Chapter 40

Postby Stormforce » Fri Dec 03, 2004 12:15 pm

Egnalos - The secrets will come to light soon, and I can say Tara and Faith aren't going to like having not been told about the test. The legend about the Keyblade wielder bringing destruction upon the world has something to do with the dark twins, and Willow and Buffy. But that'll come later ;) Right now the group is in a fun world. Here's the update.

WickedReds - Tara's getting another summon in this chapter, and I might have Buffy fix the ship up just to make the others scream in fright :D

Note: Well there is no Heartless in this chapter or the next few. The world the girls are in now, was nothing more than a Mini-Game world, just for fun. And I thought the girls could use some fun, seeing as how they've been doing nothing but fighting, and getting teased by their twins in the other worlds.

Chapter Fourty: A Bear and a Hunny Tree

When the group stepped inside Merlin's house the saw they magician silently working with different colored liquids. Merlin smiled at the group as they approached the Fairy Godmother, and watched Tara hand the stone to her before going back to his work. The Godmother studied the stone for a moment, and nodded as she waved her wand in the air.

Willow once again caught Tara as she stumbled, and heard her giggle, "What is this one?"

"He says he's the great dragon Mushu." Tara giggled again, "He also says that enemies will run when they see him."

"Cool, a dragon." Faith grinned, "I hope he won't be too big when you call him."

The Godmother giggled, "You will not have to worry about that. Mushu is, well, he is small for a dragon." she smiled, and her eyes lit up when she saw Willow's pouch glowing, "I see you've found the key to the book."

"Huh?"

"In your pouch, dear. That is the page to that book you brought here, and it will open for you now. Just take the page and place it in the book, and the door to a new world will open."

Willow shrugged, and took the page from her pouch, as she opened the old book, and put it in as the first page. The book glowed bright yellow, and engulfed the group, shrinking them down and pulling them inside the book.

The group appeared in a large meadow with a log, and a yellow bear in the center of the area. Tara heard the bear talking to himself as they approached, "Hi there. What' wrong?"

The bear looked up, "Nothing, just thinking."

"Oh." Tara sat down next to him.

"I was just thinking of how to say goodbye to Pooh." The bear said then tapped his head.

"Pooh?" Willow asked as she sat on the ground in front of Tara.

"Yes?" The bear asked looking at the redhead.

"Wait a second." Buffy cocked her head to the right, "You're Pooh?"

"Yes, I'm Winnie the Pooh. Pooh for short. Who are you?" He asked glancing around the group.

"I'm Buffy, this is Faith, Tara, Willow, Donald, and Goofy."

"Oh. Hello, everyone. Have you come to say goodbye to Pooh, too?"

Faith shook her head, "No, why would we do that?"

"We've only just met." Tara smiled.

"Everyone else went away." Pooh lowered his head.

No one in the group liked the sound of that, it could only mean one thing, and that was the Heartless had been there. But if the Heartless had been there, then why wasn't this world destroyed? "What do you mean?" Donald asked getting straight to the point.

"Well, we all lived here in the Hundred Acre Wood, and we'd take walks together, or play Pooh sticks... And every day, I'd eat some honey. Just one small smackeral would taste very good right now. But now everyone's gone. All my friends, and my favorite Hunny Tree too. They must have gone away while I was napping, I think..." Pooh hopped off the log, "So, who knows? Maybe I shall end up going away somewhere as well. But I wonder, how do I say goodbye to myself?"

No one said a word. It was just odd that someone would want to say goodbye to themselves, and heard a growl.

"Oh, my tumbly is getting rumbly." Pooh said and walked off leaving the group to watch.

"Maybe we should, umm... follow him." Tara said rising, "We don't know if there is Heartless around, or not."

"Yeah," Faith agreed, "And besides, he doesn't look like a fighter."

"I'm not sure he could fight his way out of a paper sack." Buffy giggled, and got a glare from both Tara and Faith. "What?"

"You shouldn't say things like that. It's not nice." Tara said, and glared at Willow when she heard the redhead stiffle a laugh, "Will."

"What? I didn't say a thing." Willow said, and hurried forward with Buffy following. As soon as they were far enough away, both girls let out their giggles, and ran faster when they saw Tara and Faith nearing them.

The group followed the little yellow bear to his house, and followed him inside after having a look around outside. Tara, and Buffy stiffled a giggle when they stepped inside Pooh's house; Pooh was holding a honey jar with his left hand, and he right hand stuck inside. The bear pulled his hand out, and licked the honey off before he raised the jar up.

"Oh, bother. There's no more honey left." Pooh stood and slowly walked toward the door, "If only the Hunny Tree would visit... Then I could eat my fill."

The group watched the bear close the door and sighed, looks like they were going to have more walking to do. When they stepped outside, all six in the group jumped at the sound of a voice, "Let me guess," the startled group look up at a tree branch, and saw a large owl staring down at them, "You'd like to know what happens next, right?"

"Umm, well, that would be nice." Willow said confused, and not knowing if she should just ask what was going to happen next, or just leave it alone.

The Owl shook his head, "I would like to tell you, but I can't. I have not read that far ahead."

"Okay, that's fine." Donald nodded and pulled Goofy toward the path they'd followed.

Halfway down the path Willow stopped, and stared to her left, "I wonder how big that Hunny Tree is?"

The others turned and shrugged, "Why?" Faith asked, "You wanna get the bear some honey?" she laughed and saw Willow shake her head.

"That's not it," Willow pointed to her left, "But that is, do you see it?"

Off in the distance the group could see a large fifty-foot tall tree standing proud, and could barely make out little holes in up and down the trunk. "Let's find out." Goofy said and started toward the tree with the others behind him. The thump of their footsteps was the only thing that could be heard, besides the breeze moving the leaves.

"Hello, i-is anyone there?" A small frightened voice asked from inside of an old log, and a young piglet slowly walked out into the light, "Wh-Wh-What am I to do? I'm all alone. Pooh? Where are you? It's me, Piglet." Hearing the groups steps, Piglet turned, and gasped before he ran behing the Hunny Tree to hide.

"Stay here." Tara whispered, and hurried toward the tree, and quietly walked behind it, where she saw Piglet peek around the trunk. Tara slowly walked over, and tapped his shoulder.

"Oh dear!" The young pig jumped and turned, "I was j-just... N-Never mind. I'm sorry!"

Oh, he stutters. How cute. Tara thought and kneeled down to Piglet's level, "Don't be scared. You're looking for Pooh, right?"

"You know Pooh?" Piglet asked happily, "Oh, y-you see, I-I have something for him... I have to take it to Pooh right away!" he said, and heard Winnie The Pooh walking up the path, and hurried to meet the bear. "Oh, Pooh!"

"Oh, I believe I smell a delicious something-a something like honey!" Pooh said to himself, and saw Piglet running toward him, "Hello, Piglet. How have you been?"

"I-I'm so glad to see you. I thought you' gone away, oh, I brought wh-what you asked for." Piglet said and made a floating balloon for the bear.

"Thank you, Piglet. Now I can finally have some honey."

"Really? B-But how?"

The bear and pig approached the tree, and looked up, "I shall hold on to the balloon, and fly like a been up the Hunny Tree, see."

"But, won't the bees be angry?"

"Hmm... Oh!"

While the two friends had been talking the group had leaned against the tree, and watched. Buffy glanced up as a thought crossed her mind, "What's wrong, Pooh?"

"If you could only chase away those bees, I'm quite certain I could get a small morsel of honey. Would you help me get some honey?" Pooh asked looking up at Buffy, with a hopeful face.

"Yeah, sure I can do that." Buffy nodded and smiled as the Owl from before perched on a low branch.

"Oh, hello there, Owl." Pooh spoke as he tied the balloon string around his waist.

"Good day, Pooh. What are you doing?" Owl asked then shook his head. "Using a balloon to get some honey? What a splendid idea!"

"Yep, and I'm helping." Buffy said jumping up on to the branch across from Owl.

The balloon lifted the bear up to the first hollow, as Buffy watched for any sign of bees, and saw the fly from the large beehive above her. She cast a low-level Fire spell and saw the bees fly off when it exploded in front of them, and hopped up to the next branch as Pooh rose into the air.

This went on for fifteen minutes; Pooh rising up to the next hollow, and Buffy scaring the bees off with low-level Fire spells. At the very top after Buffy had scared the bees away; Pooh climed into the hollow, and was happily eating the waist deep honey.

"That was yummy in my tummy, but there's room for a bit more." Buffy heard Pooh say, and giggled as she cast a Float spell and lowered herself to the ground.

Chapter Forty-One: A Rabbit, A Tigger, and An Eeyore

The group had walked down the path taking their time, and just resting, and enjoying their short break from fighting the Heartless. Now all they had to do was find the Keyhole and seal it before the Heartless did show up, and try to destroy the beautiful world they were in. As the group walked over a wooden bridge they saw a garden on either side of the path, and Pooh and Piglet near a tree with a door in the trunk.

"Look!" Piglet said as he ran up to the group, "Rabbit's house c-came back! But it looks like Rabbit isn't home." The young pig lowered his head, "Pooh's been calling and calling, but the house says no one's there."

The girls looked at one another before glacing at Donald and Goofy, a house that says no one's home? That didn't sound right to any of them, and even Donald and Goofy thought it was odd. "Nobody, have you seen Rabbit?" The group heard the yellow bear ask, and was surprised to hear a reply.

"No! No Rabbit here! There's no one here!" They heard the 'house' answer.

"Uh-huh." Faith snorted, and approached the door.

"I don't think that was the tree." Goofy said as Faith opened the door, and stepped inside with the others behind her.

"Hello, Rabbit!" Pooh smiled and sat down at the small table.

Rabbit jumped and turned, "Why, P-Pooh. What a pleasant surprise... Nice to see you, too, Piglet. And..." Rabbit stared at the group, "Are they new friends?" he asked and turned back to the bear, "I'm sorry, Pooh, but, I'm all out of honey at the moment."

"What's that?" Buffy pointed to the rafters where a honey pot sat, and reached up taking it down before she handed it to Rabbit.

"H-Honey?" Rabbit looked from the honey to Buffy, "How did that get up there?" he mumbled and turned toward the bear, "Would you like some, Pooh? Don't feel that you have to, of course." he said hoping to save the honey.

"Oh, thank you, Rabbit." Pooh said taking the honey pot, "I would like just a small smackeral. I'm quite hungry." the bear began eating the honey, and causing the large rabbit to sigh.

"Um, Pooh Bear... You're not eating the whole pot, are you?" he sighed once more, "Once you start, there's no stopping you, is there..." Rabbit lowered his head, it seemed like he was going to have to make a trip to the tree, and hopefully get some honey and not get stung.

Sometime while Pooh was eating the honey, Donald and Goofy had went back outside to look around, and make sure there were no Heartless anywhere near, and heard the girls follow five minutes later. Glancing around after her stomach growled, Buffy leaned down, and pulled a tomato from the vine, and cleaned it on her shorts before taking a bite. She nearly fell over in shock when she heard Piglet shout for help, and ran back inside the house.

The other's had followed her inside, and saw Pooh stuck inside a hole, that they thought was being used for a window. "Oh, help and bother. I'm stuck again." Pooh struggled a little, "I've come through this hole before, it must've shrunk."

Willow ran outside, and around the tree to where Pooh's head was sticking out, "Are you, umm, you okay?"

"How will I eat honey if I'm stuck here?" The bear looked up at Willow, "When it's lunch time, perhaps you could bring me a honey jar." he said and saw the redhead smile. He thought the smile said she was agreeing, but Willow was more or less thinking of a honey covered Tara.

"No! No honey 'til you're unstuck!" Rabbit's voice startled Willow out of her fantasy of Tara covered in honey, and her licking it off.

"Well? How will we get him out?" Tara asked as she and the other's walked around the tree, and saw Willow smirking at her. Tara knew she was thinking about something, and the why she was staring at her with that smirk, she knew it had to be something that should only be done in their bedroom. What made her think about that at a time like this?

"If Pooh doesn't slim down, my house will stay plugged up forever!" Rabbit shouted jerking Tara from her thoughts, "If there were something we could do... Wait! I know! A bit of carrot top juice will do the trick! I have a carrot patch on the other side of the stream, the juice is just the ticket to slimming down a Pooh!" Rabbit said and frowned he heard something, and the something sounded very much like a Tigger. "Oh, no!"

Tigger came bouncing around the tree and bounced up, and landed on Willow, making her fall to the ground in a daze. "Hey there! Name's Tigger! T-I-double-guh-RR. That spells Tigger!" he said and looked down at the dazed redhead, "Well, now! I don't think I've ever seen you before!"

"Hello, Tigger." Pooh spoke from the hole, "You've just bounced on one of my new friends, that's Willow." Tigger bounced over and examined the bear.

"Hey, Pooh! Say, you're lookin' mighty uncomfy today. Is that some new exercise? Why, bouncin' around is a lot more fun." Tigger bounced up and down.

After Tigger had bounced off of Willow, Tara had kneeled down to help her up, and heard "Tara covered in honey." mumbled and smirked, So that's what she was thinking about. "Later, sweetie." she said as she helped Willow to stand.

"W-Why do you bounce around so much, Tigger?" Willow asked rubbing her head, and wishing he had bounced on someone else, that hurt!

"Why?" Tigger asked shocked as to why this girl was asking him that. " 'Cause bouncin' is what Tiggers do best! Now, I'll be bouncin' over here." Tigger bounced off toward Rabbit's garden.

"No! Tigger, wait!" Rabbit shouted as Tigger bounced by him.

"What's wrong?" Willow asked tapping Rabbit on the shoulder.

Rabbit turned around, and sighed, "Tigger's bouncing will ruin my vetetables!" Rabbit looked over his shoulder, at least Tigger wasn't exactly too close to the garden, "And if we don't give Pooh some carrot top juice, he'll be stuck forever!" Willow jumped when Rabbit grabbed her arm, "Please help me! Keep Tigger away from my carrots!"

"Well, what do you think?" Willow glanced as the others and saw them shrug, "Lotta help you are." she grumbled, "Okay, I'll help you."

"This is quite a fix." Owl said as he perched on a tree branch, "But I have just the solution." Willow gave the owl her full attention, "If Tigger bounces on a carrot twice, it'll be buried, you must protect the carrots at all costs. But, you've also got an easy job, there are only fifteen carrots here. All you have to do is stand over them, and let Tigger bounce off your sword."

Willow nodded, and raced toward the carrot patch just as Tigger bounced over the fence, watching where he was bouncing Willow used her Sonic Blade to blur, and protect the carrot in his path. Willow lifted her blade over her head just as she moved over the carrot, and reflected Tigger's bounce. That was one, and only fourteen to go. Willow back flipped to the next carrot, and reflected Tigger once again, and had to blur to the third.

By the fourth carrot Willow had to use the Sonic Blade to reach most of the others, seeing as how Tigger would bounce high, and land ten-foot away. She protected the fifth, sixth, and seventh carrots, and missed the eighth and ninth. All of ten minutes later Tigger stopped, and smiled.

"Say, you kept up pretty good there, Willow, especially for a non-Tigger! Come to my bouncin' spot, and we can have another go!" He said and bounced off toward the path.

"Thank you so much!" Rabbit shook Willow's hand, and hurried to the carrot patch, "Now I'd better make that juice. Please wait inside the house."

"You all right, sweetie?" Tara asked when Willow rubbed her head.

"Yeah, just that last bounce Tigger made caused my blade to hit the top of my head."

"Aww, poor baby." Tara giggled, and kissed Willow's head, "That better?"

"Actually, it would be a lot better if you could kiss me here." Willow pointed to her lips, and smiled when Tara leaned down.

"Better?" Tara whispered leaning back just a fraction.

Willow nodded, "Yeah."

Donald sighed and was glad to see Rabbit enter the house, "What a day!" Rabbit sat down at the small table, "I gave Pooh the carrot top juice, now all we have to do is push him out."

Faith shrugged, put her foot on Pooh's little round bottom, "Just a little--" Rabbit stopped when he heard a crash, and raced toward the now empty hole and looked through it. Pooh had landed in a pile of honey pots, and had one over his head, "First my vegetable patch and now this!" Rabbit ran out of the house, and toward Pooh.

"Oh, bother. Where am I?" Pooh asked turning his head, "It's ever so dark in here... Well, it isn't so bad, I suppose. There is plenty of honey."

Buffy shoved Faith toward Rabbit, who was at that moment trying to get the honey pot off Pooh's head, "You're the one that pushed too hard, now help him get the pot off the bear's head."

As Faith helped Rabbit, Goofy stared off into the distance, and saw a tall tree sitting on a small hill, and pointed, "Hey, there's a swing, let's go have fun!" Goofy chuckled and ran off with Donald quacking behind him.

"Sounds like the duck is mad." Willow laughed, "Come on, let's follow and make sure they don't get into any trouble." she said pulling Tara after her, and saw the other's following. Trouble wasn't what they found thought, it was a beautiful grass-covered hilltop with a small neck-deep stream, with a bridge leading to the other side. On top of the small hill was a large tree with a rope and board swing gently swaying in the breeze.

Piglet and Pooh came into the area with Rabbit following behind, and stopped on the bridge where Piglet pointed toward the bend in the stream, "Look, something is floating this way."

"I think you're right, Piglet. What could it be?" Pooh asked not seeing the girls gripping their blades, nor Donald readying a spell, and Goofy lifting his shield. The thing in the water floated closer; Tara giggled as she and the others let their guard down. It was nothing more than a small raft with a sad looking donkey on it. "Why, it looks like Eeyore!" Pooh waved, "Hello, Eeyore, if it is you."

"Hello, Pooh." Eeyore stared up with his sad eyes, "Yes, it's me. Could you pull me out? That is, if it's not too much trouble." the donkey looked down at the raft, "Of course, you don't have to if you don't want to."

"Well? Go get him." Faith said shoving Buffy over the bridge, who was quickly followed by Willow; the redhead glared up at her smirking lover and shook her head.

"Come on, Will." Buffy dived as best as she could in the neck-deep water, and swam to the raft, with Willow following. Willow took the right side, and Buffy the left, and swam to the bank where the donkey slowly walked onto the land.

"Thank you. You know, floating along out thre, it seemed like something was missing..." Eeyore said in that sad voice of his, "And something's still missing."

Piglet gasped, "Why, Eeyore's tail is gone!" He shouted, "Is that what's missing?"

"Let's see..." Eeyore turned his head to look at the spot where his tail should have been, and nodded, "Yep, lost it again. Wonder where it went this time, it's not much of a tail, though I'm sort of attached to it. But I don't know why anybody'd look for it. Probably won't find it anyway..."

"We'll look for it, and we'll find it." Tara smiled, "All of us could look for it."

"Lost something?" Owl asked flying overhead, and landed on the bridge railing. "Searching from a high place is the quickest way to find it."

"Owl, can you fly up high and help us find Eeyore's tail?" Goofy asked as the others began looking around in the tall grass to the right.

"Sorry, but my eyes aren't what they used to be." Owl shook his head, and smiled, "Too much reading, you know. But I can offer good advice! Of course, you don't have to if you don't want to. See that swing up there? Take Pooh there. You're a bit too big for the swing, but Pooh should fit nicely. I'll tell you more when you get there." he lifted off the bridge, and settled on a tree brance.

Goofy grabbed Pooh and headed up the hill where he asked Pooh to sit in the swing, "Okay."

"Here's what to do. I want you to push the swing and keep pushing; Pooh will go higher and higher, and he'll be able to see from high up. Does that sound like it will help you?"

"Sure does." Goofy chuckled, and began pushing the swing, gentle at first but soon became more firm. Pooh was having fun, he was being pushed on the swing, and looking for Eeyore's tail at the same time, but his fun was about to come to an end. A bird's feather slowly floated through the air, and just barely touched Goofy's nose, causing him to sneeze, and push the swing too hard.

Pooh Bear was sent flying through the air, and landed on Eeyore's makeshift house, made out of small twigs. Tara hurried over to help the bear stand and saw a small gray tail, and held it up, "Hm? That looks familiar..." Eeyore said staring at his tail.

"Here." Tara walked behind Eeyore and knelt down pinning the tail back on the donkey's bottom.

"How's it looking?" Pooh asked as Tara stood.

"There we go." Tara smiled as Eeyore swung his tail.

"It's not much of a tail, but it's mine. Thanks, everyone." The donkey smiled, and followed the group toward another section of the Hundred Acre Wood.

Chapter Forty-Two: Leaving Hundred Acre Wood

After the group had left the swing area, they heard laughing and shrugged. If something was that fun then why not find out what it was, and try it out? This world was very different from the others, and the girls, plus the guys found it relaxing not having to fight the Heartless around every corner. The laughing grew louder as the group entered a small section with tree stumps in a line, and off to the sides.

There were two stumps a cut a foot from the ground; one cut about a foot and a half from the ground, and two more cut two feet from the ground. There was a tree stump to the right of the others that was cut about six-inches from the ground, and one near a small elevated section of land that was cut three feet from the ground. The only other stump was only two-inches from the ground, and had a large six-foot tall, five-foot round pot sitting on top.

"This here is my bouncin' spot!" Tigger said as he bounced over to the group, "We can bounce around here all day!"

"Nothing beats bouncin'," A small brown kangaroo said as he bounced over, "by the way, I'm Roo."

"Hello there." Tara smiled and sat down near a large Oak tree.

"You wanna bounce, too, Willow?" Tigger asked hoping Willow would agree, "It's lotsa fun!"

"I think I'll pass, but I'm sure Faith would love to go bouncin' with you." Willow smiled and stiffled her giggles when she felt Faith's burning gaze on her. "She's a very good fighter, and she'd pick up bouncin' real quick."

"To bounce with the finest, you'll need some pointers from the finest," Owl said as he appeared, "And Tigger and Roo are the finest bouncers in Hundred Acre Wood."

"Bounce this way, please!" Tigger said to Faith, and bounced over to a tree stump. "Here's a little warm-up." Tigger bounced from the first stump, to the second and third, and back to the second before bouncing to the third and fourth, and stopped on the elevated ground. "Now you!"

Faith shook her head, this was going to be easy. Doing just like Tigger had; Faith followed the same path, and landed next to Tigger. "Easy." she smirked, and followed him back to the beginning.

"Now it gets tricky!" Tigger bounced to the second, back to the first, and over to the taller stump on the right, before bouncing back to the second. From the second he bounced to the third, and back to the second, and finally on to the forth and on to the ground.

Faith sighed, and began following the same path, and slipped when she jumped from the first over to the right. "Try again!" Tigger called out and watched as Faith began again, and this time made it over to him, "You're doin' fantastical!" Tigger shouted happily as he bounced back to the beginning, "This will be the last one."

Once again Faith watched. This one was much the same as the last, but from the right stump Tigger bounced to the third completely bypassing the second one. Faith did the same thing, and smiled when she made it to Tigger's side without making a mistake.

"You've gotten mighty good at bouncin', Faith! Right, Roo?"

"Yeah! I think she's ready for the big one!"

"Well, there's only one way to find out!" Tigger said and led Faith to the stump in front of the large pot, "We will be inside throwing rocks out, and you have to hit them back at the pot and break it."

"Okay." Faith nodded taking her blade out, and waited for them to begin.

The first rock flew out of the pot high into the air, causing Faith to jump a foot in the air, and knock it back. The pot rocked back and forth as the rock hit, and another came flying out. Again Faith jumped and twisted in the air, hitting the rock, hard, and watched as the pot rocked from side to side. Faith hit all but one rock, and smashed the pot five minutes later, causing Tigger and Roo to bounce around her in circles.

"That was great! You're one of the finest, now!" Tigger shouted causing the others to giggle.

"Yeah! Just let us know if you wanna bounce with us again, and pratice with breaking the pot!" Roo bounced up and down.

Faith smiled and walked over to the others, "I think right now I could go for a swim, whatcha say?"

"That sounds great!" Buffy hopped up, and began dragging Faith back toward the stream.

"Yeah, that is a good idea, and that stream was warm." Willow rose from the ground, and picked Tara up, and carried her over her shoulder as she raced Buffy back to to stream.

"Those girls." Donald sighed and stood to follow them, "We need to find that Keyhole."

"Don't worry, Donald." Goofy chuckled, "The Heartless haven't found this world, and I'm sure we'll seal the Keyhole before they do." With that said Goofy rose to follow the girls.

"Hey!" Donald quacked, "Where are you going?"

Goofy turned, "I'm goin' for a swim."

An hour after climbing out of the stream, and letting the bright sun, and the warm breeze dry their cloths; Faith pointed out another path that led past a group of trees. Just past the trees the group came to a muddy path, and saw Pooh walking around a tall clump of grass with his head down. Everyone carefully walked across the mud, so as not to fall, and stepped behind Pooh Bear.

"Whatcha doin' Pooh?" Buffy asked startling the bear.

"Shh." Pooh raised his finger to his lips, "We have to be quite, or they'll get away!" he whispered.

"Who?" Tara asked, making sure to keep her voice low.

"The people who took everyone away. See their footprints?" Pooh pointed to the mud where several footprints could be seen, "We were all sticking together to make sure no one got lost again. But then, I saw some footprints that needed following. So I did. Suddenly, everyone was gone. Bad people must have taken them away."

"Actually, Pooh, I think those footprinst are..." Willow stopped when Tara elbowed her ribs, "Umm, anyway, we'll help you look for your friends."

As Willow and Tara talked to Pooh; Buffy had walked over to the clump of grass, and pushed the weeds back, "Eeyore?"

The donkey looked up at the Al Bhed girl, "Hello." he said and lowered his head again, and began glancing from right to left.

"What are you doin'?"

"Lookin' for sticks to build my house...again."

"Sticks for your house?" Buffy asked surprised as she stepped through the weeds, and looked around. "This place already feels like a house." she said, and of course she was right; the weeds were at least six-foot tall and had leaned over to make a ceiling.

"Hey, this seems like a good place to gather everyone once we find them." Faith said poking her head through the weeds when she'd heard voices.

Willow told Pooh to wait with Eeyore while she and the other's searched around for everyone else. Donald and Goofy went to the right and up a small hill where they found Piglet hiding in a small hole. "Why are you up here?"

"We lost Pooh, and when I turned around everyone had disappeared. I w-was s-so s-scared."

"Don't worry. We're gonna find them." Goofy smiled and picked the small pig up, "Let's get you back to Pooh."

Faith had spotted Roo hopping from the ground to a large tree root, and bouncing higher as he looked around. "Hey, Roo, come on, the other's are over here." she shouted, and saw Buffy coming back with Tigger. She'd found him bouncing on a fallen tree, and trying to bounce from there to one ten foot up.

Willow and Tara had run into Owl, who was snoring away in an Elm tree, and asked if he'd fly down to the weeds, and wait. After Owl agreed it didn't take them long to spot Rabbit on a ledge higher up. Willow used the small tree roots sticking out of the land to jump up, and grab Rabbit before she hopped down. "Come on, the other's are waiting." she smiled, as she and Tara led Rabbit to the grass.

"Everyone's here!" Rabbit laughed, he had been worried. After they'd lost Pooh, and tried to find him; Rabbit had lost site of everyone else, and had been afraid something had gotten them.

Dusk had creeped up on the group as they had searched, and now was walking back toward the stream with Pooh and his friends following. The night air was still warm, and the stars lit up the night sky like thousands of small fireflies. Once the large group entered the stream area, they followed Tigger up the hill, and sat down on the grass.

"This is beautiful." Buffy said lying on the grass to stare up at the twinkling stars with a smile. "We should do this more often."

"I'm so glad we're all together again." Piglet said and lowered his head, "I didn't know what to do when I was all alone."

"Aw, Piglet, you gotta be brave." Tigger wrapped his arm around Piglet's shoulder.

"You weren't lonely at all?" Piglet stared up at Tigger with round questioning eyes.

"Lonely? Are you kiddin'?" Tigger grinned, "I'm a Tigger! The most wonderful thing about Tiggers is I'm the only one." He said, and hugged the young pig closer to him, "But I do admit, friends are awfully fun, too!"

"Think, think. Think." Pooh mumbled with his head down.

"Hey Pooh, what are you thinking about now?" Willow asked when she heard his mumbled whispers.

The yellow bear looked up, "Oh, well, I'm just thinking about what to think about."

Willow shook her head, as her giggles joined the others, "Well, we should be off." Faith said as she stood.

"Where are you going?" Rabbit asked sorry to see their new friends leaving so soon.

"We've got to look for our twins." Buffy said as she stood beside her lover, and motioned toward Willow and herself.

"Bounce on back again!" Tigger bounced over and hugged the girls, and Donald and Goofy.

"I hope you find your twins!" Piglet said hugging Buffy's leg, and laughed when she picked him up, and gave him a real hug.

"We will." Buffy whispered, and sat the young pig down, "And keep an eye on Pooh Bear, make sure he doesn't get stuck in Rabbit's house again, okay?" she gave Piglet a wink when he quietly giggled.

The group hopped down after saying their goodbye's and headed toward a light in the center of the meadow. "Girls, don't forget... We shall always be here. If you'd like to visit again, that is." Pooh called out as he and the other's waved.

The group disappeared from Hundred Acre Woods, and felt Willow's Keyblade shot the beam to seal the Keyhole, as they appeared in Merlin's house. After nodding to the magician, and Fairy Godmother; the group hurried back to the First District, and teleported back to the ship.

"All right!" Donald shouted as they appeared on the ship, "Let's head on to the new world!"

"Yeah, it's time to meet Maleficent face to face." Willow nodded firmly, and wrapped her arms around Tara, and saw Buffy kiss Faith before hopping into the pilot's seat. Both girls knew this was not going to be an easy place.

Chapter 43

Egnalos - Yep, now the trouble will be beginning. And with the twins on the loose, it isn't going to be easy. Here's the update.

Note: I apologize for the lateness of the update, but I sorta got blocked, and couldn't think of anything good.

Chapter Forty-Three: Two Worried Lover's

As Buffy guided the ship toward a new destination -a destination that could most likely be the last thing any of them ever saw- Buffy began to think back to her life on Spira. Growing up in the Bikanel Desert, remembering when her sister was born, Sin's attack on Home; the Al Bhed being scattered, her mother bringing everyone together again.

When she'd met Willow for the first time, and watching as she was thrown overboard when Sin attacked. Grabbing Tara from the Shopuf, and having to fight Xander and Willow, and meeting Willow again on the Moonflow shore.

Glory wanting Tara to marry her, fighting Glory in the Macalania Temple, saving Tara at Bevelle and fighing Glory again. Running from Bevelle and through the Calm Lands, and remembering what had happened on Gagazet.

The sadness she felt when they were nearly to Zanarkand, and knowing that was it; Tara would get the Final Aeon and die fighting Sin, just to give Spira a ten year break. She had always hated that men and women had to give their lives just for Spira to be rid of Sin for only ten years.

And then she had found out Tara was a summoner, and she just couldn't stand it. Her cousin, her only cousin was about to die fighting Sin, and she'd never see her. Sure she'd seen her before following from Luca, but Joyce had told her to stay away. And she did.

Buffy had to admit when they fought and defeated Yunalesca she was jumping with joy; Tara wouldn't die. But Willow had disappeared, after defeating Yu Yevon. That was the worst, thinking she'd never see someone she'd come to love as a sister, and then the Aeon's helping to bring her back.

She remembered everything from then, and everything after. She and the others sphere hunting, battling the Aeon's, and finding out there was something even worse in the plans. Defeating Vegnagun on the Farplane, and the night Besaid was destroyed by Omega's goons.

The she and Faith having that weird dream, and finding out that Tara and Willow had had it also, then meeting Mickey afterwards. Now she was beginning to wonder if they'd ever go on another adventure after this. Those twins were strong, and she didn't know if she and Willow could fight them, and protect their lover's at the same time.

That was making her worry, could she defeat her twin, and protect Faith at the same time? She knew Faith would try and protect her, but she was told not to let that happen. How was she suppose to do that? Hit her lover over the head, and knock her out? Truth be told, Faith would be pissed when she woke! And Buffy certainly didn't want to be on the recieving end of Faith's temper.

What are we going to do? Damn twin. Damn test. This sucks, if we did tell them, they'd only worry, and get hurt trying to stop it. I don't care how pissed Faith gets, I am not gonna tell her! Me an' Will can deal with this, just get those damn twins to see the light is all we have to do. Tara and Faith need not be involved. I know both of us will probably be sleeping outside, but what the hell, I would rather sleep outside than in an empty bed...a bed without Faith.

Although she didn't know it, Willow was having the same thoughts. How was she going to defeat her own twin, and protect the one person who brought light into her life at the same time? She had known Tara was the only person for her as soon as she'd seen her appear in the doorway leading to the Fayth's chamber.

Willow remembered Tara brushing her hair back, as a bead of sweat rolled down the side of her face, and between her breasts. At that moment Willow had wanted so bad just to be that drop of sweat. And now, it looked like she was in danger of losing Tara, again.

When Buffy had told her what would happen to Tara if and when she got the Final Aeon, she had nearly went berserk. Even then she wouldn't have known what to do without the woman she loved, and now, Willow thought she'd join Tara on the Farplane, if not by her own hand, then by letting something else do it for her.

Willow was ready to lay her life on the line just to make sure Tara wasn't hurt, but she knew there was no way Tara would allow that. She'd give her own life to protect Willow, and that was worrying Willow to the brink of madness. She was told not to let Tara protect her, and just how was she suppose to stop her? Willow had seen Tara angry before, and she didn't want it directed at her. Tara was scary as hell when she was pissed.

Tara's gonna be so pissed. But what can I do? If I told her she'd worry, and protect me, and I can't let that happen. Mom said we couldn't let them protect us. And by not telling Tara or Faith, we're protecting them... at least I hope. Damn test, why can't we just have a nice adventure, killing fiends, or Heartless, but nooo there's gotta be a friggin' test involved. And what's with the twins? How are we going to make them see what they should already know? This sucks, Tara'll kick me out of the bed, and possibly the bedroom when she finds out. But she'll eventually calm down, and let me back in...eventually.

Tara glanced around the bridge, Donald and Goofy were being quite as the rested for the battles ahead; Willow was off in her own world, and Buffy was staring off into space not really seeing anything in front of her, or the ship. And that really worried her, both girls were never this quite, they were usually saying how they'd kick the Heartless off the new world, and save it.

But not this time, no, both were quite and both had looks of deep thought on their faces. Now what could they be thinking about, and not telling her, nor Faith? She didn't like this one bit, everytime Willow kept something from her it always meant it was bad. And it must be even worse if Buffy knew, and wasn't telling either.

Catching Faith's eyes, Tara cocked her head silently asking her to follow. When Faith nodded, Tara slowly rose, and saw that she didn't even disturb her lover, and frowned. Usually when she moved, Willow would look up, but not this time. Shaking her head, Tara slipped out the bridge door closely followed by Faith.

"What in hellfire is wrong with them?!" was the first thing out of Faith's mouth when the door closed.

Turning around Tara shrugged, "I have no idea, and it's starting to worry me."

"It's almost like they're worried about something we don't know, and from the looks of things, we're not gonna find out."

"But what could they be keeping from us?" Tara asked leaning against the cool wall, and sighing, "We were together, they couldn't know something we don't."

"What about when they were asleep?" Faith asked causing Tara's head to shoot up, "I mean we've all had dreams, what if they had one, and was told something we weren't?"

Tara nodded, "You're right," she said and began pacing the small hallway, "Okay, so they had a dream, and was told something- something that we don't know. So, what was it? And how bad could it have been?"

"Don't know," Faith shrugged, "But you know them, they wouldn't tell us if it was bad. Just look at Will, she sure as hellfire didn't say anything about being a dream. Not until we we're fighting Yu Yevon."

Tara stopped dead still, as her face paled, "You don't think something like that is going to happen again, do you?"

"What, them disappearing?"

"No," Tara shook her head, and once again leaned against the wall, "What if they were told of a fight; a battle there was no way for them to win?"

"They would tell us!" Faith's shoulders slumped, "No, they wouldn't, they'd keep it hidden until it happened, and got killed!"

"Exactly." Tara frowned, "They wouldn't want us to get hurt if they could stop it."

"Dammit!" Faith growled punching the wall, as Tara slid to the floor, "I don't like this, if they're keeping something like that from us it could be dangerous... Not only to them, but to us, also."

Tara rose from the floor as she ship began to slow, and entered the bridge to find Willow had moved to stand behind Buffy, as they hovered around the new world. A world that Tara could feel the darkness seeping from, and shivered.

Being a white mage had it's advantages and disadvantages, and this was certainly one of the disadvantages. The feeling of that much darkness made her skin crawl, it felt like thousands of little insects crawling under her flesh.

Faith could feel it, too, and it made her shiver. Now that she could cast magic like Willow and Tara, she had began feeling the power, even though she wasn't adept in casting, she still could tell when there was dark magic. And this was darker than Willow and Anya's magic put together.

The same could be said about Buffy she'd felt the darkness crawling on her skin like small bugs as they approached, and she didn't like it. It only made her fear for the worst, and knowing what she and Willow was about to face; Buffy wanted to scream, and just get away from there as fast as she could get the ship to move.

But in doing that she would put more worlds in danger, not to mention Spira. And by every god and goddess, she was not going to do that. She was going to face this head on, and protect everyone she loved.

Willow had felt it before any of the others. It had began as a soft tingle over her body, and slowly became a crawling, and from there it turned into a pulling. She knew the darkness was calling to her own black magic like a siren, and fought down the urge to answer.

Willow was not going to give into any kind of darkness, no matter how much in called. Standing she'd moved behind Buffy, and watched as the new world loomed in front of the ship, as she placed her hand on Buffy's shoulder.

"We're here." Buffy looked up at Willow with dead eyes, and saw Willow's dead gaze as she glanced down.

"Yes, it seems so." Willow's voice was void of emotion; Tara and Faith frowned when they saw Willow squeeze Buffy's shoulder. What was going on? Why were they acting like that? And what did the two of them know that they didn't?

They had finally reached Hollow Bastion, and soon Willow and Buffy would be faced with a test; a test that could most likely kill them. And knew, if they failed, all the worlds and their lover's were doomed to fall to the Heartless.

Postby Egnalos » Mon Dec 13, 2004 10:44 pm

Well with the connection they have it's not hard to see Tara and Faith figuring out what's happening with Willow and Buffy, they don't know exactly what's going on but know the basics and I guess that after all the've been through before and knowing at least how Willow is when keeping a secret about something dangerous they are going to be more alert about things or at least I hope so.

Oh! and one thing I don't like is the Willow-darkness combination, even though Willow says she won't go near it it's always a potential danger and more so if Tara is threatened. I mean there's a huge example with their twins and besides there was this little part about the one that port the keyblade and something about darkness that kinda worries me.

Anyway... update soon I can't wait to know what happens next.

More please. :bounce :bounce :bounce

Chapter 44

Postby Stormforce » Tue Dec 14, 2004 10:21 pm

Egnalos - I figured that Tara and Faith would eventually figure out what was wrong with their lovers before anything actually did happen. But what exactly, they won't know until they're told, but will be more alert in Hollow Bastion.

The Willow/darkness combination will be taken care of, but the darkness will still call to Willow. The darkness will be taking it's toll on her, but seeing as how she is a gray mage in this fic, and able to use both white and black magic, that will be a big help to her. You'll figure out how the keyblade master can bring ruin and chaos to the world in this chapter. Here's the update :D

WickedReds - Hope your finals went nicely. Thanks, I'm glad you liked how I had Tara and Faith figure everything out. And, yep, it's time for the test... And this chapter is the beginning.

Chapter Forty-Four: Outside Hollow Bastion

Once Buffy had set the ship's defense system, she and Willow stared at the world for another moment before turning. Not knowing what to expect, both girls walked past the others and opened a storage closet they'd been using to store their weapons and items. It had been her and Willow's idea to keep their weapons and items within reach, but out of site, and the closet had been the perfect size.

Buffy glanced around at the small bottles, and began taking as many mixes, Potions, Antidotes, Ethers, and Phoenix Downs as she could carry in her pouch. Turning she handed Willow just as many as would fit in her pouch, and hoped that they would be enough. Buffy was going to make damn sure they were ready for what was coming their way.

Willow took the items from Buffy, and placed them into her pouch, before grabbing the sword Xander had given her. The redhead then strapped the sheath for the sword around her waist, and sheathed the sword. Reaching up, she pulled down a pair of leg sheaths and handed them to Buffy, and watched as the Al Bhed strapped them on each leg. Reaching up once again, Willow took the small sharpe daggers from their hooks, and gave them to Buffy.

As Buffy sheathed her daggers; Willow looked around the small space, and picked up two diamond shape arm shields. She handed one to Buffy and strapped the other on her left wrist, Willow knew if things got bad they both could use the extra weapons, and a shield. Picking up two star shaped arm shields the redhead turned and tossed each to Tara and Faith, before turning away.

Tara could feel tears stinging her eyes as she caught the shield, and swallowed the lump that had formed in her throat, as she strapped the shield on her left wrist. After everything they'd been through, how could Willow keep something life threatening from her? The ex-summoner knew Willow loved her, and that was the only thing she could think of.

Willow's love for her, kept her from telling what was going to happen. But why couldn't Willow see that keeping something like that a secret, could very well be dangerous to her? Tara shook her head, when this was over, and the Heartless were gone, she was going to have a very long talk with her wife.

Faith had caught the shield, and sighed as she hung her head and was fighting off the tears that were threatening to fall, as she strapped the shield on. How could Buffy do this? Hell, how could Willow? Weren't they both to share everything with their lover's?

Didn't Buffy love her enough to trust her with this secret? A secret that could very well leave them dead, or dying on the floor. Faith knew she'd want to keep her lover safe, but she'd also tell her and the others if they were about to face what could be their doom.

Donald and Goofy had the feeling that something was wrong, but try as they might, neither could figure out what it was. The guys wathed Willow and Buffy load up on everything they could think of, but looked and acted as if they were in another world. Goofy tapped Donald's shoulder and nodded toward Tara and Faith. Their feeling of wrongness grew stronger, as they saw the girls fighting their tears back, they knew something was wrong, but somehow the guys knew Tara and Faith didn't know what it was.

The duck cast his worried gaze at Goofy -who met it with one of his own- and sighed. If the lovers didn't know what was going on, then they figured something bad was coming their way. And that thought worried them both.

"It's time." Buffy's emotionless voice startled the others out of their thoughts.

"Let's go." Willow's equally emotionless voice spoke as she approached the teleporter with Buffy by her side.

When everyone appeared they found themselves on a twenty-foot round section of frozen rock, and could see at least another six ahead of them. Two more smaller sections of frozen rock were moving up and down close to a large platform that very easily looked like it was fifty-foot round. They could also see to white stone pillars close to the far edge of the platform, leading into nothingness. And beyond that a large castle loomed in the distance.

The castle's towers were bigger and rounder than Bevelle's main temple, and the group could feel the darkness pouring from the towers in waves. A pitch-black swirling mist circled above the castle like a giant open maw ready to swallow everything whole. Black, red, and green lightning shot out of the swirling mist, and crackled in mid-air before hitting the towers, causing an extremly loud boom to echo across the area.

"Gawrsh," Goofy said in awe, "Look at that."

Buffy shivered, "I feel like I know this place."

"Same here," Willow said staring at the castle, "I feel a warmth inside...right here." she pointed to her chest.

"Hmm..." Goofy turned toward the two girls, and cocked his head, "That's strange."

Buffy and Willow had a very good reason as to why they felt the way they did. The castle the group was currently staring at had been Princess Tara, and Princess Faith's castle, but was different now that the Heartless had taken over. The warmth they would have felt if they'd ever visited before the princesses world was destroyed, was now replaced with only darkness. But there was something there calling to Willow and Buffy, something inside, and they truly wanted to answer.

Buffy felt like her heart was being pulled forward by something promising safety, and...truth? But what could that be? She only felt truly safe with Faith and the others, what could possibly be stronger than her love for her cousin; a woman that was more like a sister than a friend, and her lover? If Buffy would admit it, she'd say it felt good, and that was scaring her. And badly at that.

Willow felt like she was being pulled into two seperate directions at the same time. Like Buffy, she too, felt the promise of safety, and the truth of something she didn't know. But she could also feel the darkness' sweet siren-like song calling to her stronger than before.

The gray mage also felt something else overshadowing the call, and couldn't tell what exactly it was. But she was greatful it was there, she had no way of knowing how strong the darkness really was... Or if she could resist it long enough to get their job done.

What was in that castle that could make Willow feel even more loved than what Tara already did? Willow didn't think that was possible, whatever it was, it was screwing with her feelings, and that pissed her off. But not knowing also caused a chill to run up her spine. Whatever was calling to her was scaring her to death.

Faith was staring at her lover, and wondering just what in the hell was making her shake. It was warm enough, so it couldn't be the cold. The only thing she could think of was what she and Willow were keeping hiden.

Could whatever the secret was be that bad? She knew the darkness was stronger, but didn't think Buffy could feel it too bad, certainly not like Willow, or even Tara. Like she, Buffy had only just began casting real magic, could she feel how stronger it was? Faith felt the chill creep over her body. The darkness was worse than what it was on the ship.

Tara was no better than the rest, she actually was worse. The darkness was making her whole body ache, an ache that hurt right down to her bones. Being a white mage, and being in a place like this just did not mesh, and she was feeling a very powerful backlash of dark energy. But there was one thing that worried her more than her aching body, and that was the fact about her white magic.

Tara didn't know how well her magic would work in a place like this, hell, she didn't even know if it would work at all. And that small, but true fact worried her to no end. If one of them, or even herself were badly injured, how was she suppose to heal them? Tara hated that. If her magic just barely worked, or if it was blocked, how would it help save any one of them if they needed it? What if it was a critical hit? A life threatening injury? How would she help without her magic?

She had watched as Buffy and Willow took everything from Potions to Phoenix Downs, but was still worried. Those had to be swallowed, or poured directly on the wound to work, and during a heated battle they didn't have that much time. Her magic was quicker, all she had to do was cast it, and in healed as soon as it hit the injured party member.

"Aw, you're just hungry." Donald waved his hand in the air, and shaking his head at what Willow and Buffy had said. How did they know this place, especially when none of them had ever seen it before?

"Hey!" Buffy shouted, "I was serious!"

"Damn duck, you don't know what you're talking about." Willow glared, and jerked her head up when a growl echo. "Come on!" she shouted, and began jumping across the frozen rocks toward the large platform. She knew that was where the growl had come from, but how she knew, that Willow didn't know. It was a feeling; a feeling of pure darkness.

Up on the platform a large beast was kneeling on the ground, and above him stood the dark twins. "No vessel, and no help from the Heartless." Buffy's twin said staring down at the Beast, "Wow, you're a fool."

"Tell me," Willow's twin stepped back, "How'd you get here?"

The Beast looked up, "I simply believed. Nothing more to it." He growled in his deep voice, "When our world fell into darkness, Belle was taken from me. I vowed I would find her again no matter what the cost. I believed I would find her. So, here I am. She must be here. I will have her back!"

The twins smirked, "Take her if you can." Willow's twin said holding out a long dark sword.

Beast jumped forward knocking Buffy's twin to the ground as he swiped at Willow's twin, and fell back for the force of the blow when her sword connected with his chest.

"Stop!" Tara shouted as she and the others landed on the platform.

Buffy's twin stood brushing the dirt from her dark blue body suit, and smirked, "So, you finally made it, huh?"

"And about damn time, too!" Willow's twin grinned, and sheathed her weapon, "We've been waiting for you."

"We've pushed you to help us get our girls' hearts back, but you didn't want to." Buffy's twin stepped beside Willow's. "But it all ends here."

"Yes, there can't be two Keyblade masters with the same Keyblades, now can there?"

"What in hellfire are you talking about?!" Buffy growled, and felt something stir within her body, making her stronger.

Tara watched Willow as she began glowing, and could feel her fighting the darkness as she began to sweat, "We are the Keyblade masters!" Willow growled, her voice deeper than any of the others had ever heard.

"Well, then," Willow's twin smirk grew into an evil smile, "Let the Keyblades choose..."

"Their true masters!" Buffy's twin shouted, as she and Willow's twin thrust their right hands out.

Willow and Buffy stumbled as their Keyblades disappeared from their side, and into their twins' hands.

"Huh?" Donald quickly glanced from the twins to his friends.

"What?!" Goofy couldn't believe it, the Keyblades had switched masters?

"Maleficent was right," Buffy's twin said as she turned the blade over, "You don't have what it takes to help us save our girls."

Willow's twin nodded, "It's up to us. Only the Keyblade masters can open the secret door... and change the world."

"But that's impossible!" Willow shouted, "How could this have happened?!"

"We're the one's who fought our way here with the Keyblades!" Buffy stood glaring at her and Willow's twins.

"You were just the delivery girls."

"Sorry, but your part's over now." Willow's twin turned, and left with Buffy's twin at her side.

Donald grabbed Goofy's arm and tugged him toward the twins, "Come on, Goofy, let's go. We have to remember our mission."

"Oh! Well, I know the king told us to follow the key and all... But..."

"Sorry, girls..."

"Sorry?! What the fuck are you talking about?!" Faith screamed, "You're gonna leave us here to follow those bitches!? You've got to be kidding me!"

"You can't be serious." Tara shook her head, "After all they've done, you're just going to follow them?"

Willow looked at Buffy when she felt the darkness' pull on her weaken, and break when she fought back, they remembered, Let Donald and Goofy do what they want. "Let them go." Buffy kneeled next to Beast.

"It's their choice." Willow shrugged, as the guys hurriedly left to catch up with the twins.

"Don't move, you're hurt." Buffy said handing the Beast a potion.

"Why... Why did you-you come here?" Beast asked as he sat up, downing the potion at once, "I came to fight for Belle. And though I am on my own, I will fight. I won't leave without her. That's why I'm here."

"We're here to stop the Heartless." Faith had calmed down, and was now helping Beast to stand.

Tara nodded, "We're also here to help save the Princesses."

"And we aren't gonna leave until we do."

Willow turned toward the castle, "No, we're going to kill every Heartless in the way, and stop Maleficent."

Well to say that I was surprised that the keyblades choose to go with the dark twins it's putting it middly, but then again they're Willow and Buffy's twins and the darkness is in them... kinda fit with the whole picture about the keyblade master can bring ruin and chaos to the world .

Tara and Faith's thoughts were like mine too how can they keep a secret from them after all they'd been through? oh! and the whole Willow and Buffy feeling something promising safety and truth even more than with their lovers... :fit2

Anyway... a chapter full of emotions...

Great update, more please. :bounce :bounce :bounce

Chapter 45

Postby Stormforce » Mon Dec 20, 2004 6:38 pm

Egnalos - I thought that the keyblades switching masters would be a little more than surprising, but you know me, I love keeping things twisted :D To Willow and Buffy keeping Tara and Faith in the dark will keep them safe, but we all know that keeping something like that usually ends up with someone being hurt. And the "promising of safty and truth"...you could say that's the darkness working on them, and trying to bring the girls into the dark. Here's the update.

WickedReds - The darkness helped the dark twins get the keyblades, however them keeping the blades is another thing... :D

Chapter Forty-Five: Finding A Way In

After Beast was healed and could stand without help the group approached the stone pillars, and touched a small blue crystal at the side, causing a large round caged platform to appear. The group had stepped on and were now riding it toward the castle.

Willow and Buffy kept a firm grip on their weapons, and could feel their lovers eyes on them, but didn't turn around. After what had happened with the twins, they didn't want to face the girls just yet.

How could they explain what had happened, especially if they didn't know exactly what'd happened? Mickey had given them the Keyblades, not their twins. But how did the twins summon the blades to them? Wasn't their hearts in the right place? Had the darkness they'd felt caused the Keyblades to obey the twins' call? But how could that be? The twins were also using darkness, and thus their bodies were covered in it. Neither Willow, nor Buffy knew, but they were going to find out.

Tara and Faith were worried. After Willow had said they were going to stop Maleficent, neither her, nor Buffy had said a word. They had only stared forward seemingly lost in their thoughts. Both worried lovers were wondering if they knew why the Keyblades had switched masters, but having seen the way they'd acted, they didn't think so.

It was then that Tara had began to wonder if the darkness had somehow helped the twins, and had covered Willow and Buffy's hearts. Right about now, nothing would surprise her. All she knew was she and Faith would have to be on guard.

The platform stopped on a stone U shaped walkway, with a gate to the right leading to another section, and a twenty-foot tall set of double doors up and to the left. Past the double doors the walkway continued around to another door, and a small balcony with another crystal. The crystal was glowing red, and the group wondered what it controlled. Overhead they could see smaller platforms moving from the left to the right, and made a circle back. Maybe that's what the crystal controlled, but there was only one way to find out, and right now wasn't the time.

The redhead narrowed her eyes, it was just a little too quite, especially since the twins knew they were there. Even with the swirling darkness overhead; the castle was lit up like the sun was shining down on it. Even in the light, nothing felt right.

The feeling of darkness had grown even stronger as they approached the castle, and was now hurting even the gray mage. The feel of the darkness was making the Al Bhed girl sick, and even her lover wasn't looking to great. But even for how all three hurt, and felt sick; Tara was worse. Her face had gone pale and she was struggling to fight off the sickness that had settled in the pit of her stomach.

Buffy started forward, and was held back, turning she saw Willow shake her head, "Doesn't feel right. Be on guard." the Al Bhed nodded, and gripped her daggers. If the gray mage was uneasy -but then, who wasn't- she'd listen and keep her guard up. All they had to do was find the twins, possibly get their Keyblades back, and defeat Maleficent.

Faith slowly approached the gate, and found it open, now why would that be open? Those twins knew they were there, so why not block every possible entrance leading into the castle? Right now it didn't matter, all she wanted to do was get done what needed to be, and get the hell away from here, before everyone went insane from the darkness. And by the looks of things, Willow and Buffy weren't that far from going totally nuts on them.

Tara watched as Willow and Buffy carefully walked forward, and could feel the uneasiness growing stronger, and then she felt it. A wave of sickness swept over her body, as the darkness grew stronger, and two small portals appeared behind the girls. Her warning came too late and she could only watch as Willow and Buffy were knocked forward by to large black and purple balls, with glowing yellow eyes. Beast roared and leaped forward, slashing another ball as it appeared, his sharp claws cutting it in half.

"Scan!"

Tara turned and saw Faith staring at the balls, and had to smile. In this place, why not use something that'll give you an advantage on the enemy?

[Scan]

Name: Darkball

HP: 240

Attack Power: 76

Defence Power: 54

Weakness: Thunder, Fire, Gravity, and Holy

[End]

"Use your magic!" Faith shouted to Willow, before turning to Tara, "Holy! Use Holy!"

The white mage nodded, and could only hope that her magic would at the very least work as she held her hands out. Willow back flipped away from the Heartless when she saw the Holy spell shoot forward, and saw Buffy duck down. The spell exploded around both Darkballs, knocking them to the ground; Buffy stabbed the closest one with her daggers, and felt Willow slide forward thrusting her sword into the other. Both Heartless disappeared with a pop, and leaving the walkway quite again.

Faith sighed, and was thrown forward as a flying Heartless hit her back, and knocked her over the railing; Buffy screamed and covered the distance between them in two jumps. Willow also shot forward casting a Flare spell, and knocking the creature down, but wasn't fast enough to hit the last. Tara cried out, more in fright than pain, as she was knocked over the railing. Beast growled, jumping up, and catching the Heartless with his claws, and knocking it to the ground where he finished it off.

"Don't you let go!" Buffy grunted as her grip on Faith's wrist tightened to the point it was painful, "I swear if you do, I'll hunt you down on the Farplane, and chase you around with my daggers!"

"Same here, Tara!" Willow half grunted, half growled, as she pulled the white mage up, "You let go, and I'll chase you around with my sword! That's a promise!"

After taking care of the Heartless; Beast hurried over and leaned between Willow and Buffy, grabbing and pulling the two girls up, and back over the railing.

Willow wrapped her arms around Tara, and sighed, she caught the same motion from Buffy, and saw her doing the same with Faith. They had thought they'd lost their lover's, it was a long way down, and neither she, nor Buffy could have saved them. Willow wasn't even sure if the Float spell Faith and Buffy knew would have helped all that much, but had faith that it would have. Either way, it had been a very good chance of them almost losing their girls.

Beast watched the four girls before he approached the double doors, and pushed, shaking his head the beast man turned. "The doors have a mechinal lock, we need to find a way to unlock them." he spoke and headed for the gate to the right, and could feel -without glancing back- the girls were right behind him.

"Hey, there's another crystal." Faith pointed to a small blue glowing crystal, and watched as Tara touched it, causing another small caged platform to rise.

Tara, after touching the crystal, felt better, it was like the darkness' sickness had been taken from her. The color came back to her face, as her strength began flowing through her body again; Willow watched as her lover stood straighter, and sighed. She was relieved that somehow Tara was feeling better, and felt the darkness pushed away from her own body. Glancing around she could see that Buffy was breathing easier, as was Faith, and it could only be one thing -or rather two people- Tara and Faith's twins.

"Let's see where this leads, shall we?" Tara stepped on to the platform with the others by her side, and waited as the elevator-like cage took them down. Ten minutes passed as the platform lowered, and finally came to a stop on the castle's bottom level.

"What the..." Buffy trailed off as she stepped forward, and glanced around. She really couldn't see much since it was dark, and startled when Willow cast a low-level Fire spell on a torch.

With the flame lighting the corridor, the group could see they were in what looked like catacombs, causing the girls to shiver. They remembered what happened the last time they were in a place like this, the skeleton's coming to life, and chasing them around, and then entering Omega's temple to rescue Tara, and Mythe. The girls could only hope there wasn't anything like that just waiting in the dark for them to make one wrong move.

"Do not worry, there isn't anything dangerous down here." Beast said stepped forward, and glancing down another dark tunnel, "I can feel it, there is no darkness here."

Willow had to agree, she couldn't feel anything speaking to her black magic, and could also see that Tara was a lot better than she was on the walkway, "Yeah, it's like the darkness, and the Heartless can't get down here." The gray mage shrugged, and stepped beside Beast, "Well, shall we?"

"Yeah, let's find a way to open the doors, and get this over with." Faith said, and just to be on the safe side, unsheathed her blade.

As the group walked through the maze-like corridor, to find the machine to unlock the doors, up in a large chamber deep within the castle sat six tubes on either side of a red, and black carpet. Under each tube was a golden name plate, and in each tube was an unconscious woman. The three on the left were Belle, Jasmine, and Aurora, and the three on the right were Snow White, Alice, and Cinderella.

Above the unconscious women was a circular balcony where Maleficent appeared, and stared down at Tara and Faith's twins -who were laying on the floor in a purple capsule shaped barrier.

The witch smiled her evil smile as she looked around the room, it hadn't been hard to get all the princesses, but it hadn't been easy either. But having those two fools helping had been the best thing she could have ever done, and to think, the witch though, her her evil smile growing wider, they think their lover's can be saved, what fools! she chuckled evilly, and raised her staff over her head.

"O purest of hearts!" Maleficent shouted, "Reveal to me the Keyhole!" The hearts of the princesses began glowing, and shot a beam toward a space behind the witch.

Maleficent was so focused on the beams of light that she never knew when the group found a way to unlock the double doors, nor did she know that they were now retracing their steps, and was ready to enter the castle.

Chapter Forty-Six: A Hooded Man?

Willow glanced at Buffy and nodded before both girls pushed on the double doors, letting Beast enter first as was his wish, before they, too, followed. Tara and Faith kept their guard up as they entered, and looked around the large circular room. Faith let out a whistle as she took in the Entrance Hall.

The room itself was at least forty foot round, with a large ten foot tall fountain built into the far wall that stood out making a five foot half circle. The water was shooting three foot into the air, and made a flower shape at the top, and fell back to the fountain pool at the bottom.

The only other thing on the first floor was a set of spiraling stairs leading to a second floor balcony, and from there was another set leading to the third floor. Tara could see a doorway, and another door on the second floor one on either side of the balcony, and one door on the third floor. A pair of four foot tall dragon statues set on either side of the doorway as if they were guarding it.

The group felt a wave of darkness wash over their bodies, and shivered, not again, Willow thought with a mental groan. The gray mage chanced a glance over her shoulder to see if her lover was doing alright, and felt a wave of relief when Tara didn't show any signs of being sick.

"Be on your guard," Beast looked down at Willow, "They're close, I can feel it."

Willow nodded, "I can feel it too." she said and saw Buffy nod, she also knew that Tara and Faith could also feel it, but it didn't seem to be effecting them, and chanced another glance. Nope, Tara still looked fine, as did Faith. Ever since they'd stepped inside the castle the darkness felt stronger than before. Willow was just glad it wasn't calling to her black magic.

"Belle?" Beast suddenly stood straighter, and turned. A section of the wall slid up revealing Belle; Beast took a step forward, and growled when Belle turned into a Shadow Heartless. Beast roared furiously and lunged forward, getting trapped inside when the wall slid down.

"Dammit!" Faith shot forward with the others right behind her, and tried to get the wall to raise, or at least break it down. Willow cast a Flare spell, as Buffy threw a Pineapple mix. The spell and mix exploded as each came into contact with the door; the girls shook their heads when the dust cleared. There wasn't a scratch on the door.

They could hear Beast growling and the sounds of a heated battle going on behind the wall-door, and were powerless to help. "Quit while you can."

The four girls turned readying their weapons as the dark twins appeared with Donald and Goofy by their sides. Buffy sneered at her twin as she gripped her daggers, "No, I don't think so."

"She's right, we're not going anywhere until we defeat Maleficent." Willow said unsheathing her sword.

The dark twins smirked as a black mist surrounded them, and they began to grow more powerful. The blue body suits changed to purple in the front and back, and black on the sides. There was also a heart shape in the center with three red jagged lines breaking the heart into three seprate pieces.

"The darkness will destroy you." Willow's twin said when the black mist disappeared into her body.

Willow cut her eyes toward Tara, and stepped in front of her just when Buffy stepped in front of Faith, "You're wrong. The darkness may destroy my body, but there's no way in hellfire it'll touch my heart."

The Al Bhed firmly nodded, "Will is right. Even if it does destroy us, our hearts will stay with our lovers and friends."

"Our hearts will never die." Willow stepped forward bringing her sword up, ready to strike if either of the twins even thought about moving toward them, or Tara and Faith.

"Really?" Buffy's twin smirked raising her hand that was now glowing blackish red.

Willow's twin rose her hand as it began glowing purplish red, "We'll just have to see about that!"

A ball of energy shot forward from each twins' hands, and was reflected off Willow's sword, and Buffy's daggers. Neither of the girls saw the energy rebound back until it was too late.

"Don't think about it." Buffy's twin said when she saw Tara and Faith step forward, "You can't help them now." she smirked as another ball of energy hit just a few inches in front of their feet, causing a small forcefield to rise, stopping the girls from advancing any further.

"Bitch!" Faith growled hitting the shimmering energy with her blade.

The twins smirked and shrugged, as they raised their hands and shot another ball of energy at the two immobilized girls. Both dark twins gaped when their energy disappeared right before hitting either girl, and Goofy stepped in front of them with his shield held up.

"They ain't gonna go anywhere!" Goofy lowered his shield, but stayed on guard. He may have had orders to follow the masters of the Keyblades, but there was no way he was gonna allow this. The Keyblade masters shouldn't be evil, they should be like the girls he was currently standing in front of, not like their twins.

Goofy had to wonder just how the twins had called the Keyblades to them, they were covered in darkness -even he could feel it- so why had the blades answered the call? He may not be too smart, at least not like the king, and the others, or even Willow and the girls, but he knew the blades shouldn't have reacted to the twins. Another thing he had to wonder about was if the twins in the other worlds would have called to the blades, would they have answered?

"You'd betray your king?" Willow's twin asked lowering her hand.

Goofy shook his head, "Not on your life!" he said and looked over his shoulder at the girls, and saw the energy surrounding them disappear, and the force field lower, "But I won't betray the girls either, cause they've become my best buddies after all we've been through together!"

Goofy turned and grinned when he saw Tara and Faith checking their lover's over for wounds, "Donald. Could ya tell the king I'm really sorry?" he asked and stepped toward the girls.

"Hold on, Goofy!" Donald shouted catching up with his friend, "We'll tell him together." he smiled as he and Goofy stood in front of the girls, "Well, you know... All for one and one for all."

Goofy grinned once more, "Guess you're stuck with us."

"Thanks guys." Willow and Buffy smiled.

Tara glanced between her wife, and cousin, shouldn't they be angry that the two had left? Hell, she was a little angry at them, but she knew they had to follow the Keyblade masters...no matter who they were. But that still didn't explain why they weren't at least a little mad, even if they'd said to let them go. Tara sighed, she really didn't understand a lot of things, and this was giving her a headache. Or was it the darkness? Either way, she decided to let it go...for now.

Faith on the other hand was still pissed that Donald and Goofy had left them, and ran off with the twins. She couldn't believe that her lover, or even Willow wasn't ready to blow their tops. Yes, it was true they had said to let them go, but why? And why didn't they care? Faith clenched her fist, she was going to find out if it killed her, and if it did, well, she'd just have to come back and haunt Buffy.

"And just how will you fight without the Keyblade?" Willow's twin asked cocking her head to the right, and causing Tara to do a doubletake. The twin, at that moment, had looked so much like her own lover, and it caused the ex-summoner to sigh. Why had the Heartless screwed these two young women over?

Willow looked up, and stared straight into her twin's eyes, "I don't need the Keyblade." she said causing Buffy to nod.

"Got that right, we've got better weapons. Our hearts."

"Your hearts?" Willow's twin rolled her eyes. Like that can help.

"What good will that weak little thing do for you?" Buffy's twin sneered and snorted, "You really think that'll work?"

"Although our hearts may be weak, they are not alone." Buffy said, and smiled at Donald and Goofy, "Our hearts have grown with each new experience, and they've found a home with all the friends that we've made."

"Yeah, we've become a part of their hearts just as they've become a part of ours. And if they think of us now and then, if they don't forget about us, then our hearts will be one." Willow readied her sword, "I don't need a weapon."

Glancing at Buffy, the redhead saw that she, too, had readied her daggers; the Al Bhed gave her smile before looking at her twin, "Our friends are our power!" they both said at the same time, and gaped in surprise as the Keyblades disappeared from their twins' hands, and reappeared in theirs.

The twins stared in confusion as their body suits turned back into the blue, and felt the darkness' power in their bodies leaving them. "Dammit!" Buffy's twin shouted before she and Willow's twin turned and ran when the wall slid up allowing the Beast to re-enter the room.

"So, it was your hearts that won this battle." Beast said impressed that these young women had a strong enough heart to repel the darkness. But the one time prince was happy that the girls hadn't lost their hearts, and fell into darkness. No, he thought as proud as he could be of the girls he'd just met, these girls...young women, are special. But there is something there, something that they're hiding from the others, but what could it be?

Grabbing Donald and Goofy, Beast walked toward the stairs as he pulled the guys behind him. Willow and Buffy watched him go, and grinned before they both frowned when they felt their lover's eyes on them.

The gray mage felt like sinking through the floor -or at least disappearing- as Tara's gaze burned into the back of her head. Chancing a glance at Buffy, she saw the blonde trying to ignore Faith's burning gaze, and raised her head toward the ceiling.

Faith cleared her throat, causing Buffy's eyes to widen, she knew she was in for it, why hadn't they just told them what was going on? Now it was too late, and Buffy knew Faith was most likely pissed off! And if she knew Tara -which she did- Willow was in for it too. And they were in deep.

"Buffy." Faith said and Buffy's eye's went even wider.

"Willow." Tara spoke causing Willow to freeze, she was in trouble.

Buffy grabbed Willow's hand, and tried to ignore their lover's, "Say, Will, how 'bout catching up with the guys?" Her voice was high-pitched, and fast.

Willow nodded quickly, "Yeah, maybe they've found something that needs our attention." she squeeked, and ran off with Buffy right beside her.

"What's their problem?" Faith asked watching the two girls run up the stairs, all she really wanted to know was if Buffy felt alright.

Tara shrugged, "I don't know." she blinked, "I was just going to ask if Will was okay after having that energy wrapped around her body."

"That's all I was going to ask B, but they bolted like they were in...trouble." Faith smirked, and saw the same smirk on Tara's face, "They thought that they were in trouble." she chuckled.

"Well, I hope they know we won't let it go, and by them running away from us, it just gets them deeper into trouble." Tara giggled, as she and Faith followed their lover's lead, and ran up the stairs.

At the top of the stairs Tara saw everyone standing just inside the doorway, and approached, "What's wrong?" she asked and stared at a tall gray door with the same black heart that was on the twins' body suit.

"What's this?" Faith raised her eyebrows, "Don't tell me we have to find the heart to open the door."

Donald nodded, "Looks like it...but if I'm right, there's three pieces we have to find."

"One for each line breaking the heart." Goofy studied it a second longer before turning, "Guess we'd better get moving." he said and could only hope they found the pieces before something bad happened.

The dark twins were running down a long hallway leading to the center of the castle, and couldn't believe what'd just happened, "Why? Why the hell did the Keyblades go back to them?" Willow's twin growled.

"Dunno, but it sucks!" Buffy's twin said and stopped dead in her tracks beside Willow's twin, "What the hell is that?" she asked, and could see Willow's twin shrug as she stared at a shimmering black portal.

"Know this." A hodded man said as he appeared out of the portal, "The heart that is strong and true shall win the Keyblade."

"What?" Buffy's twin shouted, and gave the man a glare.

"You're saying our heart's are weaker then theirs?" Willow's twin crossed her arms as she shook her head, "I don't believe it."

The hooded man nodded, "Yes, just for that instant, you're hearts were weaker. However, you can become stronger."

"How? Tell us!" Buffy's twin stood straighter, and saw Willow's twin uncross her arms giving the man her full attention.

"You showed no fear in stepping through the door to darkness, it held no terror for either of you. Plunge deeper into the darkness, and your hearts will grow even stronger."

The dark twins glanced at one another before turning back to the man, "What do we do?" Willow's twin asked, she was ready for anything, especially if it meant getting her lover back.

"It's really quite simple." The man said taking a step forward, "Open yourselves to the darkness. That is all. Just let you hearts, your being, become darkness itself."

The twins stepped back and stared at the man, trying to catch a glimpse of his face, but could see nothing past the hood. Become darkness? Was that really possible? And if becoming darkness wouldn't they lose everything? But then again, what did they have to lose? Right now their lovers were lying unconscious in the chapel, all because of the damned Heartless. But what if it worked, and they did grow more powerful, they could save their lovers then.

Willow's twin glanced at the girl beside her, and nodded, "Alright, what do we gotta do?"

Even though they couldn't see it, the hooded man smiled an evil smile, "Just take these." He said handing each girl a necklace made of a shiny black stone, "and wear it." the twins watched the man disappear.

Willow's twin ran her finger over the smooth stone and sighed, "Well, here goes nothing." she said and clasped the chain around her neck, at the same time as Buffy's twin did.

Both twins stumbled to the side, and hit the wall before they fell to the floor grabbing their heads in pain. Willow's twin let out a painful groan as a painfilled scream tore through Buffy's twin's throat, before both girls fell face down, unconscious.

Chapter Forty-Seven: A Feeling of Warmth

Tara and Faith were keeping their eyes on their lovers, something strange had occured when everyone had stepped away from the Heart door. Willow and Buffy had stumbled and grabbed their chests where their hearts were, and groaned.

The expression on their faces looked as if someone had stabbed them, and they were in pain. Both girls had rushed to their lovers sides, and helped them to stand, all the while asking if they were alright.

Willow had nodded, "Yeah, I'm-I'm fine." she had said, and shook her head.

"I'm okay." Buffy had told Faith, and glanced at Willow.

"What happened?" Faith asked at the same time as Tara, and glanced between the girls.

Whatever that had been felt as if something had been trying to push it's way into her heart, and thus causing her heart to flutter. It had scared her more than hurt, she didn't know what had happened, but was afraid to say anything. Studying Willow, Buffy cocked her head to the right, she was sure it had felt that way to her, also, but should they tell Tara and Faith? At that moment Willow looked up and stared into her eyes, and she knew what that look was telling her.

"It felt like something was pushing into my heart." Buffy said, relieved that Willow also thought they should tell the girls what they'd felt, "I don't know what it was, but it scared more than hurt..."

"Is that what you felt, sweetie?" Tara placed her hand over Willow's heart, and felt it beating fast than normal, and cut her eyes toward Faith, "Feel Buffy's heart."

Faith did like Tara asked, worried about what she'd feel, and quirked her eyebrows, Buffy's heart was beating faster than it should, "Do you feel okay?" she asked looking at her lover, and saw her nod, "What about you Will? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, why are you asking?" Willow began to get worried, why were Tara and Faith staring at her and Buffy?

Tara took Willow's hand, and placed it over her heart, "Feel," she said, and watched as Willow's eyes widened slightly, "My heart's beating at twice the speed...that's odd." Glancing at Buffy, she saw the same confusion on the Al Bhed's face, "Yours the same?"

"Yeah, it's weird...almost like when your scared and your heart beats faster."

Willow shook her head, she didn't know what was going on, hell, how could she? All she knew was of this test; a test she figured they'd started as soon as they had appeared on this world, but didn't know when it'd be finished. The redhead sighed, and remember Tara's eariler question, "Yeah, what Buffy said, that's what I felt. It was like this warmth entered my body, and joined my heart."

Buffy nodded, "That's what it felt like to me, a warmth trying to find a place in my heart." she stopped and stared at the ceiling, "But what could have it been? Could it have been the darkness?"

"I don't think so." Faith said glancing at Tara, and seeing her agree with a nod, "The darkness I've felt was cold, it had no warmth."

Willow once again sighed, when the darkness was calling to her black magic, she'd felt as if it had been the answer to every question she'd ever asked, or been faced with. But had it been warm? To tell the truth, she couldn't remember, all she could remember was that when the darkness had had her, it felt odd, and just a little painful. "What did the darkness feel like to you?" Tara asked startling her from her thoughts.

The gray mage stared into her wife's eyes, and shrugged, "Weird, and there was a little pain."

"Is that what you felt trying to join with you?" Faith asked gripping her blade. She hated to do it, but she didn't know what would happen if Willow, or Buffy was taken over by the darkness. How would they act? Would they act like their twins, and try to kill them?

Tara was wondering the same things, would Willow, or Buffy allow themselves to be tainted by the darkness? Would they join their twins in trying to bring the darkness into the world, or worlds? And what about she and Faith? Would they leave them to the Heartless? The twins had certainly left their lovers in the hands of the Heartless, but they also had thought that their lovers wouldn't be hurt. She really didn't think Willow, nor Buffy would allow any of this to happen, but there was always a chance for things to go wrong, and Tara didn't like it one bit.

"No, that wasn't the darkness...I don't know what it was, but I know for sure it wasn't the darkness trying to get inside me." Willow said firmly, she'd noticed the way Faith had been gripping the hilt so tight her knuckles were white, but she couldn't blame her. If she or Buffy was taken over by the darkness she would want Tara and Faith to be safe, not hurt, especially not by she and Buffy.

Buffy, too, had saw the way Faith was gripping her blade, and fought back her tears. Glancing at Tara she could see the worry etched across her face, and had to wonder, had she and Willow really worried them that much? The Al Bhed lowered her head, how could they have done that? She knew they weren't suppose to know about the test, but why? What was so bad about them knowing? Her head shot up, and her eyes found Willow's, when a single thought crossed her mind.

Willow had looked from Faith's hand to her lover, and nearly broke down crying right then and there. The worried look Tara was giving Faith hurt her to no end. Clenching her fist Willow gave the floor a hard stare; Tara was worried for her, and why not? What had she done to keep her from worrying? Nothing, not a damn thing! And what for, all because of a damn test! Why were she and Buffy told not to tell their lovers? What would have been the harm in them knowing? Her eyes widened and found Buffy's when she raised her head, as the same thought Buffy had crossed her mind.

If they had told their lovers about this test when they'd first had the dream in Monstro, Tara and Faith would have tried to stop it. Neither of them would have allowed them to take on something as dangerous sounding as a test they didn't know what was about. And even if they had allowed it, both girls would, even now, be trying to protect them. And that couldn't happen, if Tara, or even Faith protected either of them, whatever needed to happen, wouldn't. And if it didn't happen, the Heartless could very well take over every world they found, and destroy it.

As the thought crossed the girls' minds they felt something within them; a warmth that was telling them they were right, "Hey, c'mon." Willow grinned, "I ain't gone all dark, so let's help the guys find the pieces we need, and get this over with."

"Yeah, Will's right," Buffy nodded, and smirked, "The darkness ain't gunna get ahold of us. So, no worries."

"Don't tease like that, okay?" Tara asked softly, she hated the idea that the darkness was after anyone, but she hated it more that Willow and Buffy could tease about it.

"Sorry, love," Willow wrapped her arms around Tara's waist in a gentle embrace, "The darkness won't get any of us, that's a promise." she whispered and kissed Tara's neck before pulling back, "Now, let's go." Willow kept Tara's hand in her's, and held back a set of giggles when Buffy nearly pulled Faith off her feet.

It took the group all of thirty minutes to find the three heart pieces, and a rather painful battle with several more Heartless shadows, soldiers, and another new one that wore a dark purple robe, and carried a mage's staff. Tara quitely giggled when Willow let out another growl, just as she'd been doing for the past ten minutes since she'd been knocked over the second floor balcony, and into the fountain on the first floor.

Faith shook her head when Buffy groaned and rubbed her ass where a rather powerful, and very painful lightning bolt had hit her. Faith snorted trying hold back her laughter at remembering Buffy jumping five-foot in the air, and letting out a scream that had stopped everyone -including the Heartless- when one of the mage Heartless had cast a Thunder spell. Buffy had then turned, marched straight up to the Heartless mage, grabbed him/her/it...whatever it was, and began shaking as she screamed at it never to do that again.

After the Al Bhed had dropped the mage it had quickly disappeared, and hadn't rejoined the battle. Apparently Buffy had scared the living hell out of it, and it wasn't going to take another chance on any of the others. One shaking was enough for the mage.

And now here they were standing on a small five foot wide walkway in a large room with more machina machines than they'd ever seen in the Al Bhed Home. Buffy -to say the least- was impressed. There was a thirty foot tall, twenty-foot round machina in the middle of the room, and the group could see steam rising from the metal. Must be to control those caged platforms, Tara thought watching a set of platforms rise up, and lower down, and another set moving from right to left.

Buffy whistled, "Wow, these things would be cool at Home!" the Al Bhed's eyes glazed over, "I wouldn't have to climb any more stairs!"

Willow lowered her head, and bit her bottom lip trying not to her giggles get the best of her, here was a girl that had had to walk all over the place when they were in Spira...well, that was only if she wasn't trying to kill them with her reckless airship flying. And now she was complaining about climbing stairs? The gray mage couldn't help it, she laughed and shook her head.

"What?" Buffy turned around, "I'm serious! Those damn stairs are murder!"

Tara giggled, "Umm, I think we should, you know, go now." Before I lose it.

Castle Chapel

The dark twins were sitting in front of the door leading to the darkness, and Maleficent was standing beside Tara and Faith's twins. The twins looked over their shoulders at the door before setting their eyes on the witch, and smirked.

"Well, I see the path has emerged at last." Willow's twin spoke with another, more, deeper voice overlapping hers, and causing Maleficent to nod.

"Yes. The Keyhole to the darkness."

Buffy's twin once again looked at the door, "You know, if you unlock it the Heartless will overrun this world." she said with a voice exactly like Willow's.

"What do I care?" Maleficent snapped, "The darkness holds no power over me. Rather, I will use its power to rule all worlds."

"Such confidence." Willow's twin said as a dark razor sharp Keyblade appeared in her right hand, and saw another appear in Buffy's. Both Keyblades were black with a dark purple hilt, wide at the top and narrowed down to a fine point at the tip.

"Impossible!" Maleficent shouted trying to open the door, and finding it sealed shut, "The princesses of heart are all here!" the witch turned and glared down at Tara and Faith's twins, "It must be them!"

"Without their hearts," Buffy's twin spoke in a bored tone, as she stared at her Keyblade, "They will never be able to release their power."

Maleficent quickly turned toward the double doors, and narrowed her eyes, "The king's fools are here." she sneered, "I'll deal with them myself, you two stay here and guard the princesses." Maleficent disappeared, leaving behind to very bored girls -who sighed- and leaned against the door.

Oh! update...

Mmmmhhhh... so that's why Willow and Buffy couldn't tell Tara and Faith about their dream uh? well as long as everyone is safe; but if you ask me the whole thing of keeping secrets is still bad because Tara and Faith have to go through all the worry and pain that brings seeing their lovers hurt and in danger so... :no

And well the last part of the chapter left me a little confused again with the dark twins and the keyblades, only this time were dark keyblades? or something like that. I guess I'll have to read again to see what I missed, and let me tell you that reading while you're sick ain't easy but then again reading fics it's a really good medicine and helps me feel a little bit better specially great fics like yours.

Well I'm going to rest for a bit now...

Great chapter. More soon? :bounce :bounce :bounce

Chapter 48

Postby Stormforce » Mon Jan 03, 2005 4:19 pm

Egnalos - I have to agree, keeping the secret of the test is bad just because of the hurt the girls go through. But neither Tara, nor Faith would have let Willow and Buffy go through with it, especially not knowing how dangerous it is. The dark twins do have dark keyblades, and their use will be revealed in this chapter. I'm sorry to hear that you're sick, hope you get to feeling better. And here's the update :)

Chapter Forty-Eight: Battle with Maleficent

"I'm afraid you're too late." Maleficent spoke as the group entered the front part of the Castle Chapel, "Any moment now, the final Keyhole will be unsealed. This world will be plunged into darkness. It is unstoppable!" the witch laughed evilly raising her hands above her head.

"We'll stop it!" Tara shouted, beating Willow to the punch, and causing the redhead to smirk as she glared at Maleficent.

"You really think that after coming all this way that we'll just lay down and let you win?" Faith rolled her eyes as she brought up her blade, "Well, think again!"

"Yeah! There's no way we're gonna let that happen!" Buffy shouted raising her own blade.

"You poor, simple fools." Maleficent shook her head sadly, before chuckling, "You think you can defeat me? Me, the mistress of all evil?"

Willow cocked her head to the right, "We'll fight you, and we will defeat you!" she shouted racing forward, and striking the witch.

Maleficent screamed in rage as the blade tore through her black dress, ripping it open from the left side to the right, and knocking Willow back with her staff. The redhead landed on the ground, and skidded to a halt beside Tara, who was concentrating on a Holy spell; Willow rolled to the side as a Thunder spell crashed to the floor where she'd been kneeling. Buffy ran forward, throwing a Firestorm mix just before her blade was blocked by the witches' staff, and was pushed back as Tara's Holy spell exploded around the witch.

The ground where Maleficent was standing slowly rose into the air, and hovered six feet above the group as it moved toward the back of the room. Faith followed, jumped into the air, and spun around, her blade connecting with Maleficent's staff, just as a Thundaga spell hit the witch.

Taking a chance, and glancing over her shoulder; Faith saw Donald readying another spell, and back flipped away when his Fira spell exploded. With Maleficent staggering; Goofy jumped into the air and began spinning around, his shield in front of him, and hitting Maleficent seven times before she knocked him away.

Another Holy spell erupted causing Maleficent to scream in anger, and cast a Waterga spell, followed by a Thundaga spell. Willow was thrown back by the force of both spells, and convulsed as the electricity rolled over her soaked body. Buffy soon joined Willow as the Blizzaga and Firaga spells hit her head on, first freezing her, and then burning her to the point she couldn't help but scream in pain.

Tara hurriedly cast her most powerful healing spell on each girl, and sighed in relief when they fully worked, at least she knew now that her healing spells would work, and narrowed her eyes at the witch, before casting another -stronger- Holy spell.

Faith growled and waited until Tara's spell exploded, before she jumped up onto the platform Maleficent was standing on, and brought her blade down, first left, and then coming back up from the right. Maleficent was knocked off the platform and onto the ground, where Goofy attacked her once more, before she sent him flying back with a Thundaga spell. Goofy hit the wall with a sickening thud, and fell to the floor unconscious; Donald seeing the blood run down his friend's head caused the duck to turn, glow for a split second, and cast the strongest Thundaga spell he'd ever had.

Maleficent hit the wall as electricity crackled, and sparked on her body, before she fell to her knees, and glared at the group. Raising her hand, she sent a shockwave toward the group, knocking them into the wall, before a portal appeared and she slipped through, and never noticed a piece of paper flutter to the floor.

With a groan, Tara stood, and cast Curaga on the entire group, healing their wounds, and watched as Donald helped Goofy to stand. "Well, should we?" Buffy asked approaching the portal, and crouching down to pick up the paper, "Another report." she mumbled before stuffing it in her pouch.

"Yeah, we should." Willow narrowed her eyes at the black portal, "She's not gonna get away."

"Will's right," Faith nodded to the portal, "If we let her go, she'll only cause more trouble."

"Then let's go, and get this over with." Tara spoke taking Willow's hand, and stepping through the portal with the other's right behind them.

Maleficent slowly stagger to the center of the room, and stopped as she held her hand to her chest. She couldn't believe the king's creeps had beaten her. This was not how it was suppose to be, she was suppose to rule over everything, not be beaten by a bunch of lowlifes.

"Do you need some help?" Buffy's twin asked as she and Willow's twin appeared behind her.

"You!" Faith shouted, and gripped her blade.

Donald stared at the blades in the girls' hands, and gasped, "Is that--"

"Yes," Willow's twin nodded, and smirked, "A Keyblade. But unlike yours, this Keyblade holds the power to unlock people's hearts."

"Allow me to demonstrate," Buffy's twin grinned, and quickly thrust her Keyblade into Maleficent's heart, "Behold!"

"Wha-" Maleficent went wide-eyed, and gasped.

"Now, open your heart, surrender it to the darkness!" Willow's twin shouted, "Become darkness itself!"

"Have fun." Buffy's twin smirked, as she pulled the Keyblade from the witchs' heart, and disappeared with Willow's twin.

"This is it!" Maleficent shouted, "This power! Darkness... The true darkness!" she cackled madly as her form changed, and she turned into a large black dragon.

Buffy blinked, "This is not good." she said, and dodged as the dragon's tail swiped at her and the others.

"No shit." Faith shook her head, and back flipped away from the tail again, as she cast a Thundaga spell.

Goofy spun forward, hitting the dragon's right front leg, causing the beast to stumble. Beast ran forward, using his large paw to swipe at the dragon's side, and leaving four deep wounds before he was knocked back against the wall. Willow nodded toward Faith, before she leaped forward, using Faith's cupped hands to flip onto the dragon's back, and brought her blade down on it's head. The dragon reared up causing Willow to grab on to one of its' spikes to keep from falling off, and brought her sword down once more.

The dragon roared in pain as a Rolling Thunder mix, and a Winter Storm mix exploded on it's head, and rear up once more. Buffy followed her mixes up by jumping into the air, and spinning around, bringing her blade across the dragon's face, and landed a kick before she landed on the ground, and jumped back avoiding the large paw as it cracked the ground where she'd been just moments before. Tara let a Holy spell fly just as Donald cast a Thundaga spell, causing Willow to jump from the dragon's back when she felt the very powerful Holy spell coming her way.

Glancing over, Willow quirked her eyebrows, and cocking her head to the right; it looked as if Tara had zoned out, and continued to cast Holy spell after Holy spell on the giant beast. Willow wasn't sure if she should try to get Tara out of the trance like state, or not. If she tried, would she get hit with a spell? Shaking her head, the gray mage decided to leave Tara alone, to her, she could tell Tara was fine, and raced forward once more.

Beast met the redhead halfway, and scooped her up before he tossed her back onto the dragon's back, as his claws left another set of wounds on the dragon's chest. Buffy, and Faith were standing side by side with Donald, and glowed before their three Thundaga spells combind with Tara's Holy spell, and shot forward. Willow got in another two hits with her blade, and looked up, "Shit!" she shouted, and jumped from the dragon's back, just as the spells exploded, causing a shockwave that passed over the group.

The dragon roared, and reared up as green flame engulfed its' body, causing it to burn as it hit the ground. Willow hurried toward Tara, and caught the white mage before she fell to the ground, and sighed, she could tell Tara was weak, but that was all.

"How ironic." Willow's twin said as she and Buffy's twin appeared standing next to the dragons' corpse.

"She was just another puppet after all." Buffy's twin snorted, "Although it was funny to see her thinking she wasn't."

"What?" Goofy raised his shield.

"The Heartless were using maleficent from the beginning." Willow's twin smirked, "She failed to notice the darkness in her heart eating away at her."

Buffy's twin stepped on the dragon's corpse causing it to disappear, "A fitting end for such a fool, don'tcha think?" she grinned, and both twin's disappeared.

The room began shaking, and the portal began to shrink, "Dammit! The portal!" Buffy shouted, grabbed Faith's hand and pulling her toward the closing portal. Willow picked Tara up, and followed Donald and Goofy, with Beast right behind her. The group made it through just in time to hear the portal close with a loud pop, and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Now were?" Donald asked glancing around the room, and raised his staff, "That wasn't there before."

Willow set Tara down, and slowly approached a new set of double doors, "No, it wasn't, but I'm guessing this is the way we go."

"Let's rest a few minutes first." Buffy leaned against the wall, and let her eyes settle on Tara; the white mage looked far worse than she had when they first appeared. "Tara, you alright?"

"Yeah, just- just weakened."

"It's no wonder. Damn! What the hell happened back there?" Faith asked crouching next to Tara.

Tara shook her head, "I don't know...it was like something just took over, and allowed me to cast like it was nothing."

"That's weird..." Willow trailed off, and shrugged, "Well, nothing we can do about it now, just rest for a few minutes, and then we'll check out what's in there." she said pointing to the door. Little did she know that when they entered the next room she and Buffy would be facing the worst thing they could think of. Their test.

Chapter Forty-Nine: Light Aginst Dark

After thirty minutes Tara had felt her strength return in full, and stood up with a sigh, she had a bad feeling about even looking into the next room, much less going in to it. Willow had her back turned to the group, and was staring at the floor, seemingly lost in thought. Even though Tara didn't know it; Willow also had the same feeling she did, as did Buffy, and Faith. It seemed like to Willow and Buffy they were about to step into a room that could be the death of them. To Tara and Faith, it was almost as if they knew there was nothing but heartache on the other side of those doors.

This must be it, Willow thought as she stared at the floor, This must be where Buffy and myself either die, or defeat whatever there is to. But what is it?... Dying? Ha! No way! I won't leave Tara alone in this friggin' place!

I guess Will has the same feeling as me. Whatever's on the other side of those doors could mean our death. No, don't think like that! I won't die in a place like this! I won't leave Faith!

Willow jumped, startled, when a hand softly squeezed her shoulder, turning around she saw Buffy give her a sad smile, and cock her head to the left. Glancing over she saw Tara watching her, and couldn't help but try and smile for her sake, and hopefully help her feel better, "You guys ready?" she asked softly and saw the others nod, "Okay then, stay on guard, we don't know what's behind these doors." Giving a slight nod, she and Buffy slowly pushed the doors open, and stepped inside the new room gripping their blades.

The room didn't have much to see, only four, five foot round pillars in a straight line on either side of a long blood-red carpet, and behind them on either wall was the princesses, "There's Alice!" Faith said her eyes growing wide.

"And Jasmine!" Tara said examining the tube the unconscious girls were in.

"What in hellfire is going on?!"

"Belle!" Beast roared running over to the tube with Belle, swipping his claws against the glass, and was thrown back by a powerful backlash of energy; he fell to the floor unconscious.

"Well, damn!" Buffy growled, "We can't touch the tubes and get them out!"

"Forget that, what about him." Willow shook her head and motioned to Beast.

Donald and Goofy stood on either side of the huge beast-like man, and pulled him to the side, "For now he'll be fine." Donald nodded, before his eyes went wide, "Look!" he pointed to the back of the room where the Heartless door stood.

"Come on!" Willow shouted as she and Buffy ran forward and up a small set of stairs, where they stopped in their tracks. Tara and Faith's twins were lying on the floor, unconscious, and looking for all the world like they were sleeping.

Tara and Faith ran ahead of Donald and Goofy, and both girls slammed into an invisible barrier at the top of the stairs, and fell back into the guys as they quickly approached, "What the fuck!" Faith shouted standing, and pulling Tara with her, "This can't be good." she said pounding on the invisible wall.

"Damn!" Tara cursed, causing Faith to look at her, if wasn't often that Tara cussed, but when she did, it was still a suprise, "And you're right, this isn't good." Tara began pounding on the barrier, all the while screaming as loud as she could, and still couldn't get her lover's, or Buffy's attention.

"Stand back!" Donald called, casting a Thundaga spell, and watched as the spell was absorbed into the barrier, "Now what?"

Neither Willow, or Buffy saw that the others had ran into a clear barrier, and couldn't get through, and they couldn't hear the screaming, nor the pounding the others were doing.

"Girls! Open your eyes!" Buffy kneeled next to Faith's twin and shook her, "Dammit! Open your eyes!"

"Come on, Tara, wake up!" Willow likewise was shaking Tara's twin, "Wake up!"

"It's no use, you know." Willow's twins' voice spoke as she and Buffy's twin appeared.

"Those girls have lost their hearts." Buffy's twin said sneering at Buffy, "They cannot wake."

Both girls stood and stared at their twins, and had to wonder what had happened to their apperance. Willow's twin had black streaks in her red hair, and her eyes were nothing more than pools of pitch-black. Buffy's twin was the same, her blonde hair had black streaks, but unlike Willow's twin, her eyes were iron-gray in color. How was it that their hair and eyes had changed that much since the last they'd seen them only less than an hour ago?

"What?" Buffy glanced from her twin to Faith's, and back again. Something wasn't right -and it wasn't the hair and eye color- it was a sence wrongness, and it was coming off her and Willow's twins in waves. "You..."

"You're not them!" Willow shouted having felt the same thing as Buffy, "You're not Willow, and Buffy."

"You're someone else!" Buffy unsheathed her blade, and stepped back.

The dark twins ignored Willow and Buffy's shouts and glanced at the Heartless door, "The Keyhole cannot be completed so as long as the last two princesses of heart still sleep." Willow's twin spoke as she and Buffy's twin floated in mid-air.

"And without their power, the Keyhole with remain incomplete." Buffy's twin smirked, "I do believe it's time they were awakened."

"Who the hell are you?" Willow growled stepping back and unsheathing her blade, "Let our twins go!'

Buffy nodded, "Yeah, give them back their hearts, or else!"

"Or else what, little girl?" Buffy's twin sneered as black energy surrounded her and Willow's twin, causing her eyes to go from iron-gray to purplish black in a split second, "You really think you can beat us?"

"If I let these bodies go, you must wake the princesses!" Willow's twin pointed her blade at the girls and watched as an energy wave sent them to their knees.

"Who are you?" Buffy gasped feeling the darkness cover her body.

"It is I, D'Hoffryn, the seeker of darkness!" Both dark twins shouted in unison.

"What? Both of you?" Willow stared at the twins like they were off their rockers, "Yeah, right."

"It's the truth."

"How so?" Buffy asked staring at her twin, and quirking her eyebrows.

"These fools wanted more power, the power to get their lovers hearts back, and when you defeated them, I saw my chance. They gladly took the gift I was offering, and became my vessels, my powerful vessels!" The twins once more spoke in unison, as they touched the necklace around their necks.

"I shall release the princesses!" Buffy's twin shouted rushing forward.

"Complete the Keyhole with your power!" Willow's twin shouted as she, too, rushed forward.

"Open the door, and lead us into everlasting darkness!" Both twins shouted as they brought their blades down, and were blocked when the girls brought their own up.

"Forget it!" Willow growled pushing her twin away, "There is no way you're gonna harm them!"

"I'll agree to that!" Buffy grunted pushing forward, and causing her twin to step back.

Willow's twin let out a battle cry as she lunged forward with her blade held high; Willow, seeing this, raised her blade up and met her twin's blade, causing sparks to fly as the blades met, and slid against the other. Willow pushed her twin back, bent at her knees, and spun around, knocking her twins' feet out from under her. Dark Willow, to avoid falling to the floor, side flipped, landed on her feet, and once again lunged forward with her blade in front of her.

The redhead twisted her body, and let her twin pass as she called up a Protect spell for her and Buffy. The spell covered both girls just as Buffy's twin brought her blade down, and shook as the dark Keyblade bounced off the shield. Willow smirked as her twin punched at her, and growled when her fist only met the shield.

Buffy's twin back flipped away from the Al Bhed, and giggled, "Protect won't help." she said casting a Dispel spell, and watched the Protect shields shatter like glass and disappear, before she shot forward.

Buffy blocked her twin's blade, and was thrown back when her twin's fist connected with her jaw sending her into the air. The dark twin jumped into the air, spun around, and kicked Buffy in the chest, knocking her to the floor, hard. A painful groan escaped Buffy's lips as she hit the floor with a loud thud, and hurriedly rolled to the right as her twin tried to crush her head with her foot. Growling, the Al Bhed stood, and threw a Firestorm mix, causing her twin to scream in pain as the flames licked over her body.

Willow jumped back, then side flipped as her twin brought her blade down, and then back up, before she jumped forward ready to thrust the blade through Willow's heart. Calling up another spell, Willow glowed for a moment before she let the Bio spell fly, and watched as a green slimy blob fell on to her twin, posioning her.

The twin fell back from the force of the spell, and smirked, "Not gonna help ya." she said, and flipped back, casting her own Esuna spell to cure the posion, as Willow ran forward, bringing her blade around.

Buffy's twin jumped over the flames, and hit Buffy, sending her back into the barrier, where she was quickly shocked as electricity danced over her body. The blonde let out a scream and jerked forward, bringing her blade around, and catching her twin on her upper arm. The twin bared her teeth, and brought her own blade down, cutting into Buffy's shoulder, and across her chest, before she jumped back to avoid the other girls' blade. The dark twin was taken by surprise when a vial broke at her feet, she only had time to look up at Buffy's grinning face before the Rolling Thunder mix washed over her body. The twin, once again, screamed in pain as electricity rolled over her body.

"Buffy!" Faith shouted when her lover hit the barrier and shook from the electricity, and shouted again as the twin's blade cut into Buffy's shoulder and chest, "Fuck! We gotta help them!"

"How?" Donald shouted angrily, "We can't get through the barrier!"

"Dammit!" Faith growled and went back to hitting the barrier with her blade, and could only hope she and Tara could break through.

Donald sighed, and went back to helping the girls try and break through, by casting his magic spells, but somehow he knew it wasn't going to work. Goofy held his shield out in front of him, and began to spin around, he hoped that the force of his hit would help.

Willow's twin blocked the blade from cutting her in half, but wasn't fast enough to stop Willow's fist from sending her into the air. The redhead grinned and cast a Waterga spell, and followed it up with a Thundaga spell for a stronger result. The dark twin's screams joined the dark Buffy's screames, as the electricity danced over her body, and her blade fell to the floor with a clang.

Dark Willow fell to the floor breathing hard, stood with a glare and raced forward with a burst of power. Willow had no time to block the blade as it cut through her flesh, and into her shoulder. Willow screamed, the pain from the blade burning through her body, and quickly touched her twin's stomach, as she cast Fira spell, sending her twin back with a burnt hole in her bodysuit, and her own hand feeling like it was on fire.

This can't be happening! Tara thought, franticly pounding on the barrier, and felt tears stinging her eyes when she saw Willow get stabbed, and then her hand turn to an angry red. Concentrating, the white mage called up a Curaga spell for both battling girls; Faith, Donald, and Goofy jumped when a enraged scream tore from Tara's throat when the spells bounced back.

Buffy ran forward, jumped into the air, and spun around bringing her leg out in a jumping roundhouse kick. Dark Buffy had been standing, breath coming in ragged gasps, when she saw Buffy's foot coming around. With a loud cry, the dark twin quickly raised her hand to block the foot, and staggered to the right from the force, dropping her dark Keyblade.

Spinning around, dark Buffy completed a spinning back kick, catching the side of Buffy's head, and knocking to the ground. Buffy flipped up, and could feel the blood running down the side of her face, before she growled, and lunged forward with her fists tightly closed. The twin had no time to stop the hit, and was knocked into the barrier by Tara and Faith's twins -when Buffy's fists hit her chest and stomach- where she slid to the ground, unconscious.

A Flare spell sent Willow flying back, causing her feet to slid against the floor, and stop only a few inches from the electricified barrier. Glancing up quickly; Willow hurriedly jumped to the side, avoiding a forward thrust kick from her twin, and ducked to avoid her twins' fist as she quickly spun around. Willow rose, only to be kicked in the head, and sent to the floor with blood running down her forehead, across the bridge of her nose, and under her right eye. Willow growled as she grabbed her twins' hand, and spun, throwing the twin across the floor, and into the barrier, where she screamed before she joined Buffy's twin on the floor, unconscious.

The only sound inside of the barrier was the sound of harsh breathing from Willow and Buffy, and the sound of blood dripping to the floor from their wounds. Outside the barrier was another story, both Tara and Faith were still pounding on the barrier, and screaming as loud as they could, and still couldn't catch their lover's attention. What was going on? The fighting had stopped, so shouldn't the barrier have came down?

Donald had long since became worn out from casting every spell he could think of, and still couldn't break through the invisible wall. When Goofy had tried using his shield, he had been thrown back five foot from the force of his blow, and was knocked unconscious, and was now just coming around.

"Will, the Keyhole." Buffy said softly, and fell to her knees. The pain from her wounds was finally catching up to her, and it was slowly becoming too much to handle.

Willow turned, raised her blade, and concentrated. Nothing happened, "Dammit! It won't work cause the Keyhole isn't finished!" Willow growed, and fell next to Buffy, the pain in her shoulder felt like white hot metal, and it was slowly spreading through her body, "I hurt." she whispered, and felt her stomach flip.

"Yeah, my body feels like it's on fire." Buffy said grabbing her head, "I think those dark Keyblades were posion."

Willow nodded, "What should we do with them?" she asked standing on weak legs and approaching her twin's blade.

"Well, for one, keep those two nutballs from getting them again." Buffy said standing, and reached down for her twin's dark blade.

As soon as Willow and Buffy held the dark Keyblades, they glanced around, "By the Fayth!" Willow's eyes grew wide.

"Holy Shiva..." Buffy gasped as her eyes widened, "This can't be good."

And you keep doing the whole cliff hangery thing... I'm starting to think that it has became a hobby; you could have chosen another one you know, there's plenty of others... :sigh anyway...

The whole battle in this chapter was great; I was picturing every action you described, and well, adding little bits of my own imagination. :D

Great chapter. More soon please. :bounce :bounce :bounce

Robotguru - Nope, when Buffy says "Holy Shiva" it's never good, and right now, nothing good can come from it. Sorry about the couple of days, but here's the update. :D And I'm sorry if I'm causing you to start saying things like Holy Ifrit, but I know how you feel, I've been saying things like that too.

Egnalos - I'm sorry about the cliffhangers, but it's just where I leave the chapters off, maybe I should start trying to find a better place to leave stop the chapters. But this won't be it. Glad you liked the battle, took me forever to get just right. :)

Pipsberg - Hey there, glad you liked the battle, and here's the update, hope ya enjoy. :)

Note: Once more with the cliffhanger. And I'm sorry it took a couple of days to get out, but, I re-wrote this chapter 4 times to get it the way I wanted it. I'm hoping the next chapter won't be as bad, so it should be out on Tuesday at the latest.

Chapter Fifty: First Test

Both Willow and Buffy stood frozen in place, and stared at the scene in front of them, their jaws on the floor, and eyes wide. After picking up the dark Keyblades, both girls had felt a strong magic flow over, and through their bodies, and now they were staring at something that was -to them- weird and very worriesom. Willow whirled around to look at the stairs where the others had been held back, Donald was bent over with his hands on his knees as if he had just ran a race, and was resting. Goofy had been frozen as he'd stepped forward, his right leg forward, and his left behind him, with his right hand rubbing his head. Willow quickly turned back around, and let her gaze rest in front of her.

Six figures floated a couple inches off the floor, and all six looked as if they were in a peaceful slumber. What was this? What was going on? Time had stopped outside the barrier freezing Donald and Goofy, but why weren't she and Buffy affected? Not to mention the persons floating in front of them.

"Wha-- Wasn't they... And weren't they... Huh?" Buffy blinked, "What in hellfire is going on!" she shouted running over to the figures, "Faith! Tare! Wake up!"

The Al Bhed didn't know how, or the reason why, but either way, Tara and Faith had somehow appeared inside the barrier and were now floating next to their twins, and her and Willow's twins. Why were they inside with them, and why were they asleep and floating? She didn't know, and could tell by the look at Willow's face that she didn't either, but it was giving her a bad feeling.

Willow had quickly followed, and had tried to pulled Tara into her arms, only to find that her lover wasn't moving, "Hellfire! C'mon Tare! Wake up!" she shouted in a frightened voice.

"That will not work." A voice spoke causing the girls to spin around, and face the transparent form of Mythe.

'What? Why won't they wake up?" Buffy asked relaxing as she stared into Mythe's soft blue gaze.

Willow glanced over her shoulder at her lover, before once again, letting her gaze set on Mythe, "Our test, right?"

"Yes, child, your test." Mythe gave the girls a sad smile as she stepped past them, and over to their twins, "These two are in so much pain, as are their lover's." she glanced at Tara and Faith's twins before, once more, turning her gaze to Willow and Buffy, "You must save them." she said and touched the twin's cheeks with her transparent hand, before moving over to her own daughter, and stared at her sadly as she rested her hand on Tara's cheek.

Save them? After what those two had done? Mythe was asking a lot of them, and neither girl thought it safe to allow them to roam free, even if they were able to wake the princesses, what would keep them from going back? Sure, they figured their lovers could try and stop it, but what if that weren't enough? What would happen then?

"You want us to save them? Okay, but how? And what happens if they turn back to the darkness?" Buffy asked then stared at her twin, "And you know, I'm not sure if I want that nutball twin of mine running around loose."

Willow nodded, "That goes for me, too. After all they've done, can we really trust them not to turn back to the darkness?"

Mythe turned, and fixed both girls with a hard stare, "You both would have done the same thing as they had," she said firmly, "Don't deny it, I know you would have."

Willow lowered her head, and looked to the side, "Yeah, but..." she didnt know how to finish it. Mythe was right, if something like that had happened to her Tara she would have done everything in her power to get her back, even if it meant allowing the darkness to take over her body.

Buffy, too, had her head down, but had kept her narrowed gaze on her twin, "We wouldn't have tried to kill our twins!" she shouted tightening her grip around the hilt of the blade, turning her knuckles white, "We would not have done that!" Yes, she, like Willow, would have done everything she could have to save both girls, but she hated fighting someone who was just like her.

"You would have done what needed to be done to get your girls back. Even if it meant you had to fight your twins." Mythe said causing both girls to look at her, "Now, you must do what they cannot, you must save them, and wake their lovers."

"But how?" Willow asked with a sigh, "How are we suppose to know how to save them from the darkness? We've never even seen something like that, it's almost like black magic, but worse!"

"Yeah, and what about the princesses? How do we know how to wake them? Our twins kept saying we knew how, but all they would've had to do was look inside their own hearts to find the way."

"They could not see past the darkness in their bodies, that is why they couldn't find the path to awaken their lovers. And now, it is too late for them to find it."

"What?" Willow and Buffy shouted, "What's that mean?" Willow stared at her mother-in-law.

"Just what I said, it is too late for them to find it, now."

Buffy shook her head, "Okay, whatever, but I have two questions that I think are need to know. One, how do we save our twins from the darkness? And two, how are we suppose to wake the princesses?"

"You both hold the key to waking the sleeping princesses."

"Huh? What are you talking about?" Willow didn't understand, but by the look on Buffy's face it was clear she did, "What?"

"These." Buffy raised the dark blade up causing Willow to step back and shake her head.

"No, no way!" Willow swirled toward the ex-summoner, "You want us to use these? No! It's too dangerous!"

"Those blades hold the power to open a person's heart, whether they are used for good or evil is up to the master, and as of now, you both are the new masters of those blades."

Buffy fell to her knees, her body was hurting, and standing there wasn't helping, "Great, so what, we stab the princesses?" she asked and shook her head franticly, "I won't do it! I wouldn't hurt Faith, so what makes you think I'm going to bring harm to her twin?"

"Same here, I won't hurt Tara's twin either, so you can just forget it." Mythe stopped Willow from throwing the blade to the floor.

"Look, neither of you are thinking!" Mythe near shouted, causing both girls to blink, "If they had their hearts the Keyhole leading to the darkness would be open!"

"Great, so they really don't have their hearts, so what? Who has them?"

"You must choose whose hearts you open with those Keyblades, but choose wisely, for if you pick the wrong ones, they will die." Mythe stared past Willow as if she weren't there, "This is your test." she said, and could only hope they chose the correct hearts, and could pass the final test, if not, all was lost.

"Dammit! We're still gonna have to stab someone!" Buffy growled not liking the idea one bit, "I hate this."

Willow nodded, she didn't like it either, "But how are we suppose to know?"

"I am truly sorry, but you must figure it out for yourselves."

"Great." Willow moaned, her body felt like it was burning from the inside out, and now this, "What about them? What happens when they wake up?"

Mythe glanced over her shoulder and sighed, "Again, you must figure that out for yourselves. As for what happens, I would hope they won't have any darkness in them. Remember, their dark power was given to them, they may have taken it of their own free will, but it was given nonetheless, and it can be taken away just the same."

"And you won't tell us how will you?" Buffy asked and saw Mythe shake her head, "Lovely."

"I must leave now, but know this, when you release your twins from the darkness, the barrier will fall." Mythe bowed, and vanished, allowing time to resume once again.

"Well?" Buffy glanced from the twins to her lover and Tara, and finally to Willow, "What are we gonna do?"

"Dunno, but I'm worried about stabbing someone, and it being the wrong someone." Willow stood next to her twin, and cocked her head to the right, "There's something out of place on my twin."

Buffy stepped up to her twin and nodded as she let her eyes roam over her twins body, "I know, but I don't know what it is...besides the darkness' taint on their bodies."

"Wait a minute..." Willow trailed off staring at the necklace, "I don't remember them having this," she said and touched the chain, "Whoa!" the redhead fell back.

"What?" Buffy quickly closed the small distance between her and Willow, and held her hand out to help the redhead up, "What is it?"

Willow stared at the small necklace around her twin's neck, "The necklace, it's the necklace with the power of darkness in it."

"Is that what we have to do, destroy them?"

"I think it is," Willow nodded, and once again stepped next to her twin, "But be careful, they have a powerful kick to them." she said with her hand hovering over her twin's chest where the necklace rested against her breast, and felt the darkness calling to her black magic. Willow closed her eyes, she had come too far to let it win now.

"Got it," Buffy said, and in one quick motion grabbed the chain, and pulled the necklace from her twin's neck, "Now what?" she asked feeling lightheaded, as the room began to spin. The darkness was trying to enter her body, and the Al Bhed was using what was left of her strength to fight it off.

"Drop it!" Willow said, dropping hers, and crushed the pendant with the heel of her shoe, at the same time as Buffy.

Both girls were pushed back as the darkness rose from their twin's bodies, and swirled around in a circle as it rose up to, and through the ceiling. The barrier keeping Donald and Goofy out shattered, sounding like someone had dropped a tray fulls of glasses, but ten times worse. Willow and Buffy covered their ears to block the sound out, and caught site of the guys doing the same, before they hurried over to the girls, and stared at the others.

"What is going on?" Donald blinked, he couldn't figure out how Tara and Faith had gotten inside, nor why they were floating.

"Just rest, me n' Will has something to figure out." Buffy sighed, and could feel her body getting weaker, what ever those dark blades had on them was slowly killing her, she thought.

Donald rolled his eyes, he could tell the two girls were keeping something from them, again, but knew it was most likely something he couldn't help with. Grabbing Goofy, he nodded, "All right, we'll be over here." he said and pulled Goofy toward the back of the small room, and began studying the Heartless door.

"Well..." Willow squeezed her eyes shut against the pounding in her head, "I think we need to hurry."

"Yeah," Buffy nodded, and turned to stare at her lover. If the princesses didn't have their own hearts, and their own twins had lost site of the path to find them, then how could she and Willow save their lover's twins?

Willow lowered her eyes to the floor, and glanced at Buffy, seeing the Al Bhed staring to the side, seemed like she had no idea on where to start either. Why was this their test? Why couldn't it have been fighting off the darkness? That would have been easier, but no, it had to be choosing whose hearts to open.

"Donald," Goofy whispered tapping the duck on his shoulder, "Look at them."

Donald turned from the door, and shook his head. Willow's pale skin was even paler, and she was starting to look like a ghost, even Buffy's tanned skin was just as pale as Willow's, "I know, Goofy, I know. But what can we do?"

Goofy shrugged, he didn't know what was wrong with the girls, but they really should take care of those wounds, "Can you heal them?"

"Yeah, I should have done that the first thing after the barrier came down." Donald concentrated, and cast a Cure spell on the girls.

Willow and Buffy had been lost in thought when the Cure spell washed over their bodies, causing the girls to raise their heads, close their eyes, and let the warmth cover them. The Cure spell would only heal their wounds, but if there were any posion in their bodies, it wouldn't even touch it. But either way, no matter how hot their bodies felt, the warmth still felt good. A single thought caused Buffy's eyes shoot open a moment after Willow's, turning her head quickly the Al Bhed met the redhead's gaze, and saw the same look on her face. That was it, of course why hadn't they seen it before?

Mythe had said it herself, the dark twins had lost site of the path, they couldn't find it, and now it was too late. The warmth they had felt, the double fast beating of their hearts, and even Tara going into a trance when they fought Maleficent. Her twin had helped her, and then had returned to her hiding spot, in Willow's own heart. Since they were the twins of the princesses lovers, they had decided to use them to hide from the darkness, and now that Willow and Buffy had figured it out, they could feel something telling them they were correct. And it could only be two people, Princess Tara, and Princess Faith. And now since the darkness wasn't after them at the moment, they wanted to return to their bodies, and only Willow and Buffy could help.

"Well, really, if we're wrong, we'll die." Buffy stated glancing from the blade, to the twins, to Faith, and to Willow. The redhead had done the same, and gave a small smile to Buffy.

"I know we're not wrong." she said flipping the blade into the air, and catching it as it came down, "You know what to do," Willow gripped the blunt side of the blade and saw Buffy nod.

"Yeah," Buffy grinned turning the blade around to face her chest.

Goofy had gabbed Donald's shoulder, and spun him around, causing the duck to quack angrily, his quacking came to a complete stop, and his eyes grew wide when he saw what Willow and Buffy were doing, "What are you doing?" he shouted running forward.

"Wait!" Goofy hollered, following the duck, "No!" both guys shouted as the girls thrust the dark blades into their chest, and piercing their hearts.

Willow and Buffy floated into the air as their bodies lit up, and an energy wave sent the guys flying back against the Heartless door. The form of a heart escaped from each girls' chest, and quickly flew into the princesses chest, as Willow and Buffy were lowered to the ground. The other princesses hearts glowed, and shot beams toward the door, completing the Keyhole, and allowing the door to the darkness to be opened. Only the power of their pure hearts kept the darkness at bay, and not allowing it to over run the world.

Tara and Faith opened their eyes at the same moment as the four twins, and were lowered to the ground, where they saw Willow and Buffy being pulled down into a portal of pure darkness.

"No!" Tara and Faith shouted lunging forward with their hands out, and just missed their lover's hands as they were pulled completely under. A primal scream ripped through both girls throats as the portal closed. Willow and Buffy were gone, and there was no visible way of getting them back.
