Very powerful episode. I definitely felt bad for Anya. She was so happy to finally be getting married to Xander and then it all came crashing down.

Loved the W/T interaction. Most everything's been mentioned, so I won't repeat. There were some specific things that Tara did that I really enjoyed and I haven't seen them mentioned, so here goes...

While the camera was on Anya, when Tara was buttoning her into her dress, there were a number of times that you could see Tara's head shift so she was looking at Willow. She was obviously having such a hard time focusing on Anya.

Loved her rolled eyes and raised eyebrows when Anya is talking (about wanting to see Xander and then seeing him without the dress on) and she and Willow are reflected in the mirror. She was adding such fun punctuation to what was being said. I also thought that it looked almost like Willow and Tara were brushing shoulders at times in that scene.

I laughed at loud at the cut away shot to Tara when Buffy started making up the excuse about the minister having to do a C-Section. It was so clear that she was astounded at how blatantly obvious it was that Buffy was making something up off the top of her head. But she backed Buffy up anyway, even though she didn't actually know why Buffy was stalling.

I also thought it was funny when Tara was chasing Anya down the hall, and when Anya stopped, Tara sort of had to shift and go by her on the side since she couldn't seem to stop immediately. She practically skidded to a stop. Guess Tara just isn't all that used to running around in heels.

So there were some Tara gems that I hadn't seen mentioned that I though merited a shout out. Just didn't want to rehash what everyone else has said.

I also thought it was a great episode and I felt bad for both Anya and Xander. I know most people just hate Xander for what he did but with his bad past family experiences I understand why he would be scared. I don't think he should have left her like that though. And poor Anya. I really hope she doesn't go back to her demon ways.
Looking good for Willow and Tara!!! I totally didn't catch that little boob touch/graze thing that Willow did until someone pointed it out! and I love that the picture was put into the rotation of the pics at the bottom of the page!

Six degrees of Ellen D. anyone? The guy who played Uncle Rory also played Ellen Morgans dad on her old show. It's funny how the writers manage to give secondary characters so much life and spirit. I for one would love to see a spin off starring Harmony, Clem and Dreg.

Just wanted to add that I have no idea why Clem was even invited to the wedding in the first place. Don't get me wrong. Clem is great!

But.. umm.. wasn't he Spike's friend? The first time either Xander or Anya met him was in OAFA. I would have figured the wedding invitations had already been mailed out by that time. RSVPs received and all. And I know they were all trapped in the house together for a few days but I don't quite think that constitutes an invitation for Clem. We didn't see Richard or Sophie at the wedding.

It was good to see him there, though. He's a cool guy. I hope he makes future appearances!

Maybe Clem was a last-minute invite on Xander's part? Perhaps there was merriment and camaraderie off-screen in OAFA and they bonded or something. Just like the guy to want to mess up carefully laid plans/seating chart with a spur-of-the-moment invite (speaking from experience here!).

Or maybe it's late, I'm grasping at straws, and I should go to bed....

Hi, sorry if this is a bit out of left field, but I was looking at some screen-caps of this episode, and I wondered if anyone could help me answer this question: who is actually the tallest between Aly and Amber? I've read somewhere that Aly is 5'6, and Amber is 5'4, but their height diference is constantly changing in every episode! I keep trying to peek at their shoes, to see if they're wearing heels, but that just confuses me even more!! Sorry if this topic has been addressed already, but it just made me think about it again seeing the caps frfom 'Hells Bells'.
Thanks for any help!!

cesario21 - I don't have a definitive answer to your question about relative heights between Amber and Aly, but it's always been my impression that Amber is a couple of inches taller than Aly. The clearest place where I saw this confirmed was in OMWF during Tara's song. You can clearly see as they are walking off the bridge that Willow is in heels, and then when Tara is dancing she's in sandals. That's the reason why when they spin into the bedroom, they are practically the same height. At any rate, that's just what I've noticed in watching the show...hope it helps.

So many things I could say about this episode, but most of it has been said before. Just a few things I want to add.

I really liked the episode because although it was mostly about Xander and Anya, all of the main characters had their own little storyline - Willow meets Tara again, Buffy meets Spike who tries to make her jealous, and even Dawn is having a nice time, especially with that young demon. I like Dawn so much better now, I could understand her whining with all she had to go through, but it was somehow annoying.

Nick and Emma - brillian acting. I was amazed, especially by Nick. I felt so sad for Xander when he told Anya that, in his visions, it wasn´t her he was hating.

Anya going back to vengeance - I think that she is tempted. She is so tired, not just from crying, but from being a human, and becoming a demon again would make things so much easier. But just like most of you I don´t think that she can still so the job.

Xander´s behaviour - Just like Willow, I can´t hate him, I just feel sorry for him. I´m sure he really loves Anya, and he really wants to be with her, but he is scared to death that it won´t work, and that their marriage will end up like his parents´. He doesn´t want to hurt her, that´s why he can´t marry her. Sounds strangely logical.

It has been discussed lately that Xander/Nick has gained some weight. Someone suggested that that might have been intentionally, and I think so now, too. Maybe it´s just me, but with all the weight he has gained, Xander has already started to look like his father.

Another thought that I had today was that there is another parallel between all of the Scoobies this season. All of them hurt somebody who seriously loves them and who entrusted them with their heart because of issues they haven´t dealt with yet. Buffy hurt Spike by using him because she wanted to feel again, and no matter if he´s evil or not, he truly loves Buffy, and being used by her must have hurt him. Willow hurt Tara with the spell. Now Xander hurt Anya by not marrying her.

And last but not least - the W/T scenes were really sweet, and they are so in love with each other, but they are still far from being together again. It was obvious from the look on Tara´s face when Anya practiced her vows and asked Xander to let her take care of his heart, and Willow asked the same question with her eyes. Tara isn´t ready to trust Willow again, she is still too hurt. There will have to be a real talk first, and an apology, and then she will consider it. But I´m sure it will come, and I can´t wait for it.

And of course I recognized Ellen Morgan´s dad rigth away!

Hm...Something I just picked up on. In the second to last scene, when Willow, Buffy and Dawn are talking about how sad they are for Anya...WHERE IS TARA?!?!?!?! I mean, she was the MOH, so the obvious place for her to be is wtih Anya. But Anya is with D'Hoffryn in some alter-demon universe. Wouldn't it make sense for Tara to be with the other three? I just think that, after those wonderful W/T moments, that it's way beyond weird that she's nowhere to be seen in that scene!

I think it makes sense that Tara wasn't there, since B, D and W live together. So they are like at home, unable to go sleeping and talk about what happened. Tara is probably at her place (wherever that is).

I guess, regarding Anya, D'Hoffryn probably invited her to come with her and, heartbroken as she is, it seemed as good a place to go to as any other place. Plus, it definitely is a place that doesn't remind her of Xander, so maybe she is more comfortable there then with any of the scoobies.

OK, wow, that was a great episode. I was so amazed how far W/T got already again.*edited for spoiler* I would actually think that after the W/T goodness of this episode, there has to be some major relapse for Willow following. It seems too easy, with respect to getting over the whole addiction. But, things are looking good...

first and foremost:
my brother didn't tape it right and i missed stuff!! grr argh

i'm gonna jump all over the place here

when xander went to the hotel thingamajig at the end i kind of expected tara to be there too, i mean, we have *NO* clue where the girl is living

i too wondered why the hell clem was at the wedding, it should also be noted that he was on the harris side of the guests

spike was cute in this epp (omg did i just say that??)
and the dresses are radioactive...

i think you guys are high on boobage
no, really

i loved that willow touched tara's hair though, boy that girl has guts

and tara was SO holding willow's hands - and *caressing* them!
yay!

but the look on tara's face when anya said that stuff about her heart broke mine
ouch...
but it did show love along with the pain, so thats good

when willow was talking at the end, she said 'she' the whole time and i really thought she was making an inner parrallel to tara

all for now

As Clem’s agent I feel the need to speak up: he was invited because he’s an original Sunnydale resident. He was the only one who enthusiastically raised his hand when Buffy, in her stand-up comic relief, asked who was from this town. That had me in stitches (got a wacky sense of humor) just like his “Good Party” line in OAFA.

This is the third time that someone mentions a spoiler from an upcoming episode in a discussion thread. I´m sorry, but for me, this is a spoiler.

I really try to stay unspoiled, which means that, except for the promo for the next episode, I don´t want to know anything about any upcoming episode. If this is not considered to be a spoiler, please let me know, and I will consider not to read the discussion thread anymore - which would be a pity, since I really love the discussion threads.

I definitely think so. I started thinking that after he was eating all those chips in the last ep, and after the whole cummerbund thing in this ep (which I loved--that stuff about everyone being able to see the place where his shirt meets his pants, and "I must wear Das Cummerbund!" Hee!) they're definitely going somewhere with the weight gain.

JodiMnstr, thanks for pointing out all those great Tara moments. I loved them all too! Sigh...there can never be too many Tara moments. Or too much pointing out of Tara moments.

oh dear... poor anya... poor xander... i don't know who i feel more sorry for.

xander didn't call the wedding off because he was afraid of what being married would do to him... he was afraid of what he would do to hurt her... *sigh*

i thought it was cute that buffy adimtted that seeing spike with his date made her jealous and that it hurt... makes me feel a bit better about the way that she treated him - like... there was some feeling behind the fact that she was using him...

i liked the cute little willow/tara moments... i see a make up scene in their future

is it wrong of me to still think that those two looked stunning? even in those awful dresses? maybe i'm just used to the wacky wardrobe! lol.

You're right ellenfan, that is a spoiler and that should not be in this thread, I'll repost what I posted in the first post of this thread...

Please do not post any spoilers for future episodes in this thread, those belong in the spoiler thread.

I loved this episode. I rarely cry during tv and I almost did this time.

Willow and Tara were so cute. Those dresses were hideous but they still managed to look absolutely gorgeous.

Spike and Buffy were great. They need to put Spike in the light more often. He looks GOOD! I also liked that he gave a genuine laugh instead of a snerky one.

Casey Sanders is awesome. He really managed to make me hate him when he was Mr. Harris.

Liked that Cousin Carol and Krelvin were making with the eyes. Clem, Squiddly, and Horn Boy were all really adorable. Dawn looked pretty, too.

Felt so bad for Anya and Xander. At first I was so furious with him but then someone posted on BCAS that Xander wasn't afraid of becoming his family but that he already was them. He is a goofball like Uncle Rory, has self esteem issues like his mom, and is constantly putting Anya down in front of everyone like his father.(ex.The Body:"Sorry your mom died.""Anya, ever the wordsman." I hated that.) He wants to find himself and I think its a good idea before he marries.

Great ep. Much better than last weeks. All in all, this is my favorite season. YAY!

Oh, yeah. Only lacking two things:

Special Guest Stars:
Anthony Stewart Head as Giles
Bruce Campbell as Uncle Rory.

And another "6 Degrees of Aly"; the actress playing Xander's mom (Lee Garlington) was also in "American Pie 2" as the stunned mom in the opening scene (Jim and her daughter, doing their thang*G*).

Surely she was in both projects just to be closer to Aly...I know that's what *my* motivation would be.

There are alot of people who don't realize that even if you don't give the details people can usually figure what the context is. I remember on another message board before As You Were came on that someone mentioned that they wondered if Riley would ever show up again. Someone responded with a "Guess you haven't been reading spoilers" then put spoiler space and then the spoiler. Of course, everyone could figure out that there was a spoiler regarding Riley's return just by that first sentence.

Oooops! I complain about spoilers and then write one myself - sorry for that.

Warduke, thanks for pointing out that what was written actually was a spoiler. I really wasn´t sure about that. Maybe you should give some examples anywhere, for example in the FAQs.

TaraWannabe, don´t worry, since I had already read that same spoiler twice, it wasn´t really a spoiler for me anymore. It´s just hard to fight my curiosity and not go to the spoiler thread and read all about it when people continue to bring it up. But I can be strong - strong like an amazon.
