Summary: Just when Willow has found someone to help her began healing the hurt of Oz’s departure, Tara disappears.
‘Three weeks, that’s how long it’s been since I’ve seen her. I’ve been to her dorm, I’ve called, and I’ve waited outside her classes. People in her dorm say that she comes around every few days to check on her room. She hasn’t been in class, according to the girl stays across the hall from her. I don’t know what to do, I feel so lost. Most people she I’ve talked tend to think she’s found a new love interest. Maybe they’re right. I mean, sure I liked her a lot and yeah I feel like I was falling in love with her but that doesn’t mean that she felt the same. I don’t know what I’m feeling; I bet she could help me sort it out though.’
Willow hugged her stuffed dog closer to her chest. She was alone in the room she shared with Buffy, once again. Buffy was off with Captain Cardboard (Riley) and fighting the Tin Man (Adam). Willow sat on her bed looking out of her window.
‘I bet her new girlfriend is pretty… and tall. I bet that she’s evil and seductive and goes preying on unsuspecting blonde goddess’ who already sort of have a girlfriend. Why, I bet Tara’s wishing that I would come and save her from that siren……… And then what, we go back to floating around a relationship I’m afraid of? Why would Tara want to be with me anyway? What can I offer her? Not a damn thing.’
Tears began to well up in her eyes. Angrily, she wiped them away and got out of bed. She looked around at the room and suddenly felt disgusted.
‘There is no way that I’m going through this again. It’s Saturday, I’m 19 years old, and I’m completely free to do whatever I want to do. I should go to the Bronze or something. I mean what’s stopping me? Nothing but me, so starting now I’m making a decision to have fun: I’m going to the Bronze and I’m going to have fun. Better yet… I’m going to Babylon. That’s right, little Willow Rosenberg is going to a gay club and there’s not a person who could stop me.’
Willow walked to her closet to sort through her clothes and find something to wear. She looked at everything and found that none of her clothes felt right. In the end she settled on one of her fitted white t-shirts and a pair of Buffy’s black leather pants. Looking in the mirror she was shocked to find that she didn’t look like a total fucktard.
‘I can look kind of hot when I want to. Like really hot, wow!’
Grabbing the keys to the car her parents gave her she headed out the door. On her a way to the parking lot she received quite a few appreciative glances. Outside, Willow pressed the alarm button for her black 2005 Corvette.
‘It’s really a shame I never drive this thing.’
Willow got into the car and revved the engine. She looked in the mirror before pulling on a pair of sleek sunglasses.
‘Oh yeah, I can get into this. Good thing these sunglasses are made for looking cool and not keeping out the sun.’
Loud music pumped through the floors and walls. The bass caught her right in the center of the chest. Any nervousness that Willow might have been feeling before now vanished as she stepped into Babylon. The place was packed with more people than she thought the Bronze could ever hold.
Willow walked towards a table off to the side in a corner. The music slowed down slightly, it took on a slow seductive tone. The mass of bodies on the dance floor seemed to move as one to the low, pounding bass rhythm. The air seemed charged and filled with passion. A static-like energy settled over everyone in the club. It felt like a rising tension, similar to the buzz that comes before an explosion.
Willow leaned back in her chair and let the atmosphere wrap around her. The music worked its way into her senses. It was at that moment that Willow felt a slight pull in the pit of her stomach. She looked around the club for the only person who could set off her senses in that way. Her eyes roamed over the dance floor until they connected a pair of amused blue orbs.
‘I guess she found me.’
TBC…
I promise if you read the next chapter it'll make up for this one. I ask that you all have a little faith in me. I'll clear everything up, don't worry.

Dang... always love redheads... and with Buffy's leather? -faints-... this is awesome...
I had to re read the line I was so shocked the first time. But it's a good shock. I definitely want more
I really liked the exposition of Tara's family history. It's ironic that your vampiric Mr. Maclay seems a lot more human than his counterpart from the show. So Mrs. Maclay had a spell planned for when Tara became a vampire at 20...I take it that she's now used it and that's why Tara has retained her feelings for Willow? There's still so many questions to answer: who bit Tara and what's happened to him/her?; how are the rest of the Scoobies (especially Buffy) going to react to Vampire Tara?; how much magical ability does Tara still have? Can't wait to find out more. Willow's trust and openmindedness is lovely...despite your sig line, I think you may be a closet romantic, Axel!
Since you skipped ahead a bit, I get the impression that Buffy and the gang are going to find out about Tara soon, especially since they're obviously not shying away from going out in public. Still loving the new bold Tara.
