Today I just found about all of this.

I remember your group coming into my cafe.

thank you all so very much.

It is a great dive and the best greasy spoon in the bay area.

A student from stanford dropped bye the cafe today and told me to do a search... and here I am.

Once again thank you all for visiting my cafe.

LOL, of course our kittens were memorable. Thanks for dropping in. And I think if you hold the garlic and add a nice cherry some of us might take you up on it. ;)

And now I have to wonder if one can say "good God that's a lot of shake".

Because that would make it perfect.

I may have to make a detour there in October when I make the long trek home from Sothern California to Northern California. What a cute idea for a cafe! Smiles :)

Arafel the Witch- Someone at The BronzeBeta told me that "shipper" was a term stolen from some X-files fans. They coined the term when talking about Scully and Mulder (I don't know how to spell those names) and now the term has been picked up by internet users for other shows. Just a variation of relationship supporter

Hee hee, I finally saw it a month ago when we were returning from Stanford Hospital.I saw it and couldn't believe my eyes! Here I was, staring at the cafe that I had heard SO much about!

I practically stuck my head out of the car window and screamed "OH MY GOD! THERE IT IS!!!" Which earned me quite a few stares but it was sorta funny. My mom was totally embarrassed when my dad had to yank me back into the car but eh. Well at least my broken shoulder isn't a TOTAL loss. : )

It was. I was very surprised to find that it was now used in other fandoms. Back in the day in XF land there were RelationShippers that got shortened to "shipper" and NoRomos depending on where you stood with the Mulder/Scully romance thing.

Hey, I'd never seen this thread before! I think I should definitely go there sometime, seeing as I'm not too far out of the area. That is to say, I'll go if my sense of direction agrees to cooperate with me some afternoon.

Although, I think I might pass on the garlic in my ice cream. Tasted garlic ice cream once before, and, well... it just wasn't my thing. :P

Amber

Postby Killin Joke » Tue Oct 15, 2002 8:13 am

Speaking of cafés... It struck me rather recently that the café that forms the headquarters of the student organization of my studies (Germanic languages) is called "Amber". The thing is: it's situated right across from the university. It's been lying there since... ever, the 5 years I spent in Ghent now anyway, and I never made the connection with our Amber Benson. Sheesh, sometimes I can be so clueless... ;)

BTW, it's decorated rather kitschy, bright red, with all sorts of peculiar stuff on walls, the ceiling,... I guess we got our connection with the bad wardrobe. Ooh, and there's a whole line of quite naked black and white pictures of ladies hanging above the war, with "Germania girls" written next to it. And no, before you ask, it's not us chicks: seems kinda 19th century like... Hmm, it begins to dawn why I love drinking a beer there... /chuckle/

Oh my heck! That is so very cool. How long has this Cafe been around, though? I mean, was it named after Willow and Tara or was this some strange coincidance? Very cool either way, though.

It's a coincidence, but a cool one.

Very cool. I wish I had known it was there when I went to California this past summer. Oh well maybe when I go out there next time I will stop by.

On my way back from picking up my maid of honor dress in Milpitas (just north of San Jose) two weeks ago, I stopped by to see the infamous cafe. Didn't get a chance to actually eat there as we had just lunched at the Macaroni Grill but at least I got to see it with my own two eyes.

Next time I'm down that way I'll have to stop in for a shake. :) However, I'm with you all...hold the garlic. I'll save garlic ice cream for the Gilroy Garlic Festival next year.

Cute little dive-y place across the street from a gas station. I'm sure numerous Kittens have pulled into that gas station just to catch a glimpse. The attendants there must be wondering why everyone keeps coming to look at the little dive across the street.

Later!

Awesome! Why is everything cool out on one of the coasts? What about those of us stuck here in the middle of the great plains surrounded by endless miles of...well nothing really. :( Ah well, at least I'm not tempted by being too close to Joss or ME.
