Anya was becoming very impatient. “How long does it take to drive to the store and back for goodness sake?” Just as the words left her mouth she heard a car pull into the drive. “Well about time.”
Before anyone could move the door burst open and Xander charged in dragging a bloody lipped vampire. “Xander, what the hell are you doing here?”
Xander pushed the vampire into the living room. “Buffy, they’ve got them. I was at the Chinese store and I heard a scream and when I got there they were gone. There was some blood and broken glass. He says that they’ll die, both of them. If he doesn’t speak to you. There was blood Buffy.”
Buffy looked at Xander not having understood a single word he had said. “Xander, slow down and start from the beginning.”
In amongst Xander's babbling Tara had pieced together the only pieces of information she needed. “They’ve got Dawn and Willow and if this thing doesn’t talk to Buffy they’ll kill them.”
Sucking in deep breaths to try and calm himself Xander simply nodded at Tara’s summary of the situation.
As the confirmation sunk in Tara felt her anger building, rising to the surface along with a fear that she had never known. The fact that they had Dawn was bad enough, but Willow too. Someone was threatening the love of her life, her soul mate. The fact that they weren’t currently together didn’t alter any of it one bit. The person that made her feel safe and loved was in danger.
If they harm you my love they will all experience a slow, painful death. All eyes bore into the vampire as his arrogant, cocky attitude started to crumble under the intense scrutiny.
Maybe volunteering for this wasn’t such a good idea after all.Handing a piece of paper to Buffy the vampire recited his role in the plan. “If you want to see your sister and your little friend alive you have to be at this location at 2 am. On the dot.”
Buffy stepped closer to their captive. “Is there anything else you have to tell me?”
Before he could finish shaking his head Buffy had added him to the count of vampires she had dusted, anger flashing in her eyes.

As Willow rejoined the conscious world she wished she didn’t have to. She had the worst headache and her whole body was stiff. Slowly opening her eyes she looked around to take in her surroundings. She was on the floor of what looked like a cave with her wrists and feet chained. Looking to her left she could see Dawn sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall, her feet and wrists were also chained. Willow could see that Dawn was awake and had been crying.
Moving to sit next to Dawn, Willow began to formulate a plan of escape. “It’s alright Dawnie. Give me a minute and I’ll have us out of here and back home.”
Shaking her head to try and clear her thoughts Willow barely managed to recite the relatively simple spell that released the chains from their wrists and ankles. As both women stood they clung to each other for support. Neither knew how long they had been there but the cold floor had chilled them both. Staggering to the entrance they moved as fast as they could down the corridor into a huge cavern where Willow estimated there to be approximately forty vampires.

Before the dust had even settled the wheels had been put into motion. Giles and Spike were summoned to the house and the five remaining Scoobys began the usual debate on what to do next.
“Buffy, I think it is prudent to wait until 2 am and see what it is exactly that these vampires want.”
That was not the plan that Buffy wanted to hear. “But Giles that’s almost 5 hours away. A lot can happen in 5 hours, anything could happen to them.”
“Yes. I understand that Buffy. But the fact of the matter is as the locator spell didn’t work we have no idea as to where they may be. I dare say they wouldn’t be stupid enough to be sitting around there waiting for us to make an appearance.”
They all knew that what Giles was suggesting was the best course of action but that didn’t mean they had to like it.
Giles turned towards Spike. “You said you know this place.”
“Well yeah. It’s a bunch of caves at that picnic area about half way between here and the bluff. I tell you what these guys are a bunch of clever buggers. There’s only one entrance which they’ll probably be watching like a hawk.”
“I’m the one they want to see. I’ll go in and you guys can assume the usual back up positions.”
“I don’t think so slayer. Even at the closest positions we could get to the entrance, if anything happens we probably won’t hear it. If we do it will take too long for us to reach you to help.”
Xander nodded his head as he listened to Spike talk. “As much as I hate to admit it Buffy, Spikes right. We should all go.”
Buffy was about to protest when Tara spoke up. “I think we have more hope of getting them back alive if we all go in together. Safety in numbers, we can watch each others back.”
Buffy gave up as she looked around the room, seeing that her friends had all clearly made up their minds on the way things would go down. “Ok, we all go. Lets get everything ready. We need weapons, but nothing too big that will draw suspicion.”

Willow and Dawn managed to get a few feet closer to what they assumed was the exit before they were spotted. As they were about to make a dash for it Willow whipped around as she heard a familiar voice. “Well it’s nice to see you’re finally awake.”
Standing ten feet away from her was Amy in all her vampiric glory. “Amy. When? How?”
“My. My. Willow Rosenberg all tongue tied, thought I would never see the day.” As Amy slowly made her way towards the red head it was obvious she was in charge. “You know, being a rat wasn’t too bad. But being a vampire is simply amazing. I’m more alive now than I ever was which is ironic considering I’m dead.”
Leaning forward Amy whispered as though sharing a secret. “And in a few hours time, the famous Slayer, Buffy Summers will be dead too.”
While Amy had been talking Willow was frantically trying to come up with an escape plan. It was obvious that her old friend, now a vampire was quite ruthless and judging by the small army she had gathered she meant business. She tried to come up with a spell that would help them get away but her head was still throbbing making it difficult to focus.
Putting her resolve face on Willow turned to Dawn, shoved her towards the exit and screamed. “Run Dawn. Get out of here now.” Startled, Dawn did as her friend said desperately trying to make it to the exit.
In the mean time Willow had launched herself at Amy in an attempt to buy Dawn enough time to get away. In the end it was futile. Four of the vampires had rounded Dawn up before she had even made it halfway to the exit.
While Willow had succeeded in knocking Amy to the ground the vampire had simply flipped back onto her feet and delivered several kicks to the red heads ribs. As Willow clutched at her side Amy grabbed her by the back of the head, lifting her up by her hair. “See, now you’ve really pissed me off.”
