I'm a regular poster at the Bronze Beta. Steve usually posts on Fridays, but has been ill recently. He posted I think on Friday(before the spoiler *broke*) to say he had been ill and would post at some point over the weekend. So I don't think it was deliberate.
I am not suprised if he is reading some of this board now though, as someone posted a link!

That's okay, Bob. I was the one who asked if all the writers had gone and done a bunch of drugs. It was my very first Bronze post and he answered! At least I feel heard in a small way.
quote: Y_Slayerbelle: Dead Things was edited by the amazing Lisa Lassek. She also edited Once More, With Feeling and is
currently hard at work editing the pilot for Firefly. And did I mention she’s gorgeous?
Tralfamadore2001: Big Doug Petrie is nobody’s figment, baby.
TAMZ: Good to be seen and right back at you.
Sarah’s Carl: The first Buffy I watched was the pilot. I hated the movie and thought it was a really bad idea for a series.
By the end of episode three was telling everyone who would listen it was the best thing on TV.
Phil PhuD: Haven’t seen it. But if you liked it, I’ll give it a shot.
Smiley Face: That’s a tough one. One of my favorite Buffy lines that I’ve written so far would have to be in ep. 19,
“Charge the Cerebral Dampener.” ‘Cause heck, when do you get to write stuff like that?
JV3: Your existence is formally recognized. That’ll be $12.50
Tvsurfer: As I’ve said to others before, I refuse to enter into an argument over the merits of any episode – or an entire
season. I leave the rough stuff to Fury.
Major Wiggins: Thanks for the counterpoint. But let me make it clear to everyone: feel free to complain that you don’t
like what’s happening on BTVS. Heck, I complain about movies and TV shows every day. Just understand that making a
TV show is complicated business. We try our best, but we’re not always going to get it right. And for the love of all
that’s sweet, if you hate what you’re watching, turn the channel. I do it all the time.
Christopher Marlowe: Thanks! Glad you enjoyed that early draft of Dead Things.
Ariel: If you don’t steer clear of the spoilers, my head will explode.
Greeneyes: It’s nice to be right about something.
Paradox: I hope 19 does it for you. It’s some pretty cool stuff in it. Thanks Joss!
And now my friends I must depart for a pot-pneumonia nap. Stay cool. And for those of you with an X-Box or Playstation

A perfectly fair and honest bit of advice. It may come back to haunt him, though, if UPN ever starts asking why the ratings have dropped.

Oh, I *so* agree on both points, Xita. And Marti writing the ep that apparently deals with some of the aftermath...that bodes well-not! Dammit, I don't want this much angst!!!

This really isn't what I'd anticipated of the show. Yeah, I've always expected Buffy to surprise me - but killing off characters has been done before. Joyce died, and that meant the show dealt with death.
And apart from the deep sadness, does anyone else just think this whole "Tara dies and Willow goes evil" plot is just totally lame? It's like something out of bad fanfiction.
Which sounds like I'm jumping on the Scullybus - but I'm not disputing the validity of the spoilers. "Spike and Buffy have sex" is like something out of fanfiction, too.

Oh I remember this conversation. We had it last week, and I said don't trust a single word that evil bastard DeKnight says, and people were like, "Oh, but he said this time he meant it that it was light", not like the last time where he called Dead Things a 'light-hearted little romp.'
You can't trust ANY of those bastards to tell you the truth. They're all accomplished and professional liars. The only thing you can trust is what you see on the screen, and you can't even trust your interpretation of that, because then they'll come along with another episode and take it all back.
Three seasons of being in love with Willow and Tara? Screw it. It was all a big lie.
This is such bullshit that I can't believe this is even happening. I went to bed this morning after being up 21 hours with this, and it still is here. This is so, so bogus. I just want to smash my head against the wall and make it all go away.
Yesterday I was the one saying to trust Joss, and to wait and see, that this is all just the writers playing us. And you know what - my head still knows that its true and I encourage other people to take that no-doubt good advice.
But my heart is just MAD AS HELL. How dare they fucking toy with our emotions like this?! How dare they! Who the hell do they think they are to give us hope and then not just dash it to the ground, but spit on us in the process.
I just want to grab the Troll hammer and pound them into a red-colored mush. I swear, if they really go through with this and it doesn't get reversed, I'm going to have my name engraved on the sidewalk outside of UPN as I walk up and down with my picket sign.

Much more angry - rage would not be too strong a word - than yesterday, and not getting any better
I had been reading the other boards and some people are saying what a brillant plot twist a Tara death, Willow big bad thing would be.
Yes that's right, BRILLANT except for it takes NO imagination. I mean people have been calling these two things since the BEGINNING of the season. THAT is how suspenseful and imaginative it is.
That's right - it's brillant. Because watching the Scoobies suffer for no real reason other than SHOCK value is amazingly good television.
Destroying characters that people love and what many love about them is extremely good television. Yep. It's all about entertainment right?
Look, if I wanted just to be entertained, I would play Freecell. Somewhere this show moved beyond entertaining for me and became something I loved. The point is the characters. It is a CHARACTER driven show. I love these chracters. And yes they happen to entertain me, but that's because I love them. I want to cheer them on. I cry with them when they hurt. I get all happy and giddy when good things happen to them.
I...am a fan, dammit. and I have NO clue where these other people are coming from.
