Summary: Willow is a teacher at Sunnydale High. Tara is a senior. You'll have to read the story to find out the rest.

Note: This story was written by myself and Mainer.

Part 1:

The corridors of the high school were buzzing with activity. Most students rushing to greet one another after the summer break, others putting decorations into their empty lockers, and still others who seemed to not want to be there at all. It seemed most of the teachers fell into the latter category, not wanting to be back at school. They milled around the hallways politely greeting each other with stiff, mock smiles. All but one teacher, who presently paced around inside her classroom. She went from straightening things around on her desk to looking out the door and back to her desk again, as if things had moved from the last time she straightened them just moments before. Maybe if this had been her tenth year back or even her second, she wouldn't be quite so nervous, but as it was to be her very first teaching job, the butterflies in her stomach had turned into birds, and large birds at that. Biting her lip nervously, the redhead sat down behind her desk attempting to compose herself at least a bit before her first students arrived. She had spent hours over the past few nights memorizing the names on her class lists. She was anticipating discipline to be her biggest problem. She wasn't that much older than the students she would be teaching, not quite twenty-two. The sound of the warning bell jolted her out of her thoughts, and she placed her hand on her chest to help steady her breathing. Students started filling into the classroom, each looking her up and down, in her mind, judging her. As the final students took their seats, she placed her hands firmly on her desk, pushing herself up, she stood as tall as she could in front of the on looking group, running her hand through her shoulder length, wavy red hair. With as much confidence as she could muster she addressed her class.

"Good morning, my name is Miss. Rosenberg."

Not all the students had managed to find their way into the building yet. Standing behind the school was a group of three girls. Two stood facing one another, cigarettes in hand, talking casually about the upcoming day, the third stood with her back pressed against the building, her blue eyes cast upwards watching the smoke billow and rise into the air. Her right hand idly picking at a worn patch on her jeans.

        "Tara."

Hearing her name, she straightened, the bottom hem of her tee shirt riding up so that it didn't quite meet the waist of her jeans. She looked to her friend, wondering what she had missed, not paying attention to their conversation.

        "Did you hear us?"

        "No," Tara said guiltily.

"New teacher," her friend repeated. "I heard she's barely older than us. You know what that means."

"Yeah, we may never have to sit through an entire English class again."

Tara smiled at her friend's comment, but knew that she most likely wouldn't be with them if they skipped or got kicked out of class. They knew it too, but usually chose to ignore Tara's good side. The warning bell rang, and Tara motioned to her friends that they should head into school now.

"In a minute," was the response. Leaning back against the wall, Tara waited as they finished their cigarettes, continuing to pick at her jeans. She supposed being a little late on the first day wouldn't be so bad. After all it was the new teacher that she had first, and being her first day, she would probably be lenient. Unlike her friends, Tara enjoyed school. Well maybe enjoyed was too strong a word, but she would rather be at school than at home. Most anything was better than being at home.

"Ready?" She asked, seeing the cigarette butts land by her feet on the ground.

Her friends nodded and they headed off toward class just as the late bell rang.

Greetings!!

That's quite a new aspect of the Willow and Tara relationship you're introducing us to, I can see where this is going, the new implications, the obstacles and I must say I'm quite intrigued.

However I must ask how much older is Willow than Tara, as she appears to be 21 or less? Tara must be what, 19?

Anyway, you're writing style is good and I hope to read more of this story!!

Disclaimer: All characters belong to Joss Whedon.

Note: I've changed Miss. Rosenberg to Ms. Rosenberg because I thought Ms. sounded more appropriate.

Note 2: I want to thank you all for the positive feedback you have given me.:bow I'm new at this and I want as much feedback as I can get.

Part 2:

Once she finished introducing herself Ms. Rosenberg started taking roll. " Mark Jacobs", a tall slender young man with short dirty blond hair looked up at Ms Rosenberg.

" Yeah, here" came his reply.

She continued with the roll, although tremendously nervous she kept her head held high, she didn't want her nervousness to show. After a few more names she called " Tara Maclay".

She heard someone say " she's probably off with her loser friends". That's when she heard a roar of laughter come from the students.

" Lets calm down please" she said, but no one listened.

One girl in the back commented saying, "all they do is cause trouble, always wanting to fight".

The door to the classroom flew open. Everyone saw who it was and the room went silent.

Ms. Rosenberg looked towards the door to see who it was. "May I help you", she asked trying to keep her voice steady. She could feel herself faltering. Ok Rosenberg, you can do this, control, control. You're the teacher they're the students. I mean sure you couldn't get them to calm down just two seconds ago but.....whoa, who is this goddess in front of me...

"Um, hi, I'm Tara Maclay" came the reply in an unsure voice.

Tara Maclay....wow.....wait, a student? How can she be a student? Look at her beautiful blonde hair, and those eyes. The kind you could get lost in forever. Oh! Lips, those lips, so thick and luscious, ooh, those lips that are now smiling. Make that a half smile, oh goddess......Just as her eyes started to wander lower she was pulled from her thought by a voice.

"I'm a student, this is English right? You are Ms. Rosenberg"?

Finally understanding what she was hearing she answered. " Oh, yes, sorry, have a seat please".

Tara made her way back to her seat, eyes seemed to follow her but no one said a word. As she sat down she looked up at the teacher. Wow, since when are teacher's so gorgous? One things for sure, this is so gonna be my favorite class. She smiled and listened intently to every word Ms. Rosenberg had to say. When class was over Tara came walking out of the room with a huge smile painted on her face.

"What's with the smile" came a voice from behind.

Tara turned around to see her best friend approaching her. "Faith, hey, I didn't see you".

Faith grinned and said, "I don't think you could see anything. What's with the smile? Don't get me wrong, it's a nice look for you, you just never wear it".

It was then that Tara realized that she was smiling. " Oh, nothing, just a fun class, English is my favorite." Tara smiled with uncertainty that wasn't lost on Faith.

She decided to drop it for now, " Where you off to next"?

Tara looked down at her schedule and said, "math".

"Ugh, have fun with that one, catch ya at lunch"?

"Yeah, see ya then". The girls headed off to their class.

Lunch time came and relief was all over Ms. Rosenberg's face. She started straightning her desk when she heard a soft knock at the door. "Come in".

The door opened and in walked a petite blonde. "Hey willow, how goes it"?

Willow looked up at her best friend Buffy. "Oh, it's going great, except for the little not being able to keep the students under control. They don't see me as their teacher, more like I'm one of them and they can run all over me. I don't think I can do this Buffy. They hate me".

Buffy walked to her friend and put an arm around her. "They don't hate you Will, they just need a little time, they're gonna love you. I mean you're Willow, how could they not? You're one of the best people I know, everything is gonna be alright. Did someone say something to you"?

        "No"

        "Did someone do something"?

        "No"

"Is it Willow's stubborn little brain jumping to conclusions"?

        "Maybe"

"That's what I thought it might be. What do you say we go grab some lunch"?

"Yeah, my tummy is all rumbly, lunch sounds good".

They made their way into the cafateria and saw it packed full of students.

"I think an outside lunch would be best, don't you Will"? When Buffy didn't get a reply she looked up to see Willow staring at the other side of the cafateria. She followed Willow's line of sight to see a group of students eating lunch. "Whatcha looking at Will"? Still nothing,"Will"? Buffy waved her hand in front of Willow's face. "Will"?

With that Willow came around. "Huh, what"?

        "I said, whatcha looking at"?

"Oh, nothing, just looking around, you know me, like to look".

"Uh huh, and why does looking around make you all nervous"?

"Nervous? I'm not nervous, do I seem nervous cause I'm not, why would I be nervous"?

        "I don't know, that's why I'm asking".

"Did you say we should eat outside? Eating outside would be fun so what do ya say, shall we"?

"Yeah, let's go". Buffy took one last look at the group on the other side of the cafateria before following Willow. Something's going on and I'm gonna find out what it is.

Part 3:

The first day of school was finally over. Tara was sitting on a bench waiting for her father to come pick her up. She had been waiting for thirty minutes and was starting to wonder if he was gonna show. She looked around to see that most of the students were gone.

Why am I not surprised, it's not the first time he's forgotten me and not the last.

"Need a ride?"

        "Faith, hey, you don't mind?"

"Not at all. I still wish you'd let me teach that asshole of a father of yours a lesson."

"Faith, please don't," Tara said shaking her head.

"I just don't understand why you let him treat you like that," Faith pressed.

        "He's my father," Tara responded.

"Is that what you call him?"

"Can we just go?" Tara asked.

"Yeah, come on, but I'll never let it go," Faith said pulling away from the curb.

Just outside of 304 Redwood Drive a beat up black Harley pulled up. Tara pulled her helmet off a stepped down.

"Thanks for the ride," Tara said swinging her leg over the side of the bike and standing on the curb facing Faith.

"No problem, want me to come in with you?"

"No thanks," Tara said, not wanting Faith to start trouble with her father. "See you tomorrow?"

"Yeah, if you need anything you know my number, later".

        "Bye"

The door opened slowly, Tara peeked in wondering in what condition she'd find her father.

She walked in slowly, the house was quiet. Maybe he's not here, she thought. Just then she heard him.

        "Tara! Is that you?"

No such luck. "Yes daddy, it's me," Tara answered.

Donald Maclay staggered into the livingroom to see his daughter. " Where the hell have you been?"

"I was at school. Faith had to give me a ride home. Where were you? You were suppose to pick me up."

"That's none of your buisness. Go get dinner ready."

        "Yes sir."

Tara made her way to the kitchen where she began cooking. Her father had been drinking and she knew it was going to be a long night. Once she finished cleaning the kitchen from dinner she made her way to her room to read.

She plopped down on the bed and took out the book Ms. Rosenberg wanted them to read.

However she was having trouble concentrating on the book seeing as how other things were on her mind. Ms. Rosenberg, mmm.....I wonder what her first name is? I'll most definitly have to find out. She is the most beautiful woman in the world. Ok, concentrate, I have homework. Homework that she assigned. Tara tore her mind away enough to read the assigned pages. She wanted to do a good job so that she could impress the teacher, after all it is Ms. Rosenberg, her favorite teacher.

The second day of school had arrived and Willow was actually excited and not so nervous.

That's weird, why am I excited, yesterday I was nervous. What's going on? Ok, that was a dumb question. What's going on is you have the hots for a student. I should go to jail.....that's what'll happen. I'm gonna end up in jail. Oh god...I'm a bad bad person. Well....she is 18, she is of age. Ok...stop, it doesn't matter how old she is, she's a student. That's what matters. Work, work, this is my job. Not a place to scope out the girls. Oh, but she's not just a girl. She's different, she's so beautiful and good. Ok, so I don't really know anything about her but she has to be. She was jolted from her thoughts by the first bell. Students made their way to their seats.

Tara walked in and did her best not to look at Ms. Rosenberg. She was scared if she looked that her crush would show. Meanwhile Ms. Rosenberg was purposly not looking in her direction for the same reasons.

Once everyone was seated and she took roll she started the session.

Lunch time came and Willow finally found a seat in the cafateria. She sat down, took out a sandwhich and began reading.

        "Ms. Rosenberg?"

She looked up to see who was speaking to her.

"Oh, Mandy right? What can I do for you?"

"I was wondering if you'd be willing to help me understand the poem we're suppose to read. I read some of it and I'm completely lost."

"Sure, I'd be happy to help. If you'd like to have a seat we could go over it now," Willow said moving her lunch to the side to make room for the book on the table.

        "That would be great, thanks."

Mandy sat down and they began going over the poem.

Once they finished the poem they started talking about school and such. Willow was really happy she was starting to get along well with the students. Mandy noticed Tara walking and wanted her to sit with them. They had always gotten along really well. She didn't like Tara's other friends very well but she always liked Tara.

        "Tara, hey!"

Tara looked up to see Mandy waving at her. She then noticed who Mandy was sitting with.

She nervously walked over to them.

"Hey, hows it going?" Tara casually asked.

"Good, I was just talking to Ms. Rosenberg. Do you want to sit with us?"

        "Um, I'm not sure..."

Willow could tell she was going to turn down the invitation and decided to jump in.

        "Come on, join us."

Tara noticed the pleading look Ms. Rosenberg had on her face. She thought it was the most addorable thing she'd ever seen. There was no way she could turn her down.

        "Um, ok."

Willow was so happy that she had the chance to talk to Tara now. She wanted to get to know her. She wanted to know everything about this goddess.

"I was just telling Ms. Rosenberg about the popular crowd. You know, Mark Jacobs, he's so cute! Even if he doesn't give me the time of day."

Tara could feel eyes on her so she looked up to find Ms. Rosenberg looking intently at her. When Willow saw Tara look up she quickly looked away. Oh no! She saw me staring at her, what's she going to think now. I know what she'll think, that I'm some sort of weirdo, that's what. Just great Willow, you are sooo smooth. Wait, there's no smoothness anyway cause it's wrong. Smooth....mmmm....yes, that's exzactly how to describe her.

Meanwhile Tara was having her own thoughts. Why was she looking at me like that? Do I have something on my face? Oh god, what if I do? I have to go check!

"Um, I have to go to the bathroom, bye." With that she quickly got up and rushed off.

Willow wached her walk away, she was very sad to see her leave.

Why did she leave? Because you were staring like a crazy person moron.

"Ms. Rosenberg?"

Ok, so if I want her to stay around next time I have to seam sane. No more drooling, you can do it Willow.

        "Ms. Rosenberg?"

Finally Willow realized someone was speaking to her. "Oh, Mandy, sorry. What did you say?"

" I was saying I should go to my locker before the bell rings for next period. Are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm fine, I'll see you later."

        "Ok, bye."

        "Bye."

In the corner of the cafateria stood Buffy. Ok, that was weird. I know the look Willow gets when she likes someone. She was looking at that blonde girl that way. Why would she look at a student that way? Oh no Willow, don't you even think about it.

Just then she noticed the blonde walking towards the exit of the cafateria. She stopped a student walking pass.

"Excuse me, do you know what that girl's name is?"

He followed her line of sight to look at who she was speaking of. "Yeah, she's in my history class. Her name is Tara Maclay."

"Thank you." Tara Maclay huh. Willow sweetie, we need to talk.

Willow as a teacher is a good setup, too bad Tara still has a sucky familly. Problem is that I can't see how they're ever going to get it to work given their current relation. Usually teacher/student relations like that are frowned upon to say the least, never mind a lesbian-variant of such. Can you hear parents decrying how the teacher 'corrupted' their daughter yet?

So yes the setup itself is nice, it's just kinda impossible one as far as relations go. Unless the school-rules in the US are profoundly different from those in the Netherlands, heh.... which I kinda doubt :D

I'm all in favour of siccing Faith onto mr. MaClay, thats perfectly fine with me... no objections here... :-)

Buffy made her way through the double doors of the cafateria. She was on a mission. A mission to find Willow. She was determined to talk to Willow, after that look she saw she knew she had to say something. She was so full of thoughts that she didn't see the person walking towards her with their head down. She felt something hit her and saw books hit the floor.

"Hey!" She yelled. She looked down to see who ran into her.

The girl looked up. "I'm s-sorry"

Buffy realized how she was talking and answered. "It's ok, I'm sorry I yelled at you. Are you okay?" Blue eyes met hazel. Buffy then realized who it was she was talking to. "You're Tara right?"

"Yeah, do I know you?" She said while getting up off the floor.

" No, we haven't met. I'm a counselar here. I'm good friends with Willow."

"Who?" Tara asked not sure who Buffy was talking about.

Buffy looked a little confused. "Oh, I mean Ms. Rosenberg, yeah, we're friends."

Tara smiled at the realization. "Willow? I didn't know her first name. She's my English teacher. She's really nice." Her smile grew bigger just by saying the name. Willow, that's such a good name for her. It really suits her.         "Yes, she is nice, too nice sometimes." Buffy said thinking out loud.

"What?" Tara asked, not quite understanding.

"Oh, nothing. So, you like her huh? In what way?"

" I don't understand." Tara said getting more and more confused by the minute.

"Nevermind, you'd better get to class. It was nice meeting you Tara."

"Um...yeah, you too Buffy. Bye." With that Tara made her way to class.

Willow plopped down in her chair. "Ugh, finally." She said, she was relieved her free period had come. "I didn't realize how stressful teaching could be." She leaned back in her chair.

"Who are you talking to Will?"

Willow was startled and jumped only to have her chair fall back. She landed on the floor.

        "Whoa...are you okay?"

Red hair was the first to be seen popping up on the other side of the desk.

"Buffy? Give someone a heartattack why don't you?" She said in a scarcastic tone.

"Geez Will, I'm really sorry." Buffy said trying not to laugh.

The holding back of laughter was not lost on Willow. "Are you laughing at me?" She asked in an accusing tone.

That was all it took, Buffy started laughing. "I'm sorry Will, but it was funny."

"Go ahead, laugh. Like it's never happened to you." Came an angry voice.

Willow stood with her arms folded and her left foot tapping.

"Wow, you're really getting the hang of this teacher thing." She said looking Willow up and down.

Willow looked down at herself and quickly stopped what she was doing.

"Yes I am. Did you want something?"

"Just wanted to talk, you know, catch up?" She said, not wanting Willow to know the real reason for her coming.

"Yeah cause so much has happened since this morning." Willow said wondering the real reason for the visit.

"Well, it could've." Buffy said faltering. She decided to give it another go.

"Any girlfriend potential out there? Anyone catch Willow's eye yet?"

All Willow could do was think of one name. Tara. She definitly catches Willow's eye. A smile started forming on Willow's face.

        "Willow?"

"Yeah?" She said still in her thoughts.

"Someone's got your attention? Who?" Buffy asked praying it wasn't Tara.

"Wha..oh, no. No one has my attention. Who would have that, nope nobody." Willow didn't want Buffy to know about her crush. She wouldn't understand, how could she. She'll tell me how wrong it is. There's no way I can tell her.

"Are you sure?" Buffy asked hoping she was.

"Sure I'm sure. Why wouldn't I be sure? Hello! My eyes!" Willow answered trying to stop the babbling she felt wanting to let loose.

"Okay Will, calm down. I have to go, I have an appointment in ten minutes. I'll see you at home, ok?"

"Okay Buffy, see you at home."

Once Buffy left the classroom Willow decided to sit back down. Okay chair, you be nice. No more throwing Willow in the floor.

The end of the day was here once again and so was Tara. Once again sitting on the bench and waiting for a father who wasn't gonna show. Why does this have to happen everyday? Why couldn't you just let me have a car, it would be so much easier. She looked around hoping Faith would still be there. She didn't see anyone, she had been waiting for almost an hour. Guess it's time to start walking.

Willow was glad the end of the day had finally come. All she wanted to do is climb into a hot bath. Her back was sore from the earlier chair incident. She got in her 2003 BMW,which was an unlikely present from her parents, and headed home. She saw something hit her windshield. Oh great, and now it's gonna rain. No, make that, it is raining. What is that? Is that someone walking? It must be a student cause they're coming out of the school parking lot. I can't let them walk in the rain.

Tara heard a car approaching, she just kept walking. Even if it was raining she would still never take a ride from a stranger.

"Do you need a ride?" She heard someone say. She turned to decline the offer.

"No thanks I...." She stopped upon seeing who it was. "Ms. Rosenberg?"

It was then that Willow saw who it was.

"Tara?" Willow was happy to see that it was Tara untill she realized Tara was walking in the rain. She frowned a little. "Tara, get in, you're getting soaked."

Tara looked down at her clothes. "I don't want to get your seat wet." She replied wondering why she was turning down a chance to be so close to Willow.

"I don't care about the seat. Get in before you drown, please?" She said with a puppy dog look.

All Tara could do was smile. "Ok, thanks."

"Where to?" Willow asked very excitedly.

"304 Redwood Drive. Do you know where that's at?"

"Yep, I know exactly where it's at." Willow said still smiling.

" Thank you so much for the ride Ms. Rosenberg. It's really nice of you." Tara said wanting Willow to know how grateful she was.

"It's my pleasure. Please, call me Willow." Pleasure? Oh yeah, definitly my pleasure.

They headed towards Tara's house talking about any and everything.

The car pulled up outside of 304 Redwood Drive. Tara was sad to be home. She didn't want to leave Willow. She was having so much fun talking to Willow, like they had known each other for years.

"Well, here we are." Willow said, also sad to see Tara go.

"Yeah, thanks again." Tara said looking at Willow.

Willow turned from the window to look at Tara. That's when she knew. She could see it in Tara's eyes. Tara didn't want to go home, and she didn't want Tara to. They sat there looking at each other for a long time, It was like magic for Willow. Those eyes, the kind you could get lost in. They're in front of me and yes, I'm so lost. It's like...I can see her soul. She has the most beautiful soul. I'm not sure if it's even possible but.....I think I love this girl...no...this woman. Yes, I love this woman. Willow then started moving closer to Tara. This is wrong, I know but I can't help myself. She's so....amazing, so...perfect.

Tara saw Willow moving closer. What is she doing? Is she....no, she couldn't be. Could she? Oh my god, is she gonna kiss me? No, I want that too much. I don't get things I want...or people. No, it would be a miracle, I probably have something in my hair or something. But she's not looking at my hair, she's looking at....my mouth? Oh gods, she IS gonna kiss me!

With that Tara also started to move closer. Their eyes met, love blossomed. At that moment they knew it WAS love they felt. They were in love. Eyes never left each other, lips came closer. They were now an inch apart, one sweet inch to close the gap. They were steadily looking into each other's eyes. Like they were conveying how they felt just by looking. Finally the gap closed, mouths pressed against one another. It was fireworks, like an explosion, this could not be wrong. How could this be wrong?

Willow's hand found Tara's hair. Such soft beatiful hair. Her hand began stroking that hair and made it's way down to soft skin. The other hand went for Tara's hand. Mouths moved slowly and softly against one another, it was so soft, so sensual, so perfect. Willow opened her mouth slightly wanting Tara to do the same. Her wish was granted. Tara opened her mouth a little trying to follow Willow's lead. It's what she wanted, what she dreamed of. Tongues met and danced around one another.

Thunder pounded above the earth scaring them. They parted looking nervously at one another. Tara was scared to say the least. Scared that Willow would regret their kiss. She wanted to get away before rejection came.

"Um..I g-guess I should go." She said with fear gripping her.

Willow frowned, also scared Tara thought it was a mistake. She wanted to say something, anything, but she couldn't.

"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow in class?" She said. She was dissapointed to say the least. Dissapointed in herself for just letting her go.

"Yeah, bye." Tara said before she rushed out of the car.

"Bye." Willow said after Tara was gone. She was starting to wonder if she needed that hot bath anymore. Bye bye hot bath, hello cold shower!
