....Tara's death. *sniffle*

It's called "When A Dead Man Walks" by Lacuna Coil

Paranoia

In which I think that I'm not confident

Blood into my hands I can't deny

A buzz into my ears that makes me mad

But I don't look back

While I'm waiting to die

I don't look back

In a weird lullaby

I'll carryon

Great song.

And the hope in my heart is dry

But I don't look back

And I cannot reply

I don't look back

While I'm waiting to lie

I'll carry on

While they want to decide for me

Once again

Living in their cage

They are killing me

Paranoia

In which I think I'm not that confident

A tiny hope that burns in my breath

A bitter smile delights me at the end

I told you not to eat that, now didn't I?

You know, I just picked up a CD by Nickel Creek and I think the songs on it are just romantic as hell. I have to find some lyrics somewhere so bear with me.

T.

Love is tricky. It is never mundane or daily. You can never get used to it. You have to walk with it, then let it walk with you. You can never balk. It moves you like the tide. It takes you out to sea then lays you on the beach again. Today's struggling pain is the foundation for a certain stride through the heavens. You can run from it but you can never say no. It includes everyone."--Amy Tan "The Hundred Secret Senses"

Neutral Milk Hotel

Postby bowieinberlin » Thu Jul 18, 2002 1:00 pm

So I was driving down the street in my crappy little town and I felt a connection between W/T and this band, Neutral Milk Hotel.

The album I was listening to was "Aeroplane Over the Sea," and it's one of the best pieces of work I've ever heard. I've never met anyone that isn't affected by the fuzz-folk innocence on this album (amazon.com and college music journal called it one of the best albums of 1998, right next to Radiohead's "Kid A.") It's not about lyrics so much as the emotion behind the lyrics.

The imagery of Jeff Mangum's songs are full of wonder, discovery and above all else, the purity of love amid a bunch of crazy shit.

There's lots of songs that are about rebirth and death. But some of the best for you kittens to track down are "Two Headed Boy," "Holland, 1945" and "Ghosts."

Take a stranger's word for it and check out this album. It's so hard to describe, but it truly does capture the timelessness of W/T.
