CHAPTER 1 – Trying To Check Lists“Passports?”
“Check.”
“Plane tickets?”
“Hang on, I know I put them somewhere… here they are! Check.”
“Currency exchange thing?”
Tara Maclay couldn’t help but smile at her girlfriend’s way of organising things. Willow Rosenberg, the younger of the couple, was not always tidy but always ready. Tara hadn’t been surprised when, two months before they were due to leave, Willow had printed out a twelve-page plan of what they had to take. At that moment they were in their bedroom in the Summers house, Willow standing in front of the dresser poring over the papers and Tara sitting cross-legged on the bed, two large suitcases in front of her and belongings scattered all over the double bed and rug covering the hardboard floor. She glanced around as Willow called out the item, spotted the strange technical gadget lying underneath her underwear and pulled it out. She stuffed it in their day bag, glanced over at Willow's bowed head and slyly slipped her panties over the short red hair. The young Wiccan looked up, flushed, and took the panties off rather more slowly than someone else might have done. Tara grinned at her cheekily.
“Check.”
“Suitcases?”
Tara laughed. “Oh, c’mon, Will, like we’re going to forget our suitcases. Almost all of the stuff you called out is in the suitcase.”
“Suitcases?” Willow repeated stubbornly, her pen poised on the paper.
“Check.” Tara managed to say through her giggles. “Will, you really do take the biscuit.” She reached forwards, unable to control herself, and grasped the redhead around her waist.
“Now, now, baby, Xander’ll be here in half an hour.” Willow tried to scold, but just staring into Tara’s beautiful blue eyes made her want to melt into her lover’s arms. “Ooh. O-okay.” Tara pressed her lips against Willow’s neck gently, kissing her again and again. “Tara, stop!” Willow burst out finally, a stupid smile spreading from ear to ear. Tara moved her head back so she could look Willow in the eye, and laughed again as she saw the hungry expression on her girlfriend’s face. “Back to the list.” Willow struggled out of Tara’s grasp reluctantly, glancing down at the paper in her hand.
“Toothbrushes?”
“Willow!”
Willow shrugged and tried to look innocent. “It’s just the way I wrote it down. If you’re doubting my techniques…” She trailed off meaningfully and slowly licked her lips. Tara’s gaze fell to those soft, warm, succulent… NO!
“Now see what you made me do.” Tara retorted grumpily, looking down at her cotton blue blouse. The buttons had all been mysteriously undone, how she would never know, and her red lace bra was in full view. “You made me get all undressed.”
Willow lifted her hand tentatively, her fingers itching to touch. “My dear, you brought that upon yourself.”
“Did not!”
“Did too!”
The two women smiled at each other, lighting up their pretty faces. Willow moved her hand closer to Tara’s body, her pulse quickening, reaching greedily to pull off that top and expose those slender, bare shoulders.
“Right, we really need to finish checking off the list.” She said, grasping ahold of the collar and pulling the blouse down. Tara stood still, her own heart thumping with anticipation, cheering herself silently that she had gotten her girlfriend ‘distracted’. “As soon as…” Willow swallowed, feeling a static electricity shoot through her as fingers came to flesh. “Just as soon as…” She bit her lip anxiously, glancing at the silver watch dangling off her wrist. “Xander’ll be here in twenty.”
Tara couldn’t resist. Reaching up with her own arm, she drew her fingers through Willow’s silky soft red hair. Wrong decision, she thought as Willow snapped out of her trance and backed away reluctantly, woken by the movement. Damn.
“Put those breasts away, baby, we got work to do.”
Tara pouted and reluctantly pulled her blouse back over her shoulders.

Tara: No, I-I understand. You have to be with the person you l-love.
Willow: I am.
