Haven't seen a daily thread so i decided to start one. :-)

Recently in English Literature we've been getting into a lot of deep stuff involving the meaning of life and it got me thinking. Is there such a thing as Destiny and what exactly is the meaning of life, the universe and everything? Is there a meaning?

This then mad eme wonder, how does Destiny work in a show like Buffy? Is destiny real; we've sene Huffy thwart prophecys a dozen times afterall.

Anyway, my head now hurts so i'll leave us with a W/T question. If you were to ask them "What's the meaning of life?" what do you think they'd reply?

I'm affraid I'm gonna have to think about this a bit longer before I can give an answer to that.

What's the meaning of life? There's a light question. How would Willow and Tara answer ... I don't know. My answer is always "to be happy". I think that you should do whatever you want (within reason, nothing that harms people, please), if it makes you happy. A happy person/world is a healthy person/world. And sometimes you have to do things that aren't that great for a little while so that you can subsequently do something else that will give you enough happiness to make up for whatever it was you did that didn't make you happy. I'd like to think that Tara and Willow would answer something along those lines. I guess that's not a great answer to the whole "meaning of life" question, but thinking about that to much makes my brain hurt. Maybe I'll have some more thoughts later on.

Ohh I like that idea Zero. The meaning of life is ice cream, sweet dreams and jelly beans!! Lol, sorry it's getting late here and the stress of the week must be getting to me I think Willow and Tara would answer that the meaning of life is just 'love'. Love is all that matters in the end....oh and of course the ice cream

I think that we all do have a destiny. But we have to work to get to this one. I think that if we wait patiently. Nothing will happen.

As for the meaning of life. The only thing that i know is that love and being happy is the only thing that really matters and that i don't really care about the rest.

what if the meaning of life was trying to do our best in order to get better.
Personnally I think we're all here in order to learn about things...
It seems to me that I learn at least a new thing everyday, and that makes life interesting...
And of course it's much more interesting if you have the chance to have found someone you can share your life and the things you've learned with...

Hey Goul and Ange, I'm french as well (Montreal, Canada, though... not the "real" kind of french)

The meaning of life? Oh. There is none to begin with. You make one as you go, and as you age, that meaning becomes more and more definite. So, my meaning of life? Cigarettes, strong lukewarm coffee, friends, integrity, freedom, love, nature and Art.

I think Tara would go with something very simple yet truthful like "be happy, learn and thrive". Willow has changed so much recently, I wouldn't know... I'm not used enough to this new Willow to be able to ponder her thoughts.

It's March 20th! Spring equinox! A new beginning, Kittens. Make the best of it.

Hey Goul, I'm French (Canadian) by association. My last name is Bourgeois. But I barely speak the language myself. My gf is French (it's her first language) but she's from Ottawa. My mom's side of the family came from Verteuil, France (their last name is de Verteuil). That's about as French as I get. Pretty good for a gal in southern Ontario though.

The meaning of life? It's funny because I was going to answer ice cream but y'all beat me to it. Ice cream is great stuff though, especially in some form of smutty usage. I had ice cream on Monday and managed to glob some all over my coat and pants while sitting in the mall. But that's okay because it was worth it. Ice cream always makes me happy and it's fun to share with others. Once again, refer to the smutty usage of...

Hmm... Well, the hopeless romantic in me hopes that Willow and Tara would say each other--and maybe its true, but I doubt it.

I would probably say the meaning of life is inside jokes. Because they're so much funnier than any other kind.
Although ice cream is a real contender too.

And destiny in real life has yet to play a part in mine, and I believe its considered a big joke on buffy--its one of the only mythological/spirtiual type things that they haven't taken for truth.

Hmmm...this just brought to mind that ever so hilarious Monty Python movie "The Meaning of Life".

Heh.....IMHO the meaning of life is a giant tub filled with hot water and bubble bath, a cuppa Earl Grey with lots of sugar, and Enya playing constantly....oh wait a minute...heh....me fantasizing again.

I guess W/T would like life without demons, Sunnydale wierdness, vamps of any sort and Anya's constant discussion about her and Xander having sex. Talk about peace and quiet
