Summary: Tara gets a letter from Willow that changes her mind about things.
Note: Takes place after ‘Wrecked’.
Note: Thoughts are in <>
Tara sighed as she woke up. The light coming through the curtains was hurting her head even more. She looked around for a few minutes, not really knowing where she was. Then it all came back to her
Willow and her were no longer together. They were apart, they had broken up, she had left Willow. And Willow was addicted to dark magic.
Tara had been in denial the first few days after she left. But the phone call from Buffy last night had confirmed her worst fears. Willow had a problem. She had almost killed herself and Dawn, and God knows what she had let that Rack guy do to her.
Tara couldn’t bear it. She couldn’t believe that the same Willow who had been prepared to spend her whole life taking care of Tara after Glory had taken Tara’s sanity, was now an addict.
Tara got out of bed and walked over to the sink. She was about to wash her face when something on the floor caught her eye.
She walked over and examined it. It was an envelope with only her name written on it. She knew the writing; it was unmistakable; only one person wrote her name like that.
She opened it and took out the letter inside. She sat down on her bed and began to read.
Tara,
I know that’s there is nothing I can say that will make things better, but I need you to know how I feel. The first thing you need to know is that I love you. I love you more than anything else in the world, please believe that. I know that what I did was wrong, and every time I think about how I hurt you it feels like my heart Is being ripped out. I thought I was okay after you left. I thought I could handle my life without you, And for a while, I could, but only because of the magic. I thought that magic would make the pain go away. But it didn’t. Because it’s not magic unless you’re here with me. I can’t stand being away from you. I miss everything about you.
I understand you probably want nothing more to do with me and I don’t blame you. But even if you never speak to me again, you need to know how I feel about you. You changed my life when I met you. You made me happy when we were together and heartbroken when we weren’t. You made me want to be a better person, you made me appreciate things more. And you made me see for the first time what it’s really like to be in love. I thought I was in love with Oz, but you changed everything
Being in love with you is the most wonderful feeling in the world. But knowing that you were in love with me is indescribable. You make me want to tell the world how happy I am, and how unlucky they are that they’re not with you. I cry when you cry, and every time I see you smile, I feel like I’m going to burst with happiness. Every second that you’re not with me, I feel like my heart is getting smaller and it’s harder to breathe. That’s what being in love with someone is, I see that now. You make me complete Tara. I’m only half a person without you. I don’t need magic, I need you, and I don’t love magic, I love you.
All I want is for you to be happy Tara; even if it’s not with me. You deserve to be with someone who won’t hurt you; I hope you find someone who loves you as much as I do. This letter is not my way of trying to get you to come back to me. I understand that’s not going to happen. But this is the only way I can be honest with you.
I love you and I need you. I was put on this Earth to make you happy and to fall in love with you, I know that now. But if you don’t ever want to see me again then that’s ok, because I could die happy knowing that I was loved by you. You’ll never know what an amazing person you are Tara, or how happy you make me. Just hearing your name makes me feel the happiest person alive. Even if we never work things out I will always love you, no matter what happens in our lives. I’ll always be there for you if you need me, and I’ll never hurt you again, I can promise that. I’ll never let you be unhappy or angry if I can help it, and you’ll never be alone.
I’m in love with you and I always will be. You need to know that what happened with the magic is not your fault, it’s mine, and I’ll be sorry for the rest of my life for the pain I caused you. But I want you to know that I’ve given up magic, not just for you, but because I want to. I hope that we can be friends Tara, I love you.

Tara wiped her tears. This was the Willow she had fallen in love with that was writing this letter. Not the Willow who preformed magic, or the Willow who hacked into computers, but Willow herself. She was pouring her heart out to Tara, and she didn’t even expect anything In return.
< I love her so much. She obviously knows she’s done wrong, and she’s giving up magic, this could work out. This will work out. I need to be with her again.>
Tara picked up the phone and dialled the Summer’s phone number.
“Hello.” Willow said as she picked up. Her voice was hoarse from the crying she had done.
“Willow, it’s me.” Tara said.
“Tara?” Willow’s voice sounded instantly happier, almost like her old self.
“Yeah, I got your letter, and…I was wondering if maybe you wanted to go for coffee.”
Willow couldn’t believe what she was hearing, she thought she must be dreaming. Could Tara really be asking her out?
“Yeah, sure, whenever you want Tara, that’d be great.” She replied, trying not to scare Tara with her enthusiasm.
“Great well, I have class this morning, but I could meet you at the Espresso Pump later, about one?” She asked.
“Yeah, great, I’ll be there.” Willow replied.
“Ok, see you then, oh and Willow?” Tara asked.
“Yeah?”
“I love you.” Tara said seriously.
“I love you too.” Willow replied.
~*~*~*~*
This was the start of something, they both knew it. That afternoon they went out for coffee. After Willow had gotten home she had decided to call Tara, but was too nervous. So she opted for some research instead. She was laying reading on her bed when she heard her lovers’ voice.
They got back together that night. Tara helped Willow get over her addiction, and taught her how to respect magic. They were together for two happy years after that until Willow decided that things had to change.
She finally found the courage to propose to her blond haired goddess. Tara, of course, said yes, and they got married. They lived happily together, forever and ever.
The End
