Summary: Willow Rosenberg isn’t who she thinks she is and Tara Maclay will guide her through a rough battle between the Heavens and Hell.
Chapter Three“Willow! Look out!” Buffy yelled as a demon came pouncing towards the redhead.
Willow turned around and screamed some in Latin, causing the beast to vanish in flames. “Whoa!” She fell backwards at the force of it all.
“Are you okay?” Xander asked out of breath. “What the hell was that?” He asked.
“Witch foo.” Buffy smirked. “Are you okay Willow?”
Willow nodded her head and began to stand up. “Whoa.” She fell again feeling a wave of nausea sweep through her body. “The world is spinning.” She mumbled before blacking out.
“Willow!” Buffy and Xander knelt down beside her. “Willow? Come on, answer us.”
Willow’s face scrunched up and she let out a small whine. “Ow.”
“Willow?”
“Get them off of me!” Willow screamed and sat straight up, frantically brushing invisible things off her arms and legs.
Xander grabbed Willow and held her close. “Shh, it’s okay Willow, we’re here.”
“What the hell was that?” Buffy hissed at her best friends. “What kind of Magic was that Willow?”
“Where’d the frogs go?” Willow asked, searching her body for evil little green creatures. “There were no frogs, were there?” She asked in a tiny voice.
“No. But Willow, you seriously blacked out there, what was that?” Xander asked again, loosening his grip on his best friend.
“I…I don’t know.” Willow looked wide eyed. “I did the same incantation I do for dusting vamps, but this felt weird. It felt like that evil demon was supposed to be killed a different way, it took so much energy from me and the next thing I know, I was laying in a puddle of green frogs, taunting me.”
Buffy couldn’t help but smirk at her quirky friend. “Come on, I think we should call it a night.”
Willow hopped up on her feet and agreed all to quickly. “Yes, call it a night, I’m tired.” She stretched and yawned, she couldn’t wait to be snuggled by her Angel, her Blue Angel.
“Okay.” Buffy shook her head and looked back to the spot where the demon was flamed. “Wait,” The Slayer picked up a fire red stone and inspected it. “Weird, ‘Gate 13’.” She read the small engraving. “I think we should take this to Giles in the morning, Willow, whatever you vanquished, it’s something huge, it has to be. If your Magic backfired, something is up.”
Willow nodded. “I will ask Tara about it.” She said out of nowhere.
“Tara?” Xander raised his eyebrow.
Willow mentally slapped her forehead, she never told her friends about the Angel that kept her company every night.
“Who’s Tara?” Buffy asked.
“Uh…” Willow hesitated. “Tara is an Angel who has been sleeping with me for the past week.”
Xander got an amused look on his face and was about to give Willow a high five, when Buffy freaked.
“What?! Sleeping with you? Willow! An Angel? What?!”
“No! Not sleeping as in, sexing things up, not that I’d min-“
“Willow!” Buffy stomped her foot lightly.
“Her name is Tara, I call her Blue Angel, she’s my Angel. I don’t know where exactly she’s from but she says she’s here to protect and guide me.” Willow explained.
“From what?” The Slayer stepped back a bit.
“I don’t know, she has yet to tell me.” Willow softly sighed. “But she’s not evil and she means well.”
“Why didn’t you tell us before?” The young man asked.
“Because I wasn’t sure what to say. She’s an Angel from one of many Heavens, that’s all I know. I’m supposed to help with the Mother Goddess.”
“Mother Goddess?” Buffy put her thinking face on. “Giles talked a lot about her, she was captured wasn’t she? Like, Centuries ago.”
Willow nodded her head. “Buff, I don’t know what she wants or why she wants me, but I will find out soon and I’ll let you know, okay? Trust me.”
“Fine, but tomorrow we’re going to Giles and we’re going to discuss this with him.” Buffy started to walk again.
“So…sleeping with an Angel?” Xander poked his best friend.
“Xander, shut up.” Willow growled.

Willow stepped into her room and stood in shock to find Tara floating above the bed, whispering something she couldn’t make out. “Tara?”
The Angel opened her eyes and moved her head to look at Willow. “Hey sweetie.” She grinned and floated herself down to the surface of the bed. “Sorry, meditating, I wasn’t sure how long you’d be in the shower.”
“Oh.” Willow blushed and grew crimson red. “I forgot you could see me always.”
“True, but I don’t peek darling. I know exactly when to respect privacy, besides, I don’t use my vision most of the time, I use my other senses. I sense things, I listen, but rarely ever look during private moments.” Tara sat cross legged and stared at Willow, who was dressed in a white tank top and blue boxers.
“Rarely?” Willow smirked and crawled onto the bed. “Private?”
“Welll…” Tara blushed. “You forget that we’re just like you, we do the same things, we aren’t ghosts.” She wiggled her fingers.
“Do the same…oh!” Willow burst into giggles. “You know, I really like you.” She said.
“I’m glad, because I like you too.” Tara grinned. “I brought something for you.” She pulled a rectangular box out from under the bed and handed it to Willow. “It’s something you may need or may want to wear…when you’re alone.”
Willow raised her eyebrows and opened the box pulling out a similar sheer gown to Tara’s, only white. “Wow.” She looked at it. “It’s very…see through.”
“That’s why you wear these with it.” Tara pulled out cloths and stood up on the bed, modelling her own wear. “See?” She laid one piece over her chest and the other like panties.
“So just wear this around myself?” The red head quirked another eyebrow.
“Or whoever.” Tara shrugged and sat back down. “I just thought you’d like it, besides, it’s all we wear up there.” Tara pointed upwards.
“Are they all as gorgeous as you?” Willow teased and turned her back to throw off her tank top. After dressing in her new gown, she turned around and showed Tara.
Tara licked her lips and smirked a little. “You look perfect.”
“Thank you.” Willow said. “I feel kind of naked though.”
“You get used of it.” Tara replied putting the empty box on the floor.
“So if you watch all the time…then chances are you saw what happened earlier.” Willow sat back and studied her new friend.
“I did.” Tara nodded. “Are you okay?” She asked concerned, touching Willow’s knee lightly.
“I’m fine, a little clueless and confused as to what happened.” Willow frowned.
“Magic.” Tara answered. “Wrong incantation for the wrong demon.”
“Wrong? It’s kills either way, how could that be wrong?”
“You have yet to understand, Willow.” Tara looked at the woman in front of her.
“Then help me understand.” Willow pleaded softly.
“The Slayer has what you need, the little engraved stone. That is a key from the thirteenth gate.”
“What’s the thirteenth gate?”
“Where Mother Goddess is locked away. The darkest of all Hell, where the Minions guard day and night. That demon was sent here to stir up some trouble, to cause a lot of misinterpretations, and it’s going to work if I don’t show you things soon.”
“Show me.” Willow whispered. “Show what I need to know, how can I protect my friends?”
“This isn’t about protecting your friends Willow, this is about protecting your kind.” Tara softly caressed Willow’s cheek with her thumb.
“My kind?”
“Tonight, I will begin to show you the realms of this world in which you belong to, but there will be no going back.” Tara closed her eyes and rested her forehead against Willow’s. “You just say the word, and we’ll get started.”
“Tara?” Willow whispered. “Should I be scared?”
Tara looked into Willow’s worried face and smiled sadly. “I’m right here with you.”
“So I should be scared but I trust you...I’m ready.”
“Close your eyes sweetie and relax.” Tara pressed her lips to Willow’s ear and began to count backwards from one hundred, slowly feeling their bodies drift onto a different plane and explore what will be ahead of them and into the past of Willow Rosenberg’s life.
