sorry but i have to ask... is there any way to turn off the avatars? like not allowing them to load up. when downloading a thread page with this ancient, fried, piece of caca laptop i have here at my folks house i cant load up any of the pages properly. i believe a lot of it has to do with all the gifs and animated thingies in the threads. it's driving me mad. hugs and thanks.

If you’re using IE, go to Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/Multimedia/ and deselect “Play Animations” or deselect “Show Pictures”



If you’re using Netscape, go to Edit/Preferences/Advanced and deselect “Automatically Load Images”

I have a question being completly computer illiterate I followed eekdgeek instructions to hotlink her site (thanks again), but after I went to my profile and saved changes the url section went back to blank. I tried this several time, but everytime I go back to the control panel and look at the url section its like I never put anything there. Obviously I am doing something really wrong I would greatly appreciate someone telling me how to put the avatar on in simple terms.



Never mind my thick skull has finally figured out this whole avatar bussiness. I want to say a big thankyou again to eekdgeek for putting those avatars on her page.

VampNo12, as Wiccagrrl313 said, make sure there's a checkmark on Use Personal Photo. your avatar won't show even if you added a URL in the box and clicked on the Save Changes if you didn't check it. so pls try that again.

More info, please all of you that have space and no avatars, contact me through email. We would like to set up a set of sites to distribute avatars, but all these individual postings are confusing.



Please email me and we can co ordinate things offline. Let me know your space and bandwidth contraints and if you have your own avatars or not.



Please DO NOT take avatars and host them without the permission of the Authors/Editors/Clippers. Please be careful of creating avatars from existing images on websites. Although all the images are copyrighted by the individuals, stealing screen caps and other images from fan sites is also not cool.



Please help us get organized and everyone can enjoy in the tips and tricks for avatars and not some battle to see who can host the most avatars.



Again, those of you with either space to host avatars mirror sites or those of you with avatars to be posted, please contact me through email.
