I am always here to help and so is tk I see. Nice to see you tk. I have missed you. You have been a very busy kitten recently. Haven't seen you around recently. Rather miss you when you are not around.

Yeah, I've been busy with work and stuff, I was hoping for a fanfic..but, obviously it wasn't working, i guess I'm better at acting out than writing stuff down so I decided to get back at my website...

Chapter 11 - Yoko's Oh No.





"I knew she was freaked."



"Willow."



"I did...I knew it...she denied it but I knew it."



"Willow...it was Spike, you heard it from Spike."



"I know, I had to hear it from him, she couldn't even tell me herself."



"What I mean is..."



"She couldn't even tell me herself." Willow grumbled poking at the keys of her keyboard.



"Willow..."



"You should have heard her."



"Willow..."



"Thats great Wil...you have to follow your heart Wil...Wil, Wil, Wil."



"Willow, sometimes people need time."



"Time? Time for what? Do you know how long we have been friends? Time....time...time to be unaccepting, prejudiced, homophobic?"



Tara had never seen Willow like this. "And what if she is unaccepting...what if she needs time...what then?"



"She's my best friend."



"You have to give her time Willow, you don't even know if this is true."



"Oh, I know...all high and mighty Buffy...all save the world Buffy...Miss I Am Perfect and you are not Buffy."



Tara looked at Willow. She was clearly having this conversation without her. "Willow, you wont know what she is thinking until..."



"Thats right, shes judging me, me, you, and us."



"Willow, I don't think..."



"My Wicca thing...into the Wiccan..."



"Okay, I am going to the library now."



"Huh? Why?"



"Because you clearly don't need me for this discussion."



"I need you baby." Willow said blinking her eyes trying to calm.



Tara had her books in her arms and was moving towards the door.



"Baby, please don't go...I'm just angry...I'll try to calm down...I'm just scared, what if they don't accept me, what will I do?"



Tara took in a sharp breath, her hand on the knob.



"I don't know what to do" Willow continued, "I cant lose them, they are my family."



Tara dropped her head. "And what about me, where do I fit in all this, aren't I your family?" she whispered.



Willow was silent, puzzled, she hadn't been listening. Hesitating a moment she ran their dialog back in her head, she hadn't been hearing Tara. Suddenly she realized what she had not said. She looked up, Tara was gone, the door closing slowly behind her.



Tara loved the library. It was a place of peace, of quiet respite. She was worried, unsettled, frightened by this new side of Willow. Willow's anger was powerful, all consuming, frightening in its intensity. She found comfort here in the stillness and was even able to get her favorite chair under the window. What would she do she wondered as she moved to find the text she needed. How could she manage such a fiery force.



Returning from her search she saw a piece of paper on the books she used to hold her chair.



It simply said "You are my family, you are my love."



Tara picked up the paper and looked around turning to find Willow sitting at her table watching.



Tara could not help but smile.



Willow smiled back sheepishly.



Tara approached tipping her head slightly. "So returned to the scene of the crime have you?"



Willow grinned again. "Yes...I will always return...I will always come find you."



"Promise?"



"I promise."



"Cooler now?"



"Yup, cool as a cucumber in a crisper."



Tara laughed, she loved her Willow with all her Willowisms.



"Better now?"



"Yes, if you are."



"Are you mad at me?"



"No Willow, I was never mad, a little scared maybe but not mad. You seem to get stuck Willow, stuck in those angry feelings, it's scary."



"I know, I can't help it baby. When I get like that it eats me up, it is all I can think about."



"Well, it scares me."



"I know Tara, I am sorry, I can be stupid sometimes. I could never hurt you though, never, I love you."



"I love you too Willow."



Willow looked at her watch. "Hey, you up for a Scooby Meeting?"



"I am, are you..you just uh...well...can you see Buffy and the others right now?"



"Yeah, I think I've got it under control...just needed to let off a little steam. I am right as rain now."



"What does that mean exactly...right as rain?"



I don't know," Willow said taking Tara's hand preparing to lead her out of the library, "but it sure sounds good."

Tara was in the bathroom with Anya. They had been talking uncomfortably about the tile. Angry voices were floating through the door. Giles was slurring.



"Willow sounds mad." Anya said looking at her folded hands.



"So does Xander." Tara replied looking at her shoes.



They were silent again looking everywhere but at each other. Willow's voice was rising drifting in over the others.



The phrase "she's my girlfriend" came crashing through the wood.



Tara took a deep breath. She could feel Anya's eyes turn to her. She peaked up through her hair to see Anya staring at her wearing a self satisfied expression. Tara shifted uneasily under Anya's gaze, suddenly her safe retreat wasn't so safe anymore.



"I knew it...I knew it." Tara heard for the second time that day.



"You two are lovers aren't you...I knew I felt sex...I felt it the night we had to rescue Buffy and Riley from those horrible vines."



Tara was turning all shades of red wishing she could disappear.



"A woman...sex...sex with a woman...how erotic...I've never done that....how do you do that without a penis?"



"W-w-well...I don't know...uh...I...uh...don't really have any...uh...c-c-compar-r-rison."



"Lesbian sex...wow..that must be..."



The door opened, "Come on Tara, we're leaving."



Tara looked at Willow then at Anya then at Willow again. She was ready to dissolve, the tension too great. Tara felt trapped and had a sudden urge to run. Instead she froze, her deer in the headlights freeze. Sex crazed, inquisitive Anya vs. angry demanding Willow...neither choice was good. Tara felt herself temporarily unable to move or speak, rendered mute between these two powerful forces.

I've always loved that scene in the Yoko factor where Tara and Anya gave retreated to the bathroom to hide from the crossfire. Brilliant writing and very funny. Thanks for revisiting this.

I like how deftly you introduce Tara to Willow's obsessive tendencies. They're wonderful when their focus is on Tara, school and other positive things, less so when their focus is anger and frustration.

Thank you all for the responses. This was a kind of complicated chapter write due to all the miscommunication...I had to keep paring it down so it would work. I am glad you found it funny...the last scene...I did not intend for it to be so...but whenever you put Anya in the middle of anything at least in my stories it tends to get funny...gotta love her, she is fun to write...and I dont use her that much...generally just as a catalist. The whole bathroom scene was too good to resist...it is one of my favorite Buffy scenes...I guess I should finish it up for you huh?.....

You showed us Anya's reaction to Willow's statement to Buffy about Tara being her girlfriend. I was always curious about that.
