~Prelude~
Mama always warned me about girls like her. 'They would always lead you to trouble,' she always said. I used to believe her, I mean she was always right. I had never gotten hurt before now. But sometimes in life, you are required to get hurt a couple times before you really appreciate the good things life has offered you. I know that now, and I wish I had known it then.
As I look over at her all I can think is how screwed up everything has gotten. Yes, she is wanted, and now, so am I. Its not as glamorous as I had thought.You always wonder what's it like on the other side. To be popular, to be wanted. That was my wish. What I wanted, but now all I want is her.
Shes so beautiful. That red hair that flows down her back and that body, wow, it amazes me. Everyone wants her. Even the supposedly straight girls want their chance. Sure, she might not be the hottest girl in school, but still, shes the most wanted and sought after. She doesn't just date anyone. Although, now that I think about it, she hasn't ever dated anyone. Guys or girls. I think its that aspect, that no one has ever been given that chance. She's a mystery. Never been kissed, never been touched.
Its not like she hasn't been given the chance. There's always a flock of guys around her. Some friends, who really do care for her, and others, not really friends who just want her body and to be known as the guy do 'did' the virgin. And yeah theres always some girl wrapped around her and by her side. Yeah shes out. Everyone knows it and they're cool with it. Even if they aren't they pretty much get over it when they really get to know her. She's made it easier for the rest of us.
She the girl to her left? The blond? Yeah, thats Buffy, she's cool, and the brunette currently occupying her lap, decked in black, that would be Faith. The second most wanted person in school. In this school it might kinda weird what makes you wanted. In this school, basically, if your gay and taken your pretty much at the top, and well of course looks don't help. the two of them have been going together for about six months. Buffy had been Willow's best friend since grade school and Faith kinda bonded with Willow. I guess, being wanted like they are kinda bonds you in some superficial way. They had both been my friends too, until I screw up that is.
Willow is a different kind of girl. She's always that one girl in school thats pretty much involved in everything, and really has no set group which she qualifies. Though if it had to be something it definitely wouldn't be a jock. So not her thing. But everyone seemed to be her friend. Even those people the other popular kids would give the time of day.
She sounds almost to good to be true, huh. I thought so to, at first. And then I really learned why she is how she is. She to has secrets. Some so big they go beyond an individual's comprehension.
Maybe thats why it was so good. We understood each other.
