Title: It is always a beginning… (My first fic)
Author: pioggia acida
Feedback: If you want
Summary: Currently just after the first W/T kiss, and when the others find out. Don’t know where it will end up
Disclaimer: All characters belong to Joss/ME
Rating: NC 17 (its tame to start with… but who knows)
Authors Note: Sorry if this sucks… I haven’t written anything at all for ages and just felt compelled to put it out there (so to speak). Sorry also to anyone if I have inadvertently used your fics as inspiration… if it means anything the fact the they are still in my mind probably means that they are pretty good

'Hey Red, shouldn't you come up for air soon?' Faith's voice cut through the silent library with an edge of jealousy and contempt and for the next minute, though it seemed like eternity, the world stood still. Giles was frozen in an understanding nod, Xander's face displayed thoughts of girl on girl action, Buffy's brow had furrowed in slight confusion while her mouth formed a silent 'Oh', Faith had an understanding though jealous glare, and both Willow and Tara's heads had snapped back in shock.
-----------------------------------------------------
Earlier that evening Buffy, Faith and Xander had left for patrol. Willow had decided to stay back in the library to do research and help Tara 'with homework', and Giles had stayed back to finish filing books. The research was going slowly as Willow's mind was not focused on the task, her thoughts drifting constantly to the blonde on the opposite side of the table and the ever so gentle and compelling kiss they had shared a few days earlier. Neither girl had had the courage to raise the topic, though both had run over it a hundred times in her head. You shouldn't have kissed her, now she doesn't even want to talk to you about it. Idiot! Lucky she didn't take off completely. Oh but her lips are soft, sweet and so gentle. Damn you stop thinking about it, concentrate on the research. Try as she might Willow could not bring herself to concentrate on the current task. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat and craned her neck to see where Giles had gotten to.
"He's gone to find some books in the back of the library." Tara's soft, unsure voice drifted into Willows thoughts. "He did tell us a few minutes ago, but you were miles away. Is everything alright?"
"Yeah... yeah its fine, i was just...."
"Just" prompted Tara gently.
"I was just thinking..., nothing important."
"Hey, look at me," Tara reached across the table and lifted Willows head to gaze into her eyes. "If I can guess what you were thinking will you talk to me about it?"
Willow nodded slowly, "Yeah i guess so" she replied hesitantly, "But if you don’t want to talk about it we don’t have to."
"Nah, I'm not too keen on discussing it actually," replied the blonde rising from her chair and walking around to sit next to Willow. "However a re-enactment would be kind of nice. I... if... if you want to... you don’t have to... we could just forget it ever happened... you probably hated it anywa.."
Tara's negative thoughts were cut short as Willow leaned into her, cupping her chin in her hands and gently kissed away the end of the sentence. "Actually I loved it," Willow breathed, before subcoming to Tara's advancing mouth. Their lips brushed gently against each others, blonde and red hair entwined on their shoulders, hands grabbed gently at their faces. The library around them disappeared and was replaced with a swirl of happiness and affection, their thoughts blended into one and silence overcame them.
-----------------------------
"Oi, Red," Faith repeated, "Anytime you want to snap back to earth would probably be good." Willow blinked and the stillness of the moment was over. Her friend's surprised faces slowly melted away as the world tumbled back onto its axis and continued spinning as though nothing had ever happened.
"I thought i heard you three return," Giles commented. Trying to smooth over the uncomfortable situation at hand. "How was the patrol?"
"We should have stayed here. There seems to have been more action," Faith replied, glancing at Tara and Willow to check if they were blushing. Tara's face began to burn and she tipped it further forward to hide behind her hair.
"Just ignore her," said Buffy moving forwards and gently placing her hand on the embarrassed blondes shoulder. "She's just jealous".
Willow jumped up quickly, "We should go home... we have a big day tomorrow... english test.. math test... you coming Tara, or you gonna walk home with the others?"
"Umm, I'll come with you... if you don't mind," replied the blonde hesitantly. "I'm kind of tired, I should get some sleep."
Damn she's hot when she is all shy and embarrassed. Idiot. Stop thinking about it, you are probably lucky that the others didn't pass out or something. Come on brain... snap out of it. Willow thought grabbing her books off the table and moving purposely towards the door, she paused momentarily while Tara gathered her books off the table and followed her to the door, before stepping out into the night.
"Do you think we should have reminded Willow that today is Friday, that there is no school tomorrow?" Xander asked shrugging.
"Nah," retorted Faith. "It's not like she will be getting any more study done tonight..."
