The lovely river bottom land I drive by every morning that is currently being turned from green fields to packed, lifeless dirt by bulldozers and other heavy equipment which are prepping the area for development. Ah, concrete and box stores. Sometimes levies are good. Sometimes cities need economic development that eats up land. Sometimes, however, I wish they'd just mind their own little flood preventing, homogenizing business.

Concrete, condos and box stores won't have that nice green, misty glow in the morning.

Q: What book most affected who you are?

The Sacred Diary of Adrian Plass by, umm, Adrian Plass. It taught me that it is OK to laugh at oneself, and that members of organised religions are not necessarily always right, or perfect people. And that cynicism can be good.

When my partner and I were just friends, we were sitting in her kitchen one day going through a catalogue, randomly looking at toys (not those kinds of toys!). We started talking about all the toys we had growing up, and I told her that the one toy I really wanted that I never had was a Snoopy Snow Cone Maker. Weeks later, I get an unexpected package in the mail. I didn't order anything, and it wasn't my birthday, so I eyed it suspiciously before taking it inside and opening it. Lo and behold, it was a brand new Snoopy Snow Cone Maker. I didn't even know they still made them! I called her up and she came over, and we made snow cones. It was so cool! I have it on display in the living room, with all the paper cups that came with it and the original package of cherry flavoring.

Um...I think finishing my residency. It'll mean less hours at work, more time and financial freedom for family projects. (Family project #1 being some travelling my wife and I want to do, and #2 being little individuals that run around the house and wake you up really early on weekends asking "mom, are you awake?").
Oh, look at the time. I have to go to work. Later!

Cats, because when I was a child and felt alone and there was nobody there for me, and my mind had gone to a really dark place, and I was hiding and crying in the bushes, just trying to escape from all the pain and negative human interactions around me, the cats came, they saw my pain, and they comforted me, and probably prevented me from turning into a bitter, hateful, mean person. And ever since then, uncannily, they always seem to show up at just the right time, sense when I'm in pain and need comfort. So many times I feel isolated from the human race, but the cats are always there for me. Yes I'm a freak!

The love of my life was killed in a car accident by a drunk driver after leaving my apartment because of a really stupid argument. It haunts me almost every day of my life. I've been thinking about it a lot more lately.

If you could go back in time, what one thing would you change?

There are so many things, but of the recent past, sometime around 2004, I would have stepped on a plane heading eastward and said hello.

Reading keeps me up at night -- I can't start a story at night for fear I will get hooked an be unable to put the book down until the wee hours of the morning.

What was your favorite book as a child?

I donno. A fiercely loyal one, lean and medium sized. Provoke and it'll bite, otherwise it's nice and friendly in a reserved manner. but to its owner, then it's a completely insane jump up-and-down passionate puppy.

That's my dream dog as well. :D

Most disliked sexual position and why. If have yet had sex, the body part that enhances or decreases your attraction to someone (if it looks good/bad).

I just went through this entire thread, determined to respond at the end . . . God help me, I didn't expect this question at the end, inlerf! :lol

I think Carrie Bradshaw put this well in Sex and the City: "Has anyone really enjoyed 69 since 1969?"

...because you EITHER really wanna focus on giving pleasure to your partner, OR receiving pleasure from your partner, and not be distracted from one, by the other! ;-)

GG But I am so the least-qualified person to answer the above question! :shock Out

I'd have to say getting sober/giving up the booze/going to treatment, and thus beginning the very very long process of turning my life around at age 23. It's funny how I used to think my life was over back then and that I could never change or pull myself back from the abyss. How very, very wrong I was.

If you could try heroin just once with no addictive consequences, would you do it?
