Spoilers: Nothing really unless you don’t know there is a Tara and you have never watched any Buffy ;-)

Summary: AU. Buffy’s 1st year of high school has been pretty much the same as on the show. However she had a different watcher. Giles comes to relive her old watcher, and brings his daughter.

Disclaimer: I don’t own any of the “Buffy” characters, I did however create some new ones for this story, but it’s dealing with Buffy so that’s Joss’s (AKA: The EVIL man) territory not mine.

Rating: PG-13/R it’s between the two.





Pan to Giles running to the body behind the couch.



GILES: (Looks down) Buffy!

BUFFY: (Sits up with a big lump on her head) Gosh, don’t vampires know to hit somewhere besides the head! (Stands up) (Looks around)

WILLOW: Where’s Tara?!?

BUFFY: The grabbed her as I was coming in, I tired to stop them, (Looks down) but I couldn’t.

GILES: (Faces of rage) We have to get her back! (Goes for his weapon chest)

BUFFY: Giles we can’t just go marching out without a plan!

GILES: I have one, kill them all!

BUFFY: Good plan!



Cut to the underground chamber where Spike still has his goons digging.



SPIKE: Will you hurry it up! We’ve only got three more days!

VAMP: Where digging as fast as we can!

SPIKE: (Hits the Vamp) Don’t ever back talk me! I’m the boss, don’t you ever forget that!

VAMP: (Growls)



About that time three vamps walk in caring Tara.



SPIKE: It’s about bloody time!

TARA: (Slowly raises her head to see Spike) You!

JIMMY: (Walks beside Spike) Hi’a sis!

TARA: (Faints)

SPIKE: I’d say she took that well? (Looks at Jimmy)

JIMMY: (Grins)



Cut to the library the whole gang is around the table, they all look worn out; the sun is shinning through the windows.



BUFFY: We looked everywhere Giles. I’m not sure… (Cut off by Giles)

GILES: Then why the bloody hell didn’t we find her!

BUFFY: Their isn’t anything else we can do till the sun goes down!

GILES: Your wrong! I’m going back out!

WILLOW: Giles, I want to find her to, but where all worn out, if we do run into any vamps we won’t be able to fight them.

GILES: Speak for yourself!

BUFFY: (Grabs Giles arm) I won’t let you go back out!

GILES: (Shrugs Buffy off) Don’t tell me what to do, you’re just a child!

BUFFY: (Looks hurt)

GILES: (Storms out)

FAITH: (Looks at Buffy) B, you ok?

BUFFY: Fine!

FAITH: You have to understand, when he lost Aunt Page and Jimmy, he changed. (The group turns to face her) He dropped Tara off in Texas and left for six months! He um had to track them down and stake them. When he came back, he didn’t look at Tara for weeks, then one day he just started crying. All I’m trying to say is, if he looses her to, he won’t recover. He already feels responsible for loosing the rest of his family.

WILLOW: But why was Spike so hell bent on going after Giles?

FAITH: When Giles was younger, he hung with a pretty bad crowd, well they killed Spike’s girlfriend Dru, and he’s been after Giles ever since, he told him once that he would know the pain he felt. And I guess he’s going to make that come true.

WILLOW: OH no! Where not loosing Tara! I won’t let that happen! Buffy we can’t let that happen! (Almost in tears)

BUFFY: (Looks around at her tired friends) Here’s the plan!



Cut to Spikes underground layer. Tara is chained to the wall Jimmy is standing in front of her.



JIMMY: It really is good to see you.

TARA: You’re not real! You’re some kind of dream! Your dead!

JIMMY: Well, you’re right about the last part! (Grins)

TARA: Dad staked you!

JIMMY: (Laughs) Is that what he told you? Truth is, I stopped him from staking mom! He was going to kill our mother Tara!

TARA: Mom? She’s here?

JIMMY: (Looks sad) No. An angry crowd caught us, she was killed. (Looks at Spike) Spike saved me, but I couldn’t get to mom.

TARA: How could Spike have saved you Jimmy, he’s the one who turned you!

JIMMY: Yes, it’s true, but you wouldn’t believe the way I feel now Tara! It’s like I have all this power!

TARA: (Coughs)

JIMMY: Your sick! See I don’t get sick anymore!

TARA: I think I’ll take a heartbeat any day!

JIMMY: (Grins) Always the joker! That’s ok you don’t have to decide right now, but soon.

TARA: Decide what?

JIMMY: Wither when we kill you, you’ll rise again, or die for good! (Walks away)

TARA: (Looks at her brother in shock)

JIMMY: (Walks over to Spike) She’ll come around, give her time!

SPIKE: She bloody well better! We need her!

JIMMY: Give me some time; I’ve always been able to talk her into things.

SPIKE: If she’s not on our side by tomorrow night, and the gem is still in the ground…

JIMMY: Trust me! She’ll be with us!

SPIKE: (Pins Jimmy to the wall) For your sake, you’d better be right!



Cut back to the library the gang walks in, it’s starting to get close to sundown. Giles is asleep at the table.



BUFFY: Giles!

GILES: (Jumps up) Where have you all been?

FAITH: Searching for Tara!

GILES: (Looks at the book he was asleep on) We may have a problem.

XANDER: G-man you feel asleep on a book! Go you!

GILES: (Shoots Xander a ‘shut up’ look)

BUFFY: What is it?

GILES: I found a prophecy that in tales vampires taking over the world.

CORDELIA: So what else is new?

GILES: It states it shall be a duo of brother and sister, working side by side together to dig up the gem of Zimbert.

WILLOW: Ok but how does this fit with why Spike took Tara?

GILES: Cause I’m assuming he has Jimmy as well. (Pulls off his glasses)

BUFFY: (Confused)

FAITH: What?

BUFFY: Jimmy? Jimmy who?

WILLOW: Tara’s brother.

BUFFY: Oh.

FAITH: But he’s dead!

GILES: Yes he is dead…

WILLOW: You staked him? Right?

GILES: (Puts his head down) When I found him and his mother, I’d traveled many parts of Europe, then one rainy night I found them, I tried to do what was right, I had Page… and about the time I was going to stake her Jimmy stopped me. He threw me to the ground and knocked me out… After that I knew I’d never be able to kill them, so I went back to Texas for Tara.

FAITH: So they’re still alive… Well you know what I mean!

GILES: I’m afraid so. (Looks at Buffy) I tell you what to do, but in reality, I’m in no position to, when I couldn’t even do the right thing!

BUFFY: Giles they where your family! I’m sure anyone would have done the same thing!

GILES: But if Tara dies now, it’s all my fault!

WILLOW: Then we stop it!

GILES: I’m afraid it’s not so simple Willow, if Tara gets turned into a Vampire and helps Spike and Jimmy, the only way to stop the gems power once it’s removed from the earth is to kill the ones who dug it out.

BUFFY: And the brother and sister have to be the one’s to dig it out?

GILES: Well, it can be dug out by others but the ones who must remove it for the power…Yes that would have to be Jimmy and Tara.

XANDER: Bummer!

BUFFY: Then we find them! Tonight! (Puts her hand on Giles shoulder) We’ll get her back!

WILLOW: (Looks a little sad)

BUFFY: (Hugs Willow) (Whispers in her friend ear) She’ll be ok Will.

WILLOW: (Hugs Buffy back)



Cut back to Tara. Jimmy is by her again.



JIMMY: So the red head? Is that your new girlfriend?

TARA: (Doesn’t say anything)

JIMMY: Relax; I’m just making conservation. We used to talk about everything!

TARA: You used to be alive!

JIMMY: (Laughs)

TARA: (Coughs again, except it sounds worse)

JIMMY: (Looks concerned) Hey, are you ok?

TARA: I’m chained up underground? What do you thing?

JIMMY: I meant the cough! It sounds pretty bad?

TARA: Yeah well I was resting at home.

JIMMY: (Looks at another vamp) Go get her some cough syrup or something!

TARA: (Notices a hit on her brother) (Sad smile)

JIMMY: What?

TARA: Always looking out for me.

JIMMY: Yeah well, I need you healthy! (Trying to play it off)

SPIKE: (Walks up to Tara and grins) Well, looks like you two are getting reacquainted. (Runs his hand over Tara’s face) How about…

JIMMY: (Pushes Spike away) Don’t ever touch her!

SPIKE: (Gets in Jimmy’s face) I don’t know who you think you are, but I call the shots around here!

JIMMY: Yeah well you need us! And I say you don’t touch her!

SPIKE: (Growls then walks away)

TARA: Thanks.

JIMMY: It’s nothing! (Walks away)



Cut back to the library, Jenny walks in on the group.





JENNY: (Looks at the tired Scooby gang) Whoa what happen?

WILLOW: Exams! Their killer!

JENNY: (Notices Giles sad look) Are you ok?

GILES: Yes, can I help you with anything?

JENNY: Actually… I don’t know how to put this, but I was thinking I could help you.

GILES: I beg your pardon?

JENNY: (Looks at Buffy) (Then back at Giles) I haven’t been completely honest with you.

GILES: What?

JENNY: (Puts her head down before looking back at Giles) The council sent me here to monitor you, if something happen with your mental state I was to report into them.

GILES: (Upset) So is that what your doing! Reliving me of duty! You picked a bad time… (Cut off by Jenny)

JENNY: No I’m here to say, I can help, I think I know where Spike is keeping Tara!

WILLOW: You know about that?

JENNY: Yes. I also know about Jimmy.

GILES: (Looks very, very upset) Well why the hell have you waited this long to come to us!

JENNY: Cause I was researching a spell my people had in ancient times, to give a vampire back his soul. (Hands Giles a piece of paper) I’m pretty sure I can do it.

XANDER: Tara’s a vampire!

JENNY: No Xander! Jimmy.

XANDER: Oh right! I knew that.

FAITH: Smart brain boy!

CORDELIA: Hey, only I can insult him!

GILES: Enough! (Looks at Jenny) Do you really know where they’re keeping her?

JENNY: I’m almost certain.

WILLOW: Then why are we still here??



Cut to Spikes digging chambers. The diggers have reached a small golden box.



JIMMY: (Laughing with Tara) Remember that time we went fishing with dad!

TARA: (Laughing) I’ve never seen him so out of place!

JIMMY: I know!

SPIKE: Finally!! (Pulls Jimmy to the side) Turn her now! Or I will.

JIMMY: (Walks over to Tara) I don’t want him touching you.

TARA: Jimmy please don’t’ do this!

JIMMY: (Looks at Spike then back at Tara)

SPIKE: If she doesn’t’ rise by morning, your dust!

BUFFY: Well, you could say the same thing about you! (Starts to fight with some of the vampires)

TARA: (Notices the Scooby gang has made their way into the chamber) Dad!

GILES: (Smiles when he sees Tara)

JIMMY: Dad. (Hits Giles) Good to see you again.





Everyone is fighting with someone/thing. Faith, Buffy, Xander, Willow, Cordelia and Jenny. Tara is trying to break free. Giles gets up and pins Jimmy to the wall.



GILES: Son, I don’t want to stake you, but if I must this time I will!

JIMMY: You don’t have the guts!



Pan over to Willow and Tara.



WILLOW: (Runs to Tara) Are you ok?

TARA: Not so much! Duck!

WILLOW: Huh! (Ducks to miss a flying piece of wood) Thanks! (Tries to un chain Tara) Damn it! I can’t get these off.

TARA: Spike has the keys I think.



Pan back to Jimmy and Giles.



GILES: There must be some part of you still in there, help your sister! Don’t help Spike take over the world!

JIMMY: (Laughs) Spike doesn’t want to take over the world! He wants to be human again! That’s what the Gem does; it turns its holders back into humans!

GILES: No! He’s lying to you!

JIMMY: No he’s not! (Hits Giles) We will be human again! Only immortal!

GILES: He’ll get what he wants from you, and then kill you!



Pan back to Tara and Willow.



WILLOW: (Yells to Buffy) Get the keys!



Pan to Buffy fighting Spike.



BUFFY: (Notices keys dangling from Spikes belt) you know, (Knocks Spike down and grabs the keys) it’s not nice to kidnap people! Will, heads up! (Throws the keys to Willow)



Pan to Willow and Tara.



WILLOW: (Drops the keys) Shoot! (Leans down to get the keys)



Pan to Faith fighting a vamp. Has very good skills.



FAITH: And that’s for breaking my favorite lamp in the house! And that’s for taking my cousin! (Stakes the vamp)



Most of the vamps are now dead except Spike and Jimmy.





Pan to Willow freeing Tara.



TARA: (Hugs Willow) I knew you’d come!

WILLOW: Had to save my girl! (Smiles)

SPIKE: (Comes up and grabs Tara) Well then you’re a little late! (Holds a knife to Tara’s neck) If any of you come close I’ll kill her!

JIMMY: (Notices this) (Look of rage on his face) I said not to touch her! (Knocks Spike and Tara down) (Starts fighting with Spike)

WILLOW: (With Faiths help, gets Tara to the side)

SPIKE: You stupid twit! (Knocks Jimmy out) This isn’t over! (Runs out)

GILES: Tara!

TARA: (Runs to Giles and hugs him) Dad!

GILES: I was so worried!

TARA: (Just hold on tight to her father)

FAITH: (Looks down at Jimmy) So what do we do with him?



Cut to the library, Jimmy is in the cage still knocked out. The gang is around the table; Jenny has just finished her spell.



TARA: What if it didn’t work?

GILES: Then we’ll have to… (Puts his head down)

TARA: But he saved me?

GILES: A moment of compassion that’s all it was, he’s still a killer!

TARA: He’s Jimmy!

WILLOW: (Holds Tara’s hand)

JIMMY: He’s right. (Looks different, has a fear in his face, and his eyes show a soul) I deserve to die! (Stands up) All the things I’ve done… (Tears come to his face, sinks back to the floor)

TARA: (Runs to the cage and opens the door)

JIMMY: (Turns away from Tara)

TARA: (Pulls her brother into a hug)

JIMMY: (Burst into tears as he hugs Tara as tight as possible)

GILES: (Pulls his glasses off) Jimmy?

TARA: (Stands up pulling her brother with her.)

JIMMY: (Walks in front of Giles) Dad.

GILES: (Pulls Jimmy into a hug)

FAITH: Well! I’d say this calls for celebration! (Looks at Buffy) What do you say, your room, oh nine o’clock?

BUFFY: (Blushes) I don’t’ think so!

XANDER: If you change your mind can I come over?

CORDELIA: (Hits Xander’s arm)

WILLOW: (Smiles)

TARA: (Pulls Willow into a hug)

WILLOW: Um what was that for?

TARA: For just being you.

WILLOW: Well, in that case I require lots of hugs! Cause I’m me a lot!

TARA: (Smiles)

JIMMY: (Pulls away from Giles and looks at Jenny) Thank you.

JENNY: Your welcome.



Cut to Willow’s bedroom.



WILLOW: (Laying on her bed reading a English book) (Theirs a knock on her glass doors)

TARA: (Standing outside smiling)

WILLOW: (Gets up and opens the door) Hey!

TARA: Hey! (Hands Willow a rose)

WILLOW: You know I could get used to this!

TARA: (Kisses Willow) Me to! How you doing?

WILLOW: Shouldn’t I be asking you that question?

TARA: I mean about Rosie.

WILLO: (Looks down) Oh… I guess I didn’t have time to process with so much going on! And I was so happy to hear my mom’s voice… Does that make me a bad person, being glad one person is dead instead of someone else?

TARA: (Touches Willow’s face) No honey it doesn’t!

WILLOW: (Smiles) How’s your brother doing?

TARA: Ok I guess, he’s got a lot of stuff to deal with. And I mean the whole ‘I’m a vampire thing’!

WILLOW: It’s amazing Jenny knew that spell!

TARA: I know! She said that her people came up with it as a curse for another vampire, but he was killed before they could put it on him. I’m just glad she was here! I don’t know if I could have taken loosing my brother twice. (Looks a little sad)

WILLOW: (Kisses Tara) No more losing things! Besides you’ve got a swim match next week so no thought about loosing!

TARA: You just want to see me in my bathing suit!

WILLOW: Busted!

TARA: (Hugs Willow)

WILLOW: You know baby, I’m not complaining but why did you come this way? (Points to her doors leading to the outside)

TARA: Are you kidding? I didn’t want to come through the front door, and risk questing from your parents!

WILLOW: They don’t come till tomorrow, and then we have dinner with them Saturday night!

TARA: Oh, um in that case I don’t feel that well again! I think I’ll have to cancel!

WILLOW: Oh really? I think I should check you out then, (Starts looking Tara over) you know for medical purposes only! (Starts kissing Tara)

TARA: (Leads Willow over to the bed and lays her down, gets on top of her and starts kissing her)



About that time Willow’s bedroom door opens. Mrs. Rosenberg walks in.



MRS. ROSENBERG: Willow!

WILLOW: (Shocked) Mom! What are you doing home?

MRS. ROSENBERG: Our plane got in early! What are you doing! And with whom?

TARA: (Turing the color of Willow’s hair) Um hi… Mrs. Rosenberg, I’m Tara.

WILLOW: Remember my girlfriend I was telling you about.

TARA: Nice to meet you! (Half grin)

MRS. ROSENBERG: (Raises an eyebrow at Tara) I trust your going home soon?

TARA: Yes.

MRS. ROSENBERG: Ok, Willow we’ll talk in the morning. Good night. (Walks out)

TARA: (Falls back on Willow’s bed) Shoot me now!



Tara and Willow burst into laughter.



Pan to outside of Willow's room, Spike is sitting on a motorcycle looking up at the girls through the window.



SPIKE: This isn't over! (rides off)

I hate spike with the passion of a thousand suns (that's a lot of hate)!!!! But Tara having a little brother they are gonna be so cute together. And i wouldn't mind seeing Buffy and Faith getting together, Faith is cool i like her!! Giles being all worried about Tara. To sum up it was just a wonderful update loved it!!

I had to get used to the names in front of every sentece at frist but now i have and it's great!!



Evil Spike, i hope he get's dusted soon, and i hope Jimmy will be ok, we all know how hard a time Angel had with feeling guilty about what he did and all, i hope his family and friends will help him get through all this..

I had actually thought about having Jimmy dusted instead of giving him a soul, I played with the idea for a while, and figured he could be useful in the story That’s what was giving me trouble for a few days was deciding just what I wanted to do with his character, but when I thought about it I liked having Tara’s brother around (Only a GOOD brother) Well… as good as he can be being a vampire and all As for Buffy and Faith, that is still undecided, but from what I’ve read from everyone, they would like to see them together, so we’ll see



snuggle79: Nope afraid Spike doesn’t want to give up! But he’ll be absent for one maybe two chapters I think. As for Tara and Willow getting caught I almost didn’t put that in, but I’m glad I did, seeing as you guys seamed to really enjoy that J So that makes me happy!

Hey everyone!! Sorry it's taken me a few days for the next Ch. I ended up being WAY busier over my vacation then I thought I was going to be!! But it's a good busy! I went to my very 1st Gay/Lesbian bar in Orlando Sat. night!!! Ok so our town has a very small bar that I'd went to but I went to a place called Southren Nights in Orlando, and man it's awesome! If anyone of you live close enough to check it out I'd HIGHLY reccomend it!!!! I must say the highlight of the evening happend at the gas station though One of my friends had to stop and use the bathroom and here we are on the road back from Orlando at like 3am and hardly anything is open, so I sopt a 7'11 and pull in. and OMG the girl at the counter was awesome! Now I'm one I either get someone's # right then and thier or I don't worry about it... that was until last night! We left the place after my friend used the restroom and I got some gas, but then about 3 or 4 miles down the road I did a U turn and my friends are like 'what the hell are you doing' and I just said 'doing something unpredictable' So I turend and went back to the gas station... And I talked to the girl and got her #. Now my friends are making fun of me cause they say the filrt has gotten smitten by a girl but OMG she's so cute OKKKKK so you prob. didn't want to know about my weekend fun but I just had to tell you guys Hope you didn't mind. and for your paticenc I reward you with the next Ch. I'll try to write at least one more before I have to go back to work Tuesday, but we'll see how it goes. Hope everyone has had a great weekend!!!!

Summary: AU. Buffy’s 1st year of high school has been pretty much the same as on the show. However she had a different watcher. Giles comes to relive her old watcher, and brings his daughter.

Disclaimer: I don’t own any of the “Buffy” characters, I did however create some new ones for this story, but it’s dealing with Buffy so that’s Joss’s (AKA: The EVIL man) territory not mine.

Cut to Tara’s bedroom theirs a pile of clothes on the bed. And more clothes flying from the closet to the bed. Jimmy is standing at the doorway laughing.



JIMMY: Tara, come on! I think you’ve got every piece of clothing you own out here!

FAITH: (Propped up on the other side of the doorway) I still think you need some of my leather pants! I’m sure Willow would love them! (Grins)

TARA: (Pokes her head out of her walk in closet) This isn’t funny guys! I have to find the perfect outfit! I want to make a good impression!

JIMMY: Oh you don’t think trying to have sex with your girlfriend, and her mom walking in was a good enough impression? (Smirks)

TARA: (Throws a pillow at Jimmy) Are you going to help or what?

JIMMY: (Goes to the bed) First off, that shirt will in no way go with that skirt! (Grins)



Cut to the kitchen at Willow’s house. Mrs. Rosenberg is overseeing the new maid make dinner.



MRS. ROSENBERG: No! No! I said do it this way! (Corrects the way the maid was cutting an tomato)

WILLOW: (Walks into the room) Hey mom.

MRS. ROSENBERG: Is she here yet?

WILLOW: No um I was going to go pick her up.

MRS. ROSENBERG: Sally! No! Look you came highly recommended so don’t make me regret hiring you!

SALLY: I’m sorry Mrs. Rosenberg. (Cuts the tomato the way Mrs. Rosenberg wants it)

WILLOW: So um mom want to come with me to pick up Tara, you could meet her father?

MRS. ROSENBERG: I see no point in that dear. I mean really, this is just a phase, you’ll grow out of it, so why should I go make nice with that girls family!

WILLOW: (Looks mad) Mom! Tara is my girlfriend, and I won’t have you referring to her as ‘that girl’!

MRS. ROSENBERG: Not in front of the help! This is a conservation for private time!

WILLOW: Fine! (Storms out)



Cut to Giles front door. Willow knocks.



JIMMY: (Opens the door) Hey Willow!

WILLOW: (Smiles) Hey Jimmy. Is Tara ready?

JIMMY: Well, depends on who you ask, if you ask me she’s been ready for 30 minutes. However if you ask her, she still doesn’t look right.

WILLOW: (Walks in) (Smiling)

TARA: (Comes down the stairs) I thought I heard your voice! (Looks at Willow)

WILLOW: (Looks at Tara) Oh my god!

TARA: What? (Looks down, she’s dressed in a hunter green sundress) I need to change don’t I?

WILLOW: NO! You’re beautiful! (Walks up to the stairs and Kisses Tara’s hand)

TARA: (Blushes) (Steps down to Willow and Hugs her) Well, then I guess I’m ready!

JIMMY: For peat sake! Why couldn’t you have came over two hours ago Willow!

WILLOW: (Smiles) So where’s Giles?

JIMMY: (Grins) Well, it appears everyone has a date tonight but me!

WILLOW: Oh! He’s with Mrs. Calendar huh?

TARA: (Grins) Yes.

JIMMY: Well, I’m just surprised you want to go out Tara, I mean if it were to a movie or something it would be different but this is a big step!

TARA: (Looks like she’s starting to think about all this again)

WILLOW: Jimmy! (Looks at Tara) They’re going to love you! (Thinks back to the way her mom acted earlier) And I know I’m not much with the butch, but if they don’t I’ll beat them up!

TARA: (Grins) Are you sure I look ok?

WILLOW: (Kisses Tara)



Cut to outside the front door of the Rosenberg’s.



TARA: I’m not feeling so well; I think I should go back home!

WILLOW: I brought you hear and I’m not having you walk all the way home by yourself!

TARA: (Looks worried) I knew I should have drove!

WILLOW: (Kisses Tara) You’ll do fine! Trust me!

TARA: (Looks at Willow like ‘famous last words’)



Cut to the dinning Table. Willow and Tara are sitting side by side. Mr. And Mrs. Rosenberg are sitting on opposite ends of the table.



MRS. ROSENBERG: So Terri your father is the Liberian at the school?

WILLOW: (Looks at her mom) Tara! It’s Tara mom!

TARA: (Pats Willow’s arm) It’s ok. And yes, he’s the Liberian.

MRS. ROSENBERG: Oh.

WILLOW: Tara’s on the swim team!

MR. ROSENBERG: Really? I was on the swim team when I was in college! I’m afraid I cant’ do as many laps as I once could! (Grins)

TARA: I’m sure you can hold your own sir! (Smiles)

MRS. ROSENBERG: So you’re a senior this year to?

TARA: Yes I am.

MRS. ROSENBERG: And your plans for the future?

TARA: (Looks at Willow) Um, I plan to follow in my father’s footsteps.

WILLOW: (Gives a knowing smile)

MRS. ROSENBERG: Why does that not surprise me! And your not Jewish are you?

TARA: No, my mom was born Christian, however she taught me to respect all religions. But we don’t really practice anything (Looks like she wants to say more but holds back), don’t get me wrong, I know theirs a higher power, it’s just I know theirs more to!

MRS. ROSENBERG: What do you mean by your mom ‘was’ Christian?

TARA: (Looks a little sad) Um she passed away a while back.

MRS. ROSENBERG: Well! That explains it!

WILLOW: Huh?

MRS. ROSENBERG: Why she’s that way!

TARA: (Looks hurt) What way? Gay? Is that what you mean?

MRS. ROSENBERG: Well, don’t you see! You’re trying to replace your mother by adding another female to your life!

WILLOW: (Looks horrified) Mom!

MR. ROSENBERG: That’s enough! (Looks at his wife)

MRS. ROSENBERG: What? I’m supposed to just sit back and be happy she’s turning our daughter this way! She was always normal before this girl!

WILLOW: And I’m normal now!

MRS. ROSENBERG: Right, normal! (Laughs) I guess trying to have sex in MY house is normal!

WILLOW: God knows someone should try and have sex around here!

TARA: Willow, (touches Willow’s arm) Don’t.

WILLOW: What? I’m not going to let her talk to us this way! (Looks at her mom) Tara is my girlfriend! She’s apart of your life now to! She’s going to be around for a long time so get used to her! (Stands up) Come on Tara, I’m taking you home!

MRS. ROSENBERG: If you walk out that door…. (Cut off by Mr. Rosenberg)

MR. ROSENBERG: She can walk right back in it later! Now I’ve sat here and heard just about enough from both of you! (Looks at Willow) I’m not saying I agree with your choices, but you are my daughter and I love you that will not change! (Looks as this wife) And as for you! I’m ashamed! You handle others problems but when your daughter tries to be honest with you, you can’t handle it!

WILLOW: (Has tears in her eyes)

MRS. ROSENBERG: But how can you sit her and… (Cut off again by Mr. Rosenberg)

MR. ROSENBERG: Because I love Willow! Which must be more then I can say for you! (Looks at Willow) Come on sweetie, I’ll drive you to take Tara home; I’d like to meet Mr. Giles.





Tara, Willow and Mr. Rosenberg walk out of the dinning room. Mrs. Rosenberg just sits at the table in shock. Cut to the living room at Giles house. Giles and Mr. Rosenberg are sitting on in different chairs talking.



GILES: So Mr. Rosenberg what did you want to talk about?

MR. ROSENBERG: Please just Ira. And I wanted to talk about our daughters.

GILES: How so?

MR. ROSENBERG: I assume you’re aware they’re dating?

GILES: Yes I am.

MR. ROSENBERG: Yes, as I figured.

GILES: Do you have a problem with that?

MR. ROSENBERG: (Chuckles) Not really a problem, I just worry about my little girl, I don’t ever want to see her hurt. My wife on the other hand, well that’s another story I’m afraid. I mean she’s totally been in denial since Willow first told us she was gay. I’ve never completely understood, but I wasn’t shocked by the fact.

GILES: I can understand that.

MR. ROSENBERG: To get to the point of my visit. I wanted to say thank you for raising such a wonderful daughter, I can see she makes Willow happy. And even though I may get confused by something’s she does, I can she she’s happy!

GILES: As can I.



Cut to Tara’s Bedroom. Willow is trying hard not to cry as Tara holds her.



WILLOW: She hates me! I’m finally happy and she hates happy me!

TARA: Will, she doesn’t hate you, she’s just confused!

WILLOW: How can you say that? After she was so mean to you!

TARA: (Smiles) I can take anything as long as you’re right here! (Holds Willow’s hand to her heart)

WILLOW: How do you always make me feel better?

TARA: Magic. (Grins as she kisses Willow)

MR. ROSENBERG: (Off Screen) Come on Willow, it’s time to go home.

WILLOW: That’s my cue to go. I’m sorry dinner was a bust!

TARA: It wasn’t a bust, but you can still make it up to me! (Kisses Willow)

WILLOW: Um… Ok! (Smiles) See you tomorrow.

TARA: Yeah.

WILLOW: (Exits)

JIMMY: Want me to bite her mom?

TARA: (Jumps) How in blazes do you do that?

JIMMY: Do what?

TARA: Sneak into a room!

JIMMY: OH I was in the bathroom but I didn’t want to come out and be like ‘oh hi I was spying’.

TARA: So instead you stayed in and spied?

JIMMY: Well if you look at it that way! (Sits on the bed by his sister) So do you want me to bite her?

TARA: (Grins) No, having her around for all entirety doesn’t’ sound appealing to me, but thanks! (Hugs her brother) So where’s Faith?



Cut to Buffy’s bedroom, Faith is working on setting up a VCR in Buffy’s bedroom.



BUFFY: Are you sure you know what your doing?

FAITH: Will you relax B! Damn, it’s not like a VCR is that complicated! (About that time she acts like something shocks her)

BUFFY: Oh god! (Sits by Faith quickly) Are you ok?

FAITH: (Grins) Gotcha!

BUFFY: (Looks annoyed) I swear you act like a two year old sometimes! No I take that back a two year old has more since then you!

FAITH: Dang B, I’m hurt! Gee lay off it was just a joke! (Grins) Didn’t know you cared so much! (Winks)

BUFFY: I don’t! I was just worried about my new VCR!

FAITH: Well if you hadn’t tried to slay the last one you wouldn’t have to worry about this one!

BUFFY: I didn’t try to slay it, the stupid tape got stuck!

FAITH: Ok…ok! My god, you take everything to seriously!

BUFFY: Well maybe if you took things more seriously you wouldn’t get into trouble!

FAITH: Hey I haven’t gotten into trouble since I’ve been here!

BUFFY: Yet!

FAITH: (Stands up) That’s it!

BUFFY: (Stands up also) What?

FAITH: I’m done. (Grins)

BUFFY: (Looks at the VCR) Oh. (Smiles) Thanks.

FAITH: No problem. But please next time be more careful! (Starts to exit)

BUFFY: Hey, wait!

FAITH: (Turns around)

BUFFY: Don’t you want to try it out with me?

FAITH: Huh?

BUFFY: The VCR, don’t you want to stay and make sure it works?

FAITH: (Smiles) Sure.

BUFFY: I have the perfect movie! (Holds up a case)

FAITH: (Smirks) You’ve got to be kidding!

BUFFY: (Looks at her movie case) What?

FAITH: Aladdin?

BUFFY: Oh come on it’s my favorite Disney cartoon!

FAITH: Fine! I’m used to sitting through movies I don’t like, I’ve seen ‘The Cutting Edge’ a million times with Tara.

BUFFY: Ok how can you not like ‘The Cutting Edge’?

FAITH: Well, after the first 50 times it just got old!

BUFFY: I think you need help!

FAITH: Care to help me? (Smiles)

BUFFY: (Throws a pillow at Faith)





Cut to Willow in the kitchen of her house. She’s sitting at the bar eating a sandwich.



MRS. ROSENBERG: (Walks into the kitchen) Oh, I didn’t know you where home from that girls house yet.

WILLOW: I’m not in the mood for your crap mom!

MRS. ROSENBERG: Well, your fathers not here to protect you right now. He may be blinded by her and you, but I see right through this! If you wanted my attention why not just hang a sign up!

WILLOW: Damn it! This isn’t’ about getting attention! I’m in love! Why can’t you just be happy for me! Most people never find what Tara and I have now!

MRS. ROSENBERG: I just know you’ll never be happy!

WILLOW: Open your fucking eyes! I am happy! Except for you! (Storms out)



Cut to Tara’s room where Tara is holding a sobbing Willow.



WILLOW: Then she said I’d never be… (Blows her nose) Happy!

TARA: (Holds on to Willow) Shhh… Baby it’ll be ok.

WILLOW: But you didn’t’ see the look on her face! She hates me, what I am! All the times she said she was proud of me was just a lie; she doesn’t even like ‘me’!

TARA: Be true to yourself! That’s all that matters, if you’re true to yourself no one can hurt you because you know who you are!

WILLOW: But Tara it’s so hard!

TARA: The good things always are.



Little while later Willow has fallen asleep on Tara’s shoulder. Tara gently gets up and heads out the front door.



FAITH: You know I don’t think it’s safe to sneak out of the house in this neighborhood!

TARA: God! Faith you scared me!

FAITH: Where you going?

TARA: (Whispers) Keep your voice down!

JIMMY: (Walks up) Why afraid someone will hear you?

TARA: (Jumps again) Is it your two’s mission to make me pee my pants tonight?

FAITH: Back to my question, where are you going?

TARA: I have something to take care of!

JIMMY: Wouldn’t have anything to do with a certain redhead that’s asleep in your bed would it?

TARA: I have to talk to her mother!

FAITH: OH no bad idea!

TARA: I don’t care, she’s hurting Willow and I want to make it better!

JIMMY: Um Tara, I hate to break it to you but you can’t control what her mom feels or thinks!

TARA: I’m going and you are not going to stop me!

JIMMY: Fine, but I’m going with you!

TARA: (Looks at Faith) Will you stay with Willow?

FAITH: Sure, fine! Always what I like guard duty! (Gets a look from Tara) Of course I’ll stay!



Cut to outside the Rosenberg house. Jimmy is standing by Tara.



JIMMY: Are you sure about this?

TARA: Waking her mom up at 2am yeah positive! (Half grin)

JIMMY: I’ll be in the bushes if you need me.

TARA: (Knocks on the door) (No answer, knocks again)

MRS. ROSENBERG: (Opens the door) This is a bad time of the night for my deliver I didn’t think you where coming till… (Notices it’s Tara) Oh it’s you! What are you doing here?

TARA: I need to talk to you about your daughter!

MRS. ROSENBERG: Go away!

TARA: I need to talk to you!

MRS. ROSENBERG: I see no point in you doing that!

TARA: Well fine! I’ll talk you’ll listen! (Walks in the house and closes the door)

MRS. ROSENBERG: Well if I call the cops for trespassing… (Goes into the kitchen to get the phone followed by Tara) (Cut off by Tara)

TARA: You can do that, but your still going to listen to me till they get here!

MRS. ROSENBERG: Fine! Talk! (Puts the phone down)

TARA: How can you treat Willow the way you have been! Do you know how upset she’s been! She’s at my house right now exhausted from crying all night! Or do you even care?

MRS. ROSENBERG: Do you?

TARA: You are a miserable old lady that can’t see love even if it jumped up and bite you in the ass!

MRS. ROSENBERG: I’m not going to listen to this!

TARA: Oh yes you are! Your daughter is the best thing to ever happen to me! And it’s killing her the way you’re treating her! All she wants is for you to love her!

MRS. ROSENBERG: love her huh? Right you really know what love is, your only 17!

TARA: I know more love at 17 then you have in your whole life, your daughter has show me that! I want what’s best for her!

MRS. ROSENBERG: Then leave her! Break up with her and never contact her again!

TARA: (Looks shocked) If I thought for one second that her life would be better, and she’d be happier without me, I’d leave, it’d kill me but I would do the right thing for her! But I know that’s not the right thing for either of us, without her I’m nothing, and if she feels a fraction of that for me to, then it’d kill her if I left, and I don’t see that being better!

MRS. ROSENBERG: At least she’d have a chance at a normal life!

TARA: You think not having love is normal? Lying to yourself is normal? Your daughter is Gay Sheila! If it wasn’t’ me it would be someone else! She’s not going to date guys! And you know what, she’s going to live a happy, long life, filled with love; you know how I know this? I’m going to give it to her! (Walks out) (Runs into Willow on her way out who has heard the whole conservation)

WILLOW: (Hugs Tara) I love you!

TARA: I love you to baby! (Notices Faith in the corner)

FAITH: I tried to stop her from coming, but the girl has a mind of her own!

MRS. ROSENBERG: (Looks at the girls) When you get through being brainwashed Willow talk to me! (With Tears in her eyes she goes upstairs)

WILLOW: (About to cry)

TARA: (Takes Willow’s face in her hands) Don’t worry about her, I’m here, I’ll always be here!

WILLOW: (Kisses Tara)

FAITH: Oh gee get a room!

WILLOW: Faith go bug Buffy!

FAITH: (Laughs)



Cut to the Swim meat. Willow, Buffy, Xander, Cordelia and Faith are sitting in the stands of a packed Gym.



FAITH: Wait Red! (Looks around) No sign??

WILLOW: (Smirks) (Points the score board on the gym where the electronic sign reads ‘Good luck Tara’)

FAITH: (Grins) Well, at least it’s not upside down!

WILLOW: (Smiles) I’ve never hand any trouble with being upside down.

FAITH: (Laughs) Good one red… Good one!

BUFFY: Willow!

FAITH: Awe come on B don’t be jealous I don’t mind showing you the ropes!

BUFFY: (Hits Faiths Arms)

pikescoob: THE CUTTING EDGE is THE BEST movie EVER!!!!!!!! I have really seen it like 150 times. I've watched it so many times that everytime it's my night to pick out a video for friends video night, everyone just looks at me when I smile and say 'not again' And I'm with you I don't like Willow's mom either, for god's sake she's still Willow!
