Hey Kittens! It’s me…Holly!
I just had this crazy plot and story come into my head, and thought I’d start it off for you to read a bit of it.
Now, this story isn’t going to be updated nearly as often as ‘Never A Night Like This’ so please be patient with this one…that is if you like.
I had some help, a little help writing this one and getting it organized from my beautiful girlfriend Leah. So it’s from the both of us really.
A few things you should know about this first:
1) This is another AU fic, because I can’t really follow along with any of the episodes, plus I love my AU world of Tara and Willow… *sigh* So anything revolving around what has happened between Willow and Tara through out BtVS has not happened here.
2) This is a non-supernatural fic, therefore, Willow and Tara are not powerful witches and slayers or vampires do not exist either. However, Buffy is still Buffy…just not an extra kick ass strength power chick…
3) In this fic we are dealing with a lot of issues. Example: Tara is on a life track that could lead her into danger… she’s not in a right crowd.
Also it may a little ‘dark’ in some area’s and angst in others.
4) Tara’s mother is very much alive, she was adopted when she was younger, but has no clue that the mother who is ‘raising’ her now is not her real mother…but her father is still her biological father…please keep that in mind.
5) Willow will be mention soon. But for the first part, this is Tara’s past… Willow’s will be remained a secret for a while…
I hope you all enjoy this, it’ll be different from my other story…very different.
With that said…here we go on the beginning:

~Part 1~ Revealing the Past
**~~~~**~~~~**~~~***
“What is happiness?” Tara Maclay thought. She never really led a very happy life, and she wasn’t sure if she’d ever lead a very happy life. Her father, Michael, had left her mother when she was eight years old. Her sister Tray-Al, was two years older then her, making her ten.
Belinda Maclay was a drug addict. It seemed to be the only way she knew how to live her life. Raising two girls that didn’t even seem like hers, and dealing with a husband who didn’t seem to support her at all…it wasn’t like he never supported her, but how can one support when all you do is waste your life away on chemicals.
**~~~~**~~~~**~~~***
At the tender age of ten, Tara had decided that she was going to move in with her father. He was clean, had a very nice house, a great job, and a beautiful girlfriend. Tray-Al moved in at the same time, leaving Belinda alone with her problem.
“Tara!” Tray-Al yelled from the bottom of the stairs. “You’re going to be late for school.”
Tara flew down the stairs with her hood half on and half off. “Ok ok!” She huffed going over to kiss her father bye.
Karen, Michael’s girlfriend, drove them to school, dropping Tray-Al of at Junior High first, then Tara at the elementary school.
“I’ll be by to pick you up after school…be watching for me.” Karen kissed Tara.
“Ok. Oh, can we have pizza tonight?” Tara’s blue eyes reflected in Karen’s own.
“Sure, I’ll tell your father that his littlest angel wants pizza…now scoot. I’ll be late for work.”
Tara giggled and watched her ‘step-mom’ drive off.
**~~~~**~~~~**~~~***
Thirteen years old, Tara grew up quite a bit in the past three years. She was the same height as her sister, and her hair was very long and blonde. She filled out quite beautifully and Tray-Al would tease her about becoming a troll if she grew any more inches in the next couple of years. They haven’t even heard from Belinda…
“Dad’s so going to kill you if you wear that out Tray.” Tara laughed watching Tray-Al sport her new tank top, and skirt.
“You think he’ll notice?” Tray-Al laughed twirling around in front of her mirror.
“Who wouldn’t notice you…you look beautiful.” Tara sat up on Tray-Al’s bed and crossed her legs. “He’s still…and what about Karen?”
“Karen’s a softie, tell you what, you distract dad when I head out the door.”
“No way.”
“You can come if you want…we’re just going to a movie.” Tray-Al climbed on the bed and hugged Tara. “Please Tare…I’ll love you forever and ever.”
“Stop pouting…you already do love me forever and ever.” Tara grinned. “Fine, I’ll be a distraction, but I’m going to stay home tonight and finish my home work.”
“Ok…I love you.” The older blonde bounced on the bed hugging Tara tight.
“Promise me though, that you’ll act like a normal fifteen year old later.”
Tray-Al picked up a pillow and threw it at your sister’s head. “Promise. Only if you promise not to let dad or Karen dust my snow globe’s…they mix all of them up.”
“Tray, you have like…a hundred of them…not one person can remember where they all go.” Tara reasoned.
“You do.” Tray smirked throwing her sister a wicked glance.
“Ah yes, years of getting paid half your allowance for cleaning your messes up…that is the life.”
“Tray-Al! You’re ride is here.” Michael Maclay yelled.
Tara rolled off the bed and rushed down the stairs in front to her sister and dragged her dad into his study for a little ‘chat’.
Michael sat in his desk chair looking quite amused at his youngest daughter. He knew something was up, but knew better not to pry. Eventually Tara will cave and give, but he wasn’t one to yell at his daughters for anything, he trusted them to know well enough what to do, and what not to do.
“Did you change your study around?” Tara asked looking at the dark oak shelves filled with books that she had yet to understand.
“No, same as it’s always been.” Michael snickered. “You want to tell me what’s up?” He asked smiling.
“The ceiling, your chandelier, maybe a few spider webs…” Tara looked up inspecting the light fixtures.
“Anything on your mind hon?”
Tara looked back at him and stared into his blue eyes, “Um…yeah, uh…oh, um…I started my period.”
Michael nodded slowly, not expecting that one to come from his little girl. Tray-Al maybe, but Tara, she was usually the quiet-I’ll deal on my own kind of person. “Ok…so, what did you need then?”
“Not sure…was going to talk to Karen about this one. No clue why I sprang it on you.” Tara blushed and opened the door.
“Tare snuggle bear…”
“Yes dad?” Tara smiled.
“I love you.”
“I love you too dad.”
TBC…
