Here she is again, sitting on her place at biology staring at her textbook that’s full of information that she needed to learn for her test, but all Tara Maclay saw was just silly letters that made so sense to her. She looked at her right and saw Faith, her best friend was sitting at her chair, feet’s up on the table playing with her yellow pencil, looking stupid like hell.

They where friends sins they were born, there mothers where very close friends like them.

They did everything together, going to the mall, hanging out at the Bronze, going skateboarding on the halve pipe in Tara’s backyard … yeah they were close friends.



Tara snapped to reality when she heard the teacher came in the class with a redheaded girl.

“ lady’s and gentleman’s, I’d like you to meet our new student from L.A .. uhm what was your name miss? “ the teacher asked the girl “ it’s Willow Rosenberg sir “ the shy girl said with a hind of nervous in her voice. “ well miss Rosenberg, welcome to Sunnydale High “

Tara looked at the girl and turned to Faith, who was looking back at her with a smirk on her face, Tara turned back to Willow and looked at the beautiful curves that was hidden under a pair of jeans and a black blouse. Faith saw Tara drooling at the sigh of the new student and picked a paper and wrote : “ What’s with the drooling Tar? Liking the new girl already? “

She placed the note on Tara’s table and slapped on Tara’s arm.

“ Auwie, what the he …” she wanted to say but was stopped when she saw the smirk on Faith’s face. Faith struggled her shoulder and smiled brightly. Tara shook her head and looked down at her table and saw Faith’s note. She opened it and read it and smiled at the lame question on the paper. She picked up her pen and wrote back : “ I dunno what you’re talking about! “ she passed the note back at her friend and smiled at Faith who Smirked at her answer on the paper.



“ well, miss Rosenberg. Why don’t we get you a seat? let’s see, you can sit with … uhm … Tara Maclay “ the teacher said to Willow friendly. *ooh mother, she? Next to me? Must be my lucky day or something!* Tara said to herself in her head while smiling a huge smile on her face. Willow didn’t know where to go cause she didn’t know who Tara was, so she stood there in front of the class looking left and right, finally after a minute she had the courage to asked the teacher who Tara was. “ sir, uhm who is Tara Maclay? “ “ ow, dear forgive me, Tara is the girl there “ with that he point out to Tara. Tara waved a little and Willow walked to her new seat next to Tara. Willow sat next to Tara and smiled a shy smile to the blonde, and Tara of course smiled sweetly back. Tara didn’t know what was happening to her, she was nervous like hell, she never felt this way before, so shy and warm and the thought that she have never felt this way before was making her more nervous then she was.

That smile from Willow made her knees go weak, so she was glad she was sitting and not standing cause she’d fall over when she was.

“ so uhm, you’re from L.A huh? “ Tara asked, trying to be cool. The redhead looked at her and said “ yeah, I am “ “ uhm .. cool, so uhm you look pretty “ Tara said lamely * you look pretty? Whoa Maclay rude much?* again Willow looked at Tara, this time she blushed “ uhm thank you, I think … “ “ sorry I just … sorry I didn’t mean to be so rude “ Tara said while ducking her head down to study her hands. *what the hell is wrong with me?* “ it’s okay, I was uhm surprised that’s all and I don’t hear people call me pretty often so. Again thank you “ Willow said with the cutes smile ever, Tara thought she was going to faint when she it. “ w-well uhm … y-your welcome t-then … “ Tara stuttered shyly. *and now am stuttering to?! Good god!!* she asked herself in her head. Willow smiled and start writing notes on the blackboard that the teacher had been writing 15 minute ago. Tara started to write down notes to, it’s strange cause she never wrote down notes before, she was always busy doing nothing in a biology class. And now? Now she was writing down things that she doesn’t understand of. Willow smiled to herself at the sigh of Tara trying to impress her, she knew that Tara was not a student that worked hard like she does now, she heard that all of that from principal Snyder. He was a creepy man, but still, he was nice. Again she looked at Tara who was in trouble with something that she doesn’t understand. “ shall I help you with that? “ she asked kindly at the blonde skater. “ uhm, yeah sure I don’t understand the thing with the fish thing and that thing at the thing that’s all … uhm actually, I really don’t know what to do.. “ Tara told the redhead embarrassed like hell. “ it’s okay, I don’t know everything to, but I’ll help you out with this “ Willow said. Tara smiled a thank you to Willow and Willow started to explain thing to Tara.

Faith watched the scene next to her and smiled to herself. *maybe it might be a good year this year* she thought.

Willow sat in the sun on the grass, eating her lunch. She looked around the school and saw people laughing and having fun with each other.

She was happy for some reason, maybe it’s because Tara, she thought.

She always liked girls. But she was always to shy to talk to one. But with Tara everything seems to be normal, no stuttering no awkwardness, only Tara stuttered sometimes, but she didn’t care.

They were having a really good time at the biology class today, she got to know Tara a little bit better. Tara was not so bad as Snyder said. She was sweet and kind, and very shy sometimes. Snyder warned her for Tara, he said she should watch out for her and Faith, saying that they were THE 2 bad girls at the school.

Fist she believed it, but when she got to know Tara better, she realised she was wrong. She didn’t know anything about Faith though, Tara did introduced her to Faith, they talked little but that was it.



“ Hey eating lunch by yourself I see? Fancy a company? “ Willow looked up and saw Tara standing in front of her. Suddenly it was as if she woke up from her daydream. What a coincidence this is, she thought by herself. She felt a little weird before, when thinking of Tara and now she’s here, wanting to have lunch with her. Who would have thought that! Willow felt extremely happy. “ sure, why not “ she said with a big grin on her face. She was happy to see the blonde again. Tara sat down next to Willow, and started to open her brown lunch bag that she had in her hands. “ So do you like it here in sunnydale high?“ Tara asked while looking at her sandwich. “ Yeah, I do … there are some really nice people here, but I haven’t made any friends yet though, “ the redhead said a bit sadly. “What do you mean? You’ve got me as your friend?“ Tara said a bit to loud. Willow felt all jumpy inside. She got Tara as her friend? Did the girl really say that? WOW! She didn’t know for sure. It was the thing Snyder said, that was giving her doubts about all this. What was it with the bad-girl-thing he was talking about? “ Uhm really? “ the redhead asked feeling suddenly very shy. Why did she ask that? She suddenly felt very vulnerable because of what she just said to Tara... Willow Rosenberg, not having any friends. Why did she said that!

Willow was pleased to hear Tara’s voice again and started to calm down a little

“Yeah sure why not? I mean you’re funny and very nice and stuff “ the blonde said blushing as she did so. Willow didn’t know what to say so she just smiled at the cute blonde. The blonde smiled back and continued to eat her lunch and so did Willow. Suddenly Tara asked: “So, do a pretty gal like you have a boyfriend? Or something? “

Willow was all feeling overwhelmed by her question and the thing she said. Tara thought I’m pretty? Jeez what’s with her eyes. Me all freckled and redhaired Willow. Nothing to call pretty that’s for sure. How on earth was she going to handle this. She barely know the girl, she couldn’t just say she’s not so much into boys... Tara would instantly walk away. Willow’s mind started to babble.



“Uhm no, not really“, Willow said feeling uncomfortable.

“Why not? I bet the guys are lining up for you? “ Tara said a bit surprised that Willow didn’t have a boyfriend, but on the other hand, she was glad cause it mean that she could have a change with Willow.

Willow was turning even redder then she did before. What should she tell this girl. Willow had noticed a grin on Tara’s face when she said she didn’t have a boyfriend. It was almost as if Tara was happy Willow hadn’t.

Willow needed to find out if she could trust this girl. She decided she could only find out if she could trust Tara by telling her the truth. Friends had left her before when they found out about the gay side of Willow. So Willow thought that before this friendship became any bigger, she needed to tell Tara the truth about herself. If the girl was freaking out, she would know.

Willow looked at the ground to insecure to tell it to Tara in her face.

“Well, let’s just say that I don’t really like boys “ Willow said honest.

“You don’t? “ Tara almost shouted. It felt like a big ball of relieve exploded inside her. The girl did like girls! The most pretty girl she has ever seen before likes girls, just like her! She noticed the way she was talking. She was almost shouting because of her relieve. She realised this wasn’t making things better. Willow must think she is freaked.

Willow collapsed at Tara’s words. There you go Willow, great job, you freaked out the girl. How can you be so stupid! All her insecurities came out. She wanted to know why Tara asked. Of course tomorrow the whole school will know all about her. She needed to ask Tara why she asked that.

“No, not really…why did ya asked? “ Willow asked. She was still looking down.

“U..u..hm .. yeah w..w..well, just w..w..ondering you know .. cause uhm w..w..ell… “ the blonde said feeling more then a bit nervous. *just ask her, it’s not like it’s the first time you asked a girl out?!*

“You what? “ the redhead asked curious. Why was Tara stuttering again? Was she really that freaked? Willow knew the girl wasn’t freaked. She could tell by the blush on Tara’s face that was growing bigger.

“Uhm w..w..w..ell, I w..w..was wondering, well if we... if I... if you’d...like to go out w..w..with me tomorrow night to the bronze? “ Tara asked the redhead while keeping her head down. She was so ashamed she couldn’t get the words out. What’s with that constant stuttering when Willow is around?

Willow’s eyes widened. The girl asked her out. She really did. She likes me. I like her! She felt extremely seductive.

“Are you asking me out miss Maclay? “ the redhead smirked while asking the question.

“Well, that’s for you to decide, if you want it to be a date then it’s a date but if you don’t then we’ll go like friends. “ Tara said a bit shy. Every nerve in her system was hoping the girl would say yes. She couldn’t look at Willow, still staring at the grass beneath her.



Willow noticed the uncomfortable state Tara was in. It was like as if she could feel her emotions. She decided the game was off now before Tara was collapsing.

“I’d love to go out with you tomorrow night “ Willow said smiling.

“Wow! Did she just said yes? Yes, she said yes!! Woohoo!”

Tara thought in her head, she was so happy Willow said yes, that she almost stood up to do the happy snoopy dance!

“W-well t-that’s great, I’ll pick you up at … say uhm … 8 o’clock? “ Tara stuttered, she tried to ignore it but the stutter keep bugging her, constantly when she was around Willow.

“ sure, 8 is good … “ Willow said feeling extremely happy. She knew that Tara was into her but and to be honest, she was into Tara to… she never thought she would meet someone like Tara, sure Tara looked a bit rough and wild, but when you get to know her, you’ll know better. All the looking rough is a cover for her shy nature. She now knew she could trust Tara.

“ well okay, it’s on … I have to go looking for Faith now. We have to go to history and Faith really needs to be there or she’ll be .. uhm … history “ Tara joked.



It took Willow a while before getting the lame joke Tara made but when she get it she started to giggle.

“Well, uhm .. go get Faith then, we don’t want her to be history now don’t we? “ the redhead said.

“Yeah, I’ll talk to you later, if not then I’ll your call your house number that you gave me. Bye Willow!“, the blond said kindly.

“Bye Tara!“ With that Willow watched Tara walking away from her to get Faith, who came trough the twin doors of the school, obviously looking for Tara.

She felt down on her back into the soft grass. She was a happy girl right now, she had a real date with Tara tomorrow. She could trust Tara. Tara liked her. She just couldn’t believe it. How could she ever have thought Tara was fooling around with her, just to be miss populair.

There were some students walking by, which reminded Willow, she really needed to go to class. She stood up and threw the leftovers from her lunch in the trash can. She begun walking inside the school, to go to her computer class, she should be nervous for her first computer class but all she was thinking about was, what she was going to wear tomorrow at the date ….

They were walking from there last class to there locker, Faith and Tara always do that when the day was over for school. Faith was looking at Tara who was, since the lunch break very happy and bouncy.

“ what’s up with the giddy thing you’ve got since lunch break Maclay? “ Faith decided to ask the blonde. Tara looked at her and smiled brightly and said : “ well, uhm I asked Willow out, and she said yes. We’re going to the Bronze tomorrow night. “ Tara smiled the whole time saying it, Faith was surprised cause after all it was the first day the blonde met Willow.

“ uhm, I don’t want to be rude or something, Tar .. but you barely know her?! “ the brunette said while putting her books in her locker.

“ yeah I know … I dunno how to explain the feeling I have for this girl, but all I know is that I like her, a lot. “ Tara said wondering why Faith asked her the question.

“ why did ya asked anyway? “ Tara said again, but now she was also putting her books en other thing in her locker. “ well, it’s just you know … you never had a relationship that lasted for 2 days.” Faith said, hoping that Tara didn’t get mad head on her for saying that, the truth was … Tara really didn’t have a relationship that lasted for 2 days. She was just concerned that’s why. “ well I know I used to fool around before, but really I feel different this time, every time I’m near her, I start to stutter and act stupid, I really dunno were the feelings are coming from. “ Tara said to her best friend, telling her the naked truth. “ well if I’m hearing you like this, looks like you’ve the the big ‘L’ going on buddy! “ Faith said to the blonde feeling happy for her friend. But on the other hand, she was worried to, cause this was not the Tara seh knew. Faith has noticed the way the blonde been acting lately, and she could tell she’d change. Tara used to be a wild girl who caused trouble once in a while, she didn’t give a damn about anything. It was because of her mother’s dead, the brunette thought. “ well maybe, I dunno know. All I know is that I have a date with a beautiful redhead tomorrow. “ Tara said feeling giddy again.

“ that reminded me .. what the hell am I going to wear?? “ the blonde said again, panicking like she was a chicken at a slaughter house. “ relax, blondie… we’ll pick something out when we are at your home. Don’t sweat it okay? “ Faith said, with a hind of laughter in her voice. “ cool, okay … so wanna stay for dinner? Dad wont mind, he’s eating dinner at his work, so am in my lonesome. “ the blonde asked, hoping that Faith said yes, cause she didn’t want to spent the rest of her day alone in her house.

“ sure, why not … I have to call mom though, she’ll be piss if I didn’t. “ the brunette said with a frown, she really didn’t like her mom being mad or upset with her.

“ cool, you can call at my place, am sure your mom wont mind! “ Tara said to her with a smile. With that the two friends started to walk to Tara’s house, which is just 2 blocks from school.

Willow walked into her house and entered the kitchen. She saw a note on the fridge, and started to read it, on the note stood :

“ Hello honey, had a nice day at school? Well your dad and I have to go to Brazil for a couple of days, there’s money in the cookie jar and have fun, we’ll be back on Thursday.



Love, mom and dad. “



When the redhead was finished reading the note, she stepped to the cookie jar and grabbed 300 dollar from it. wow that’s a lot of money she thought. She was used from her parents to be away in times like this. They were always gone on some trip because of their jobs.

Willow opened the fridge and pulled out a bottle of water, and went upstairs to look at her wardrobe, she had to look nice for her date tomorrow. She never have been to a date before and she was really nervous. The girl started to pull out outfits for the date.

*what am I going to wear? All my cloths are jeans and bloused and sweatshirts and, what the hell am I going to wear* the redhead begun to panic.

“What am I going to do …. Think, Willow, think … “ the redhead commended herself.

“I can’t think on a empty stomach, wait, let’s order pizza fist and then think about what I’m going to wear at my date … yeah let’s do that. “ willow babbled in her head and went to the phone and dialled the number to order her cheese pizza.

When she did that she was looking around her room … it was a mess, clothes everywhere… on the bed, on the floor…. She started to clean up a bit, until she heard the door bell ring. She walked downstairs, opened the door and paid for her pizza, and goes back inside to eat. Suddenly her door bell rings again. She walked to the door feeling frustrated because she was hungry and wanted to eat her nice cheese pizza.

She finally reached the door and opened it, and came face in face with someone she missed the whole summer… “ hey Willow, how are ya?? “ the girl in front of Willow said, smiling as she did so …

I've just read all the parts so far and they're really good. Faith and Tara being friends is a really intriguing idea and you've got a great balance between their personalities. Liking the Willow babbling, and cheese pizza... . Looking forward to see who was at the door. My guess is that it was Buffy.

“ Faith, HELP! I can’t find anything to wear!! “ Tara said to her friend, who was walking in circles around her room. The room was a mess, clothes everywhere, on the bed, the floor..

“ Tara!, chill out! you look fine in that outfit! What’s wrong with that? “ Faith said, pointing to the clothes Tara whore.

Tara was wearing a pair of hipsters and a nice top and a black jacket on it.

“ well, just that.. I don’t wanna look cute .. or skanky, I just wanna look in between that!” the blonde said, ready to change her outfit again.

“ Tara Jane Maclay, if you’re changing your outfit again, I’ll kick your white ass!!! “ Faith said, feeling frustrated because this was the 7th time that Tara wanted to change her outfit in this hour. “ you don’t look cute or skanky, you look just like you, and that’s cool!! “ she said again, almost laughing at the face the blonde made.

“ Are you sure? Cause I don’t wanna look like a .. “ Tara said before Faith cut her off.

“ You look fine, trust me!!? “ Faith said, in fact Tara did look good in the hipsters, top and jacket. Tara calmed down a bit and sat down next to Faith on her bed.

“ I don’t want to scare her off “ she said with a tiny voice, she was really into this girl and she wanted this to work out.

“ You won’t scare her off Tar, you look fine, nothing can break this night. I’ll be there and I’ll watch over you! So don’t worry okay? “ the brunette said to her, while giving her a little squeeze in her arm to show comfort. Tara smiled and pulled Faith in a hug.

“ I’m so thankful that you’re my friend, thank you for being here tonight. “ Tara said, feeling more relax than a couple of minutes ago.

“ No thanks, you know I’ll always be there for you, but now you have to go and get to your date young lady, it’s almost 8. “ Faith said, looking at her watch.

“ Yeah, I’ll see you in the bronze then? “ the blonde said, and stood up to leave the room, Faith did the same. “ Yeah, go I’ll clean this mess here and you’ll see me there. “ faith said, and started to clean up the clothes on the bed and floor.

“ You know, you really don’t have to do that?! “ Tara said, but Faith looked at her with a go-now look. “ okay, okay, see you later.. “ with that the blonde left and walked to Willow’s house.

“ I am so thank full you’re here, I missed you all summer!! “ she said to the blonde on her bed. “ Yeah well, I’m really sorry, but I tried to call you but nobody picked up, but anyway you look great Will! “ the tiny blonde said to her best friend.

She missed Willow whole summer, she knew Willow from L.A but last year she moved to Sunnydale for her moms job. And now Willow has been moving to Sunnydale to.

“ Really? You think it’s not to skanky? “ Willow asked Buffy, with an unsure face.

“ You look fine. Your date will love it, so who is it? “ Buffy asked curiously.

“ Well..” the redhead begin “ I met this girl yesterday at school, at biology and she kinda talked and then at lunch she asked me out. She’s so sweet and kind and .. “ Willow said, forgetting to breath. “ Will, breath!! You know I hear everything about her but her name?! “ Buffy said, laughing at the redhead. She really missed de famous babble.

“ Sorry, just, I like her so much and all “ she said while smiling. “ Her name is Tara Maclay. “ the redhead said again feeling giddy from just saying the girls name.

Buffy was shocked, she knew Tara Maclay!! The girl used to pick on her last year.

“ Tara WHAT?? “ Buffy said feeling a bit angry. “ Buffy what’s wrong?? “ the redhead asked her best friend who was feeling a bit more then just angry.

“ Tara Macly? The Tara Maclay that used to pick on me last year?? “ Buffy almost shouted. “ and… and.. Willow what the hell?? “ the blonde stood up and walked to Willow and looked at her with a mad face. “ Buffy? Wha… i.. Tara used to pick on you??? “ Willow asked, feeling dizzy because of what she’s hearing here.

“ Yes, that girl and her little friend always make fun of me and stuff, I can’t believe you are going out with her. “ Buffy said still feeling angry.

“ Buffy, I .. I didn’t know that she was mean to you and .. I heard something from Snyder but I … “ before the redhead could explain the situation to Buffy, she heard her door bell rings and walked downstairs and opened the door. She knew who was at the door and she wanted a talk with that someone.



“ Hey Willow, ready for the date?? “ Tara said when the door opens and Willow was on the other side of it. She smiled when she saw the redhead in her lovely skirt and kitty shirt. But when she saw the face the redhead wore she quickly stopped smiling.



“ Willow is something wrong? “ the tall blonde asked, worried.

“ Yeah something’s definitely wrong missy! “ Willow said to Tara, with her resolve face on. “ Oh, okay, talk to me, you’re scaring me now ..” the blond said again, feeling really nervous she did something wrong…

Willow was supposed to be mad at Tara, but she really couldn’t, the girl looked really lovely in her outfit she thought. Not now Willow, you were mad remember?? She said to herself, but when she hear the foot steps next to her she turned around.

It was Buffy, a really angry looking Buffy. She was nervous now, because Buffy’s worst nightmare was at the other side of her door, and Buffy was almost reaching to her side now.

“ Tara, I don’t think I can’t go with you on a date tonight. “ she finally said to the tall blond. She didn’t want to say that because she DID wanted to go out with Tara tonight, but she did it because she needed to know what Tara really was.

Was the girl cute, sweet and kind like she is now, or is she just used them and lose them chick.

“ What?? Why not?? “ Tara asked the redhead, feeling that something bad was up.

Before the redhead could answer to her, she heard a familiar voice saying : “ Why does she want to go with a pain like you to a date? “ the familiar voice said, with a dislike tone. Tara looked to Willow’s right and saw …. “ Buffy Summers??!! “ ….
