See disclaimers, etc in part 1/2Part 3Willow stood outside the doors to the cafeteria waiting for Tara. ‘I hope she’s still coming. Oh god! What if I totally freaked her out and she was just trying to get away from me. She probably thinks I’m some type of psycho-girl.’ Willow looked around frantically for any sign of the blonde goddess. Just as she was about to start panicking again, a familiar form stepped into her vision. A huge grin spread across Willow’s face as she watched Tara approach.
Tara couldn’t help but smile in return. There was just something about this girl that drew her in. She stopped next to the redhead. “Hi, Willow.”
‘Wow. The way she says my name makes it sound like the most beautiful word in the entire history of language. But I bet my name could be mud and it would sound just as beautiful coming from those luscious lips.’ “Hi, Tara.”
Tara stood there for a minute, waiting for Willow to lead them inside. After it was pretty clear the redhead wasn’t going to move unless prompted, she grinned. “Um, Willow? Uh, m-maybe it would be easier to get l-lunch if we actually went, you know… inside the cafeteria? Just a thought.”
Willow’s eyes widened in horror as she realized she had just been standing there, staring at Tara. “Yes, inside, cafeteria, lunch, with the food and the eating of the food and, uh… yeah.” Willow turned and walked to the door, holding it open for Tara to step through.
Tara smiled as she brushed past Willow. They went through the line, then wound their way back through the crowd to sit at a table in the corner. They chose to sit next to one another instead of across the table. Both ate in silence for a few minutes, stealing glances at one another.
Willow was the first to speak. “So, um Tara.” She smiled again just saying the name. She cleared her throat, trying to focus, before asking the question that had been niggling at her. “So, uh, how’d you know my name?”
Tara looked to her right, then her left, then glanced behind her before leaning in towards Willow as if she had a big secret. “I asked.” She giggled as she leaned back a little.
Willow almost missed what the blonde had said. She was distracted by the scent of Tara as she leaned close. “When… who… how…?” Willow couldn’t quite seem to get the questions out.
“Um, after I s-saw you the day before yesterday, I um saw you a little later and asked a friend. He’s s-seen you in the, um computer lab before.”
“Oh.” How had Tara seen her when Willow had looked everywhere for the blonde? The redhead didn’t really care because if Tara took the time to find out her name, well maybe… just maybe.
As Willow stared at the blonde, something caught her attention. “Hold still, you have an eyelash…” Willow leaned in and used her fingertip to capture the stray lash. Her fingers itched to linger on the velvety softness of Tara’s cheek. She held the eyelash for Tara saying, “Make a wish.”
Tara smiled and closed her eyes. After a moment she opened them. Locking her gaze with the redhead’s she gently blew on the tip of Willow’s finger, continuing even after the eyelash disappeared.
Willow’s breath hitched in her throat as the warm moist air from Tara’s mouth caressed the tip of her finger. She wondered what that breath would feel like on her neck, her arms, her breasts… ‘Okay, reeling in those feelings now.’ “So, what did you wish for?”
Tara gave Willow a lopsided smile and wagged her finger. “Unh, unh, uunh. If I t-tell you, it won’t come true.”
Willow vowed right then and there that every star, eyelash, birthday, dandelion and whatever else she could find to wish on, would all have the same wish; her and Tara, together forever. “So, um, are you doing anything this evening? I mean would you like to get coffee, you know, with me or… somethin’?” Willow smiled a little nervously.
Tara broke out into a grin but then faltered. “Um… I’d like to but I was s-sorta going to, uh, check out a group tonight. Kinda an orientation type thing.”
‘Duh’. Willow also had plans that evening; she was supposed to be going to the Wicca group meeting. Why was it that she forgot what time it was and what she was doing whenever she was near Tara? “Oh, that’s alright. I mean that’s fine because I was going to check out a new group this evening, too. And I’m usually not this forgetful. I’m very organized with different colored pens and highlighters and… um… never mind. But maybe some other time, tomorrow, or the next day or the… uh whenever you want, I mean if you want, you don’t have to if you don’t want to, because of the having other plans, friends and you know I don’t know what your schedule is but if you wanted-”
Tara was tempted to see how long Willow could keep going but she was afraid the redhead might start turning blue from lack of oxygen. She placed a single finger on the redhead’s lips. “I’d like that… anytime, Willow. My meeting should be over by eight if you wanted to do s-something, if it’s not too l-late.”
Willow held still, afraid to move. She fought with every bit of willpower she had so she wouldn’t stick the tip of her tongue out and taste the blonde’s finger. She made no move to answer either, knowing as soon as she did, Tara would move.
Tara waited for Willow to answer and realized she still had her finger against the redhead’s lips. She brought it away slowly as she moved to rest her hand on the table. The cold wood was in direct contrast to the warmth of Willow’s lips.
“Um, yeah, I should be done by eight, too. Do you want to meet in the lounge?” Willow hoped she wasn’t being too pushy.
“Sure, that sounds great…”
“So it’s a date.” Willow's mouth opened and the words were out before she could even censor them. Trying to recover she said, “I, uh, watched um The Princess Bride last night and now I’m in the whole rhyming everything type mood. But anyway, eight, right?”
‘She’s so adorable when she gets flustered. But did she really mean date?’ “Right. I have to get to class but I’ll see you tonight.” Tara stood and Willow stood with her.
Unable to resist herself Willow leaned in and grabbed Tara in a quick hug before letting go and hurrying toward the door.
Tara was stunned and could only manage a little wave in Willow’s direction as the redhead made a hasty retreat.
