I think the only good about claire's dad is that he is a good liar. He has a tape of her trying to kill herself a dozen times and he has done nothing to help her. Why do i keep wanting to make claire into claire de lune?

TV Guide columnist Michael Ausiello reports that Christopher Eccleston, the Ninth Doctor from the BBC series Doctor Who, will be joining the cast of Heroes in January. No word on who he'd be playing or how long he'd be with the show.

Now I've got to get caught up on this series before his debut...

Another excellent ep this week, it wasn't until the ep got going that I realized that Jackie might be the cheeleader that Sylar went after, since she had lied about being the fire hero. Bad move, and a nasty fate for a nasty character. I liked how Peter went to help even though he has finally figured out that he has no powers of his own, but only borrows those of others. Liked Ando waiting in the cafe too, he's the sidekick of all sidekicks isn't he?

As usual all the stuff with Mohinder didn't do much for me but I'm glad to fianlly see he decided to check out what his father left on the computer. And the list is interesting, I'll have to freeze-frame that and have a good look. Every story got moved along, and they really did a good job to set up the next ep, the look back at six months previously. Finally, yay for Eden being so powerful and taking down Sylar without any effort at all. That was an amazing scene, and gives me hope that Nora Zehetner will be on the show for at least a few more episodes.

More casting news...

SciFi Wire and other sites report that George Takei will appear as Hiro's father. Reportedly Masi Oka, who plays Hiro, is hoping they'll give him the line, "'Dad! Sulu is my hero, not you!" :lol

I've downloaded all the episodes now, and have watched the first three. Maybe I'll do a marathon this weekend to get caught up.

Just finished watching the last two episodes and I'm totally completely hooked! There are just so many things to love from this show, so many characters to care for and to worry about .

I especially liked the introduction of Charlie in these last two eps and I was literally screaming at my 'puterscreen when they capped her off in ep. 8 (no pun intended). Of course I couldn't believe that that was going to be the end of her, seeing as she's just too cute of a supersmartspowerbestowed redhead (and a Southern one to boot! Speaking Japanese on the side... bestillmyheart!!), to be killed off that early with all that potential. Plus she and Hiro are just waaay too adorable together !!! Am sooo looking forward to their (obvious) 'ship development, heehee.

Every time Clea comes up, I'm like "hell yeah that's our power lesbian!". She and Matt the Mindreading Cop make a good pair (as in investigating partners). I really felt for Matt when he found out about his wife cheating on him, he's just such a good guy.

And the stuff with Mohinder, like some of you said, doesn't really impress me so much now, but maybe he'll be like the one who's gonna connect them all and guide them in the end. Though I know it's gonna take a looong time for that to happen and it seems like the "Heroes" are doing that just fine by themselves.

I. Love. Hayden Panettiere. Ever since she was a wee little curly-haired tyke on Remember the Titans (heck, I myself was a baby dyke of 13 at the time), I knew I just had to wait a couple of years for her to "grow up". Ahem. Y'all know what I mean. But what I'm not sure about is if Zach is gay or not. Either way is fine I guess (how can you not like Zach? Esp. the part with him trying to scare Claire's l'il bro in the car), I just wanna know if I'll be rooting for Claire/Zach or that I'm cheering on the Will and Grace pairing of this show . I also loved his speech about how getting the votes from the unpopular "freaks" makes you the most popular one. Heh. That is so true.

seurat wrote:Finally, yay for Eden being so powerful and taking down Sylar without any effort at all. That was an amazing scene, and gives me hope that Nora Zehetner will be on the show for at least a few more episodes.

Oh, for a second there I thought maybe Eden wasn't so innocent at all... hmmm, I probably wasn't paying attention somewhere during the ep. To me it looked like the evil guy got his mind controlled by an even more eviller force. But hey if I'm wrong, they're doing a heck of a good job at keeping me on my toes.

And I still can't help but think "hey what's that Forrest guy doing here?" when I see D.L. appear on screen, heh. Yet it's a very good thing Leonard Roberts plays a much more likeable (and more importantly bigger) character this time around on a major show.

The only one I start liking less and less is Nathan. Even though he can fly and that's cool and all, he's just an ass.

Tonight's episode was really revealing and filled in a lot of holes in several characters backstories, the Nikki/Jessica revelations were especially interesting. I'm glad the Eden character (Nora Zehetner) seems to be growing in prominence and might be a main cast character after all, I originally had her pegged as cannon fodder and a quick death.

Yes, that was a good episode. While I was curious to learn more about Syler I was also concerned that knowing him too well would make him less sinister. It turned out to be quite the opposite. The guy really creeps me out.

While I'm not crazy about Nathan, I couldn't help but feel sympathy for him last night. I can see why he has such negative feelings about his ability to fly.

Eden is totally cool, I'd love to see more of her. Same with Nikki/Jessica, a very intriguing character.

I think we're going to have a heck of a cliffhanger next week.

I really liked this ep, much better to get a bunch of different backstories done in one ep rather than the way Lost used to do it. (And may still for all I know, but I gave up on Lost last season.) Sad to see what happened with Hiro and Charlie, I liked them together and will miss her. Do we know if she died of the blood clot, or was it still Sylar?

Sylar is extra creepy, but my concern now is that when he escapes - and for story reasons he pretty much has to escape - who will he kill along the way? I'm still not convinced Eden is safe from being 'cannon fodder" but I hope they keep her alive, even if they move her off screen for a while since she is not part of the fulltime cast. Nathan is still my least favorite hero, and I wouldn't mind at all if they killed him off, but I doubt that will happen. Next week should be wild.

I liked the episode, as well. For a self-proclaimed filler episode, it answered some questions, and asked a hell of a lot more.

Sylar is DAMN creepy. And it is extra scary that he seems to understand exactly how the mutated gene works - is his power a higher understanding of extremely complex systems that he can then reconfigure (i.e. his own brain)?

I hope we get to see more of Charlie, even if it's in a flashback.

Nathan has a reason for hating his power. But it doesn't mean that he can be an ass.

I think DL is going to die next episode...

I love this show now, I think it may be my favorite so hard to say really. I just love the characters, love the cheerleader and Jessica! I am looking forward to the parents being revealed. I worry about this show disappointing like Lost. Lost built up this whole thing with parents as well and did nothing with it. I hope Heroes doesn't go that way.

And I still looooove Hiro! He was action hiro this week, hee, jumping fences!

A great episode last night, and I especially enjoyed the appearance of the wonderful George Takei who, for a change, spoke Japanese! Very clever, I thought, of Hiro to make his father realize that his sister was his father's true heir.

I certainly had a major happy when Clare's stepfather showed up in time to rescue her stepmother from the evil Sylar. I hope that Sylar will be caught so that he won't hurt Clare...

Why is Jessica so evil? I wonder what happened to cause the split personality in the first place??

Things should get really interesting now that we know who Clare's real father is!

Heroes slipped in another little Star Trek reference, if you look closely the license plate on Takei's car is NCC-1701. The Star Trek boards found it quite amusing. Gotta love the little things they do on this show.

RE: Nikki / Jessica - some episodes back, Nikki's father stopped by for a visit. It started out friendly, then turned into a major confrontation. I got the impression he was abusive, and possibly responsible for Jessica's death. The details, of course, were pretty vague.

I was expecting the invisible guy to be Claire's father. That was a surprise. The invisible guy is cool - in a cruel, psychotic sort of way. I also loved the actor when he played Dr. Who.

And I do love Hiro. My favorite quote of his is still, "Waffles! Woo hoo!" It's just fun to say.

I'll have to look again at that license plate. I can't believe I missed that!

Great couple of last few episodes! I wasn't surprised when we found out who Clare's father is. My friend and I had called it several weeks ago. I'm really enjoying Claude, especially when he yells at Peter. Peter is way too whiny. I loved when he got thrown off the building. And then I was glad he didn't die cuz then I wouldn't be able to be annoyed by him. I'm really looking forward to more of evil Jessica. She's awesome!

Last night's episode was amazing. The show just keeps getting better and better.

When Peter and Claude were on the roof and HRG and the Haitian showed up, Peter really came into his own. The use of multiple powers was an incredible display of power. And the next time he and Sylar meet, I don't think Peter will be the one running for his life this time.

Poor Claire. Her life is falling apart all around her. And now she and her family are being held at gun point. Although I can't wait for the answers we'll get next week.

I also hope they don't keep Hiro and Ando separated for long. They make a great team.

Wow-really great ep this Mon.def. a rollercoaster of an episode. Found out a lot about HRG and the company he's working for. loved the flashbacks-just one more surprise after another. was hiro's dad showing up like that a few eps earlier just one big act and was he really testing him to see if his power had manifested? now we know there's some kind of mutant underground and the haitian was really working for them all along. looks like another good ep next week as well.

GAH! This week's episode drove me NUTS! Everyone was doing INSANELY stupid things :
Oh sure...like Linderman's going to actually LET you shoot him...puhleeze....and that cop? WTF? Is he going to be terminally stupid for the rest of the show? MOHINDER! HELLO! Wake up! If you let Syler get awake, even if you DO poison him, he will screw your world. DUH! Claire, honey, the world does NOT revolve around you. And Daddy dearest even slipped up for the last time. She slutho partner with the special morphing powers? That should've been a clue right there that something was SERIOUSLY amiss. The whole ep irritated the hell out of me. And that is surprising for this series.
:happy
HRG is a black op on a mission. I would not trust anything he says, does, or happens around him.

Would Linderman let Nathan shoot him? Probably we don't know shooting Linderman would do anything to him. Shooting Peter,Sylar,Claire or DL would just annoy them,it might be the same with Linderman. I think it was a test of Nathan character, Linderman will mentor Nathan and turn the Linderman group over to him at some time.
What freaks me out is:
Spoiler:
How ambitious Nathan really is. He talks about bringing down Linderman but I'm not buying it. He must have some sort of extraordinary power himself unless he is the creator of said shadow group that Claire's father works for.

Sylar is just getting away with murder (no pun intended) now and I don't know how this shadow group thinks they're going to be able to control him. If they're so interested in acquiring the rest of these ubertalents, they'd better put a lid on him and fast. I feel bad for Atomic Bomb guy and where was that Scottish chick we were introduced to last time?

It's all driving me nuts!

Finally seen the last two eps of this show and I'm so psyched out for tomorrow (better said, until I can get it through a btorrent, heh) and that's not just because of Hayden's spiffy new hair color (courtesy of ep 19 preview)!

Ep 17 was just such an emotional rollercoaster for me. I already have some daddy-issues and thus am extremely susceptible to nice, caring father(figure)/daughter storylines.
When the Haitian shot HRG I was bawling my eyes out. I was thinking, "Oh no! He's going to sacrifice himself for the sake of his daughter!" Poor Claire. But then in Ep 18, it turns out he was still alive! Grrr... wasted all my tears for nothing, hmfp :miff!
Furthermore I found that they did a really great job at creating a highly tense situation and holding that sense of "don't piss off the tickin' nuclear bomb" for an entire episode with only this part of the cast. Also, great CGI of a healing Claire (anyone else also noticed the cheapo animation of the doorknob melting at the beginning of the ep? Ha, I'd wondered where the money went!). One of my favorite eps so far.

Then Ep 18, Oh. My. God.

First off, I had dl'ed an extremely bad spanish subbed .avi which had a couple of seconds of delay in the audio, so watching this episode really grated on my already frazzled nerves, haha. Maybe it was just me (after all, I am but a simple mind), but contrary to some other folks ;) I don't see stuff coming at me from miles away, so imagine me gasping at all the twists and turns in this episode. Didn't see it coming that
Mrs.HGR Bennet turned out to be that skanky morph chick
(No, I do NOT like her... BRING BACK CHARLIE!!!) and I'm really curious as to what role "Obaa-chan" Petrelli plays in all of this. And just when I thought Mohinder finally got some balls and grew a brain alongside said balls, he gets himself (to quote Emily from Milestones) "into quite a sticky wicket" again. Sigh. The good man will just never learn.

Now the question we all want to know remains: is Peter gonna die or what?! I'm putting my money on "Nah, he's not..." :p

My few thoughts on Ep 21 "The Hard Part" ... (fresh of the dl, ep 22 still on its way :p):

D.L. and Niki/Jessica look hot together. Yeah.

"Obaa-chan" Petrelli is giving me the willies now. Brrrr. I think she's evil.

I loved Claire's line about the gun Peter wanted to give her;
"My destiny is not to shoot you. The universe cannot be THAT lame!"
:laugh

Suresh sure is looking prettier than ever. His scenes with little Molly were definitely supercute!

It looked like Sylar's (or in this case Gabriel's) family situation was really fucked up in a way (could his mother be any more hysterical or what?!), but then again, who's family isn't? I guess it just depends on how you deal with it. Even though she encouraged him to be the best he could be, he alone makes the decision to use that (corrupted) power for his own good (thus EVIL!). But the fact that he goes and seeks his mother for advice (also, if you noticed, Mohinder), shows that he at least realises that he needs someone to "reign" him in and tells him that he's good enough just as he is (ie: wants some confirmation that his existence alone is worthy, even without the powers... oh the humanity!). He's still a murdering nutjob though, heh.

Btw, I totally loved rugged Peter in ep 20 "Five Years Gone". Scar = Sexy. I wonder how he got/wil get the scar and if that future is going to be the one we'll get to see, or if our Heroes will... save the world?!?

Stay tuned for more comments on the second to last ep of this season, "Landslide"!

I certainly have to agree about Sylar. It's as if the writers/producers couldn't come up with a "cool" enough villain, so they said to themselves "Hey, let's bring back the cool one from last year!" :happy
