Spoilers- The Gift

Disclaimers: Willow/Tara and all the cast of Buffy are the property of Joss Whedon/ Mutant Enemy and FOX/ I make no money from this I just love their creations.

Notes: This is just a small segment of a story I am writing, I have written it as part of a series.

Willow stared out the window at the passing scenery her thoughts a million miles away. She thought of Buffy, her death she thought of Dawn, Buffy's sister all alone now in the world. Her eyes closed for a moment, the hairs on the back on her neck stood up a little. She could feel her girlfriends gaze

on her, she turned to face her.

"You okay." Willow asked seeing the angst in Tara's face.

Tara shook her head; she just looked at Willow struggling to form the words to convey her troubled thoughts.

"Tara please tell me." Willow said her voice showing her concern for her distressed lover. She reached forward and pulled Tara close looking deep into the blonde witches eyes, Willow gently placed her lips on Tara's and kissed her, after a few moments their lips parted. Tara could feel the warmth of Willows love; she looked into Willows eyes seeing the love.

"Whatever it is tell me," Willow pleaded

Tara placed her hand on Willow's leg and gently squeezed, she nodded and took a breath.

"I just can't stop think about how I felt after the fight we had, how much I feared I would lose you." She spoke her voice trembling. "Then Glory found me and I thought I would never see you again." Tara said, tears welling up in her blue eyes.

Willow placed her hand on Tara's face and gently wiped a tear from the wiccans face.

"Go on." Willow said her voice calm and reassuring, her hand moved from Tara's face and she gently took her hand.

"I saw you running towards me, I feared she would hurt you, but by then it was too late, Glory took my mind." Tara weeped openly, her face streaming with tears. "Then I was gone, trapped in my head, afraid, alone."

Willow gently cradled her lover’s head in her lap; she ran her fingers through her hair.

"It's okay Tara, we are safe now Glory's dead." Willow spoke her tone soft and comforting.

"I told Glory didn't I, about Dawn." Tara said, "She found out Dawn was the key from me."

Willow knew this was coming, her fingers gently caressed Tara's soft blond locks.

"Tara, don't torture yourself, it wasn't your fault." She said

"It was my fault Willow, I put you all in danger I nearly got you all killed." Tara said her voice broken with grief and horror at what she had done.

"Tara, listen to me, no one blames you, Buffy knew you couldn't help it, and Dawn blamed herself for everything that happened. We all knew it was Glory's fault not yours." Willow said, "I know this is going to take time but you can't blame yourself."

"I'm sorry Willow, I could have got you killed. In my mind I thought you would just leave me." The Blonde said her voice shaking.

" Tara, I could never leave you. Since we fell in love, my life has been complete. You’re my girl Tara, you’re everything to me." Willow said, "We will always be together, I promise."

Tara nodded, tears welling up in her eyes again.

"I know, I just can't bear being without you."

"You won't be." Willow said smiling.

"I love you Willow" smiled the blonde.

"I love you too Tara." she replied. "Always and forever, you’re my everything"

Willow looked direct into her eyes, her face smiling softly at her lover.

“Tara, why did you blame yourself?” She asked.

“Because I put you in danger.” She answered.

“Don’t say that, as I already said it wasn’t your fault.” Willow said “Glory did this to you. Besides we where able to stop her because of you.”

Tara frowned at Willow her face displaying a look of puzzlement. Willow smiled at her and said.

“Tara, we where able to stop Glory ending it all because of you. You had some kind of connection to her. You led us to the ritual. Thanks to you Buffy was able to stop her, you saved Dawn Tara, and she knows that.” Willow said her eyes showing her sincerity.

“Really.” Tara said a glimmer of hope in her eyes.

“Yes really. If you had not led us to Dawn, we would all be dead now.” Smiled the redhead. “You helped save us all Tara we all love you for that.”

Tara smiled as she took this in as a peace entered her soul, she had helped them after all. Calm returning to her mind for the first time in a long while. “Willow, I’m sorry.” She said, her head raised up a smile upon her face.

Willow leaned forward and kissed Tara with a renewed sense of hope. Her lover had found peace in her troubled mind. Willow was happy that she had reassured her, she hated the fact Tara had tried to blame herself.

Willow returned the smile. “Feel better now.”

“Yes, I do.” Tara said smiling. “How come you always make me feel so special.”

“Magic, Tara just Magic.” Replied Willow.

Willow reached into her pocket and pulled out a tissue, she wiped Tara's face and kissed her. Tara returned the kiss and they embraced not wanting to let go.

Her lover held her tight, Willow was glad that Tara had talked about her ordeal at least she could begin move on. Willow knew however that Tara would still have issues with it, but the fact she had let some of it go she could begin to heal.

Part 2

"Willow, do you want to take the blue shirt as well." Tara called to her girlfriend.

"Yes please,” Replied her lover, "Can you pack me the pink fluffy jumper as well."

"I have already packed that for you." Tara said

"You read my mind, Tara." Said the hacker. "Have you got all you stuff ready?"

"Yes, I have. I have nearly finished getting your clothes together as well." Tara answered.

"You goddess." Willow said standing in the doorway. "What would I do without you." She smiled, beat "Actually I don’t want to find out." She added quickly.

Tara smiled reassuringly at her lover, Willow's heart melted at the sight of the blonde’s sweet smile.

"I love it when you smile like that,” said the redhead. "You should do more often."

"For you, anything." Tara said as she watched the redhead tidy up the dorm room they now shared since Glory had destroyed Tara’s room.

It had been a little over three weeks since Buffy Summers had been laid to rest. Willow had at last partly accepted that her best friend was gone. She was at last beginning to get back to normal, her patented Willow smile was returning and Tara never tired of that. It had been hard for her, Willow had known Buffy for nearly five years and they were best friends. Willow still had bad days but thanks support from her friends and lots of loving care from her girlfriend, she was dealing. Tara herself had recovered from her ordeal, and was coping with memories of the time Glory sucked her mind. Her hand was still bandaged but at least the cast was off. Willow had performed a healing spell, which at least meant that Tara did not need to wear a cast. Although her hand was still swollen where the evil hellgod had crushed it.

The girls had decided to get away from Sunnydale for a long weekend, they needed a little romantic time together, just the two of them alone, and away from the hellmouth. Willow walked over to her lover and helped her shut the case, as Tara's hand injury was still causing her some pain.

"I think we have everything." Willow said. "Don't you?"

"Yes, it’s a good job we are only going for a short break, otherwise we might need a couple of cases." Tara nodded. “I always hate taking too much baggage as it might get lost.”

"Well, in that case at least we will have each other, I think that is enough." Willow said a cheeky grin on her face.

“Oh Willow,” Tara sighed. “Sometimes I don't know what to do with you.”

Willow allowed herself a wry smile, she leaned forward and kissed Tara's cheek she moved to her ear and whispered.

"Willow!" Tara exclaimed her face blushing a deep crimson. After a few moments she composed herself, she attempt to fix Willow with a serious face, which lasted all of two seconds and then she burst into a fit of giggles.

"Naughty little vixen." She grinned.

"Wait till later, I'll show you naughty." Willow giggled.

"I will hold you to that." Tara laughed, she reached forward and pulled Willow to her, she kissed her passionately on the lips. Willow returned the kiss, one hand moving slowly up the front of Tara's blouse. Her touch gently cupped one of Tara's breasts, her fingers gently caressing her through her bra.

"Oh Willow!" Tara moaned.

Willow said nothing, she continued to use her hand to arouse her lover, Tara's good hand moved slowly down Willow's back towards her skirt. She slid her hand in between the material and gently grabbed Willow's petite bum, gently massaging her.

Without warning the door opened and in walked Xander, the two lesbians where oblivious to him as he saw them his jaw dropped.

"Oh god!" He said, “Opps.”

"Shit!" Exclaimed Willow, as she rapidly disengaged herself from her lover. "Xander don't you know to knock on the door before entering." She said angrily. Her face showed her frustration at being interrupted and being discovered.

"Sorry Will, I thought you guy's where ready!" He apologised. "Although you too seem to be ready for something." He grinned.

"Xander shut up!" The redhead said. "Pervert." A tinge of venom in her voice.

Tara clearly looked shocked; her face displayed the horror at being discovered in a passionate moment with her Willow. She sat on the bed and buried her face in her hands.

"Oh my god,” She said her face rapidly turning crimson.

Xander too looked embarrassed at seeing his best friend and her lover in an intimate moment. He tried to compose himself before he spoke.

"I'm Sorry Will, I really am." He paused. "I just thought you guy's were packed and ready for the off." Xander continued clearly feeling a bit of an idiot. "I promise in future I will knock first before bursting in."

"I’m sorry." He said again.

Willow shook her head; she looked at him and saw a genuine look of 'I'm sorry.' across his face. She managed a weak smile. "Okay, you’re forgiven this time but for god's sake knock in future."

"Okay," he said. He walked over to where Tara was sitting and said. "Sorry Tara."

Tara smiled at him, although her face was still a deep red. She had never been so embarrassed in her life. The thought of nearly being caught making love was horrifying to her. Although she was a lot less shy now, and did not mind Willow's public displays of affection, she still lacked some of Willows courage. Alone with Willow however could be a very different matter.

Xander offered her his hand and she took it. He spoke again to reassure her.

"Sorry."

"It's okay." She said.

There were a few moments of uncomfortable silence in the room as they all looked at each other. After a short pause Tara spoke.

"How's Anya?" She asked.

"She a lot better actually thanks." He said.

"Glad to hear it." Said Tara sincerely.

"Thanks Tara." Xander said.

They waited for a few more moments in silence, Willow made the first move; she turned to the bed and picked up the case handing it to Xander. "I guess we had better go." She said.

He took the case from Willow, and walked out of the dorm, Willow took one last look around the room as Tara grabbed her coat from the bed and put it on, she handed the other one to Willow. They followed him out of the room and Tara locked the door behind her.

"Lets go." Willow said. "Xander you okay carrying the case."

"No problem ladies." He said.

They left the dorm and headed down the stairs Willow linked her arm around Tara's and they followed Xander down the hallway.

Xander had managed to get a little ahead of the witches, his thoughts still had images of when he accidentally burst in on the girls. Willow’s hand up Tara’s blouse and Tara with her hand down Willow’s skirt. He shook his head to try and clear the erotic images from his mind. Willow was his best bud and he shouldn’t think about her like that. Besides if Anya found out his Fiancée would kill him, and that given her past history it may not be just a threat. Clearing his mind he decide to try a little small talk.

”So where are you going again?” He asked. He waited for a few moments for a reply when there was no answer he turned around and saw they where a distance behind him.

"Hurry up girls." He Called. “The Xandman is in a hurry and I haven’t got all day to wait for you two slow pokes.” Anya had told him to hurry back once he had dropped the girls off, and he knew what that meant.

"Men!" They said in unison.

"Who needs em." Grinned Willow

"Well we certainly don't." Tara said quietly laughing.

"What are you laughing about, I can feel the witchy mojo on me." Xander said.

"Nothing, we were just talking about a spell." Tara said innocently.

"Naughty Spells" He said a glimmer in his eye.

"No you pervert." Laughed Willow. "Xander do you always have one track mind?"

“No.” He said.

Willow threw him her dubious face and he laughed.

“Maybe a little one tracked then.”

“That’s more like my Xander.” She smirked.

Tara suddenly thought of something and she turned to Xander and spoke.

“Do you think Miss Kitty will be okay with Dawnie and Mr Giles?” She asked.

“Are you kidding, Captain Bookworm and Dawn will have her stuck up a tree in no time.” He grinned. “I’ve already contacted the fire services to be sure.”

Willow looked on in horror. “That had better be a joke Xander.” She said.

Tara said nothing although she threw him a dirty look.

“Just kidding ladies. Dawn is looking forward to taking care of her, and Giles said he will help as well.” He said. “They have promised me that she will be alright.”

Willow simply said. “They had better.”

“Don’t worry you two get away and enjoy yourselves, Miss Kitty will be fine.” He said.

They reached his car and he proceeded to load the suitcase into the trunk. The girls got in the back seat and waited for him to get in, a few moments later and he sat in the car and they drove off towards the Sunnydale Railway station.

Later at the Station.

"Bye Xander, thanks for the lift." Called Willow, as he started to drive away.

"Goodbye and thanks again." Echoed Tara.

They watched as he pulled away and drove off heading back to town, Willow picked up the case and they walked into the Station. Tara had only been there once before and she remembered how small the station was.

"Nervous sweetie." Said Willow. "First proper break we have had in a while. Still at least we will be away from the hellmouth, and all the badness that’s in this town And I think we need a little alone time as well with all that has happened lately." She paused for second. "Oh no! Do you think we have everything, I would hate to have left something behind. Did we?"

"Willow." Tara said softly.

"Yeah."

"You’re babbling." She smiled sweetly at her girlfriend.

"Opps sorry." Willow said sheepishly.

She smiled at Tara, she knew they needed this break badly, after Glory, Tara's mind drain, Buffy's death and everything else, she knew that a break would help clear both their minds. Besides Willow wanted to spend time with her girlfriend, although they had rarely apart from each other they had never been really alone together. With helping to look after Dawn, and with all the preparations for the funeral, they had no real personal time together.

"I have a good feeling about this Willow, I really do." Tara smiled.

"Me too." Willow agreed, "A short break, a chance to be alone with each other. This is going to be so cool."

The girls bought their tickets and boarded the train, first stop LA and then change to get their destination in Wyoming, they sat down side by side and peered out of the window. Tara placed her hand in Willow’s as they waited for the train to pull out of the station. Willow turned to her blonde girlfriend and smiled, Tara returned the smile and she leaned towards the redhead and their lips met in a kiss.

“Happy times to come.” Willow said.

“I'll go along with that.” Tara agreed and gently rested her head on Willow’s shoulder.

A few rows back a Black clothed man had watched the two witches take their seats, a small smile appeared on his face. He had watched them for the past two days silently following their every move. He reached into his pocket and took out his mobile phone, dialling a number he spoke briefly.

"I have sighted our target and her girlfriend. I will advise when to proceed." He said

"Excellent." Came the reply "I will await your next instruction."

"Soon." He said to himself. "So very soon. I will have your very soul, and you Tara McClay will pay for your betrayal."

Part 3 of 7

The girls are getting away for a welcome break after the recent battle, however Tara is going to get an unpleasant surprise.

Rating: PG-13 A little mild swearing

Spoilers- Up to the, The Gift includes Angel Finale as well.

Disclaimers: Willow/Tara and all the cast of Buffy are the property of Joss Whedon/ Mutant Enemy and Fox/ I make no money from writing this I just love their creations. Notes: This story is one of a series I am planning to write. You may also notice a few of my favourite lines from the series creeping in at certain points. Warning this episode ends on a cliff-hanger so be prepared.

Tara had fallen asleep on Willow's shoulder; her soft blonde hair lay across her girlfriend’s face. The gentle rocking motion of the train had sent her peacefully into dreamland. Willow just sat there watching the open scenery pass her by, she slowly moved her head so as not to disturb her sleeping lover. She smiled as she watched Tara's chest gently rise and fall as she breathed.

'She looks so peaceful' Thought Willow. She had often watched Tara sleep at night, just lying there as she breathed in and out. Sometimes Willow could swear that Tara glowed as she slept, she looked so beautiful.

"I love you Tara." She whispered.

Willow turned her head back to the window; she blinked as the flickering fading sunlight flashed across her face. She turned away sharply; Tara stirred waking up from her slumber.

'Damn, I woke her up' Willow thought.

"Hey, sleepy." She said, hoping Tara wasn't mad at her. "Sorry I woke you honey."

Tara blinked and yawned as she woke up, she turned to face her lover, a shy smile across her face, and Willow never tired of seeing Tara’s sweet smile.

"Hey." Tara said, "It's okay, I was just resting my eyes. What is the time anyway?" She asked.

"It's a little after 4pm." Replied Willow.

"We still have hours to go before we reach Yellowstone." Tara said, her voice sounding a little disappointed.

"Maybe we could find a little something to do in the meantime." Suggested Willow, a naughty glint in her eye.

"Willow!" Tara said, "There are other people on this train."

"So, lets give em something to watch." She giggled.

Tara's face went red, she certainly hoped her girlfriend was kidding, Willow sometimes went a little over the top. She looked her in the eye; Willow was trying hard now to look serious. She failed and promptly burst in giggles.

"Just kidding Tara, I’m not that kinky." Willow said still giggling. "Besides Xander isn't here and we know he likes to watch."

"Oh god, please I still can't believe he nearly caught us." Said the red-faced blonde.

"Sometimes I think Xander has a knack for this sort of thing, I bet he heard us out side the dorm and waited until we where,” She paused. "You know at it. And then he decided to burst in." Willow said.

"I hope not." Said Tara.

Willow sat up faced her girlfriend she grinned at her and said. "Let’s forget about it anyway. I bet him and Anya are at it right now."

"That's a horrible thought." Tara said, as a disturbing image flashed through her mind. "Let’s change the subject anyway."

"Good idea." Agreed the hacker. "Besides we are going to have fun, and nothing is going to stop that."

"Damn right." Agreed Tara softly.

Willow smiled at her lover, she still needed to work a bit on her spicy talk but points for effort.

******

The man had moved a little closer to the girls, in order to keep closer tabs on the blonde one. They could not see him very well, but he could watch their every move. He looked at his watch, the train should be stopping soon and that would be the best time to make the move. He regarded the blonde with hatred, she had gone too far and she had to be brought into line.

After what had happened recently, and after the pain and bitterness she had caused him and his family he badly wanted to bring her down. Those damn friends of hers as well were nothing but trouble. Buffy Summers name sprang to mind, he dismissed it as he had found out that she was dead. It was this Willow Rosenberg that he hated the most. She had stolen her away from them and that he could not forgive.

"If I kill Willow, that will be a good punishment for her." He smiled. "Yes, I will have to get rid of her."

He reached for his phone again dialling the number again; he waited for someone to answer.

"Hello."

"It's me, we should be stopping in an hour, we must be prepared. But I want to kill the redheaded Witch." He said

"We can't kill her I won't go along with that, once we have Tara, she will suffer enough." Said the voice.

"Why, she is the reason Tara betrayed us." He spoke.

"I don't care, I won't support murder." The person said. "Just get Tara, and that's all."

Defeated he agreed.

"Fine I'll get Tara, you just be ready."

With that he hung up, he so wanted to hurt Willow, but it was true kidnapping Tara would hurt her and she was only a simple witch so what could she do to them.

*******

Willow and Tara had both fallen asleep in their seats; Willow lay against the edge of the seat resting on the comfy headrest. Tara had her head in Willow's lap; her face displayed a tranquil calm. They where soon awakened as a man with a trolley disturbed their slumber.

"Drinks, snacks." He asked the two girls.

Tara sat up and stretched, she looked at the trolley and asked for a coke, she handed him the money and Tara thanked him. Willow shook her head and said.

"No thanks, I'm okay."

He nodded and moved on, Willow turned to Tara.

"He woke us up and I was enjoying a pleasant dream." She said.

"Oh! Was I in your dream?" Tara asked a shy smile on her face.

"Yes, you where." Answered Willow grinning.

"Was it romantic?"

"Nope!"

Tara frowned and pouted, Willow simply giggled and said nothing. Although she had a certain look in her eye, and Tara knew that look all to well.

"Willow, was it a naughty dream?" She asked trying her best to put on a serious face.

Willow shrugged her shoulders; she was enjoying teasing her girlfriend, although she was struggling to keep herself from laughing.

"Oh god, Willow please tell me." Tara pleaded.

"Nope, you're just going to have to wait until we reach the hotel, then I'll show you." Willow said, a wicked grin across her face

"Willow, you are such a tease." Tara said. "Just promise you will."

Willow reached for Tara's drink and opened it, taking a swig she handed the can back to her lover.

"Hey, that was mine." Tara said

"Share and Share alike." Willow said innocently.

Tara laughed and drank some of the liquid, she was thirsty and her throat was dry. She handed the can back to Willow who took it and drank a little more.

"That's better." Willow said. "Thanks." She passed it back to Tara.

Tara finished the can and set it down beside her, she looked at her watch and turned to Willow.

"We still have a while before we arrive." Tara said. "It's a shame I forgot to bring a book."

"I think we will be stopping soon anyway." Willow reached for the timetable in her coat pocket. Examining it she traced her finger along the route she turned back to face Tara. "Yep, we gotta stop coming up soon."

*******

He readied himself, it was almost time to put the plan into action soon the train would stop and he would be able to capture Tara. He got up and walked back towards the rear of the carriage. He met up with the other person with whom he had spoken to on the phone. He greeted the blonde woman with a hug; she smiled at him and spoke.

"Are we ready?" She said

"Yes, all we need is for one of them to get up and then we can strike." He answered.

"Good, I have the hypo ready." She said.

"Let’s get set." He agreed.

*******

Tara, stood and looked down to where Willow was sitting smiling at her love she spoke.

"Willow."

"Yes, sweetie." Willow said returning the blonde wiccans smile.

"Um, I need to go to the bathroom." She said. "I'll be back in minute."

"Okay, do you want me to hold your hand." Willow grinned.

Tara laughed, "I think I can manage."

With that she leaned down and kissed her hacker on the head. Tara turned around and walked towards the toilet, she turned her thoughts to her lover, Willow as definitely getting back to normal again. With her cheeky comments and innuendo’s, Tara felt like the past few weeks had never happened. Her smile faded as she remembered Buffy's death, she shook her head and cleared her mind.

"Only happy thoughts." She said to herself.

She stopped when a dark clad figure blocked her path; she did not look up.

“Excuse me please.” She said.

The man did not move so Tara raised her head and looked at him, her face registered shock as she recognised him.

“W-W- What are you doing here?” She stammered.

“I’ve come for you Tara.” He said.

Donny Maclay smirked at her, he reached forward and placed his hand around her mouth, his other arm grabbed her arm. “You’re coming with me you stupid bitch, I’m taking you back to your family.” He turned his head to the figure behind him. “Now!”

Tara’s eyes widened as she recognised her cousin Beth, Donny moved forward and brought her arm up, and Beth produced a hypo she quickly pressed the needle into Tara’s arm and depressed the plunger. Tara quickly sank into unconsciousness her last thoughts before she blacked out screamed ‘Willow.’

Donny smiled as her watched his sister drop to the deck; he bent down and picked her up cradling her in his arms. Beth turned to him.

“We are pulling into the station now, I’ll open the doors and then we can get out of here before her girlfriend finds out. She said.

They waited as the train began to slow down as the station platform came into view.

*********

Willow, looked at her watch wondering where her girlfriend had gone, although Tara had not been away for long, Willow did tend to worry about her lover. She stood up, suddenly without warning a slight dizziness came over her. She heard a voice in her mind call her name, ‘Willow’ it said. Willow knew the voice of her lover straight away and she sensed the fear in Tara’s thoughts.

“Oh my god, Tara.”

With that she turned in the direction Tara had went and ran after her. She reached the area and saw her faces of Tara’s brother and her cousin, Donny held the limp form of his sister in his arms. He saw the redhead running towards him and he prepared his foot for action. Willow pushed open the door and she screamed at them.

“Let her go you bastards.”

With that he kicked his out foot which connected with the door, it swung violently in the direction of Tara’s lover and hit her square in the face. Willow fell to the floor dazed and semi conscious; she hardly noticed the train stop and the carriage door open. Stunned she tried to stand up but found that she could not, Willow sank back onto the floor again pain wracking her small body.

Beth had opened the door and Donny followed her carrying the unconscious form of his sister, she slammed the door behind her.

“Let’s move.” She said.

He walked towards the station exit, but was stopped by a guard. “Is she alright?” He asked. “Do you want me to call an ambulance.”

“No.” He said. “It’s just my sister she has fainted, she just needs a little air.”

Beth turned to the man and added. “Don’t worry we can manage, she does this a lot.” She said smiling at the guard. They ignored him and walked out of the station; Donny sat Tara’s body down and waited as Beth hailed a cab. He turned to her.

“What are you doing.” He asked.

“I’m getting a cab, so we can get to a hotel.” She answered.

“Why. We have to get Tara back home now.” He said.

“Dammit Donny think, we don’t have the camper van here, we need to get to a hotel and then I will phone your father and he can pick us up.” She said.

He nodded and looked at his cousin he smirked at her. The cab arrived, and Donny carefully placed the unconscious form of his sister in the back. Beth got in beside Tara and spoke to the cab driver.

“Take us to the nearest hotel now.” She said.

“No problem, hey is she okay?” He asked pointing to Tara.

“Yes she is, just please get us to a hotel now.” Donny said, a touch of impatience in his voice.

The cab driver turned around and started the engine, he checked his passengers where secure and drove off towards the town. Donny turned his head towards the station to see if Tara’s girlfriend had followed them. He smiled to himself, as he could see no sign of the redheaded witch.

**********

Willow, had managed to get up, her head still hurt from where the door had struck her, she looked out of the window for any sign of Tara or her kidnappers. She thanked Thespia that the train was still in the station and opened the door. Willow ran to the station exit hoping to see them, her heart sank, as she could see no one around. She fell to ground tears welling up from within, there was no sign of Tara anywhere.

“Tara.” She said “Oh god no.” Willow held her head in her hands she began to cry, Tara was lost to her once more.

Part 4

"Tara, oh god no." Willow said, her eyes filled with tears. "I will find you, I have to find you."

Willow gathered herself together and set off in the direction that she knew Donny and Beth had left. They could not have gone far, they had no car so they had to be nearby. She closed her eyes and focused her mind on her lover. She knew that they had to have got a taxi into the town centre.

'Where are you?' She thought.

Willow stayed that way for a few moments and then her eyes snapped open. She could see Tara in her mind; she was in a hotel room. If I can stay focused on her then I will find her, with that she hailed a taxi.

“Where to miss?” He asked

“Where are most of the hotels?” She asked.

“In the West End of the town love.” He said.

“Quickly, take me there.”

With that the taxi left the station behind and headed in the direction of the town, Willow thought to herself. ‘Hurry up Goddammit, my girlfriend is in danger and I have to find her.’ She thought. Wiping a tear from her face, she prayed to Thespia that Tara was okay.

******

Tara awoke in the hotel bedroom; she had one hell of a headache her eyes hurting from the bright lights in the hotel room. Blinking her eyes a few times they gradually adjusted to the glare in the room. She slowly recognised her brother and cousin staring at her.

Donny regarded her with contempt, fixing her with an evil glare, hatred barely contained within his face. Her cousin did not seem quite so harsh but she could tell that there was no love in her eyes. Donny faced his sister and spoke.

"Well sis, where's you girlfriend now huh." Donny Smirked. "She will never see you again. I'm taking you home where you belong."

"He's right Tara, you belong at home with us, not practising magic that witch." Beth added.

Beth looked at Tara and spoke again. "Sorry for the rope, but I don't want you getting away from us." She tried to smile at her but Tara looked away.

"Nothing to say sis." Donny said "Don't you have anything to say to your brother."

Tara turned her head away from him; she did not want to look at his face. She quietly lay there and turned her thoughts to Willow.

'Oh Willow where are you?' Tara concentrated and tried to focus on her lover, maybe she could reach her mind and let her know were she was.

Donny reached out and slapped his sister hard around the face; she visibly recoiled from the impact. Tears welling up she tried hard to suppress them, Tara noticed Beth flinched at the slap

He shouted "I owe you that for last year."

"Donny, was that really necessary." Beth said a touch of concern in her voice.

"Yes, she turned us away last year, so damn right she deserved that." He replied angrily.

Tara fighting back the tears closed her eyes and reached out again with her mind.

'Willow, help me’ She called.

******

It did not take long for the Taxi to reach the town, she was dropped off in the middle of the place the cab driver had said where the most of the hotels where. Willow looked around and shook her head; she spotted a hotel over the road and started to run towards it. She suddenly paused as she felt a pain hit her across her cheek.

"Ow! What the fricking hell was that." She said looking around to see what had caused the pain. Willow couldn’t see anything and nobody had been close enough to hit her. She suddenly felt dizzy as she heard a voice in her head.

'Willow, help me’ The voice called.

"Tara, oh god, where are you." Willow called. She looked around but could only see passers-by and they ignored her. She closed her eyes and concentrated on the voice she had heard.

'Willow I'm here' called the voice, Willow knew it was Tara calling out to her. Willow opened her eyes and whispered.

"Goddess of light, show me the way to my hearts one true love." She spoke. "Lead me to her by your guiding light."

Willow opened her eyes and looked around; a dark mist seemed to cover much of the town, as she continued to move her head one street appeared to glow. Willow smiled to herself only she could she the mist and the glowing street, the magic had altered her perception so that she could see her way to Tara.

"Bingo." She said. "Tara hold on sweetie, I'm coming."

With that Willow set off in the direction of the glowing street, praying that she would find Tara quickly.

******

Tara sat up on the bed, she faced Beth, Donny had left them a few moments ago to get them something to eat. She hoped he would be a while, Tara had felt a little rage burn inside of her after Donny had struck her, but she managed to surpress it.

Tara spoke, "Why? Beth why go through all this to get to me?"

"Because we are your family Tara, not those freaks in Sunnydale. You're family needs you back at the house." She said. "Your father and brother can’t be expected to look after everything by themselves, you belong to us."

"Dad lied to me Beth, he said I was a demon when I wasn't. You aren’t my family anymore, I have a new family now." Tara said thinking of Willow and the gang.

"Bullshit!" Beth exclaimed. "You call that a family,"

"They’re my real family now and at least they love me for who I am." Tara said. "I am happy there and I am in love. Which is more than I can say for you.” She added.

Beth said nothing Tara’s comments had hurt her, she herself had never really known love although she had a few boyfriends in the past it was nothing that could be called love. For that she was jealous of her cousin, Tara at least knew what true love was, she didn’t.

Both girls where startled as the door opened, Donny had returned with something to eat from the fast food restaurant. He handed the package to Beth.

"Get something to eat, we have a long trip ahead." He said. "I'll contact dad soon and he can get out here and pick us up."

Beth reached into the bag and took out a burger and unwrapped it, she reached her arm out to Tara and offered a bite to her. Tara turned away ignoring her, Donny immediately became angry.

"Eat it!" He shouted.

Tara shook her head; she lowered her head not wanting to see his face.

"Tara, eat this or I will beat you!" He said his voice showing his anger.

"No." Tara said simply she knew what his next action would be and she braced herself. Her mind opened up, a spell forming in her thoughts, she was suddenly interrupted as a sensed her brother over her. Donny pulled his hand back in preparation to hit his sister, Tara's head snapped up and she glared at him and spoke.

"Bind my will, and turn thy anger against thyself." She said.

Donny's hand suddenly moved away from Tara's face and he missed her, his hand carried on round and he struck himself hard across the face. He was taken aback by this, he had forgotten that his sister was a witch. He raised his hand again poised to strike her.

Tara closed her eyes and whispered the words again; she smiled as Donny's hand once again struck him hard. This time he fell to the floor stunned by the impact. He lay there groggy, unable to move. Beth reached for another hypo that lay on the desk beside her.

Tara turned to her and despite her hands being tied, she motioned with her hand and the needle flew at Beth, lodging in her neck. Beth collapsed unconscious in an instant, Tara made her move she concentrated on the ropes, which held her and after a few seconds they fell away. Tara stood up, still a little headachy from being injected earlier. Stepping over her unconscious cousin and the dazed form of her brother, she ran out of the room and made her way quickly out of the hotel.

*******

Willow, ran down the street still following the glowing path before her, she reached out with her mind and called to her lover.

'Tara, give me a clue I can sense that you’re nearby, please give me a sign.' She pleaded; she hoped and prayed again to Thespia that Tara was safe. Willow could not bear to think of a life without her lover, she was everything in the world to her. Now Buffy was gone, Willow had a huge hole in her life. Although Tara was already a huge part of her life, she needed her even more now.

"I love you Tara." She said aloud.

She reached a junction in the street, looking around she could see the way that she hoped would lead her to Tara. As before, Willow paused when she felt a slight wave of dizziness hit her.

'Willow, I have got away from them, please help me to find you’ She heard her lover say in her head.

'Tara, I'm at the corner of the Western End Street. There is a tall mirrored building in front of me.' She said in her mind, hoping Tara could hear her thoughts.

'I see it, stay there I will find you.' Came the reply.

With that Willow allowed herself smile, Tara was safe and she was coming to find her. Her eyes closed and she keep her mind focused on her love, Willow could feel her girlfriend's presence, she was closer now.

"Tara!" She shouted as loud as she could, "Tara!" Willow grew more agitated as the seconds ticked by, but still she could not see her lover.

"Willow!" Called a voice the redhead knew all to well.

Willow turned in the direction of the voice to she a blonde girl running towards her, she heart skipped a beat as she saw her girlfriend. She ran towards her tears streaming from her eyes.

"Tara, oh goddess, Tara." She said.

Tara reached her lover and they embraced, although it had only been a few hours since they had last been in each others arms, it had felt like an eternity. Willow covered her lover’s face in kisses; she could hardly contain her happiness knowing that Tara was safe. Tara cried with joy, her love was here and they reunited once more. Nothing could break that link to each other, Willow vowed that they would never be apart from each other again.

"Oh Willow, I am so glad to see you. I knew you were coming for me I could sense you nearby." Tara said, tears still streaming from her face.

"Tara, I promised I would never lose you, I can always find you my love no matter where you are." Willow said her heart singing with joy. "I love you so much Tara."

"I love you too Willow. I will always love you." Tara said her voice still filled with emotion, she was back with her girlfriend at last. They stayed like that for several minutes afraid to let go of each other. Willow gently broke the loving embrace.

"Were are they?" Willow asked

"I-I left them in the hotel, I think Beth is still unconscious, although Donny will be coming after me." Tara said.

"I think we should get out of here, before he finds us." Willow said looking around.

"No." Tara said calmly. "They need to be shown a lesson."

"Magic." Willow inquired.

"A little, but not to hurt them.." Tara said. "They hurt me Willow, but I couldn't take revenge." She added.

Willow, thought to herself 'I did once' she mused remembering the time she went after Glory. She shuddered at the use of that dark magic; she had hurt Glory in revenge for her mind suck on Tara. 'Never again' she thought. 'I never want to dabble in that again.'

"I know." She nodded "Okay what shall we do?" Willow asked.

"I have an idea." The Blonde smiled.

******

Donny had managed to get up, his face still hurt from the impact of his own hand. He looked at his cousin lying on the floor a needle still lodged in her neck; he turned to the bed and saw the empty ropes.

"Shit, she escaped." He said. "I had better find her, before she runs to that witch girlfriend of hers."

He knelt down to his unconscious cousin; she would be out for a little while longer. He stood up again and turned towards the door, he walked towards the open door way. He walked into an invisible wall banging his nose against the unseen barricade.

"What the hell is this." He said surprised.

His eyes widened as he realised it must be his sister using and she must be out for a little revenge. He knew she was a witch but he didn't know how powerful she was. He began to panic; if she could throw up a barrier against him there was no telling what else she could do.

Suddenly the lights turned off and back on again, he tried to break through the door again but he failed, the invisible wall was still up.

"Damn witch." He said, his voice now tinged with fear. He looked again at his cousin, bending down to her, her shook her trying to wake her up.

"For god's sake Beth wake up, we have to get out of here. That damn sister of mine is really pissed off." He shouted at her.

"You're damn right, I'm pissed off." Came a voice from beyond the barrier. Donny turned to the door and there stood his sister her eyes white, he began to tremble with fear. Tara pointed at him and said.

"I owe you, embarrassment." She made a slight motion with her hand and his pants split apart, revealing his underwear. Tara allowed herself a smile; this was going to be fun. Donny, rapidly turned a bright shade of red, as he tried to cover himself this was a nightmare. He turned towards his sister and pleaded.

"Tara please stop this, I'm sorry." He said, although he did not really mean the sorry part. He then noticed a figure step out from behind Tara and his jaw fell, it was Tara's girlfriend Willow.

Willow took one of Tara's hands and they began to chant something he couldn’t understand a word of. As they spoke a wind began to whip up around him; the lights in the room continued to flash in strobing manner. Total fear now gripped him as realised that these two girls had the power to harm or perhaps even kill him.

Beth had begun to come round; she groggily awoke in the middle of the maelstrom around them. She saw Tara and her lover in the doorway, she guessed they had come for a little payback. The wind howled around her as she tried to stand up, she saw Donny desperately trying to cover himself.

"Tara please." She screamed above the noise and wind. "Stop this, I did not mean to hurt you." She pleaded. "Donny for god's sake say you’re sorry."

Donny grabbed onto the door to steady himself, this was becoming too much for him, and the combined spell from the witches had him beat, he fell to the floor terror showing in his eyes. He looked up to see Willow and Tara continue to chant, suddenly the rope that had held Tara snaked up and wound itself around his body.

"Tara, stop please I can't take this anymore, what must I do to make you stop." He said tears filling his eyes. "Please I'll do anything."

The other rope, which had secured Tara’s feet now, bound Beth's arms together, she too was crying with fear. She knew that they had made a terrible mistake, both Donny and herself thought Tara was a very weak witch. Evidently they where wrong, Tara was powerful and when joined with Willow their combined power was awesome.

"Tara, no more, I'm sorry we hurt you, just stop this now please." Beth said through her tears.

Donny, his spirit crushed once more pleaded with his sister to stop. "Tara, I'm sorry, please let me go." He said. "I promise I'll leave you alone."

Suddenly without warning the storm in the room died, the wind ceased and the ropes that secured Beth and Donny fell away. All was calm again Willow and Tara entered the room as the barrier had disappeared, they looked down and Tara's relatives.

"Let that be a warning, if you ever attempt to kidnap me or hurt my Willow, I will not be so nice next time." Tara said. "I suggest you get out of here now, both of you."

"I-I-I'm going," Donny said. "You won't see me again I promise." With that he pickup the tattered remains of his pants and ran out of the room.

Tara watched him leave she had a feeling that he would not show his face again. She turned to Beth and glared at her, Beth looked at her cousin and then to Willow seeing the look on their faces she stood up and walked to the door. She stopped for a moment and turned to face Tara.

"I'm sorry." She said.

"Just go!" Tara said.

Beth nodded and left the room. Willow turned to Tara and smiled, Tara looked around the room and said.

"I-I Think we made a bit of mess, let's get out of here."

Willow nodded. "That was fun, but don't you think we should have punished them a little more?"

Tara turned to Willow and said. "No, I did not want to hurt them, I could never use magic to hurt someone, I just wanted to scare them."

Willow nodded, she knew her lover was right, using magic for revenge did not always work. She remembered the fight with Glory and how it nearly got her killed.

"I understand Tara." Willow said.

"Good, anyway lets go." Tara said. They left the room and the hotel

It was late now and they decided they had better find a place to stay the night, the hotel Tara had been held captive in was pretty seedy and the girls wanted a decent room to stay in. It did not take them long to find a more upmarket hotel; they booked themselves a room with a bathroom and decent bed. Willow paid for the room and they made their way up the stairs. She stopped when she realised that they had a problem.

"Oh shit." Said Willow. "I left the suitcase on the train."

Tara looked at Willow. "Willow you mean our clothes, are on the way to Wyoming, oh goddess."

Willow suddenly laughed and she remembered that having Tara back was far more important that clothing. "So what, at least we are together Tara, we have each other." She grinned.

Tara smiled, but she was a little concerned. "Willow, we have nothing else to wear, we only have the clothes we are wearing.”

"That’s fine, because what I have in mind doesn't need clothes." Willow said, a cheeky smile on her face.

"Willow!" Tara said, and she too began to giggle. "Oh Willow, I love you." She pulled the redhead close. Tara kissed her passionately on the lips, Willow responded to the kiss by probing her lovers mouth with her tongue. They remained like that until oxygen had become an issue for both of them.

“Tara, lets not ever be apart again huh.” Willow said once she had got her breath back. “I love you too much. I just can’t stand the thought of you being away from me.”

"Oh Willow, I never want to apart from you. I love you, besides I think something happened between us, whilst I was held prisoner, I could sense you in my mind.” Tara said, remembering Willow’s voice in her head.

"I know I could feel you in my mind as well." Smiled Willow. She suddenly grinned and said. “I guess I will just have to feel you again. This time with my hands.”

“Oh Willow,” Tara said noticing the look on her lover’s face.

They embraced once more, lips meeting in another passionate kiss, Willow's hand began to creep once more towards Tara's breasts, Tara pulled away for a moment leaving a puzzled look on her lovers face.

"Tara?" She asked.

"Willow, we are standing in the middle of the hallway, I think we had better get into our room first." Tara said smiling at her lover.

"Opps." Willow said noticing her surroundings. They made their way to the room. Willow quickly opened the door and rushed inside pulling her lover with her. Tara motioned with her hand and the door shut and locked behind her. Willow reached for Tara's hand and pulled her close, she looked at her lover and smiled.

"Tara, just promise me one thing." Willow said

"Anything my sweet." Tara replied.

"Stay with me forever." Willow asked.

"Willow, I could never leave you, I love you with all my heart and soul." Tara smiled at her.

"I love you too." Willow said returning her girlfriends smile.

Tara kissed her gently on the lips. "Now what?" She Asked.

Willow leaned forward and whispered in Tara's ear, her tongue gently caressing her girlfriends ear.

"Oh Willow, I think I can live with that." Tara said softly, a broad smile across her face.

Willow grinned and pulled Tara onto the bed, she had promised her lover a night of passion that neither of them would forget. And that was one promise Tara was looking forward to being fulfilled.

Part 5

The early morning sun shone through the curtains of the hotel room, it's light illuminating a corner of the darkened room. Willow had not long woken up; she lay there just watching the sleeping figure next to her. A smile crept across her face; her lover was still fast asleep, Tara’s face half mashed against the pillow. Willow smile broadened at the sight of her beautiful blonde girlfriend.

'She looks so sweet.' Willow thought. 'So beautiful, my precious Tara.'

They had made love the previous night with a renewed sense of passion and love for one another. They had reached new heights of pleasure as they used their hands and tongues to great effect on one another. The thoughts aroused the redhead and she felt a warm glow flow through her body.

She glanced the bedside table reaching for her watch, glancing at the time she thought. 'It's only a little after eight. Plenty of time for snuggles.' She allowed a grin to creep across her face. Willow replaced the watch and she turned back to face her sleeping girlfriend.

"I love you Tara." She whispered to the blonde. "With all my heart and all my soul, I will love you forever." Willow paused for a moment and then continued to whisper to her sleeping lover. "Tara, I can't ever lose you again, I just couldn't go on without you." Willow sighed, and she thought to herself. 'I think there's something I need to do.' With that thought Willow made a decision.

Willow leaned over and gently placed a kiss on her lover’s forehead, she checked to see if she had awakened her girlfriend. Willow smiled softly as she noticed that Tara remained asleep. Her face making small twitching movements, Willow loved the way Tara's nose wrinkled as she slept, she smiled and wondered at what Tara was dreaming. Willows thoughts were interrupted as she noticed her blonde next to her begin to stir awake.

Tara opened her eyes to see her smiling lover; she leaned forward and kissed the redhead on the lips.

"Good morning sleepy." Willow said. "I hope I didn't wake you."

"Morning Willow, I don't mind you waking me but only if I can wake up to see you every day." Tara smiled sweetly.

"I think that could be arranged." Her lover said grinning.

Their lips met once more in a kiss, Willow savouring the taste of her girlfriend moved closer to feel the warmth of her lover’s body. The redhead placed one hand on Tara's hip and slowly moved her hand up towards Tara's breasts, slowly caressing every inch of the blonde wiccans body. Tara moaned as she felt Willow's hand cup her breast. She responded by moving her hands over Willows breasts, gently caressing the soft flesh.

"Oh Goddess. Moaned Willow. The redhead decided on how best to respond to her lovers touch. She pressed closer to the blonde and moved her hands southward.

"OH WILLOW!" Tara Exclaimed.

********

A little while later the two girls had showered and dressed, they had only the clothes they had arrived in town with. Their suitcase was in another state by now, they had decided to get some breakfast first and then buy some new clothes.

Willow knew they had lost almost everything during the run in with Tara's family, but at least she hadn't lost Tara. Willow walked up behind her lover and wrapped her arms around her. Tara smiled at the embrace; she loved the feeling of her lover’s touch around her.

"Sweetie, what shall we do?" Tara asked her girlfriend.

Willow looked at her a little puzzled. "I thought we decided to get some brekky and then go buy some clothes."

"Not that, I meant about our trip to Yellowstone, I-I really wanted to see it." Tara said. "I dreamt about seeing the park when I was young." She added.

"Oh! Well we could still go Tara, but we won't be able to stay long." Willow said, "We have to head back a few days."

Willow turned to face her girlfriend, seeing the slight disappointment in Tara's face she gently kissed her and smiled. Willow reached up and ran her hand through her lover’s hair and then caressed her cheek.

"Tara, I know you're a little sad, but we have to get back for Dawnie, Giles has been ordered back to England for a couple of weeks. And we need to be there for her." Willow said smiling. "Once he returns I promise we'll go, Okay."

Tara drew Willow to her and hugged her tight; she looked into Willow's deep green eyes. And smiled at the redhead.

"Thanks Willow, have I told you how much you make me feel so special." Tara said.

"Yep you have, but I like hearing it." Willow giggled. She looked at her watch and said. "Anyway lets go get something to eat I'm starving, all that sex last night has left me a little hungry."

"Hungry for more sex?" Tara said bursting into giggles.

"No silly." Willow said. "Well maybe later. Come on Tara lets get breakfast and then we can go shopping, I wanna see what they have in this quaint little town."

Willow took Tara by the hand and led to the door, they closed it behind them and they went downstairs to grab some food, before they went out and gave their credit cards a little exercise.

*************

The two wiccans sat at the table finishing their eggs and toast; Willow had finished and was now watching her girlfriend eat. Tara was struggling a little, as her hand was still a little sore from where it had been crushed. Willow reached out and touched Tara's arm.

"You okay?" She asked, a note of concern in her voice.

"I'm fine Willow really." Tara replied. "It doesn't hurt much, but I think we had better change the bandage, this one is a little dirty." She added smiling.

"Okay." Said the redhead, she smiled and decided to put phase one of her plan into action. "Tara, I have an idea for tonight, why don't we go out to a restaurant tonight. You know a real romantic date, with just us and a few candles." Willow beamed.

"Willow, what's brought this on?" Tara asked,

"Can't we just go out on date, huh?" Willow said, taking Tara by the hand. "We haven't done that in a looong while." She continued gently caressing Tara's hand with her thumb. "I love you Tara, please can't we just do this." She pleaded.

Willow put on her best pout and sad puppy dog look, Tara took one look and her heart melted. She leaned forward and kissed the redhead on the lips.

"Oh Willow, when you look at me like that how could I refuse." Tara smiled at her. "Of course it's a date."

"Good, now I guess we had better finish breakfast and go shopping, we both need something to wear tonight." Willow said. "I want this to be a special night, Tara because you're special."

Tara was a little choked at this and a single tear rolled down her cheek, she reached out and gently ran her hand down Willow's face. She then leaned forward and planted a passionate kiss on her lips. After a few moments they broke the kiss, Willow stood up and took Tara's hand.

"Come on, let’s go." She said.

Tara nodded and got up, Willow led her out of the dining area and they walked out of the hotel into the bright sunshine.

***************

A little later

"Ooooh try this one on, I really like the colour it kinda matches your eyes." Willow said excitedly. "Or maybe this one, Nah I don't like the pattern. Oh this suits you as well, whadda think huh?” Turning to see another one on the rack she said. “Oh my god look at the pattern on that dress it is so yucky."

Tara grinned at her lover, it had a while since she had seen Willow so excited and she admitted it was fun to watch her. The redhead had been babbling now for nearly an hour.

"Oh Tara you have to try this one on please, I think it so beautiful." Willow beamed. She held up a pale blue dress with a spiral print on. "Please." She asked.

"Okay honey, slow down a little you're babbling." Tara smiled sweetly at her girlfriend. She looked at the dress and said. "I do like the colour."

Willow looked sheepishly at Tara; she did tend to switch into babble mode when she was excited. "What do think of my choice?" She asked the blonde, holding a pink printed dress.

"It's beautiful Willow, I love it." Tara said. "You are going to look so gorgeous in that."

"Really!" Willow said.

"Yes, really." Tara said. She kissed her on the cheek. "It's perfect Willow."

"Oh good, I want to look special for you tonight." She said.

"Willow, you look special in anything, even nude." Tara said and then blushed when she realised that the sales assistant was standing next to her. "Opps." She said looking away.

Willow giggled at her girlfriend, she turned to the assistant smiling. "Were lovers." She said helpfully.

The assistant nodded and smiled at them. "I guessed as much." She said. "Been together long?" She asked. "If you don't mind me asking."

"A little over a year now, and we are very happy together." Willow said proudly. "She is everything to me."

Tara looked at Willow and smiled, she turned to the assistant and said. "I love her very much."

This did not faze the girl at all and she smiled at them, "I can see that."

Willow handed the blue print dress to Tara and motioned her to the changing room. Tara nodded and took the dress and left to go and try it on, Willow watched her go and turned to the Assistant.

"Is there a jewellers in the town?" She asked.

"Yes, it just over there near that bookstore." She said pointing across the ro

"Yes, it just over there near that bookstore." She said pointing across the road.

"Thanks, can you keep Tara here for a little bit, I have something I need to do?" Willow asked her.

"No problem." She said.

"Thanks, I'll be back soon I promise, and tell her I've something at the hotel." Willow said. She handed the dress to the assistant and quickly ran out the store.

A few minutes later Tara returned from the changing room wearing the dress that Willow had chosen for her. She saw the assistant standing there but she couldn't see her girlfriend anywhere.

"Um, do you know where she went?" Tara asked.

"Yeah, she just went back to the hotel, she'll be back shortly she asked that you wait here for her." The girl said.

"Thanks, I hope she like this dress." Tara said.

"I does look good on you, matches your eyes."

-=-=-=-=-

About half and hour later Willow returned to find Tara chatting to the assistant. As she approached them she heard Tara say.

"I love Willow with all my heart, I never want to lose her."

Willow stopped for a second, she felt a tear well up, and it made her heart sing to hear Tara say that she loved Willow to a total stranger. Wiping the tears she walked towards her lover.

"Wow, Tara you look beautiful." Willow said admiring her girlfriend.

"Thank you, you like it." Tara said doing a little twirl.

"Like it, I love it on you." Willow said.

They paid for the dresses and left the shop hand in hand, this was great they had both bought a dress each, plus a couple of pairs of jeans and tops. Willow always liked Tara in jeans, it showed off her rear nicely and Willow admitted to herself that her girlfriends bottom was very sexy. She made a mental note to get a photo of Taras butt in jeans at some point.

Willow placed her free hand in her jacket pocket, she felt for the small box she had bought earlier. Her hand touched it and Willow breath silently to herself. 'Thank god it's safe. I don't want to lose this after how much it cost.' She thought to herself.

"Willow." Tara said Noticing that the redhead seemed to be miles away. "You still here?"

"Sorry Tara, I was just thinking." Willow said.

"Anything interesting?" Tara inquired.

"Yes, but I tell you about it later." She said to Tara, Willow saw the look on her girlfriends face and quickly added. Tara don't worry I will tell you later over dinner, I promise."

Tara smiled sweetly at the redhead, Willow had a look about her that Tara knew well, and she was up to something. Tara decided to think about later, she just wanted to enjoy this moment, this was the first time in ages she was just spending a relaxing day with her lover. She certainly hoped there would be many more to come.

They spent the rest of the day just wandering around the town, shopping for a few more clothes and other items. They had an interesting time in lingerie shop picking out items for one another. By the time they had arrived back at the hotel it was getting late.

-=-=-=-=-

They took turns to shower as showering together was not a good idea, they had a reservation at eight, and it was almost seven. Once in the shower together things tended to get a little out of hand and they were in a hurry.

"Tara, are you almost rea- Willow stopped as Tara stepped out of the bathroom wearing the dress she had bought. She wore her hair down her long blonde hair gently caressing her face. She thought to herself. 'She looks so beautiful.'

Tara smiled sweetly at her girlfriend who was still in her underwear. Willow nearly fainted at that smile.

"Goddess Tara, you are gorgeous." Willow said a huge smile across her face; she walked up to the blonde and kissed her. "Perfect." She said.

"Thank you." Tara said, her face blushing a little at the compliment. "Glad you like it."

Willow picked up her own dress and took it with her into the bathroom, she returned a few minutes later wearing her own dress.

"I love it Willow it is perfect." Tara said.

"Why thank you my dear." The redhead said grinning. She turned her back to Tara and quickly removed the small box and slipped it into her bag. Checking to see if her lover had noticed. She breathed a sign of relief when she saw that Tara was looking elsewhere. 'Thank god.' She Thought.

"Ready?" Willow asked.

Tara nodded, "Shall we." She said

Willow took Tara by the arm and the girls left the room, walking down the stairs they looked the perfect couple. Arm in arm together they made their way to the restaurant.

-=-=-=-=-

As the restaurant came into view Tara noticed Willow becoming a little more nervous, she turned to her.

"Are you Okay Willow, you seem a little on edge." She said.

"Yeah, maybe but don't worry I'm fine." Willow reassured her.

They reached the restaurant and where they were show to their seats, they sat down facing each other, a single candle was centred in the middle. Tara smiled at the candle, reminding her of when Willow brought her a candle when she came to tell her that she had chosen her over Oz. She smiled at that thought, Willow chose me.

"I hope you like it Tara." Willow said.

"This is so romantic, Willow thank you." Tara replied.

"Nothing but the best for you my sweet." The redhead Smiled at her. "I just want this to be perfect."

"It is Willow."

"Good, anyway lets eat." Willow said picking up a menu and handing it to Tara, she picked up a menu and browsed the list.

Tara ordered a salad as did Willow, the waiter brought them a wine list and Tara chose a light sparking wine as she knew Willow would approve. They settled down to enjoy their meal.

"Here's to us." Willow said raising her glass.

"To us." Tara said.

-=-=-=-=-

A while later they had finished their meal and Willow's face began to show her nervousness. She looked at Tara and took a deep breath, this was the moment she was dreading but also looking forward to.

Steeling herself she reached into her bag and withdrew the small box, she placed on her lap out of view from her lover. Once it was safe she reached out and took her Tara's hand.

"Tara!" She said.

"Yes."

"I-I have something I need to say to you, I have been thinking about the past few weeks and with all that has happened in our lives." Willow said.

"Willow." Tara began a mild look of concern on her face. "What's wr..."

"Sorry Tara, I kinda have a lot to say. Oh boy. What I need to say is that I love you, since you came into my life I have never been happier. You complete me Tara, without you I am empty." Willow continued, smiling at Tara

"Tara, I nearly lost you twice recently, once to Glory and almost to your family yesterday. I don't ever want to ever risk losing you again." She paused for second and the spoke again. "I am so in love with you Tara, I really am, you are everything in the world to me."

Tara reached out and gently ran her hand down Willow's face; she smiled at her girlfriend. Willow was in full babble mode and there was no way that Tara was going to stop her.

"So that I don't lose you again." Again Willow paused. "I want to take the next step in our relationship." She took the box from her lap and held it tight. She got up out of the chair and knelt down in front of her. Willow opened the box and took Tara's hand again.

Tara was starting to cry a little, Willow's speech had touched her very soul and she had never felt so loved.

"I love you Tara Maclay, and I would be honoured if you would marry me." Willow said, her voice choked with emotion.

Tara leaned forward and gently kissed her girlfriend, tears rolling down her cheeks.

"Oh my sweet Willow, You know I love you with all my heart." Tara said. "Of course I will marry you."

Willow hugged her tight, tears streaming down her face; she broke the embrace and kissed her blonde lover savouring every second.

"Tara, you mean it." She said brightness in her eyes.

"I mean it Willow, I really do. I love you so much and I never want to be without you. Marrying you will be an honour, Oh Willow I can't believe I can be this happy." Tara said, her tears mingling with Willow's.

Around the two lovers the other diners had watched the redhead propose to her blonde girlfriend, a few voices of approval were heard as Tara had said yes.

Willow removed the ring from its case and showed it to her girlfriend sorry fiance. It was a twisted gold ring with a blue sapphire that matched Tara's eyes. She gently took Tara's hand and slipped the ring onto her finger, and then kissed her hand."

"Willow it's so beautiful, I love it." She said through tears of absolute joy.

"I love you Tara Maclay." Willow said beaming.

"I love you too Willow Rosenberg." Tara replied.

They stood up and embraced each other tight, not wanting to let go they just wanted to stay like this forever savouring the moment. This was without a doubt the happiest day of their lives.

Willow picked up the bottle of wine and refilled their glasses; she handed one to Tara and took the other for herself.

"To you the future Mrs Tara Rosenberg-Maclay." Willow said.

"And to you the future Mrs Willow Rosenberg-Maclay." Smiled Tara.

With that they drank a toast to the future, a future that they intended to share together for the rest of their lives.

The next evening...

Willow lay on the bed her head in Taras lap; they had spent the day taking in the sights of the small town which they admitted was quite pretty. It was around noon when they got out of bed, after all getting engaged was a special event and Willow wanted the whole to end on a perfect moment. They had made love well into the night, only falling asleep after they had both exhausted themselves.

When they awoke Tara decided to celebrate a little more, and that was the end of an early start to the day. She wanted so much to thank Willow for making her the happiest girl alive. And what better way than to make love.

Tara smiled sweetly at her girlfriend, she gently ran her fingers through Willows soft red hair, and Willow was content to just lie there in her lovers lap. The redhead smiled back at her blonde fiance thinking about the past twenty fours hours.

"It's so weird." Willow said. "I can't believe it."

"What honey?" Tara asked.

"We're engaged, first Xander and Anya and now us." She smiled sweetly at Tara. "I can't wait to tell the others. Ooooh can we phone them?" She said.

"Why don't we wait until we get back, and then we can surprise them." Tara said. "I think that would be more fun."

"Yeah, I guess it would." Willow agreed. " So tomorrow we make our way back and surprise em. Still I do think we should phone them to say we are all right."

"Good Idea." Tara agreed. Where will they be?

"I don't know, we could try the Xander at home, or maybe phone Giles." Willow suggested. "I know, Ill bet there hanging out at the magic shop."

"Okay lets try them there." Tara agreed.

-=-=-=-=-

Sunnydale Magic Shop, Night...

Xander put the phone down; he walked across the shop floor and sat down his head in his hands.

"They have no idea where they are, they found the suitcase on the train but there was no sign if them." He said, his voice carried both frustration and concern.

"I'm sure if some bad had happened to them I'm pretty sure we would have heard by now." Giles said. "Did they say else."

"No nothing." He said shaking his head.

Giles walked over to him and placed his hand on his shoulder. He knew Xander was very distressed about Willow and Tara's disappearance. Xander had known Willow since they were kids.

"I hope they are okay." Dawn said, she too was worried about them. Willow and Tara had sometimes looked after her and she loved them dearly.

Suddenly the phone rang startling them; Xander leapt up out of his chair and grabbed the phone.

"Hello." He said.

"Hi Xander." Came a familiar voice. "How are you mister."

"Oh thank god, Willow are you okay, we heard from the Rail Company your suitcase arrive in Wyoming without you. They had your info on the case and got hold of us via Uni." He paused for a moment. "Where's Tara is she okay."

"Sorry Xander, we had a little run in Tara's family, but were fine. Tara's okay and shes with me. Sorry we worried you, but it has been a bit wacky you know." Willow said.

"Tara's family?" He said. "What happened?"

"Yeah well they tried to kidnap her but everything's okay now we did a little magic and scared em off." Willow continued. "Sorry again if we had you worried."

"I'm just glad you to are okay, anyway when are you getting back. Sunnydale ain't the same without you."

"We will be back tomorrow okay, train gets in late afternoon. Anyway we need to see you we have big news." Willow said barely containing her excitement.

"Ok Wills spill it." He said

"Not until be get back. Anyway we have to go now change is running out, say hi for us. Bye With that she hung up leaving Xander a little speechless.

Xander turned to the gang relief clearly showing on his face; she smiled at the gang. "Panic over guys there ok, apparently Tara nearly got kidnapped by her folks but she is safe now. Good news is they're coming home tomorrow."

"Quite a relief I think." Giles said. Will that damn family of hers ever leave her alone.

"Will is a little cagey about something though, she said they have big news but she won't say until they get back tomorrow." Xander told them.

"I bet it has something to do with sex." Anya suggested.

"ANYA." Everyone said at once.

"What did I say." She looked at everyone bemused.

-=-=-=-=-

Tara smiled as Willow put the phone down; she hadn't run out of change she just didn't want to spoil the surprise for them.

"Are they okay?" Tara asked her lover.

"They where a little freaked but I think there glad were safe." Said the redhead. She looked at her watch and then at Tara. "I think we had better go to bed."

"Why it's not that late yet." Tara said, slightly puzzled. "I'm not that sleepy anyway."

Willow grinned at Tara and winked. "Neither am I."

"It sounds like snuggles may be in order." Tara said a gleam in her eye.

"I certainly hope so." Willow said giggling. "And a little sex as well."

With that Tara got up and pulled Willow to her, kissing her on the lips and then gently moving onto her neck. Willow lifted her top to reveal her silky bra. Tara unclasped it to reveal Willow breasts, Willow moaned as Tara gently began to kiss her all over.

"Oh goddess Tara." She said her voice shaking.

Tara paused while she removed her own clothing; they lay down on the bed and began to explore each others bodies, as they had done many times before. Caressing each other using their hands and tongues on one another until they both reached an orgasmic release.

They made love for some time before finally deciding to get a little sleep. After all tomorrow was going to be a long day and they had to break the engagement to the gang. It was going to be fun to see their faces when they told them.

-=-=-=-=-

Tara awoke first, she sat up and turned to face her sleeping fiance, smiling she planted a light kiss on her forehead. She slowly got out of the bed so as not to wake the sleeping redhead. Putting a few clothes on went to the window and stared out, she thought to herself about the past few days.

This break had started off as a nightmare when she ran into Donny and Beth, but now everything was perfect. Willow had told just how much she loved her and wanted to be with her, and they where now engaged. About a year and half ago she was another shy girl at university. Then she met Willow and everything changed, Willow had befriended her after the Gentlemen incident. They grew as friends and soon fell in love, they had now decided to get married and spend their lives together.

Tara found herself smiling at these thoughts. "Happy thoughts." She whispered quietly to herself. Turning back to she her lover she felt a huge warm feeling surge through her. "I love you Willow Rosenberg." She then made her way to the bathroom to shower.

A little while later Willow awoke she moved her head to gaze at her lover, but she couldn't see Tara. Rubbing her eyes she sat up and looked around the room, a little panic began to rise within.

"Tara, where are you?" She called.

"I'm in the bathroom, I'm just having a shower." Tara replied. "Is everything ok?"

"It is now." Willow said relieved to hear her lovers voice. "I just wondered where you were."

"Sorry, I didn't mean to spook you."

Willow got out of bed and made her way to the shower, she opened the door and watched as Tara dried herself off.

"I guess I'd better grab shower too as we have to get ready to catch the train in a couple of hours." She said. "To bad I didn't wake up with you we could have showered together." She grinned, smiling wryly at the blonde.

"Vixen!" Tara said giggling.

"Thank you!" Laughed Willow. "I do try."

Willow stepped into the shower but not before playfully grabbing Tara's bum and giving her a gentle squeeze.

"Oh Willow."

-=-=-=-=-

Later that day On the Train...

"I wonder what they will say?" Said Willow.

"What?" Tara asked her, not understanding her lovers question.

"About us, you know getting engaged." She said smiling sweetly at the blonde. "It is gonna a be a surprise for them."

"Do you think they'll be okay about it?" Tara said a slight touch of concern in her voice. "I I I mean, will they understand."

"Tara don't sweat it, they will be fine, hell we've been dating for a over a year now. They know how much we love each other." Willow said. "Besides it a lot more normal for us to get married than Xander and Anya. Hello ex-demon." Willow said. "I have to admit she doesn't irritate me so much lately, but I still don't trust her totally."

"Willow, Anya's not all that bad, she did help out at lot when Glory came after us. I know she loves Xander, and he loves her." Tara said, smiling at the redhead.

"Yeah I guess so, he is happy around her and so far she hasn't done anything to hurt him. Sorry Tara I guess I'm still a little wiggy." Willow said nodding, she her tone a little softer. "I will try and be nice."

"Great, now stop worrying about Anya and lets think about how to surprise them." Tara said grinning at Willow.

Willow was played with her engagement ring that Tara had bought, she didn't expect Tara to get her one after all, she had proposed to her. Tara however wanted to get Willow a ring, as it would a visible token of her love for Willow. She glanced at the ring admiring the solid gold band encrusted with a circle of diamonds with a single emerald in the centre. Tara had told her that it was because of her eyes, and she loved looking in those eyes.

"I have a idea lets say nothing, see if they spot the rings and then ask us about them." Willow said excitedly. "I just hope Buffy lik- She suddenly stopped, remembering her fallen friend.

Tara noticed this and placed her arm around her fiance, she kissed her on the cheek.

The mention of Buffy had brought a few tears to the redheads eyes; she had almost forgotten her best friends death. Tara said nothing she just kept Willow close, gently rocking her.

"Oh Tara, I just wish Buffy was here to see this, I know she would have approved. She knew how much I am in love with you, she understood." Willow said wiping away a few of the tears.

"I know Willow, I know." Tara said her voice soothing and full of love.

"I miss her Tara I really do, she was my best friend, I loved her and now she's dead." Willow said through the tears.

"Shhhhhh darling, It hurts I know, but I am here for you, I will always be here." Tara reassured her. "I love you and I will never leave your side."

Tara drew Willow close and kissed her gently on the lips, they embraced and Willow drew some strength from her lover's touch. After a few minutes she pulled away and gazed into the blonde's blue eyes.

"Tara, I love so much, you promise you will stay with me." She said.

"Always Willow, always." She said. "You know I will never leave you. Buffy is a part of you Willow she always will be." Tara gently touched Willow's chest. "She's in here and that can never die. As long as you keep her memories within you, a part of her will always be alive."

Willow smiled at her, she gazed into Tara's eyes and saw only love. Hugging the blonde close she felt a light shining within her heart.

"Tara?"

"Yes Willow."

"Thank you."

"Anytime Willow."

Willow smiled at her lover "No more sad thoughts today, lets just go home."

-=-=-=-=-

Xander stood at the Sunnydale railway station, he glanced at his watch. The train would be in soon and then he could find out what the hell those two witches had as a surprise for everyone.

"I wonder what those two have been up to." He thought to himself. His mind was instantly filled with thoughts that made him blush. He remembered walking in on the two girls a few days back. "Naughty things I bet." He smirked.

He turned his head and he saw the train in the distance approaching, Xander watched as the train slowed down and slowly came to a stop. He watched as a few passengers left the train, he smiled as he saw two familiar figures.

"Hey Willow, hey Tara." He shouted as he waved at them.

"Xander." Willow said as she ran to him.

Xander hugged her tight; she returned the hug holding him close. After a few moments they parted. He turned to Tara and hugged her; she embraced him in return.

"Well you too look great, you guys have fun. Well apart from your family Tara." Xander asked.

"Yeah we had a great time, we didn't get to Yellowstone but we still had fun." Willow said.

"I I had a great time as well." Said Tara. "Although it started off a bit of a nightmare." She winced at thought of Donny, but she felt a little sorrow for Beth trapped within the family if only she could escape. She cleared her mind and thought of Willow's love. "Willow always makes it special." She said.

"Awww, thanks sweetie." Willow said.

"Good." He said. "So come on Wills, spill it. I want to know what your big secret is."

"I'm not saying a word, you gotta guess." Willow said grinning at him.

"Okay, come on Tara spill the beans." He said the blonde Wiccan.

Tara smiled at Willow and turned to Xander. "I don't know anything, She said innocently.

Xander rolled his eyes and he picked up the girls new case, which they had bought to replace the lost one. He walked to the car carrying in case, which he loaded in the boot. He opened the rear doors and ushered the girls into the back seat.

"Thank you kind sir." Willow said giggling.

"Where to ladies?" He said.

"Where is everyone." Tara asked.

"Everyone is at the magic shop today. Giles, Dawn, Anya and a certain little cat."

"How is Miss Kitty?" Tara asked.

"She's fine Dawn and Giles took good care of her." He said.

"Good, I can't wait to see her." Willow grinned. "I've missed her."

Willow smiled at Tara and leaned towards her, whispering in her ear. Tara giggled and kissed Willow on the lips.

"Behave you two, I don't want any hanky panky in my back seat." He said as he noticed the witches kissing. "Unless I can watch."

"XANDER!!!" Both girls shouted.

"Okay, sorry shutting up now." He said.

-=-=-=-=-

At the Magic Shop...

Xander opened the door and allowed the two girls to enter the shop, they walked in and where greeted with warm smiles.

"Hey Guys." Willow said.

"Willow, Tara." Dawn called and she ran to embrace the witches. "Glad you're back safe. I missed you both."

"We missed you as well Dawnie." Willow said smiling as she hugged the girl.

Dawn turned to Tara and wrapped her arms around her, Tara returned the embrace. "Great to see you too Dawn." She said.

Dawn suddenly caught a glimpse of a shiny object on Tara's finger; she looked at Tara's hand and then turned to see Willow's hand as well. Her eyes went wide as she saw the rings.

"Oh my god you two got engaged." She said. "Congratulations guys. I'm so pleased for you."

"What." They heard Anya say.

"What." Echoed Giles

"WHAT!" Exclaimed Xander.

"Guy's, they're engaged. Look at those rings." Dawn said as she pointed to the beautiful gems on the girls fingers.

Xander walked to the wiccans and checked the hands of both girls. He smiled at them.

"Wow, youre engaged. Congrats you two, I'm really pleased for you both. This is wonderful news." He said grinned at them, hugging both of them close. "What is this national engagement month?" He said as only a few weeks earlier he had asked Anya to marry him.

"Yes, congratulations to you both, I am very pleased for you." Giles added.

"Thanks everyone." Willow said. Tara nodded in agreement.

Anya got up and walked up to the smiling girls. She wrapped her arms around Willow and then Tara. "I'm so happy for you both, it will mean that now you can have even better sex."

"Um thanks Anya." Tara said.

Willow managed a slight smile. "Thanks Anya." Willow then said quietly in Anya's ear. "We already have great sex." She grinned at her.

"Oh, good for you." Anya said, a frown on her face.

"So how, and when did this happen?" Xander asked.

"Willow and I went out to dinner a couple of nights ago, it was really romantic, she even got down and proposed." Tara said smiling at the memory.

"I was very romantic, we had candles and everything." Beamed Willow. "It was just perfect."

Nice one Will. Xander said.

"Wow, that is just so cool." Said Dawn. "Oh I think someone else will be pleased to see you." She pointed to the chair by the table.

Willow turned and spotted a small furry animal curled up, she ran to where the cat was. "Miss Kitty Fantastico, you sweet little kitty." She said picking the animal.

Tara joined her and gently stroked the animal, which began to purr contentedly. "She seems so happy."

Tara turned to Dawn. "Thanks for looking after her for us."

"No problem Tara, she was no trouble." Dawn said.

"So come you two, tell us all about it." Xander said. "I want to know all the juicy gossip." He winced as he felt Anya slap him across the arm.

"Ow, An I only meant about the trip." He said innocently.

"Oh, sorry. I just know how your mind works Xander." Anya said.

They spent a little time catching up, laughing and joking; it was good to be together again, despite the fact the witches had only been away for a few days. But since the recent loss they just wanted to be around each other for comfort.

-=-=-=-=-

Willow looked at her watch and yawned, she turned to Tara who also was a little tired. She stood up and took Tara's hand, she turned to Xander.

"Xander can you drop Miss Kitty off at our dorm please."

"Sure, why?" He said.

"Tara and I have to say hi to a friend." Willow said.

Xander nodded "I understand. He said. Ill drop her off I still have the key." He walked over to her and hugged her. He lightly kissed her forehead and turned to Tara. He embraced the blonde and kissed her as well. "Take care both of you, and I'll see you tomorrow."

"Thanks, we'll be okay." Willow said, she turned to others. "See you all tomorrow okay."

"Yes, goodnight Willow, Goodnight Tara." Said Giles. "Be careful tonight."

Dawn embraced Willow and then Tara, she smiled at them. "Is it okay if I can stay with you two tomorrow night?"

"Of course it is Dawn." Tara said. "You know you are staying with is for a couple of weeks."

"Yeah, I forgot sorry." She said. "I love you Willow, and you too Tara."

"Oh Dawnie, I love you as well." Willow said.

Tara kissed Dawn on the cheek; she stroked her hair and gave her a final hug. "Love you Dawn."

They left the shop to go and pay a visit to a special friend; Willow looked around at the familiar streets of Sunnydale. Part of her was glad she was back, this was home after all. But Willow couldn't help feel that this was longer her Sunnydale, now that the slayer her best friend was gone. Tara noticed Willow's look and turned her head towards her lover.

"A-A-Are you sure you want to do this now?" She asked.

"Yes, I think we need to see her, she would want to know." Willows said.

They walked towards the cemetery, it was dark and only the moonlight shone brightly around them. Willow spotted the place where their friend was, holding Tara's hand tighter as the approached the spot. The girls knelt down in front of the headstone.

Hi Buffy, it's me Willow. I just thought I'd stop by and say hello. She paused for a moment. I miss you Buff I really do. I thought I'd better give a little good news, Tara and I got engaged." She said a single tear rolling down her cheek. "I know you would be happy for us."

Willow gently placed her hand on the headstone; she ran her fingers over the name engraved on the marble. 'Buffy Anne Summers'

"I love you Buffy, and I will never forget you." Willow whispered.

Tara, one arm around her lover quietly spoke. "Buffy, I really never got a chance to thank you for everything. For accepting me as Scooby and as a friend." She paused for a moment. "Thank you. I-I-I wish I could have known you better. I miss you."

They sat there for a while in silence, each girl thinking about the slayer, they had cried a little for their departed friend. Buffy was gone; she had died to save the world all that was left where memories. Willow knew she would always hang on to them, so that Buffy could remain alive within her. Tara too thought about her friend and vowed to never let go of her memory.

Willow spoke first. "Well Buff, I know that where ever you are, I know you are happy for us." She paused for a moment. "We'll stop by again soon I promise. I love you Buffy."

Tara still clasped her lovers hand spoke. Thank you again Buffy for your friendship, I will never forget you. She paused and said softly. Love you.

They stood up together and left a few tears in their eyes. Buffy was dead but she was alive in their hearts. Deep within Willow and Tara could feel Buffy's presence and love. They smiled a little knowing that in a way she had given them her blessing and that she was happy for them.

Willow turned to her fiance and smiled. "Come on Tara, let's go home."

Two days later after WIllow and Tara returned

Sunnydale University

Nobody noticed as the blue van pulled up and parked near the university grounds, the door opened and a young man got out.

"Well, back again in Sunnydale." He said. "Feels weird." He reached up and ran his hand through his short spiky hair. He sniffed the air and looked towards the Sunnydale University. "It all feels different now." He mused. He shook his head and walked towards Stevenson hall, he hoped that he would not be given a frosty reception.

The young man made his way to the hall, it was good to back in familiar surroundings, although the last time he was here, and he was shot and captured by some anti monster squad.

"I wonder how she is?" He said aloud to nobody. He reached the hallway where he knew her dorm was. He noticed the number 214 and braced himself. He knocked on the door not knowing what he would find, or whom as maybe they had moved to a new dorm.

He heard footsteps approach and he steadied himself, the door open and he recognised the blonde in front of him.

"Hey." He said.

Tara eyes went wide as she realised whom it was, the last time she saw him he tried to kill her.

"Oh my god." She said, fear racing through her. "Oz!"

He reached out to the girl, but she recoiled from his hand. "Don't worry I won't hurt you. I am okay really."

Tara said nothing, she still didn't trust him and she backed away from the door. She felt fear at the sight of her lovers ex-boyfriend, the memory of him transforming into a wolf came flooding back. "W-w-what do you want." She said stuttering.

"I came to see if everything was okay, I heard that something happened here recently and I wanted to know if everyone was all right." He said to her, his voice soft.

"Oh."

"Can I come in?" He asked.

She thought for a moment and she hesitantly stepped away to let him in.

"Thanks." He said smiling at her. "Look, I'm sorry for what happened last year." Oz, paused for a moment. "I was upset at the thought of Willow in love with someone else."

Tara sat down on the edge of the bed, she looked down at the floor, she was still afraid of him. "Are you still in love with her?" She asked.

"Yes, but as a friend." He said. "Tara, is that your name?"

"Yes." She answered simply.

"Listen Tara, Im not here to cause trouble or hurt anyone, and I'm really sorry about last year." Oz, trying his best to reassure her.

They sat in silence for a few minutes trying to think of something to say to one another.

"Do you love Willow?" He asked her.

"With all my heart." She said lifting her head to face him. "I do love her."

"And you're happy together?" He said to her.

"We are." She said.

"Good." He said smiling at her. "That's all I care about."

He approached her and knelt down before the blonde witch, he reached out to take her hand, she didn't flinch. "I'm sorry I hurt you."

Tara managed a little smile. "Thank you."

He stood up, and then sat down beside her. He felt a little better now, Willow was very happy with Tara and he wasn't about to cause trouble for them. Again they sat in silence, but at least Tara did not feel quite so afraid now. They where both startled as the door opened and Willow walked in.

"Hey Tara, do you want so- She stopped as she saw Oz. "Oh god Oz." She began to panic as she saw how close he was sitting to Tara. "Get away from her." She shouted rushing to protect her lover.

Oz stood and faced her. "Willow it's okay, we where just talking." He said.

Tara stood and touched Willow on the shoulder, she smiled at her. "Willow he hasn't hurt me, he said he was sorry for what happened."

Willow looked into deep into her lover's eyes; she nodded and turned to face her former boyfriend. "Sorry Oz, it's just I get a little wiggy, I saw you near Tara and I freaked, especially after what happened before.

"I understand Willow." He paused. I guess I would be the same.

They looked at each other for a few minutes not knowing what to say to each other. Finally Oz broke the silence. "How are you anyway?" He asked her.

"Okay, I guess things have been a little nuts recently but I am fine." She said How about you?

"I'm good." He said. He paused for a moment and asked "Hey, how's Buffy?"

-=-=-=-=-

Oz sat there speechless, as Willow told him everything that had happened, Dawn, Glory, Ben and how Buffy had died.

"Buffy dead, it's just so hard to believe." He said.

"I know." Willow said, fighting back the tears. Tara held Willow's hand, just wanting to be there to support her love.

Oz sat quietly taking this in, although not close to Buffy, she had always been there for him. So much had changed since he left last year, and it was going to take a while to get used to it. He looked up at the girls and noted the way Tara was holding Willow's hand. He was about to speak then the door opened and a young dark haired girl whom Oz recognised walked in.

"Willow I got the bagels like you-" Dawn said stopping as she saw the visitor, she turned to face him. "Who are you?" She said, she knew the face but had forgotten his name.

"Dawn, this is Oz." Willow said. "My ex-boyfriend remember."

"Hey." He said.

"Hello." She smiled at him. Oz, I rememeber you, you're a werewolf.

True, I am. He said.

Oz nodded, he just smiled at Dawn and spoke. So are you just visiting here.

"Dawn is staying with us for a couple of weeks, as Giles has to return to England in a few days." Tara said to him.

I see! He said. Why?

Something to do with Buffys death, I guess. She said.

Again an uncomfortable silence filled the room, Oz looked at the floor while Dawn turned to face the window.

"Where are you staying Oz?" Willow asked breaking the silence.

"Over at Devon's, until I find a place to stay." He said. "I'm coming back here for a while." He noted the expression on Willow's face and smiled. "I'm not here to cause trouble, I am happy for you both really." Oz looked at his watch; he stood up and faced Willow. Id better go, I need to check in with Devon. He paused for a moment and said. Take care Willow, and you too Tara.

Willow stood and hugged her former boyfriend; she felt a little uncomfortable especially with Tara next to her. They broke away from each other and Oz stepped towards Tara and offered her his hand, she took it and smiled. Willow sat down next to her lover; Tara took Willows hand and gently caressed it with her thumb.

Oz walked to the door and turned to face the girls. "I'll see you guy's around, nice to see you again Dawn?" He said, and then he was gone.

Tara turned to her lover and stroked her hair, turning her face around she kissed the redheaded on the lips. Willow pulled her close and they remained like that for a few moments. Tara gently pulled away and smiled at her lover.

"You okay Willow." She asked.

"I'm fine, it's just weird seeing him again especially now." She said, half her thoughts a million miles away.

"So Willow, you dated him." Dawn asked her.

"Yeah, a long time ago now." She said. "That's in my past, I have a new future now." She said and leaned over to kiss Tara on the cheek. "You." She said to the Blonde.

Tara smiled at her lover, although she once thought she would lose Willow to Oz, today was different, she knew in her heart that Willow could never leave her.

Willow looked at Dawn and the small bag she was carrying. "So Dawn whats for breakfast?" She said. "I'm hungry."

The Sewers, later that day...

"The slayer is dead, we must rejoice it is time to take back this town." Vance said. "We will kill again freely, all humans will tremble before us."

Vance looked down to his small band of followers, baring his fangs to them. He had wanted to kill the slayer himself, but it was too late. Now with her gone the night would once again belong to the vampires.

"Where do we start Vance." Asked Daryl, a short and stocky vampire, he was second to Vance within the small gang.

"We start with the University tonight." He said. "Let us prepare for the feast, so many humans to eat."

With that he turned around and left them alone, Daryl turned to Rod and said. "Be ready for sunset, we take the University once darkness has fallen."

Rod grinned, "It's about time we celebrated the death of a slayer." He was looking forward to a feast. "Vance will lead us in claiming back the night."

Daryl smirked, "Yeah, but does he have to go on and on about it."

"Yeah he does love the sound of his own voice." Rod agreed laughing

They both sat down and waited for the sun to set, and then the fun could begin. A new era of freedom was dawning for all vampires and they were going to be the start.

Willow walked back to her dorm whistling a tune, she was a little happier than this morning. Oz's return was a surprise for both her and Tara, she was pleased to see him and deep down she did still have feelings for him, but their relationship was long over. She had Tara now, and nothing was going to stop her from being with the beautiful blonde wiccan. She smiled at the thought of Tara's soft blonde hair, the curves of her breasts and the pert bottom. And those sapphire blue eyes that Willow just loved to lose herself in.

"Oh Tara." She sighed feeling slightly aroused at the thoughts of her lover's nude body. She snapped her self out of those thoughts; she couldn't very well make love to Tara while Dawn was around. "Drat." She said aloud.

She reached the dorm and let herself in, she looked at the sleeping figure of Dawn curled up on the bed. Tara sat at Willow's computer browsing the Internet; Willow walked over and wrapped her arms around her. Tara smiled at her lover's touch; smelling the sweet scent of lavender on her.

"Hey, sweetie." Willow said quietly so that she didn't disturb Dawn, "How long has Dawn been asleep?" She asked.

"Only about an hour, I guess we did stay up late last night." Tara said. "Tonight it's an early night I think."

"I wish." Willow said grinning.

"Willow, behave yourself, we can snuggle tomorrow night while Dawn goes out to the party." Tara said.

"Snuggles, sounds good. Is that a promise." Willow said.

"Yes."

"What have you been looking at?" Willow said pointing at the computer. "Anything good?"

"Yeah, but staring at this computer screen is making my eye's go a little nuts." She said. "I need to take a break."

Tara stood up and rubbed her eyes and yawned, switching off the computer she turned Willow. "What are we doing tonight?"

"I think were just going to chill tonight, get a pizza and watch a movie maybe." Willow said. "It should be pretty quiet."

"Cool." Tara grinned. "Three girls and a movie, any ideas what we can watch?"

"I don't know, a comedy maybe." Willow suggested.

"Good thinking, I think we could use a laugh." Tara said.

Willow nodded and sat down at the desk, she switched the computer back on waited for it to load. She turned back to Tara. "I'd better get on with a little work." She said.

"No problem, I'll go and get a few items from the canteen and then we order the pizza for tonight." Tara said to her lover, she bent down and kissed her. "I'll see you in a little while okay."

"See you later." Willow said, and turned her attention to the screen.

Night...

Oz walked across the campus towards the dorm where Devon lived, it was good to be back in Sunnydale. Last time he was here he came for Willow, now he just wanted to get back into school next term. Start over, and hopefully rebuild friendships with the gang. He turned his thoughts to Willow, yes he still loved her but it was as a friend now and not a lover.

Willow had chosen Tara last year over him, and at first it was hard to accept that Willow was now gay. Although that incident with a vampire version of the redhead did give a little hint at something. Tara had healed Willows heart when he left her, and it was obvious that the shy blonde had made Willow very happy.

The one thing he did sense this morning was just how much they loved each other, it was in the air around them. At least they where happy together. "Good for you Willow." He whispered.

Oz paused for a moment and sniffed the air; he could smell that something was wrong. He turned around and saw three shadowy figures in the distance.

"Vampires." He said. "On the campus, shit Id better warn Willow." Oz turned in the direction of Stevenson hall and ran towards the building. It didn't take him long to reach the entrance, he quickly checked behind him but could not see the vampires anywhere. He quickly opened the door and ran inside hoping that they were safe.

Willow sat up on the bed resting against the wall, her lover next to her; Tara lay her head against Willow's shoulder. Dawn sat on the floor leaning against the bed, the girls had just eaten and where preparing to settle down and watch a movie.

"So which is it to be huh?" Dawn asked them holding up the tapes.

"I don't mind sweetie, you chose." Willow said.

"What about you Tara?" Dawn said.

"I really don't mind either, surprise us." Tara said, she turned to Willow and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. Willow checked to see if Dawn was facing them, the coast was clear so she turned her to Tara and kissed the blonde on the lips. Both girls thoughts were not on the movie, but on each other. They had both decided to sneak out later that night while Dawn was asleep and take a shower together.

"Wait until later, then we will have some fun." Willow whispered in her lovers ear. Tara could see the gleam in the redheads eyes; she winked at her and quietly spoke in her ear.

"I will hold you to that."

Willow grinned and said. Holding me, Id like that.

"Oh please you two, you're as bad as Xander and Anya." Dawn said startling the witches. "I think you guys should have a competition to see which of you is the most sex mad."

"Opps, sorry." Said Willow, blushing a little.

"Sorry Dawnie." Tara said, her face turning a shade of crimson.

"Hey, don't sweat it, I'm just kidding." Dawn said grinning. "So are we gonna watch a film, or I could just wander off and come back in a couple of hours." She added winking at them.

"Dawn. We are sorry, lets just watch a movie ok." Willow said, still a little embarrassed at Dawn's comments.

"Okay, so which is it to-" Dawn started to say.

Suddenly the door opened and Oz burst in; he was a little exhausted from running.

"Willow." He said, slightly out of breath. "Weve got trouble."

"Oz, what's wrong?" Willow asked him.

"Vampires on the campus." He answered her. "I saw them a few minutes ago."

"Oh god, we had better phone the others." Willow said and reached for the phone. She stopped and thought. No time, we have to stop them now.

"Do you guy's have any weapons here?" Oz asked them.

Both wiccans shook their heads; all the weapons were back at the Summer's house when Buffy moved out last year. Willow thought for a second and then turned to face Tara.

"Tara, what about magic?" She said. "I think we could take them out with a certain spell."

"Are you sure, I-I've never fought vampires before." Tara's voice gave away her fear.

"Tara, we can do this together I need your power as well." She said smiling at her lover. "This spell needs us both, our magic to work as one." Willow looked deep into her eyes and she kissed her. "We can do this."

Tara returned her lovers kiss; she drew strength from her touch.

"Okay." Tara nodded; she went to the foot of their bed and opened the chest they used for keeping their witchcraft books and items in.

Dawn faced Oz and noticed the expression on his face as he saw the girls kiss. "Why don't go all wolfy and kill em that way?" She said trying to distract him.

"I can't do that, once I change the wolf takes over and I could kill you all, besides it isn't a full moon." He said.

"Oz, why don't you stay here with Dawn, and we'll see if we can surprise the vamps with a little magic." Willow told him.

"Willow this is dangerous, there are three vampires out for blood." He said to her. "I don't think you can take them all out."

"Oz, I'm not going alone, Tara will be with me, we're both powerful witches, we'll be fine." She told him. "Besides I'll feel happier with you protecting Dawn."

Oz sighed, he reluctantly agreed. "Okay but for god's sake be careful."

"We will, come on Tara." Willow said, she took Tara's hand and the opened the door, she checked the hallway was clear. Seeing that it was the witches stepped out and closed the door behind them.

"Willow how are we going to do this?" Tara asked.

"We need will join hands and begin the incantation, if it works we will have a floaty ball of sunshine and vamps go bye bye." Willow told her trying to sound confident.

"Okay, lets do it." Tara smiled.

They reached the bottom of the stairs and quickly checked for any sign of the vampires, so far so good. They sat down in on the floor and faced each other; Willow reached out and took Tara's hands. Closing their eyes they began to chant the spell, as the words flowed through them a small circle of light began to form within the girls linked arms.

Vance smiled as he dropped the corpse to the ground, a young male student had been caught as he was returning to his dorm. Daryl had captured him and presented him to Vance, who promptly bit the youth. The other two soon joined the feast and it wasn't long before the youth was dead, drained of every drop of blood.

"That was the first of many." He said. "Come we need to find more people, I'm still hungry."

The others agreed, and they looked around for another victim. Turning to his leader Rod spoke. "What about the that hall over there, it seems to have life." He said pointing to a building, which seemed to have a strange light coming from within.

"It won't have life for much longer." Vance said, his contorted face and fangs gleaming in the campus lights. "Let's go."

He faced the hall and ran towards it; both Rod and Daryl following close behind. They reached the door and entered. He saw over in corner two girls sitting facing one another. "Easy prey." He grinned evilly.

He silently signalled his cohorts so stay quiet, he wanted savour killing them to enjoy every moment of their pain as he drained them of life. 'This is just like fish in a barrel.' He thought to himself.

Willow and Tara heard the door open and they could sense the vampires enter the dorm hall. Although their eyes remained closed they could see the vampires approach them in their minds.

They could feel the energy of the spell within them, the small circle of light now formed a ball which was coming brighter and brighter. As they continued both girls should feel each others minds, they where now joined as one being focused on the spell.

The vampires sensed something was odd about these two, Vance raised his hand to stop them. A light was glowing within the arms of the two girls, it was now very bright and he could feel his skin begin to itch a little.

"Shit, lets get out of here." He said but it was too late.

Willow and Tara released the glowing sphere into the air, it's light shone bright it rays touched the three vampires. Smoke began to rise from their skin as it began to burn them. The light reached it's brightest and suddenly exploded, instantly turning the vampires into dust.

Both girls fell to the floor breathless, sweat dripping from their bodies, the power they had released had drained them. They lay there a few minutes as they slowly got their breath back.

Willow sat up, and leaned over to Tara who lay there motionless her eyes closed.

"Tara, oh god no Tara." Willow said panic creeping into her voice. "Tara please wake up." A few tears began to form in her eyes. She bent down and checked for a pulse, Willow breathed a sigh of relief when she found it. She bent down and kissed her on the lips. "Please don't scare me like that, I love you to much." She whispered to her.

Tara's eyes blinked open and her first sight was that of her lover, she managed a weak smile. "I love you."

Willow kissed her again, her heart filled with joy; she slowly sat Tara up and supported the blonde in her arms. They stayed like that for a while until Tara had recovered enough so they could make it back to their room.

Oz sat on the bed, his face showed his concern at fact Willow and Tara had not yet returned. Dawn paced the floor of the dorm room; she was very worried about the two witches.

A knock at the door came and he heard Willows voice. "Hey Oz open the door please."

Oz got and opened the door to see Willow gently supporting Tara who appeared to be a little weak and dazed, he gently helped Willow lay the blonde down on the bed.

"Is she okay." He asked.

"She just a little exhausted, thats all." Willow said. "She just needs some rest."

"Tara, are you alright?" Asked Dawn.

"I'm fine Dawn just a little tired." Tara said smiling at her.

Willow turned to Oz. "We got them, the vamps are history." She then sat down on the bed next to her lover gently stroking her hair.

Dawn looked at Tara and then at Willow, she thought to herself. I think they need to rest tonight. She decided that it would best if they spent tonight resting and that would allow Willow to take care of Tara. Dawn look at Willow and spoke. "Willow, is it okay if stay over at Giles place tonight, I think you need to look after Tara."

"Dawn, no it's okay we don't mind." Willow said.

"Willow, please Tara needs you now, and Giles is going in a couple of days and I don't mind really." Dawn said, she walked over to Willow and took her hand. "Look I'll be back tomorrow and then we can have some fun. Beside you guy's are gonna have to put up with me for a couple of weeks."

"Well, okay but only if Giles agrees." Willow said reluctantly and picked up the phone.

-=-=-=-=-

"Thanks Giles for this, Dawn said I should spend tonight with Tara to keep an eye on her. She's still a little beat."

"Anytime Willow, I'm just glad your both okay, that was a very powerful spell. Are you sure your okay." He said.

Willow simply nodded. Were fine we just need a little sleep.

Giles turned to Dawn. "Dawn let's go."

"Okay, I'm ready." She said, Dawn walked to the bed and hugged Tara. "I hope you feel better soon."

"Thanks Dawn, Ill be okay." She smiled.

Dawn turned to Willow and embraced her. "I'll see you tomorrow Willow, you take care of her."

"I will Dawn." She said. "And Dawn."

"Yeah."

"Thank you."

"Anytime Willow." Dawn smiled at her. She turned to Oz and said. "Nice to meet you Oz." She turned to the door and followed Giles, leaving Willow, Tara and Oz alone.

Oz turned to Willow and said. "I guess thats my cue as well. I'll see you around okay."

"You're leaving again." She said sounding a little hurt.

"No I'm not leaving. I'll be around. You take good care of her." He said indicating Tara.

"I will, thanks Oz." Willow embraced him.

After a few moments they parted, Oz turned to Tara and said. "It's nice to finally get to know you Tara." He smiled at the blonde who returned it warmly.

"Thank you, and you too." She said.

Oz walked towards the door and opened it; he walked through and turned back to face Willow. "She's special to you isn't she." He said.

"Yes she is, I love her Oz, more than anything else in the world." Willow said. She thought for a second and then spoke again. Oz, don't freak out or go all wolfy on me, but I have something to tell you about Tara and I."

"Willow, I'm cool here, just tell me." He said.

Willow looked him in the eye "Oz, Tara and I are engaged."

"Oh." He said, the news was a bit of a shock but oddly he felt very happy for them. Smiling at her he said "Well congratulations Willow, you too Tara."

"Thank you." They said together.

I glad for you both, I know you are going to be very happy together. She's a part of you now." He said. "Promise me one thing Willow."

"Sure."

"Promise me you'll never stop loving her." He said.

"Always." She glanced back at her lover. "She's my girl."

Oz looked at her smiled. Willow hugged him close, and kissed him on the forehead. He held her tight for a few moments and then he left. Willow closed the door and walked towards Tara, she sat down on the bed and stroked the blondes soft hair.

"Willow you okay!" Tara asked her fiance.

"I am now." She said and pulled Tara close. "I have you, and I'm never gonna let you go. Tara, I love you so much." Willow then kissed her on the lips; Tara wrapped her arms around her lover. After a few moments they released each other, Willow looked into Tara's eyes and saw only love.

"Oh Willow, if I could only ever have one thing in this world, it would be you." She kissed the redhead. "I love you Willow Rosenberg."

"I love you too Tara Maclay."

Tears filled both girls eyes as they embraced each other again, their bodies pressed close to one another. For Willow and Tara, the journey of their lives was only just beginning, and they wanted nothing more than to take that journey together. Throughout all the pain and loss that they had been through they still had each other. Only now their love for one another was stronger, they knew it was a love that could never die, for true love never does.

The End
