New Film The Griddle House, Has Amber + Buffy Alums

I'm on a roll today folks!

New film currently in post-production. Looks like it filmed inside the Five & Diner in Las Vegas (one of my old haunts).

The Griddle House

Stars: Amber Benson, Charisma Carpenter and Clare Kramer.

Not a lot of info at this point... but here is the movie's FB page... lots of great pics (only one of them showing Amber, lugging coffee).

Looks like this is a "Hallmark"-type movie. The production company is faith-based. That said, this movie looks to be playing for the warm fuzzies rather than the "condescending preachies".

So my DVD got here today.

This was...a movie.

A movie set mostly in the mid-90s.

Obviously, I'm pretty biased but I did think Amber was pretty funny in it. Although it wasn't a funny role, but there were comedic facial expressions and body movements from time to time. Her character has the darkest history. Idk what else to say without spoiling too much. She's blonde. She almost wears glasses once. She wears headphones upside down. She cries, so maybe prepare yourself for that. And even though she's first billed, it's not a totally starring role. It's ensemble, so that's to be expected.

I liked Clare Kramer in this. She plays anxious really well. Couldn't be more different than Glory, obviously. She also really doesn't look any older. I need her skin regime. Or any skin regime.

Charisma Carpenter was okay. The other characters are okay. I didn't hate it, but I'm no critic and I've watched a lot of bad movies. I also generally enjoy cheesy movies, but I groaned once or twice. The ending was...interesting. I laughed. Again, not on purpose. But hey, I left smiling for Tiny (Amber's character). I honestly couldn't give a shit about the kid.

It also felt a bit thrown-together, production wise. I noticed a couple of sound issues and stuff. It's been in production for so long but then the December release date was suddenly hastened to July so I have no idea what's going on there.

All in all, not the best or worth Amber movie I've ever watched.
