Editing to wish Katharyn a happy 1000th post. Wowie!

Hey Chica... actually I was going to fill a space hopper with helium and let the wind carry it towards land with a message and a basket to send the stuff back...

And yeah 1000 posts... seems like only yesterday I got here*S*

Another question I think...

In what episode and to whom does Willow splutter "Coughing... not talking."

*Still bouncing*

That's a good simple way of getting reinforcements! And was that a no to sneaking off with the grass-skirted Tara? Okay, I guess that's a little antisocial for this thread. *pouting and grinning at the same time*
1001! Wow.

As far as the Willow question goes... I have absolutely no idea! *feeling much shame*

No need to get off the island now.

*lowers several crates of cream and oil*
*waves all around*

See? The crates passed the tight security setup.

*flies back to the scary land*

Hi All (waves enthisiatically). Day 2 of being Spoiler free. I can't wait for my "stayed spoiler until for Ep 22 badge".

Sees new crates of oil and cream (thanks willow_thebadasswitch). Grabs the bottles and hops away to deliver it to all kittens on the island. Personal Oiling and massaging optional!

*snork!* huh? wha?
I wasn't snoring! no snoring! I do, however, sleepwalk. This time I have walked myself right into a mass of dancing girls armed with oil. What a way to wake up! This is the best island, ever!

Cicca: call me insane, if you will, but i was actually enjoying being called tofu.

*Does super-flexy squats to wake self up.
quad muscles are very, very bulgy and impressive.*

I say the more marinated people, the merrier! or... the marinateder.
I don't know the answer to the question! argh!

*clapping for squats*
Huh. There's a new thing for me. I've never clapped for squats! Very impressive quads!

*wondering what kinda triceps Tofu has*
Good triceps are always a nice thing.

*wondering what kinda triceps the dancing girls have*

*wondering if the dancing girls need more oil on their triceps*

Hmm.
And marinating... I'm all for melted chocolate. Bring it on!

I hereby challenge Cicca and all the dancing girls to some armwrestling. A little tricep fun, if you will, and all the more interesting because of the oil!

So you have a thing for triceps, eh? Dare i ask?
Well, the triceps don't look like much, but I do beat most of my friends at armwrestling.... I hear that's a big armwrestling muscle, the tricep. (I'm a biker - so - upper body: wimpy, legs: muscley. The paddleboat was the closest thing I could find to a seafaring bicycle.)

Anyone else want to have a go at it? I am very sad to have missed the cabaret, and am eager to engage in some group activities....

Ooh, armwrestling! I think I'll just watch and admire the glistening muscles. I'm definitely not joining in. Despite my smitten squad prowess, I'm actually kinda wimpy. I'm happy to help with the oiling!!

Looking forward to cheesecake! What kind are we having, Owl?

*raises her hand* me me me me me! I'll join in on the armwrestling competition! I've beaten a couple of my friends. Sure, they were wimpy friends, but still! I beat them. Where's the sign up sheet for the competition?

*runs over to where Owl/Tofu is making cheesecake and offers her services* I love baking cheesecake! (I really love eating it too)

Cheesecake?! *squeal*
Arm wrestling? Well, if your ego needs some feeding tonight, then yeah, I'll armwrestle. I suck muchly!
And triceps are an underrated muscle. I long for fabulous triceps. Biceps even... Hmm. Weights? Maybe I can practive lifting heavy drink coconuts up and down. Up. *sip* Down. *smile at dancing girls* Up. *sip* Down. *wonder what kinda cheesecake we're having*

This island is goooooood. Safe from spoilers! So nice!!

Editing to add a fabulous factoid. I just found out that kittens are also the name for baby beavers, not just baby cats. Somehow that amused me. And I know there are other animals called kittens too... Just can't think of any at the moment.

This thread has become like one of those toy cars I had as a sproglet - the kind you rev up on the carpet, then let go, and they shoot along the floor to make yet another chip in the skirtingboard paint ... I like it. Lots of happy, playing kitties.

Activities, hmmm, I do believe we have an activities/entertainments officer, who is currently sitting on her behind, sipping cocktails, and simply admiring the scenery. Charles, my dear, weren't you promoted to fill that position?

*If Wolfie had a pair of glasses to peer over, that's what he'd be doing right now, at the entertainments officer, who is currently dozing under a clutch of oiled dancing girls.*

*Suddenly, a brain wave strikes. Claps hand to forehead*

Oh! Genius! I've got it:

Wheelbarrow races.

The kind we used to do as kids. Okay, this is how: Each kitty pairs up. One becomes the wheelbarrow, which means the other kitty grasps the first kitty by the ankles, and the first walks on her hands. You then have races. Up and down the beach, swapping over at each end. Should be a giggle. Okay, the start line's over by that palm tree over there.

*Runs over, and draws a line in the sand.*

Right. Who's up? I haven't got a starting pistol, but I still have my trusty pocket trebuchet.

arm-wrestling, wheelbarrow races ... it's all the same to me!

I'm game!

*races over to the starting line, puts her hands on the sand and kicks her feet into the air only to fall in an ungraceful heap on top of herself*

oh yeah ... a partner game ... who else is up for some racin'?

Sweet! Okay, I volunteer to be bottom first, since I'm already sitting here in the sand. (hehe, could thing we all know I'm totally just talking about wheelbarrow races, or that last sentence could be taken wrong ) Now all we need are two more racers! So, who thinks they can keep up with the mightyness that is jomarch and myself? huh? huh?

Hey, I wasn't just admiring the landscape! And anyway, Wolfie, you were admiring with me...

Wheelbarrow races could be fun - can we do a whole Mini-Olympics like you have at primary school?! Egg and spoon race, sack race (I always used to win), obstacle course. And the winner gets an Easter egg and a sloppy kiss from the First Mate in keeping with the embarrassing spirit of these things. My friends and I actually did this a while ago (yes, I'm also the girl who recently had a 'silly hats, candles that don't blow out, pass the parcel' party and got given a space hopper - you get the average mental age of me and my mates?!) and it was mucho fun.

And for the arm wrestlers among us, we'll include that as a category as well, OK?

*brandishes a rather sexy and stylish starting pistol*
Take your marks for the egg and spoon race!

*BANG! Smiles happily as she watches the many Kitties go wobbling off down the beach with their spoons*

Postby Wolfie » Tue Mar 19, 2002 4:59 am

Hehe - yup, I forgot about that Charlie! But I do outrank you, hon, so I'm allowed to get away with such oversights

Pulling rank: Is there any finer thing?

Oh, and I bet you were one of those little blighters who runs in the sack, rather than jumps, eh? You know the sort: you'd be jumping enthusiastically for all your might, and actually doing quite well, when one little swine - there's always one - charges through, little legs pumping away, causing all the others to fall over in a fit of pique, and win.

I must say, though - I'm up for an egg and spoon race, myself. I found these really interesting eggs on my travels through the jungle (noticed how this island seems to be getting bigger? I predict a mountain appears within twenty posts) - they're rather big, and leathery, and a bit of an odd shape, and there was this strange roaring sound coming from the jungle further on, but I thought they looked interesting ... Anyway, who's up for a race? If you want, we could mix it up: Sack racers against egg-and-spooners ... Might be fun.

Can I put my egg in a sack and run with it? Cuz I think I would be good at that...

I'll be half a wheelbarrow, if anyone's of a mind to oblige me by partnering the ankle-grab tango...

Cheesecake everyone!
The food variety, though I certainly did not mind the stellar impersonation of a cheesecake by SiWangMu.

I have many varieties.
New York, Cherry, Oreo cookie, amaretto
and... my specialties: Chocolate, chocolate peanut-butter, and key lime pie.
I stole these recipes from the back of a chinese restaurant i used to work in. The recipes have been kept a secret for many generations, and now you have the opportunity to taste cheesecake that most have only read about in legend....

Who ordered black olives? I made one with black olives... and i think that's just....yucko. but there it is - for whoever wants it.

Island Olympics! I am so excited! I'm up for anything! ... almost.

Well, jomarch and I have been practicing our wheelbarrow-ing for awhile now, so we'll be all ready when we come to that part of the island olympics, or once SiWangMu gets a partner, whichever comes first. For now I'm going to sample some of that key lime cheesecake (one of my favorite flavors). ... "sample some" - is that a proper english phrase, or am I starting to speak like my Korean students? anyway ... and then I plan to take part in the egg on a spoon race!

*takes a bit of cheesecake* Excellent! I heartily recommend the key lime. Did you use real key limes? I noticed there happens to be a key lime tree over at the base of that mountain over there

Um, Wolfie? One of your oddly-shaped leathery eggs is sort of wiggling on the end of my spoon!

yes, La and I are so ready to go. *Go Team Us*. But first, must stock up on cheesecake goodness (thanks Owl). I would love the chocolate, chocolate peanut butter (ohhh, chocolate). Really gooey and sticky .

PS I actually love olives. Love them in my martinis so possibly will try black olive cheesecake as well. Don't want it to go to waste.quote:

You know, black olive cheesecake could actually be quite good if it's not a sweet cheesecake but more a ricotta type/"salty" cheesecake. In fact, I bet GREEN olives would make a really good cheesecake using cream cheese (i love green olive creamcheese spread)

*La stops talking and instead runs to the oven and quickly whips up a green olive cheesecake*

As soon as that cools a little bit, should be pretty good. Jomarch - it'll give us a lot of energy for the wheelbarrowing!

*Whispers to Cicca* They ARE made out of tofu, silly! All of them. That's the big secret. I mean, what are you more likely to find at a chinese restaurant, bean curd or cream cheese? Now you know the ancient secret. And you can be all mighty and protein-ful.

La: Yes, I do use real limes. the ones from the tree at the base of that mountain over there... Strange.... I don't remember a mountain before.... hmmm.

If anyone has seen seefer and bit-o-fluff, I made them some special cheesecakes, too! grape and cheese flavor, respectively.
what? all cats like grape flavor. everyone knows that. I was going to bake something special for the Cap'n and Field Marshall, but they seem to be... missing. Which I find most disturbing as still do not know answer to most recent question.
