I want to say kittens, that I am very proud of our community. Whether through denial, skeptism (healthy) or acceptance, we are dealing as a community with stunning news. I love this community and it has meant everything to me to provide this space for all of you. I cried this morning not because of Tara and what could happen to her but to bringing pain to my community.

And I want to tell you that no matter what happens, we had this and that can never be taken away from us. And I want to make you a guarantee, that either way, if this remains as is or changes, the kitten will go on in some form even if it means it will be completely removed from Buffy.

And I still have a little faith in Joss. Chin up!

I've never posted here but I do post other places so some of you might have read some of my post.

If Tara dies and Willow goes bad then all of Hercs pre season spoilers would have been quite accurite wouldn't they? That means Herc has some one in the high ups of Buffy right? Something just seems wrong with that.

I don't want Tara dead but if ME does a time warp to correct all the bad that has been the last part of season 6 I'll be sick to my stomache at how stupid and untalented the Buffy writers are even more then I already am. Anya or Hallie's power of the wish is more believable since the LOD's time desortion hasn't been a time mechine and Buffy could go all the way back to at least be able to get her Mother to the Hospital in time to stop the brian aneriziem and not just back to the wedding.

I'm a huge Xander fan and I want Anya to be the BSD because of what it would mean to giving him some angst for the next season (since I don't want him to be the BSD!!). But ME has made Tara very close to all the women on Buffy this season. It has worried me considably.

And Tara did end up being used Mysically in the real season 4 finale. I don't think that bodes well for Tara.

I just hope that Tara's death will be able to be undone though the power of The Wish. But that seems kinda a plot device too unless either Anya or Xander dies. I don't see how Anya would allow a wish to kill Xander in the end. So it would have to be her.

I guess Joss' sick mind has infected mine since this is all I thought about and pretty much talked about with ppl on the net today.

We don't know at which point the shooting will happen, right? (if we do and it's not by the end, my post will be pointless, but what the hell? So is Tara's death!!!) Anyway, I was just thinking that maybe Joss can be sick enough to spread false spoiler and by the end of the episode, Tara would be in bed bleeding to death. The episode would end showing us both Tara and Buffy shot and Tara obviously looking a hell of a lot wrose than Buffy. That would pretty much make us "I believe it when I see it" people sure of what happens. Willow getting home and finding them and crying holding her etc, would definitely help.

Next episode begins as if Tara really died and at some point they'd show her in the hospital or something.... how sick would that be? I think it's possible...... I've learned this afternoon that Joss is capable of anything!

On other boards people have complained that Tara is one-dimensional. I don't get that argument. Okay, she's Willow's girlfriend. Right. But we've been treated to an entire episode about Tara and her past. Can you say the same for other characters? Honestly, we don't know that much about Xander. We really don't know that much about Anya. And even Willow is sketchy sometimes. But I have to believe there's a reason why Joss and company have made a point to stress how much of an outsider Tara feels. I just have to believe it's because he has more in store for her. I see that the writers have slowly been drawing Tara in, making her an integral part of the group, and that's gotta be for a reason.

If I'm in Serious Denial, then I would like to stay there. I might even build a resort. Anyone want to stay a while?

Vengeance demons have the power to grant any wish made to them, good or evil. Though I do think there has to be real pain and feeling behind the wish.

It is negative but if all is done because Anya or someone makes a wish that causes the angst then all Anya has to do is destroy her pendant or for someone to destroy Hallies or maybe kill D'Hoffrin(Sp?).

Bob - ITA, a reset button is totally lame. But there is a whole part of me - frankly, most of me - that just doesn't give a damn how lame it is.

If that means ME lets me down with a lame story, then so be it. They've been damn near perfect for six years, and I don't expect lame plots from ME. I guess they have something planned that isn't totally lame.

First things first:

I love this board. I just got home and read this spoiler thread. Seeing 16 pages made me worry, and reading all the posts on the thread made me understand why. But what I saw on this thread was the most intelligent, thoughtful and sensative posts I've found in the Buffy community. I know I haven't been here for long, (I'm still looking forward to becoming a floating rose!) but I have really gone to love this board. And to love the Willow/Tara relationship even more.

I tend to agree with the people who wonder if these might be possible false storylines. (Though I really appreciate AngelX for being sensative about the whole ordeal.)

I just can't see that the whole season will end in such tragedy. It just seems cheap. This season has been really dark, but when I heard that the theme was "oh grow up" for the season, I thought it would end a little bit more lighthearted than last season. I mean, growing up is painful, but it can also be funny. Particularly when your looking back over periods of your life when you were being really dramatic and realize that it was just a little bump in the road.

I've had real faith in the writers, and I'm not going to dismiss them out of hand. Everything I've heard in terms of spoilers this past week has seemed like a week out of a soap opera.

God, this is all completely heart-wrenching.

The problem with spoilers is that they always exaggerate, so maybe it is possible that Tara does die, but is brought back either by magic or medicine within an episode. Often spoilers are true, but they're very economical with that truth.

I don't know, maybe it's just the case that Amber doesn't want to do another season of BtVS? But then there are other ways of letting her leave the show - killing Tara is just WRONG.

Man, what an up and down day. I wake up and see the Willow/Tara make up spoiler which just made my day. Then I go off and see the movie "We Were Soldiers" (which incidently Marc Blucas is in) and come back and my world is suddenly shattered by this news. I went through shock, utter depression, anger, and denial. I then decided to get off the computer to clear my head.

After thinking these spoilers through and reading what some other posters have suggested, I still feel rattled, but confident that this is NOT the end of Tara. Like BBovenguy, I think that these are either false spoilers created by ME, or they are true, but something happens that changes the course of events (time travel or Anya changing what happened).

With all of the interviews I've read and other spoilers I've seen, it makes no sense that they would kill off Tara or make her death permanent. I'm reserving judgement on these spoilers until I read the wildfeed for that particular episode and then watch the episode.

Thank you AngelX for breaking this sad news to us in the way you did. I appreciate it.

If what these spoilers happen and Tara doesn't come back, then I'm still undecided as to whether I will watch Buffy anymore. I started watching it with OMWF, and it was the character of Tara I really loved. I've since watched all of the FX reruns and I love everything about Buffy, but with Tara gone I'm not sure if I could enjoy Buffy anymore.

Anyways, I just wanted to end this rambling by reminding all you Kittens to stay strong and remember the mantra. The Joss as well as the writers love Tara. How can they get rid of her just like that?

*sigh* I don't know what to say, I'm just so heartbroken. I read the news earlier in the day, before I went to work. The second I got home I came here, desperately hoping something had changed. Perhaps an early "April Fools" joke. No such luck. I'm just so sad. Tara was the reason I started watching in the first place. And I can't share my sadness with anyone else but the Kittens. Everyone else would just say "she's just a character, Amber doesn't die". And that's true. But it feels like a spirit is dying. Does that make sense? I tend to ramble and babble when I'm sad. Bear with me. I take comfort in the fact that (as far as we know) we get W/T togetherness before the fact, but still. I've never gotten this caught up in television show, television show romance or character. Maybe I'll be able to think more rationally in the morning. Right now I just needed to get this off my chest, to people who understand. Sorry to be a downer. *Sigh*

Heh and let's not forget that it was done in Witchblade too. The whole season finale sucked because they did the same thing. They gave Pezzini a choice of whether or not she wanted to turn back time and start over again. So basically the whole season was for naught. So NOT liking that idea.

[edited to add: Just watched Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and, since someone mentioned Marc Blucas, I about swallowed my tongue when I saw Marc Blucas in this movie made up as a psycho Fred from the Scooby Doo movie. It was hysterical! And Eliza Dushku in the tightest leather outfit I've ever seen. Alright...done being off topic...it was just something I noticed.]

Well yeah that was a sleepless night as I predicted. All I can still say is that I do not buy the spoiler as written and it seems far from inevitable that, even given there might be accuracy there, that Tara will not be carried forward as a character.

As a side note I just stuck my head into Essence of Amber which was last updated 8th March (though it says that was a Tuesday it was actually a Friday.) This date might be significant as I believe that one of the Mod's mentioned that Michele graciously held off with her spoiler and that the mod in question had slept on it - which would take the origin date back to the 8th? I may be mistaken there but Little Willow's Current Message to Amber is "Curiouser and Curiouser."

Now that might be a message that has been there a while, I do not visit often enough to know - or Little Willow may not of known of this spoiler... or it means nothing, or something entirely different altogether.

But if this a reaction to the spoilers then it is not a reaction that strikes fear into my heart. I leave you to draw your own conclusions... though I will personally be keeping an eye on that site as much as this.

I have to admit to a morbid curiousity about seeing Will's reaction to Tara's death and in particular what she's going to do to Warren. (Keeping in mind that I think it all has to be undone.) I was commenting to my partner after Dead Things that I saw Warren as being sort of a dark, twisted mirror of Willow, herself. I have a feeling that there's going to be a lot of projecting of Willow's own feelings of guilt about Tara and everything that happened as she has her revenge on him.

Besides, if they take her power as far as AngelX is hinting at, then I can't imagine how she could be saved from it. Which is another reason to think it would all have to be undone.

I'm actually not terribly fond of "Turn back time and take it all back" stories, myself. But if it does end with Anya's death/sacrifice, there is a really nice symmetry with The Wish.

And it's a chance to answer an awful lot of questions people have been talking about all season, and as such has the chance to be an fascinating character study.

Some of those are questions (would Will go bad, what if Spike got de-chipped, etc) that can only be answered if there is a way to undo everything. Assuming they are actually planning to have any characters left for next season, that is.

IcicleDyke -- I just wanted to quickly acknowledge your post in response to mine. Things are extremely hectic and crazed around these parts and I didn't want you to think you hadn't been heard. I don't think it's horrible to not know something. There's many things I don't know. What's more important to me is how willing I (or anyone) is to asking questions and being honest and being willing to open our minds and hearts. I've known about it since Thursday the 7th, for what it's worth. I'm just glad I got the first draft of my book done before it hit.

Well, I'm a bit of a lurker at the essence board and it's been mentioned that LW in fact goes completely unspoiled. So, I doubt she knows/knew or anything else about what is/will/could be/might happen. And I also suggest not emailing her. She might be a bit peeved if someone spills this to her!quote:

Yeah, I did a lot of thinking about that.

In the end, it was an act of defiance, both against the spoiler and the fact that it was threatening to dampen my finishing my book.
