In keeping with the Eurovision theme - the 1993 winner, In Your Eyes by Niamh Kavanagh.
Showing no emotion, my feelings locked inside I made myself an island, trying to take my heart and hide I built a wall around me, afraid of letting go But suddenly an open door I never saw before
In your eyes (Your eyes) I see the light leading me home again It's heaven in your arms, my love My heart is in your hands (Heaven in your arms) In your eyes (Your eyes) Seems so right I see forever in your smile
This woman is a child again (In your eyes)
Love's been building bridges between your heart and mine I'm safe here on my island, but I'm out on the edge this time I built a wall around me, thought I'd save myself the pain Your touch swept me away, now I'll never play it safe again
In your eyes (Your eyes) I see the light leading me home again It's heaven in your arms, my love My heart is in your hands (Heaven in your arms)
In your eyes (Your eyes) Seems so right I see forever in your smile This woman is a child again I've never been this close How do I know love will survive? I'm walking a tightrope
Here, in your arms, I'm alive I'm in your eyes (Your eyes) I see the light I see forever in your smile This woman is a child again
I'm in your eyes (In your eyes) (I see the light leading me home again) I see the light, I see the light (It's heaven in your arms, my love) (My heart is in your hands) Whoa...
I see forever in your smile This woman is a child again When I look in your eyes

Norway's 2015 Eurovision entry, A Monster Like Me performed by Mørland & Debrah Scarlett
Honey, I'm telling the truth I did something terrible in my early youth My mind went blank, I lost control I was just a little boy, I did not know
I better let you go To find the prince you thought you found in me I better set you free and give you up Just wave and say goodbye and let you live Without a monster like me
Honey, what am I to you? I have pulled the trigger on this awful truth Oh, hold me now 'cause I'm burning up Sing me something beautiful, just make it stop
I better let you go To find the prince you thought you found in me I better set you free and give you up Just wave and say goodbye and let you live Without a monster like me
Oh... oh... Oh... oh...
Just go To find the prince you thought you found I better set you free and give you up Just wave and say goodbye and let you live Without a monster like me, oh
To find the prince you thought you found in me I better set you free and give you up Just wave and say goodbye and let you live Without a monster like me, oh
To find the prince you thought you found in me I better set you free and give you up Just wave and say goodbye and let you live Without a monster like me, oh
Without a monster like me
Its a bit more abstract this one as you do have to flip the gender titles and takes a certain interpretation of particular scenes. But I find a fantastic duality to this one intermingling both Tara and Willow.
Tara - Its in the line "I'll go, I'm very sorry" in Family. The monster is the demon she believes herself to be. While a massive part is fear and control by her father for her deciding to leave I think its not a far stretch to believe in a way Tara deciding to go is her way of freeing Willow. She knows the difficulties she had with Oz and the idea that Willow thought Tara was an honest decent person and Tara wants Willow to find someone who is that, the prince you thought you found in me. To stop any further pain, Willow shouldn't have a monster like her in her life in order to be happy.
Willow - The end of Tabula Rasa, crying in the bathroom. She has mind wiped everyone but yet she stops there. Everyone found out why not go full psycho then to try and save her relationship, instead of wrecked. Instead she sits there and doesnt stop Tara go. To me that says she accepts shes done wrong and is allowing Tara to go. Just wave and say goodbye to let you live, The whole episode build up is in this song My mind went blank, I lost control. that in itself is a great back and fourth duet between Tara and Willow. I have pulled the trigger on this awful truth Tara speaking out at the start of the episode, the whole space talk. To be fair that whole verse has great parallels to their series six relationship.
Oh, hold me now 'cause I'm burning up - Despite just finding out Willow has played with her memory, when Buffy reveals she was taken from heaven, Tara still tries to comfort Willow.
Sing me something beautiful, just make it stop - Under your spell, Brilliant display of affection and Tara's story line however it also has the literal definition of Tara being under Willow's spell. A spell Willow did to make the fighting stop.
Honey, what am I to you? - Even that is a great call back to series four. New moon rising, "Everything changed, I changed and … then we - " "What?"
The whole song is an abstract merging of their darker moments, their self doubt however it shows their selflessness for one another, how they will let each other go if that's what will make them happy. the way the song is performed its sad but its not spiteful, its a purposeful meaning behind the action/argument even if ill advised or poorly thought of in the moment and I think that sums up most of Tara and Willow's darker relationship moments.

Bulgaria's 2016 Eurovision entry, If love was a crime performed by Poli Genova
You and I, we collide Like the stars on the summer night We can shine forever
And you and we're alive What we feel is what is right We can run like never
If love was a crime then we would be criminals Locked up for life but I'll do the time If love was a crime then we would work miracles High above the ground
They will never break us down О, дай ми любовта! дай ми любовта! О, дай ми любовта! They will never break us down О, дай ми любовта! дай ми любовта! О, дай ми любовта! They will never break us down
Never mind Wrong or right Our love ain't got no pride So we change for better
Unafraid Never fade When it's dark we illuminate When we rise together
If love was a crime then we would be criminals Locked up for life but I'll do the time If love was a crime then we would work miracles High above the ground
They will never break us down О, дай ми любовта! дай ми любовта! О, дай ми любовта! They will never break us down О, дай ми любовта! дай ми любовта! О, дай ми любовта! They will never break us down
Together we're untouchable You and me against the world Together we're invincible They will never break us down
О, дай ми любовта! дай ми любовта! О, дай ми любовта! They will never break us down О, дай ми любовта! дай ми любовта! О, дай ми любовта! They will never break us down
Together we're untouchable You and me against the world Together we're invincible О, дай ми любовта!
Together we're untouchable You and me against the world Together we're invincible They will never break us down
О, дай ми любовта! дай ми любовта! translates to Oh, give me love! give me the love!
The first verse alone is enough,
You and I, we collide - Hush Like the stars on the summer night - Listening to fear We can shine forever - This is a website dedicated to them 21 years later.
I'm not well versed on all the laws, as quite frankly they are barbaric and some laws aren't worth following as proven by the recent Sue Gray report ( if its not good enough for the law makers then why the general public, cheese and wine all round!). Ill handle salmon suspiciously if I want to officer. I know it was only in 2000 when section 28 ended in the UK. No idea about America but pretty sure for a time being Willow and Tara were a crime if you see a loving couple as propaganda. I mean kids grow up with punch and Judy which are domestic abuse puppets but that's fine apparently because there are sausages and a crocodile. Its a disgusting state in the world where in places it still is a crime. As long as there are people out there like Tara and Willow willing to do the time Then they will work miracles for those who that If isn't an if.

Belgium's 2013 Eurovision entry Love Kills performed by Roberto Bellarosa
So the arrow shot right through her heart and brought her to the cold And she felt so deep like she had never felt so deep before But the pain was almost unbelievable When the end was near she felt the fear alive, alive, alive
Waiting for the bitter pill, give me something I can feel 'Cause love kills over and over, love kills over and over Waiting for the bitter pill, something I can truly feel 'Cause love kills over and over, love kills over and over again
'Cause he didn't fight for life when he was up against the wall And he felt so scared for both of them, even though they had it all There's a lesson that you always have to learn To the consequence of fire comes the burn
Waiting for the bitter pill, give me something I can feel 'Cause love kills over and over, love kills over and over Waiting for the bitter pill, something I can truly feel 'Cause love kills over and over, love kills over and over again
One last, one last, one last prayer's for life Won't you give me, give me hope tonight?
I'll be waiting for the bitter pill, give me something I can feel 'Cause love kills over and over, love kills over and over Waiting for the bitter pill, something I can truly feel 'Cause love kills over and over, love kills over and over again
Rules are rules so no explanation but a spin explanation to make it positive. Hush.
So the arrow shot right through her heart - Fear, there's the campest monsters ever floating about. (The clap scene is the most scary version of camp I've ever seen.) and brought her to the cold - People are huddling around the fire so it must be cold outside. And she felt so deep like she had never felt so deep before - They say it all in their eyes. But the pain was almost unbelievable - That damn ankle hurts so much Willow wont even limp tomorrow. When the end was near she felt the fear alive, alive, alive - The adrenaline has to wear off at some point.
I'll be waiting for the bitter pill, give me something I can feel - some pain Killers are nasty but don't give a placebo. Wasted calories. 'Cause love kills over and over, love kills over and over - Tara sprained Willows ankle while knocking her over. She's a keeper but damn that ankle. But those eyes. But damn that ankle, but those eyes, but damn that ankle, but those eyes. over and over and over.

Iceland's 2021 Eurovision entry, 10 Years performed by Daði og Gagnamagnið
We’ve been together for a decade now Still everyday I’m loving you more If I could do it all again I’d probably do it all the same as before
I don’t wanna know what would have happened If I never had had your love I didn’t become myself before I met you I don’t wanna know what would have happened If I never had felt your love Everything about you I like
We started out so fast Now we can take it slower Love takes some time Takes a little time so take a little time As it ages like wine
How does it keep getting better? Everyday our love finds a new way to grow The time we spend together Simply feels good We got a good thing going
And just when I thought that my heart was full I found places that I never explored You’re so fascinating I can’t remember the last time I was bored
I don’t wanna know what would have happened If I never had had your love I didn’t become myself before I met you I don’t wanna know what would have happened I I never had felt your love Everything about you I like
How does it keep getting better Everyday our love finds a new way to grow The time we spend together Simply feels good
We got a good thing going How does it keep getting better Everyday our love finds a new way to grow The time we spend together Simply feels good We got a good thing going
Not the canonical truth but its the KB truth. The correct truth. The only truth. Truth.

Slovenia's 2015 Eurovision entry, Here for you, performed by Maraaya.
When you're down, down low And there's no place you can go When you're down, down, love You know that I am here for you
You came into my life when I was broken You heated up my heart when it was frozen And we got the flow, now it's up we go
And now that it's your turn you wanna hide it A million times already you've denied it You don't have to fear, you don't have to fight
When you're down, down low Sinking in the undertow When you're down, down low You know that I am here for you
'Cause I know, know baby All the hurt you never show When you're down, down low You gotta let me heal your aching soul
You came into my life when I was broken You heated up my heart when it was frozen And we got the flow, now it's up we go
'Cause you released my pain, now let me take it Just leave it at the door and we can make it You don't have to hide, I am by your side
Everybody else sees in black and white You look at wrong and make it right Can't I open your eyes?
When you're down, down low Sinking in the undertow When you're down, down low You know that I am here for you
'Cause I know, know baby All the hurt you never show When you're down, down low You gotta let me heal your aching soul
'Cause I know, know baby All the hurt you never show When you're down, down low You gotta let me heal your aching soul
When you're down, down low Sinking in the undertow When you're down, down low You know that I am here for you
Normally I make up my own meaning because I've still not recovered from child me learning that 50 Cent will not in fact be taking us to the candy shop. Don't get me started on Rhianna and her umbrella, It is ineffective for British weather! However I think for this one the artists explain it perfectly.
"The song is about friendship, I believe people can relate to the song. It holds a message about a true friendship when you can count on somebody, when you are down, when everything is falling apart, that you know, that somebody is there for you. That gives people hope. It is nice to know that somebody can count on you and that you can count on somebody."
There's countless moments to choose from with Tara and Willow.

France's 2016 Eurovision entryJ'ai Cherche Performed by Amir.
English translation - I have been looking for
You-ou-ou-ou-ou You-ou-ou-ou-ou
I was looking for a sense in my existence I have lost my innocence in doing so I finished my heart without defense I was looking for
Love and recognition I paid the price of silence I hurt myself and start again
You gave Me like the need to be myself Gave a sense to my why's You killed the fear Sleeping there, sleeping there In my arms
You-ou-ou-ou-ou You’re the one that’s making me strong I’ll be looking, looking for You-ou-ou-ou-ou Like the melody of my song
You-ou-ou-ou-ou You’re the one that’s making me strong I’ll be looking, looking for You-ou-ou-ou-ou Like the melody of my song
I was looking for a sense A point of reference Divided into two hemispheres Like an error of the universe I threw
So many bottles into the sea I drank so many bitter liquors That I got lips of stone from it
You gave Me like the need to be me Gave a sense to my why's You killed the fear Sleeping there, sleeping there In my arms
Along our injuries And our casualness It's when you don't believe in at all, That you will find a paradise lost
Within ou-u-u-rselves Oh, you, you, you
You-ou-ou-ou-ou You’re the one that’s making me strong I’ll be looking, looking for You-ou-ou-ou-ou Like the melody of my song (Like the melody of my song)
You gave Me like the need to be me Gave a sense to my why's You killed the fear Sleeping there, sleeping there In my arms
You-ou-ou-ou-ou You’re the one that’s making me strong I’ll be looking, looking for You-ou-ou-ou-ou Like the melody of my song

The UK's 2011 Eurovision entry, I can performed by Blue. Yes Blue, that's the UKs version of trying to send a class act, along with Engelbert Humperdinck and a clearly drunk Bonnie Tyler(she had a lovely time). We clearly think Europe is 10 years behind. Like 30/40 years behind in Humperdinck's case.
You were the eyes in the face of fortune I lost my way and I couldn't find you Oh... oh no
We're not the first ones to be divided Won't be the last to be reunited Oh... oh no
It's like rain fallin' down Drops of pain hit the ground I can't speak, there's no sound when you're gone (Yeah, yeah, come on)
I can, I will I know I can untie these hands Ge-ge-ge-get back up again I can, I will I know I can untie these hands Ge-ge-ge-get back up again
I can, oh I can (Get back up again)
I've never lost anything quite like this No second chances if I don't find it No, oh no, no
You closed the door and you kept on walkin' Left me behind and there's no more talkin' No, oh no (Oh no)
It's like rain fallin' down Drops of pain hit the ground I can't speak, there's no sound when you're gone
I can, I will I know I can untie these hands Ge-ge-ge-get back up again
I can, I will I know I can untie these hands Ge-ge-ge-get back up again (Come on)
I can, oh I can (Get back up again)
We're not the first ones to be divided, oh Won't be the last to be reunited, no (Come again, one more time) When you're gone (Come on)
I can, I will I know I can untie these hands Ge-ge-ge-get back up again I can, I will I know I can untie these hands Ge-ge-ge-get back up again
I can, I can Ge-ge-ge-get back up again
Yep its series six again but as way of compensation there's a bonus bit of trivia for this one. Lee Ryan ( the one who strangles the cat in the attempt to be the singer of the group.) He had the runs during his time at Eurovision. Class act UK, class act. Connect the faecal matter with certain decisions in series six as you will.
Untie hands, get back up again - Stop addiction (Because its that simple as sweating in bed and feeling bad for a bit but mainly about yourself instead of all the destruction you've caused to others.) sorry you feel all blechy Willow. feel good soon and instantly win back the woman of your dreams and turn her near miss (it never happened!) all about yourself.
You closed the door and you kept on walkin' - Technically the door was left open(they never lock it anyway so what's the point) but metaphorically yes, Tara closed the door on being manipulated. I assume she walked, apparently only the men drive as its too difficult for the women in the scoobies.
Left me behind and there's no more talkin' - maybe talking would have helped but first talk we are meant to believe is out side the magic box in dead things. which supposedly takes place about 2/3 months after Tabula Rasa.
We're not the first ones to be divided - Can say that again, oh wait they do.
If you're happy and you know it clap your hands *Crickets*, ill be nice next week.

Yep one letter short of dumb, fine to 2015 we go.
Denmark's 2015's Eurovision entry to be exact. The Way You Are, performed by Anti Social Media.
Summer's here, winter's gone Finally I can see the sun Every time you walk into the room
And all my fears disappear When I'm in your atmosphere I don't know what it is you do
But you do (Yeah, yeah, yeah) But you do (Yeah, yeah) And I can't explain why
It's the way you are It's just the way that you are That can make my day And bad times go away
It's the way you are It's just the way that you are That can make my day And bad times go away
Like an old radio A song I just can't let go All I got on my mind is you
Movie stars and caviar Couldn't get me where you are There's nothing I can do about it
It's the way you are It's just the way that you are That can make my day And bad times go away
And I'll be right there When you need someone to guide you (Guide you) Whatever it takes girl I will be doing it for you (For you)
'Cause I've been acting like a fool I wanna take my time and spend it all on you So girl just come and sweep my feet off the ground Like you do
It's the way you are It's just the way that you are That can make my day And bad times go away
It's the way you are It's just the way that you are That can make my day And bad times go away
Because it's all about you Because it's all about you girl And I'm hanging on to every single word you say
It's the way you are It's just the way that you are That can make my day And bad times go away
It's the way you are
It's all that ever mattered to them. No gimmicks, no purging into darkness or trying to make the best out of a bad situation. They like each other for who they are.
Willow's perfect quote - "I think about what you grew up with, and then I look at what you are ... it makes me proud. It makes me love you more."
Tara's perfect quote - "Hey, Will, this is me. It doesn't all have to be "good" and "fine." This is the room where you don't have to be brave. I still love you. If you're worried you can be worried."
Nothing else matters as long as they are the way they are.

Czech Republic's 2016 Eurovision entry, I Stand performed by Gabriela Gunčíková.
I've worn the path, I've hit the wall I'm the one who rose and fall I've played my heart when I played the part But it got me through the rain
I've felt the strain, I've made mistakes With the monsters in my head But in the end you're standing there You're the one who always cares
'Cause I stand, I stand I am standing here just because of you Every part of me is a part of you I stand
I'm standing tall, I can hold it all Now I see where I belong The choice I made helped me understand Now this life is mine to play
I am thanking you, you made me You are my air, I'll always care
'Cause I stand, I stand I am standing here just because of you Every part of me is a part of you I stand
You never lose hold of me You always trust and you see Here I stand
I stand, I stand I am standing here just because of you Every part of me is a part of you I stand
I stand
I feel Its an amalgamation of both Willow and Tara at the end of Entropy.
I Stand- Tara is standing at the door and the lift of Willow's face.
I've felt the strain, I've made mistakes - The journeys they have both had to get to that point
You're the one who always cares - they do always care
Every part of me is a part of you - Its all in the look.
I've played my heart when I played the part - No matter how bad their actions were to each other, I think in their own way they were always trying to do the best thing (In their view) if not the easiest or right thing to make each other happy.
I am standing here just because of you - Tara was Willows motivation. Willow worked at her problems and Tara saw that. But also the growth Willow unlocked for Tara, series four Tara wouldn't be standing there, series six Tara is there because of Willow to a large extent.
Now this life is mine to play - and play you shall.

Belgium's 2020 Eurovision entry, Release Me performed by Hooverphonic.
Release me Don't talk the way Release me It's not right to make me stay All the lies and all the pain Only you can make them go away Yeah, release me from this sad and losing game
Release me Don't say what I already know Release me Only trouble steals the show All those words won't comfort me It's clear we are not meant to be Yeah, release me from this sad and losing game
You're all I want A dangerous me It's wrong to keep you close to me And if you dare, if you care Then cut the ropes and float away Yeah, release me, if you love me let me go
Release me Don't talk the way Release me It's not right to make me stay All the lies and all the pain Only you can make them go away Yeah, release me from this sad and losing game
You're all I want A dangerous me It's wrong to keep you close to me And if you dare, if you care Then cut the ropes and float away Yeah, release me, if you love me let me go
All the lies and all the pain Only you can make them go away All those words won't conquer me It's clear we are not meant to be Yeah, release me from this sad and losing game Oh, release me, oh, release me from this sad and losing game Oh, release me, oh, release me from this sad and losing game
I think it fits marginally better at a different point but rules are rules and it never happened!
This is a moment. 'Dead Things' after Willow and Tara talk outside the magic box and you have Tara yet again walking away but you have Willow broken standing there yet again seeing her soulmate fleeing. No questions answered just a hole left empty. Tara also has that hole. They have this connection still and after the absence it didn't dim a flicker.
Release me - They have no answers but how can you still have such a connection with someone when you cant fix what's wrong with it. Tara needs a release in the sense of what is going to happen, are they getting back together, can she forgive her, a release from the pain of not being able to help her love with all her pain. A release would be answers.
Then with Willow you have her release in terms of her addiction. The hold it has on her still but also a release from her conscience she knows she did wrong. You're all I want A dangerous me It's wrong to keep you close to me I think those three lines cover it well. Is magic or Tara all she wants. She is a danger with magic and she is danger to Tara. For both cases its wrong to keep either close to her and that acknowledgement shows growth in Willows recovery journey knowing she has wronged Tara.
Then for Tara you have All the lies and all the pain Only you can make them go away All those words won't conquer me She has been lied to and having the one person she loves most in the world lost is a pain that she cant fix. Willow has to get better on her own terms and with everything that has gone on, a simple sorry wont do. Sorry wont conquer Tara, she needs more and deserves more than a sorry.
And if you dare, if you care Then cut the ropes and float away Yeah, release me, if you love me let me go This works for both of them. They both care which is why Tara has to stay away because she knows Willow wont forgive herself if she did anymore to Tara. If its not going to happen they need that connection to be cut and to be able to go on and live their lives independently. A testament to their emotional maturity at this point is that they know this is how it has to be. Tara doesn't stay and Willow doesn't follow.
This is a song of grief and knowing you have to let go despite every fibre of your body not wanting it to happen. And all this is in the look of Willow watching Tara walk away again. No answers, no hope, just a hole which cant be filled.
Only trouble steals the show - That's just the show but the KB has all the good moments to fill the hole.

North Macedonia's 2020 Eurovision entry, YOU performed by Vasil Garvanliev
Hand on my hand Fingertips trembling This feeling I can't understand Your eyes sending to me Pulling me closer And closer with sweet melodies
Sing it to me, sing it to me, oh We might only have tonight Hold me tight and let's ignite And for the moment, I
I just wanna dance with you Tonight I wanna I just wanna dance with you You know you wanna I just wanna dance with you Tonight I wanna
I just wanna dance with you You know you wanna My lips find yours And just like a muse You've taken over me I like it I want more
Oh We might only have tonight Hold me tight and let's ignite And for the moment, I
I just wanna dance with you Tonight I wanna I just wanna dance with you You know you wanna I just wanna dance Tonight (Give it to me baby) (Give it to me baby) (Give it to me baby) Give it to me, give it to me
I just wanna dance with you Tonight I wanna I just wanna dance with you You know you wanna I wanna dance with you
Its more a feeling than lyrical. For me this whole song and performance oozes attraction. that private sensuality between two people. Like a broken record i keep saying there is not a look or movement without meaning and this gives that feeling. The touch of the leg in 'Where the Wild Things Are'. The stroke of the cheek in 'New Moon Rising'. The comforting snuggles in 'family' 'The bargaining', 'After Life'. You don't have to see anything to know how into each other they are. The chemistry is naturally there meaning there's no need to see them banging on tombstones and for me is why they are the best couple on the show (in general). We see everyone else at it, even Giles and none come close to the sensuality of these two.
Hand on my hand Fingertips trembling This feeling I can't understand Your eyes sending to me Pulling me closer And closer with sweet melodies
Where it all started. that laundry room. the clasp of their hands, the magic flowing between them. the look between them. No looking back, no regrets.

Israel's 2019 Eurovision entry, Home performed by Kobi Marimi
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-ooh
Caught up in this moment 'til my heartbeat stops I've been running barefoot to the mountain tops Nothing comes as easy as it goes I can hug the water when it snows
I feel the sun upon my skin And I am someone, I am someone
You pulled my heart, I took it in It made me someone, I am someone And now I'm done, I'm coming home I used to listen to the way they talk Counting down the minutes from the ticking clock
I feel the sun upon my skin And I am someone, I am someone
You pulled my heart, I took it in It made me someone, I am someone And now I'm done, I'm coming Home was so far, collecting scars, I refuse Another touch won't be another bruise
I feel the sun upon my skin And I am someone, I am someone You pulled my heart, I took it in It made me someone, I am someone
I am standing tall not giving in 'Cause I am someone, I am someone
And now I'm done, I'm coming Now I'm done, I'm coming Now I'm done, I'm coming home
This is one for Tara. In particular Tara at the end of 'Family'.
Nothing comes as easy as it goes - She knows loss and hasn't found attachment to anyone since (Seems the fanon consensus.)
I used to listen to the way they talk Counting down the minutes from the ticking clock - Being told she is a demon. Trying to find a solution before her twentieth birthday.
Home was so far, collecting scars, I refuse - Home was nothing but abuse and she chose to flee.
You pulled my heart, I took it in It made me someone, I am someone - This is the counterpoint to Roxen's Amnesia because while they do lose some self love when apart the amount of strength and self worth they gain from being together is instrumental to their character. While Willow is a driving force for it, at this point of time it is all the Scoobies who pulled her heart. they took her in and they accepted her as family. Home is where the heart is and her heart while fundamentally with Willow, it is with all the Scoobies. They make her feel like someone, not a demon. A person, a friend, a sister, a daughter, a lover, So much more than she ever valued herself as before. They help her see her value.
"Are you happy now?" - I am standing tall not giving in - Cue that smile.

Estonia's 2020 Eurovision entry, What Love is performed by Uku Suviste
How mysterious this life can be? Full of beautiful surprises I never really knew the man I thought was me Dreams that I believed Convinced my destiny I was meant to be alone But how can you know how a star looks If you've never looked at the sky? I couldn't have told you what blue is 'Til I looked into your eyes Or how soft the feel of a cloud is 'Til I was touching your skin The world is a wonder of wonders I'd never seen I never imagined the power I never imagined the need I never imagined what love is Now love is all I dream
How wonderful was the awakening Now everything is the sunrise Painted in sounds of your breathing Colored by your signs
I never knew What it was to Love Much too sensible too reasonable Ever to believe in miracles But now you've come to me Changed my destiny I'll never be alone
I never imagined the power I never imagined the need I never imagined what love is Now love is all I dream How wonderful was the awakening Now everything is the sunrise Painted in sounds of your breathing Colored by your signs
I never imagined the power I never imagined the need I never imagined what love is Now love is all I dream
I never imagined the power I never imagined the need I never imagined what love is Now love is all I dream
I never knew What it was to love
I did one for Tara so its only fair I do one for Willow. This to me is Willows transition from Wild at heart to New Moon Rising. Her sorrow and then unexpectedly falling for Tara. For a love she wasn't looking for but it was different to what she had previously. Its a celebration of her new love while still acknowledging the old love.
I couldn't have told you what blue is 'Til I looked into your eyes - Every look.
How wonderful was the awakening - "life was starting to get so good again, and... you're a big part of that." - The awakening that it can get better.
I never imagined the power I never imagined the need - Could be taken ominously for future story lines but ultimately they get strength from each other and they do need each other because together they grow, they learn and for the most part they are happy.
Tell me your secrets, I’lll keep them safe No sign of weakness, it’s a sign of faith We’ll stand tall so you don’t fall
You’re not defeated, you’re in repair Don’t have to call me, I’ll always be there We’ll stand tall, so you don’t fall
If you could see how far you’ve walked You would see that’s all not lost
I will never give up on you I don’t care what I’ve got to lose Just give me your hand and hold on Together we’ll dance through this storm I will never give up on you You’re the one that I’m running to Just give me your hand and hold on Together we’ll dance through this storm
Under the surface, I see you glow I’m right beside you, you’re never alone Don’t let go, when you’re so close
If you could see how far you’ve walked You would see that’s all not lost
I will never give up on you I don’t care what I’ve got to lose Just give me your hand and hold on Together we’ll dance through this storm I will never give up on you You’re the one that I’m running to Just give me your hand and hold on Together we’ll dancing through…
This madness, we’re running through This magic, it’s inside of you It’s madness, it’s madness…
Now you can see how you’ve walked, The mountain climbed, the oceans crossed
I don’t care what I’ve got to lose Just give me your hand and hold on Together we’ll dance through this storm I will never give up on you You’re the one that I’m running to Just give me your hand and hold on Together we’ll dance through this storm
This for me is the heart of the Willow Tara relationship. Be it when they are apparently just friends, maybe broken up or rightfully together. I find this song fits for so many situations and runs through so many emotions. I can see this song as a reassuring pick me up but also as a complete cry of desperation. It can be extremely touching or horribly chilling given the context.
The touching factor I see in the context of a montage. A show of everything overcome in a relationship and knowing that it’s not perfect and it’s likely to still be rough but we did this together and we have each other always. Through thick and thin. - "Can we just skip it?"
The horribly chilling is from Lucie's performance, she is a fantastic West End performer and what I get from her performance is an outpouring of don't give up. The song isn't I will never give up on you. It’s, never give up on you. And it feels like she is explaining herself to someone she loves who has given up on themselves. - "You have to be with the person you love" "I am."
Spoiler tag for trigger purposes. Seriously, it’s not good stuff in there.
Spoiler:
The way it starts out so soft and builds up its momentum, to me when I visualise it, she is approaching someone about to jump. They are on the other side of the railing and she is talking them down.
I don’t care what I’ve got to lose Just give me your hand and hold on Together we’ll dance through this storm
- Imagine having so much self-loathing and feeling like you are bringing everyone down. The one person you love more than anything in the whole world, you feel you hold them back. The inability to understand what they see in you. How they could ever see anything in you. Then they are there telling you they don't care, all they want is in a desperate plea to take your hand and get you off that edge. The idea that they want to go through the storm with you.
This is the chorus and it’s repeated over and over, each time more forcibly, almost getting to the point of anger. Lucie leaves no doubt that she is going nowhere until you're off that edge. Until a tiny spark flares in you for you to give your hand.
Sorry I couldn't find the right portrayal of emotion describing it in third person. I gave a warning.
The spoiler gives a very specific context but for those who didn't read it, it’s in essence being at your complete lowest and having someone there no matter what and fighting for you when you can’t fight for yourself because you've given up. That's the horribly chilling factor to it.
Now to pick a single moment for this to be touching and chilling, is the slap in 'The Gift'
You’re not defeated, you’re in repair Don’t have to call me, I’ll always be there - Willow feels bad for looking into ways to help Tara but she doesn’t give up. There is no doubt Willow will look after Tara "Even if she never ..."
I will never give up on you - "You're my Always"
Under the surface, I see you glow - The pain in Tara's eyes once she realises what she has done and Willow is looking straight at her. She knows Tara is in there. "Sometimes she looks at me and she's fine ... she's fine"
I’m right beside you, you’re never alone - Just leaving her to be in the next room in 'weight of the world' pained them both.
I don’t care what I’ve got to lose - That's a hard on slap, then to be called a bitch. But it only takes a second and the resolve face is on "I’ll get you back" literally moments before Willow was saying their heads might explode. Willow 100% would give up her life if it meant saving Tara.
Don’t let go, when you’re so close - "don’t worry love, it won’t be long"
If you could see how far you’ve walked You would see that’s all not lost - Even series four Tara to end series five Tara the growth is astounding. Willow sees it all and she will always find her. "I'll always find you"
This madness, we’re running through This magic, it’s inside of you It’s madness, it’s madness… - Yes Tara is currently mindless however it is foreshadowing for series six. "There was always magic". But also to an extent a foreshadowing to Willows addiction. This magic is madness is her perception, which is accelerated by the events of 'the Gift'
I cannot fault Willow at this point. It is complete peak Willow for me and I think the counter point to this for Tara is her leaving in series six. She doesn't want to leave but I think she knew if she didn't Willow wouldn't notice she has a problem. I debate it all the time why Tara didn't tell someone before leaving about the magic but ultimately I think Tara knew Willow has to see things on her own. If she is told something she doesn't accept, she has to fight it, disprove it in a way. Like a scientist and a thesis. She walks away from everything for Willow. Yes she was treated badly and her tendency tends to be flight than fight but when she flees she skips town, she stayed. Ok yes there is college but in TV land it seems transferring elsewhere is a piece of piss.
"Never give up on you" - Even when they are at their lowest they have each other. When apart they have each other, even if they don't realise it. They gave each other their hands and they held on. Sometimes they have to make awful decisions, heart-breaking decisions but it’s for the best of the other.
This song is everything they have gone through and the lengths they will go to. If one gives up, the other will not, even if it’s a negative on them. No sign of weakness, it’s a sign of faith They have each other no matter what. "She's my everything"
This is a promotion for my TillowVision entry "You're My Always" - My embodiment of the song through a Willow and Tara story. A combination of the touching and chilling.

Italy's 2020 Eurovision entry, Fai rumore Performed by Diodato.
English translation (Link is not a direct translation, read the video information for more details)
You know what I think? That I shouldn’t be thinking, that if I think about it then, I’m an animal and if I think about you, you’re a soul
But maybe it’s this storm that brings me to you And I know I shouldn’t be found without an umbrella, even though
I realized that as far as I run away I always come back to you
Who make noise, here and I don’t know if it’s good for me if your noise suits me
But you make noise, yes and I can’t stand this unnatural silence between you and me
And I’m walking without talking with nowhere to go I’m wearing down my shoes and perhaps my shoes know where to go
That I find myself in the same places again, exactly those places that I should have avoided and I pretend I don’t remember and I pretend to forget
But I realize that as far as I run away I always come back to you
Who make noise, here and I don’t know if it’s good for me if your noise suits me
But you make noise, yes and I can’t stand this unnatural silence between you and me
But you make noise, yes and I can’t stand this unnatural silence
And now I don’t want to do without that beautiful noise you make
Diodata explains how it is a song about the silence at the the end of a love story. "The title is a plea for a former love to manifest themselves once more and to give a sign of love and life. Diodato is essentially saying he misses the sound of the person who’s left him behind."
Now I gave Remember Me the slot of the outside the magic box 'Dead Things' conversation (Starting to think I can narrate their whole relationship through Eurovision 2020). but this one I'm giving to all of their relationship from 'Smashed' to 'Entropy'. Every look and every conversation not had. The look and giggles when sorting Anya's wedding dress in ' Hell's Bells', the pleading humour of Willow practicing asking for gay love in 'Normal Again'. They both want a to know where they stand what's going to happen. they have all these small moments when they could be saying something, wanting to hear something but they don't.
The emotion is in the Italian but the translation is here for the lyrical aspect of connecting it.
You know what I think? That I shouldn’t be thinking, that if I think about it then, I’m an animal and if I think about you, you’re a soul - Willow has done some terrible things so how does she have the right to still love someone she hurt, all the guilt and mutual pain caused but she does and she cant stop it. They're soulmates.
But I realize that as far as I run away I always come back to you - Tara left but here she is repeatedly, the magic box, the wedding, the house just when needed in 'Normal again' then eventually the house in 'Entropy'. They built a life together and are connected so of course everywhere she goes she's coming back to Willow. They share a family, a proper family and there's no running from that.
And now I don’t want to do without that beautiful noise you make - JUST TALK ALREADY!

Denmark's Eurovision 2020 entry, YES performed by Ben & Tan.
I was six feet under for the one and only Spent the nights feeling bitter, sad and lonely Didn’t realize how much fear controlled me Until you came and loved me like I’m holy Now I’m ready to give life one more chance
Think my heart is beating me to death I have got an arrow through my chest I am so in love, I must confess Say yes, say yes, say yes Think my heart is beating me to death I have got an arrow through my chest I am so in love, I must confess Say yes, say yes Ooh, ooh, ooh
Never thought I would be high on life but sober Didn’t think that I’d be able to turn this over Let’s make stories to talk about when we’re older Come and rest your pretty head up on my shoulder Now I’m ready to give life one more chance
Think my heart is beating me to death I have got an arrow through my chest I am so in love, I must confess Say yes, say yes, say yes Think my heart is beating me to death I have got an arrow through my chest I am so in love, I must confess Say yes, say yes Ooh, ooh, ooh Say yes, say yes, say yes Ooh, ooh, ooh
Let’s make stories to talk about when we’re older (hmm) Come and rest your pretty head up on my shoulder Ooh, ooh, oh Say yes, say yes (say yes)
Think my heart is beating me to death I have got an arrow through my chest I am so in love, I must confess Say yes, say yes, say yes (say yes) Think my heart is beating me to death I have got an arrow through my chest I am so in love, I must confess Say yes, say yes
Think my heart is beating me to death I have got an arrow through my chest I am so in love, so just say yes
This captures all the moments of their relationship the good and the bad, which is good because that's what Ben & Tan were going for "“Yes” celebrates the balance of the crappy things about love and the beautiful things and because there is a human element to it, people can relate to it”." Hmm that quote sounds familiar - Couldn't find it but I made my way on the buffyboards and now I'm fuming. She's not boring. you don't have to be mean to people and punch things and turn evil to be interesting. - Its a quote by Amber saying the relationship was real and that's why people can relate to it.
Spent the nights feeling bitter, sad and lonely Didn’t realize how much fear controlled me Until you came and loved me like I’m holy - Willow after Oz, Tara believing herself to be a demon, They found each other.
Think my heart is beating me to death I have got an arrow through my chest I am so in love, I must confess Say yes, say yes, say yes - 'New Moon Rising' - Tara facing the prospect of losing Willow. Willow confused over what to do, Oz coming back is the arrow through her chest. "Do what makes you happy". "Extra flame-y ... Gonna make it up to your right now" - Say yes, say yes, say yes
'Tough Love' -The argument, Think my heart is beating me to death - Glory's mind suck, I have got an arrow through my chest - "You hear that baby? ... You're my always", I am so in love, I must confess
Never thought I would be high on life but sober Didn’t think that I’d be able to turn this over - 'Seeing Red' - "I forgot what its like without the magic" "There was always magic"
Let’s make stories to talk about when we’re older - The diary scene in 'Forever' - "And every last thing I do with you."
Come and rest your pretty head up on my shoulder - 'Family' - 'Intervention' - 'Spiral' - 'The Bargaining' - 'After Life' - 'All The Way' - 'Seeing Red'
Ill avoid the last chorus meaning as IT NEVER HAPPENED!
A song of their whole story. Each chorus a different context but each one the undeniable feeling these two women share. If Pens ever needs a Eurovision tagline - Let’s make stories to talk about when we’re older
The night is like an echo Like a reflection of your words Inside my heart, I read An endless story
About you About you, about you, about you
You, you are the best in me You’re making it all complete You are, you are, you are In every breath I breathe Forever eternally You are, you are, you are You are the best in me
I’d do the impossible Send my innocence on a journey So that it gives birth To everything we promised each other
You are You are, you are, you are
You, you are the best in me You’re making it all complete You are, you are, you are In every breath I breathe Forever eternally You are, you are, you are You are the best in me
My accomplice, my accomplice Even if time were to stop Without you, I’d lose the best in me
You are the best in me (You are the best in me) You’re making it all complete You are, you are, you are You are the best in me You’re making it all complete You are, you are, you are In every breath I breathe Forever eternally You are, you are, you are You are the best in me You are the best in me
I mean its my top compliment of Willow, Tara. I quite like how telling this is, Which one do you think of first when hearing this? No in fairness they bring out the best and worst in each other. they are each others drive and together they've grown so much. Overall its the good that wins
Without you, I’d lose the best in me - The worst.
You’re making it all complete - The best, also a 'OMWF' nod.
Forever eternally - "You're my always"
Send my innocence on a journey - Series 4 - innocence, Series 6 - not so much.
An endless story - See I keep saying IT NEVER HAPPENED! - Also thanks Pens.

Greece's 2022 Eurovision entry, Die Together. Performed by Amanda Georgiadi Tenfjord,
I’m in your back seat You are driving me crazy You’re in fully control It’s like you always know so Are you having a good time? Doesn’t seem like you’re all fine We don’t laugh anymore And when we cry we do it on our own
It’s been a lovely year for us Yeah, that’s what they say It’s been a hell of a year And we’ve been living in fear Close to giving up
But if we die together now We will always have each other I won’t lose you for another And if we die together now I will hold you ’til forever If we die together, die together now
I love you, say that you love me too That’s the only way we can get out of this hell we made
It’s been a lovely year for us Yeah, that’s what they say It’s been a hell of a year And we’ve been living in fear Close to giving up
But if we die together now We will always have each other I won’t lose you for another And if we die together now I will hold you ’til forever If we die together, die together
Take my heart, rip it out Bring it to the other side Take my heart, rip it out Bring it to the other side Take my heart, rip it out Bring it to the other side Take my heart, rip it out Oh, take my heart, rip it
‘Cause if we die together now We will always have each other I won’t lose you for another And if we die together I will hold you ’til forever If we die together, die together now
This is not lyrical. The first time I heard this was on the night and even before it got to the first chorus, I felt it. When it hit the chorus, I knew it. This is a W/T song.
Lyrical interpretations of this song are extreme and I don't feel it at all. Its all murder suicide and possession. Erm its Eurovision. there were space wolves singing about bananas all as a metaphor for vaccines. The theme this year was sound of beauty (not that any entries pay attention to the theme each year). murder suicide would not be allowed to enter, at least not so forward with it.
To me this song represents all the pain of love and coming through it because you know, no matter how hard it gets, its all worth it because you love each other no matter what. In all the darkness there's a belief they can get through it.
The whole rip my heart part. Its not literal, she has aggressive hand gestures sure, but she's not Kali Ma-ing it. She is asking for the pain if it means they can be better for it and happy after it.
I know I'm a broken record with series six connections on this thread but the feeling is the whole way through the song, just like the feeling is all the way through Willow and Tara's relationship.
You have, Willows friend isolation and Tara's demon hiding in series four, Tara's family revelations, losing Joyce, Mindless Tara in series five, you have the grief of losing Buffy, the addiction, the separation, the loneliness of series six. they have pain all throughout but they do it all together.
Die together is an extreme, its the worst case scenario to die and its a pledge of sorts, to say no matter what comes at us, be it from each other or the world around us, no matter how bad it is, we face it together.
To me its the bond Tara and Willow share and between the lines, this song captures that. I think its one of the most beautiful songs, for the most beautiful relationship.
There's light in the darkness and Tara and Willow remind us of that with every look, every touch, every last bagel.

I'm stuck on Eurovision 2022 and its all doom and gloom, which I've spread thick here so we are going on an excursion away from Eurovision this week for some good ole fun.
Gitchee Gitchee Goo, by Phineas Flynn and Phineas and the Ferb-Tones. Featuring Candace Flynn.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Ferbettes I'm Phineas and this is Ferb And we're gonna sing a song
Bow chika, bow, bow That's what my baby says Mow, mow, mow and my heart starts pumpin' Chicka chicka choo wap Never gonna stop Gitchee gitchee goo means that I love you
My baby's got her own way of talking Whenever she says something sweet And she knows it's my world she's a-rockin' Though my vocabulary's incomplete And though it may sound confusing Sometimes I wish she'd give it to me straight But I never feel like I'm losing (losing) When I take the time to translate Here's what I'm talking 'bout
Bow chicka bow wow, that's what my baby says! Mow, mow, mow and my heart starts pumpin' Chicka chicka choo wap Never gonna stop Gitchee gitchee goo means that I love you
Well I don't know what to do (I don't know what to do) But I think I'm getting through (I think I'm getting through) 'Cause when I say I love you (when I say I love you) She says "I gitchee gitchee goo you too" Gitchee gitchee goo you too Gitchee gitchee goo you too Gitchee gitchee goo you too Don't need a dictionary!
Bow chicka, bow, wow, that's what my baby says! Mow mow mow and my heart starts pumpin' Chicka chicka choo wap Never gonna stop Gitchee gitchee goo means that I love you
I said bow, chicka, bow-wow That's what my baby says Mow, mow, mow And my heart starts pumpin' Chicka, chicka, choo wap Never gonna stop Gitchee gitchee goo means that I love you Gitchee gitchee goo means that I love you Gitchee gitchee goo means that I love you Baby, baby, baby (baby, baby, baby, baby) Gitchee gitchee goo means that I love you

I've checked and this thread says nothing about it having to be Canon Willow and Tara.
To promote Inevitable Fic Club starting today I have chosen a song that reminds me of Inevitable Willow and Tara.
Romania's Eurovision 2022 entry, Llámame performed by WRS.
Knew that I was different than the others They never liked you Trying to keep my head above the water But you making it so hard to
What If they gonna find out Nobody is gonna like if We get away Need you to stay
What If they gonna find out Nobody is gonna like if We get away Need you to stay
Hola, mi bebébé Hola, mi bebébé Llámame, llámame Llámame, llámame
Hola, mi bebébé Hola, mi bebébé Llámame, llámame Llámame, llámame
My love cannot be stopped by anybody Cuz it's so true Let's show it the to world cause I won’t hide it Are you down to believe in sins too
What If they gonna find out Nobody is gonna like if We get away Need you to stay
And when you say my name My world is crumbling I feel complete all I need is your mystic touch Don’t worry bout them now I’ll keep you safe and sound We’re so in love
Hola, mi bebébé Hola, mi bebébé Llámame, llámame Llámame, llámame
Hola, mi bebébé Hola, mi bebébé Llámame, llámame Llámame, llámame
What If they gonna find out - Find out what?
My love cannot be stopped by anybody - But what if anybody includes yourself?
Let's show it the to world cause I won’t hide it - Is there some globe trotting?
And when you say my name My world is crumbling - That's a given in any Universe. But does the world actually crumble?
I’ll keep you safe and sound - How? Why? When?
Want the answers to these questions, check out Inevitable by Laragh

Lativa's 2022 Eurovision entry, Eat Your Salad, performed by Citi Zēni
Instead of meat, I eat veggies and pussy I like them both fresh, like them both juicy I ride my bicycle to work instead of a car All of my groceries are divided by weight And stored in glass jars (yeah)
Got my reusable bag That's swag, my flex, my flag Zero waste, that is my jam Save fuel and sell your truck The karma comes for free and so does luck
All aboard the green Titanic Let's sail the world and then cruise the Atlantic No ice in the way, no need to panic All the signs are there, let's go organic
Oh, when you eat your veggies, baby, think of me (Little kitty, don't you know that being green is cool?)
Know that being green is hot (it's hot) Being green is cool (it's cool) Eat your salad, save the planet Being green is sexy as fuck
Being green is hot (it's hot) Being green is cool (it's cool) Eat your salad, save the planet Being green is sexy as you
Ring, ring, goddamn, it's an exam, let's go Get your trash can, no backup plan, and sort through it Bend over, then jiggle that peach (ayy) You're recycling while I'm loving those cheeks (that's sweet)
I'm a beast instead of a killer, forget the hot dogs (what?) 'Cause my sausage is just bigger Three, two, one, all the girls go eco If you want your man's tongue longer than a gecko's
Oh, when you eat your veggies, baby, think of me (Little kitty, don't you know that being green is cool?)
Know that being green is hot (it's hot) Being green is cool (it's cool) Eat your salad, save the planet Being green is sexy as fuck
Being green is hot (it's hot) Being green is cool (it's cool) Eat your salad, save the planet Being green is sexy as you
Know that being green is hot (it's hot) Being green is cool (it's cool) Eat your salad, save the planet (yeah, yeah) Being green is sexy as fuck (yeah)
Being green is hot (it's hot) Being green is cool (it's cool) Eat your salad, save the planet Being green is sexy as-
Know that being green is hot (it's hot) Being green is cool (it's cool) Eat your salad, save the planet Being green is sexy as fuck
Being green is hot (it's hot) Being green is cool (it's cool) Eat your salad, save the planet Being green is sexy as you, oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
"Promise me that you will eat something green tonight. Leafy green, not ... gummi green." - Tara, Smashed
Tara would definitely have reusable bags, I'm not sure she ate miss kitty but that's not the context this song is going for. For that context, Pens confirms it. And if Tara is green and being green is sexy, well, come to your own conclusions.
I imagine Tara bursting into this while Dawn watches nonchalantly slurping her milkshake. Yeah its weird she's calling her young ward sexy but without Willow and scooby time Tara might be going stir crazy. But if you are what you eat and Tara wants Dawn to eat green, then does that mean Tara wants Dawn to be sexy? I'm not sure where this train of though is going. think ill just step off.
Tara is eco friendly. I think. Nothing weird with Dawn, Oh, when you eat your veggies, baby, think of me Imagine Tara says the smashed line to Willow instead for the sake of this song connection. its the only way to derail this thought train.

Austria's 2015 Eurovision entry, I Am Yours, performed by the Makemakes
Anytime that you're thinking of me That you might want me, I come on over Don't you know, anytime, anyplace, I am yours
You're a lesson that I love learning So anytime that you've got a yearning Don't you know, anytime, anyplace, I am yours
You're the one I belong to, the one thing that feels true Everything that I could ever want If you ever need me, I'm waiting on you To arrive through the door, anytime, anyplace, I'm yours
If you're hoping for second chances Of stolen kisses, I got the answer Don't you know, anytime, anyplace, I'm yours
You're the one I belong to, the one thing that feels true Everything I could ever want If you ever need me, I'm waiting on you To arrive through the door, anytime, anyplace, I'm yours
You're the one I belong to, the one thing that feels true Everything I could ever want If you ever need me, I'm waiting on you To arrive through the door, anytime, anyplace, I'm yours Anytime, anyplace, I'm yours
I mean, do you need an explanation. Answers in the title.
I refuse to think this was written as anything other than an ode to series four Tara and Willow. Doors, I'm yours and the dude even makes his piano extra flame-y.

Lithuania’s 2018 Eurovision entry, When We’re Old. Performed by Ieva Zasimauskaitė.
I know I’ll never forget, that day the first time we met We’ve come a long way since then, and I would do it all again
From your very first smile, I knew that I’d walk a mile See it’s for real when you know You never wanna let go
These are the reasons I want you to know, ohhh You make this place feel like home These are the reasons I can’t let you go, ohh Let’s sing this song when we’re old
When we’re old (old…) When we’re old (old…)
No matter what comes our way I feel like you’re hear to stay You were there right from the start And let me inside your heart
After all this time, I hear the sound of goodbye And if you leave, I would…
These are the reasons I want you to know, ohhh You make this place feel like home These are the reasons I can’t let you go, ohh Let’s sing this song when we’re old
When we’re old (old…) When we’re old (old…)
Right from our very first kiss, I knew it’d end up like this I’m not afraid to grow old If I have your hand to hold
Often when looking into Willow and Tara’s turbulence, I find myself giving the argument its own entity instead of housing it inside of their relationship. When we’re old is where I go to remind myself of their entity.
Lyric wise there are connections to be made. A full circle, starting with reminisce of the first time they met and ending with holding hands. Where it all began.
To me this song is the rhythm of their relationship. Its soft, some instances there’s a rise but it’s consistent in its pacing. It’s not of the moment or a fix for now, it’s a combination of all moments. The light notes above, smatterings of all the sparkly moments their relationship brings for them. The cords a step they make together in their own personal growth and as a relationship.
It seems simplistic but yet there’s a real depth there. If a sound could express what they see when they look at one another, for me it is this song. One look saying a million words. One glance it’s just a girl but one look, one proper look and it’s an entire existence that could be lived.
Its nostalgic looking back but yet looking forward also hopeful.
I believe they see in each other what has been, what is and what could be. Not always easy to look at in themselves or one another but all the moments put together, what they achieve in their relationship, make this sound.

Sweden’s 2023 Eurovision entry,Tattoo. Performed by Loreen.
I don't wanna go But baby, we both know This is not our time It's time to say goodbye
Until we meet again 'Cause this is not the end It will come a day When we will find our way
Violins playin' and the angels cryin' When the stars align, then I'll be there
No, I don't care about them all 'Cause all I want is to be loved And all I care about is you You're stuck on me like a tattoo
No, I don't care about the pain I'll walk through fire and through rain Just to get closer to you You're stuck on me like a tattoo
I'm letting my hair down I'm takin' it cool You got my heart in your hand Don't lose it, my friend It's all that I got
No, I don't care about them all 'Cause all I want is to be loved And all I care about is you You're stuck on me like a tattoo
No, I don't care about the pain I'll walk through fire and through rain Just to get closer to you You're stuck on me like a tattoo
All I care about is love Oh, oh, oh All I care about is love You're stuck on me like a tattoo
This is the closest I have gotten to understanding why Tara was at that door in Entropy.
After everything, there’s a party, a wedding, a rescue and a coffee. Then there she is.
The absolute betrayal of trust. But hey, caffeine.
I get it as a plot point but even so Tara is there. She made the choice to go back and part of me is endlessly trying to understand why? To believe in that moment instead of being swept in the emotional momentum.
From the first verse it makes me think of Tabula Rasa, the ultimatum at the table. The closing scene. It wasn’t a choice either wanted but it’s also a choice neither could end up with the decision they wanted.
Tara didn’t want to go but Willow couldn’t stop. Willow didn’t want Tara to go but she couldn’t stop.
I can’t look at it black and white. I don’t see it as a split and even Tara and Willow are saying different things to what others ae viewing it as. Dawn telling Tara what she thinks she wants to hear. Anya saying Tara up and left. No, I don't care about them all. It’s their interpretations not what Tara and Willow are saying and the second verse says this to me. They will find their way. Tara needs to work out what she wants while Willow needs to manage her addiction.
Violins playin' and the angels cryin' When the stars align, then I'll be there
Not saying we’re angels but there is crying. In Listening to Fear we see Willow and Tara stargaze and we see Tara’s world her way, big pineapple twinkling. Willow see’s death. I’ve always taken that to mean Tara see’s hope in the stars and the first thing she says leaving the house in Older and Far Away is ‘Look at the stars.’ The beginnings of hope perhaps. But she sees Willow is trying. The alignment needed for maybe Tara to accept what she actually wants even if it hurts.
Maybe she don’t care about them all. Cause all she wants is to be loved.
In press interviews Loreen said the song is about a love so deep that its permanently part of you.
Tara doesn’t revert back to her series 4 self, Willow doesn’t revert back to high school self. Their connection changed them both. Their effect on one another is part of who they are. Willows confidence, transition into a protector. Tara having confidence in her actions and conviction. Speaking up for herself. It’s because of Willow she could walk away from Willow. Would they be who they are without knowing each other at all? Or has their meeting permanently marked them.
They walk through the fire. Maybe this time they’re their own fire.
I still don’t know but maybe it’s them both caring about love, that permanent mark they want to keep. There’s no denying there’s a lot of unresolved pain but maybe still caring is what saw Willow through and why Tara is at that door.
