Well, it's October 19th, which means, finally, a new episode!

Episode 908

Two Days Before the Day After Tomorrow

Original air Date: 2005-10-19

A GLOBAL WARMING STATE OF EMERGENCY is declared in South Park. The world's largest beaver dam breaks and floods the adjacent town of Beaverton. As the victims wait for help to arrive, everyone in South Park tackles priority number one: who is to blame? Only Stan and Cartman know who’s really at fault.

Just thought I'd mention how much I enjoyed Wednesday's (10/26) episode, with its excellent satire of Stephen King's "Pet Semetary" and the "secret technology" of the girls. :lol

As usual, though, the funniest line was delivered by Cartman to Butters (aka "Margarine") before the slumber party:

"Remember, if they start lezzing out on you, just roll with it." :lol :lol :lol

Episode 909

Marjorine

Original air Date: 2005-10-26

The 4th grade girls are having a sleepover. It’s imperative that the boys find out what goes on behind those closed doors. Butters is picked to be the boy who must fake his death, become a girl and infiltrate this age-old feminine tradition.

Yeah, it was really funny. Butters pretending to be a girl, Marjorine :lmao

Last week's satire of The Day After Tomorrow, and this week it was Pet Semetary, very funny stuff :lol

And that lezzing out line really was the best one :lol

Ah I could not figure out what they were mocking this episode, I have not seen Pet Semetary, last week´s combo of the day after tomorrow and the hurricane double disaster (mother nature and human incompetence) was quite amusing and clever in parts. The scene with everyone running from global warming cracked me up as did the portrayal of South Park´s media.
This week had quite a few funny moments too, dead pig Buttters falling to it´s doom and splattering all over the place was pricelss. Glad to see Kenny again this episode even if he did not do much.

Episode 910, "Follow That Egg"

Mrs. Garrison’s “ex” plans to marry his new love as soon as the Governor signs the bill allowing gay marriage in Colorado in an all new episode of "South Park," entitled "Follow That Egg!," premiering Wednesday, November 2 at 10:00 p.m. on Comedy Central. As Slave and Big Gay Al prepare to marry, the townspeople of South Park rally the Governor to outlaw gay marriage.

In a fit of jealously, Mrs. Garrison develops his own case study using the kids to prove that same sex couples cannot care for a child. The boys are determined to get an “A” on their class assignment and Mrs. Garrison is just as committed to seeing they fail.

A very funny ep, as one might expect.

Telling moment: as "Ms. Garrison" is going on and on about how "two men can't raise a baby" (Stan and Kyle---and don't they make a cute couple!---are supposed to break their egg, to prove Ms. G's point), a (obviously male actor-voiced) lesbian calls from the crowd "What about two women?"

There's a pause.

And then Ms. Garrison calls out "Who cares about some f*cking dykes?"

(I feel like this is the Real Deal, as---both positive AND negative---gay men get all the attention. Except for straight men's porn, that is)

GG But Stan and Kyle *don't* break their egg, and the Governor signs gay marriage into law in Colorado. Ah, if only it weren't a fictitious cartoon Out

Or if Kalifohhhnia's "fictitious cartoon" of a Governator hadn't misplaced his balls . . . :mad

Not bad, moderately funny.

But the "Cartman-does-Hitler" theme was done much better in the now classic "Passion of the Jew" episode. :-D

Episode 912

Trapped in the Closet

Original air Date: 2005-11-16

Religious leaders believe Stan is the new “Golden Child” and a whole soap opera unfolds with the help of a famous R&B singer.

The results of Stan’s personality test reveal that he’s depressed. While Stan looks to a new religion for answers, the church leaders recognize Stan as the second coming. Some A-List Hollywood celebrities join the faithful who have set up camp right in front of Stan’s house.

Just saw the episode. They made fun of scientology, funny stuff :lol

Tom Cruise, John Travolta and R. Kelly in the closet :lmao

I am not always sure when they are mocking someone or whether what they portray is based on fact, so when I saw the text "this is what scientologists actually believe" I googled it to see what that was about, and apparently they really do believe that. This was very enlightning, I learned more about scientology than I ever wanted to know and I can only say that I wish Tom Cruise a happy journey to whatever planet his spirit came from. I hope he stays there.

Yes, DrG, it never ceases to amaze me how what L. Ron Hubbard originally conceived of as a scam to make money (Hubbard once said to John Campbell "I think the easiest way to get rich is to start your own religion") is now thought of as legitimate by so many gullible people.

I guess it goes to show that an awful lot of "showbiz" types are really not very bright.

Very funny credits: since Scientology is infamous for its eagerness to sue anyone it perceives as an "enemy", it was hilarious that all the names in the credits for this episode are listed as "Smith". :lol

Episode 913

Free Willzyx

Original air Date: 2005-11-30

A “talking” whale inspires the fourth-graders to risk everything to return him to his family. With the police on their tails, the boys enlist the help of a foreign government and embark upon an adventure you’ll not soon forget. One in which the boys learn just how far you would go for a friend.

Saw the episode last night and while not one of their best, still funny. Especially when they had the ALF (Animal Liberation Front) killing everyone in sight :lol

Re last night's ep:

All I can say is, it's a good thing that San Franciscans (George Clooney too?) have a better sense of humor about themselves, than Isaac Hayes does! :miff

GG Born on the East Side of the bay, in Walnut Creek (though my dad worked in SF at the time). Go Giants! Go Niners! Go Castro Street! Go quiche-eating liberals! :heart Out

Definitely one of their lamer eps... :happy

Is it my imagination, or do the episodes seem a little bit less "edgy" this season?

I had some high hopes for the "evolution" material in the most recent one (and a lot of it was funny), but then they got all tied up in Cartman's trip to the future (although I got a kick out of their usage of the old "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" theme music--does anyone else remember this old series with Gil Gerard?).

They seem to have fallen into a bit of a rut--I hope they get out of it soon and restore some of the sharpness to their satires.

What is there a new episode? I don´t recognize that quote.
I like season 10 better than 9. I think it is edgy enough alright and I loved the Buck Roger episodes. Yes, I am old enough to remember one of my first childhood crushes: Erin Gray and her form fitting suite. :x

Thanks for the heads up Hemiola. :) I had no idea the new season had started. I am downloading as we speak. Suddenly feeling nostalgic, I also googled Erin and she still looks very attractive, though I am not too sure how recent the pics I saw are, but who cares. She almost makes me want to watch that old show again, despite the fact I absolutely detest that ridiculous robot.

Oh man, I actually had forgotten that stupid noise it made. Image

I just finished watching the first three episodes and they all cracked me up, but especially the very last scene of ep 3. I have a sincere and deep fondness for miss Jolie, but that was just too funny not to laugh out loud. :laugh

Last night's episode was the first one in a loooong time to keep me laughing all the way through it!

First of all, it was a brilliant satire of all those "DaVinci Code" specials that came out in the wake of the book and the movie.

I was giggling every time they mentioned the "Hare Club For Men" ;-) , but what really made me fall off my chair was the "hymn" that they sang to the tune of "Here Comes Peter Cottontail": "Hippitus, Hoppitus, Dominus Verus" :lol :lol :lol :rotflol

So... Is there anything Ms. Garrison hasn't been by now? :laugh

Just caught up with the current season's episodes and ep six D-Yikes! totally cracked me up... Fave quotes: "Scissor me timbers!", "Oh yeah, dyke-fight!" and Butters' (as always innocent as a new-born babe) "You have to be careful with scissors" hehe. The mix-up with essay/ese was funny cuz it reminded me of Bubbleboy (anyone seen that movie with a very cute Jake Gyllenhaal?) and the Mexicans rocked hard in this episode! Mexicans, Persians and Lesbians, you can't go wrong there... ;)
I've not yet seen the movie "300", but this has given me some hell of an incentive to do so :D.
All in all, one of the better episodes so far, but then again, I'm biased :p.

DrG: the Angelina Jolie gag was indeed very hilarious! I do wonder though, she ain't a natural blonde, is she? Or do Matt and Trey know something we don't know?? :P Another thing I loved about that episode was the huge epic feel about the lice-life storyline, all with the grand dramatic music (like when louse Travis loses louse Kelly during the blow-dry-scene, too funny!) set against our 'normal' world.

So, right! I'm off to go watch ep 7 now.
Rick: "Gus... Ssssh... so, is it actually Alan that's giving you this faith, after he has cocktails with Gus?"
Olivia: "Okay y'know what, I don't know what they're drinking- The point is..."

So, the new season begins...

I actually haven't seen the new Indiana Jones movie yet but, can anyone tell me, was it so bad that it really constituted "rape" of the character????

I did get a kick out of Cartman's attempt to thwart the "Chinese Invasion Plan" with the hapless Butters' help. Typical Cartman. :lol
