Hear that Baby? You're my always.
Does anyone else feel like tonight is christmas eve and Leoff's Wildfeed is like 100 waiting christmas presents all wrap together?
Err. Have. To. Stop. Wasting. Board. Space. With. Irrelevent. Posts.
I can't wait for this wildfeed, all for some darn hope! I want something to sing about... please leoff give me something to sing about....
You know what's really twisted? I'm a total little spoiler whore, will read everything, but will *not* read the WildFeed for Buffy.
Nope. Can't do it. I'll read it for Angel, but I just can't bring myself to totally spoil each and every detail of a new BtVS episode a mere 36 hours before it'll air here in lovely Maryland. I'm a silly, twisted boy....
Then again, I'll just use some of that good ol' Dr. Garfield optimism and attribute it to the fact that I may still have some shred of willpower left! Hooray for e.!!
love and witchie-chix,
e.
BTW, EricAlan69, I'm hailing from MD, too (it's amazing how many MD people are on this board). However, unlike you, I have no willpower and will be clinging to Leoff's wildfeed page like grim death.
oh yeah this is soooo paraphrased and boring so bear/bare with me.
-- buffy's house. buffy goes to the door and lets tara in. they hug like two very close sistuhs (awwww). Tara asks buffy how she's doin and she says blah blah and then after that little exchange buffy asks tara how she's holdin up and tara says "the world gulp comes to mind"
-- at the same time we see willow prettying herself up for, umm, gee, i wonder who???
-- willow comes down and buffy sees her and she stutters and stumbles and ends up yelling "coming!" so that tara and willow can have some time together.
will: hey
tara: hi
will: how are you?
tara: fine thanks, how are you
will: great i mean fine.
tara: you look
will: great.
tara: good
will: oh
tara: i'm gonna go get a drink
will: yeah good. k
(major paraphrasing here)
--tara makes it to the kitchen and buffy is filling a glass with water, tara takes it and says "oh thanks." Buffy looks at her like sayin "heyyyyy!"
--spike comes in i guess one of her friends had mentioned something to him about buffy's party. Then xander and anya come in shoving a new guy in front of buffy whilst spikey gets kinda jealous and tara begins to play with him sayin " oh i think he's kinda cute, dont you think he's kinda cute? i mean i'm not the best person to judge..."
{i thought was funny}
spike is all trying to get into buffy's pants at the party and tara finds them just as spike grabs buffy's hand and pulls it towards his umm well yeah...and then buffy and spikey seperate. spikey says i had a muscle spasm..
tara: a muscle spasm?
spikey: what? it's a thing!
-- they all are lounging around playin poker and spike shoots a comment to buffy and then tara asks spikey really loud.
tara: so how's that muscle spasm?!
--after the all nighter the guests realize that they want to leave but for some reason they cant.
-- tara is makin breakfast willow walks in and tara says that she didnt plan for sleep over and then they talk about how weird it feels. Willow says that she has class and wants to leave but for some reason she dont and tara says that it's like she wants to leave but she doesnt want to and then willow smiles and says "yeah, exaclty."
-- the gang talks about it and then they all run after dawn who looks very guilty but dummy didnt do it on purpose it was a vengence demon that tricked her into makin a wish...we dont find this out till later.
--buffy says magic. so they all look at tara and we see willow who's like shakin nearly and tara agrees but says that she didt bring any stuff to work with and buffy says that they dont have nuffin cuz they got rid of it for willow and willow says that she still has stuff. tara looks upset now as does buffy. tara tells willow that she's gonna do it all by herself.
--tara does her magic but buffy had slayed a demon who's curse is to go back into his sword so when tara did her spell she released the demon instead of releasing the binding on the scoobies. he's a deadly sucker too.
--anya begins to go freaky and there is a moment when anya is so desperate that she wants willow to do somethign and get them out of there and xander sides with her and willows all shaky and she sayin no, that she cant. while anya is sayin yes she can but that she wont and willow says that there's not much she coudl do. and xander is sayin that they got willow out of the addiction the last time that they'll get her out again and even spikey is all siding with willow and oh it's a mess and then anya gets up and starts yelling at will and and tara gets in between willow and anya and she tells her to "back off!"
tara: she says no and that's it your not making her do somethign she doesnt want to. and if you try you'll have to go through me first. {swoooon!!!}
[demon vanquished and curse lifted]
-- willow is alone with tara in the kitchen and she's splainin to tara that she had the stuff as like a safety in case it really got bad because she was goin nuts thinking about what if it did got out of hand and willow didnt have her gear and tara let her burble for a while and finally tara was like yeah i get it. She points out that back there it did get bad, really bad and that willow still said "no." Willow smiled as did tara.
cut to other stuff that's not willow and tara related.
finito.
yeah i'm sure i missed some small stuff and god knows i did this quite quickly but i'm sure leoff will fill in the rest of the gaps

A Closed Mind is a Wonderful Thing to Lose
Buffy 6.14 FAQ
What’s it called?
“Older and Far Away.”
Who’s responsible?
Teleplay is credited to Drew Greenberg (“Smashed”).
What does TV Guide say?
“Lonely Dawn feels like the odd-girl out when the Scooby Gang throws a party in honor of Buffy's birthday, leading to a fateful wish that leaves the Slayer and her friends in a fix. Clem: James C. Leary. Richard: Ryan Browning. Sophie: Laura Roth. Hallie: Kali Rocha.”
What is TV Guide not telling us?
When Tara accidentally unleashes a teleporting demon inside the house, some of the gang – especially Anya – pressures Will to use magic to save the day.
The big news?
Despite rumors to the contrary, no one learns of the Spike-Buffy sex this week.
The less-big news?
It turns out vengeance demons punish more than just cheaty males – cheaty males were just Anyanka’s thing.
Ah. Is Halfrek involved in the lockdown?
‘Tis she who grants Dawn’s wish.
Do Spike and Halfrek have a connection?
When they meet near episode’s end, they seem to recognize each other. She even calls him “William.” One senses a sexual history.
Any non-scoobies come to the party?
If one excludes Halfrek, three. A handsome co-worker of Xander’s, Spike’s not-so-handsome pal Clem (whom we met playing poker with Spike in “Life Serial”), and Buffy’s Doublemeat coworker Sophie.
Does Dawn’s stealing come to light?
Yep. And imagine Anya’s reaction when unsold Magic Box inventory is discovered in Dawn’s room.
The Nerds of Doom sit it out again?
They do.
Any sign of Fantasico?
Nope.
Is the Buffy-Spike sex a thing of the past?
They don’t do it this week, but one senses Buffy hasn’t closed the door on the relationship yet. (It bears noting, however, that Spike still sports a colossal black eye from the pummelling the slayer gave him last week.)
Does Dawn invite Spike to the party?
No. He finds out about it from Willow.
Whose idea is it to invite Tara?
Buffy’s. But she clears it through Will first.
What’s the what with Will and Tara?
Things are awkward at first, but they grow considerably friendlier as the night wears on.
Is there the touching and the kissing?
Not this week.
Does Will go back on the pipe?
That would be telling.
What’s the what with Xander and Anya?
Anya freaks out worse than anyone else and starts to unbutton her top – but Xander stops her. No, Xander! Bad Xander!
What’s great?
Will’s dilemma. Buffy’s growing bond with Tara.
What’s not so great?
Dawn’s whining about always being neglected is the brokenest of records. Also? Absolutely no new “Buffy” next week!
Herc’s rating for “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” 6.14?

(hey, small favor, gang? Next time just link to www.leoffonline.com and not the straight link to the summary itself, as lots of people then bookmark that link and the URL changes every week, then I get lots o mail saying "we can't find it!")
Ah and Herc does not feel the need to go after Angel X this week, hmmm, maybe because like last week, and so many times before, she got all the spoilers correct.
Brian, you got your work cut out for you, I am looking forward to many more details about Willow and Tara.

But Xander - I guess I'll just have to see how it plays out, but I would have expected more from him since he is one of Willow's best friends. Saying that she can use a 'little' magick to bail out their butts is just wrong. With friends like that, you aren't going to stay on the wagon for long. Maybe it will come across differently once I see it, but I was disappointed that he sided with Anya in this situation.

Remember, again, that Willow's problems are a metaphor for drug/alcohol addiction. Anya is that friend who just doesn't quite get the concept of not being able to ever drink/use again (i.e., the whole concept of addiction), and her reaction in regards to it being Willow's fault supports this. You get that kind of blaming & misuderstanding of the disease from some people (even people VERY close to you) in the beginning of recovery.
That Xander backs her up works, too, especially because of the fact that Xander's father is an *actual* alcoholic- it's the blame game (and it also works for him because he's backing up his fiancee'). It may make you want to slap Xander and Anya, but trust me, I went through these EXACT same reactions from people when I first got sober:
"Oh, come on, you can have just *one* beer, can't you?"- a friend.
"Well, no I really can't. I'm addicted to alcohol, and you saw how out of control I got."- me.
"Well, that's your *own* fault for not being more careful!"- same friend.
'Earth-People' don't understand that addiction to something doesn't have a damned thing to do with choice and willpower.
(We call people who don't have the disease of addiction 'earth people', because we're obviously from another planet.)
People are usually glad that you're sober, but when they realize that you cannot be the same person you were before, they resent it. Change sucks.
Sorry for the rant, my Kitties!

How great was it, then, to have Tara show up and stand up for Willow at the crucial moment? If Tara hadn't been there, Willow probably would have given in, and then we'd be on our way down Herc's beloved Dark Willow path. Instead, I think we're well on the way to a W/T reunion.

What was also great was this wasn't Tara hearing from someone else that Willow was doing well, it was Tara getting to see for herself that Willow has come a long way and that she can hold up under very difficult circumstances. Definitely helps to rebuild some of Tara’s trust.
But Bob, if what you say is accurate about Willow giving in eventually, doesn’t that mean there is still an underlying problem. Tara won’t always be around to ‘save’ Willow at the most crucial times. Even if Willow is strong in fighting temptation, won’t she eventually have to address some of her insecurities in order to be able to get out of those situations without Tara’s intervention?
IP: Logged
good golly gee!
by the way, i totally enjoyed this episode. it was very sweet and very good to see those girls together in one room talking. Seeing Tara stutter is about as nervewracking as it is sexy. Amber pulls off both nicely.

Oh, absolutely she will. Willow is by no means out of the woods. She took an important step, but she still has a way to go. I would guess that Tara feels that way as well, since there's been no move on her part to get back together yet.
I've been predicting that we'd have one more episode this season where Willow would be brought to some sort of crisis point, after which she would be recovered enough for her to get back together with Tara. Not fully recovered, because there's no such thing, really, but recovered enough for Tara to feel safe in the relationship again. A fully-formed treatment of the subject would probably spread the story out over several episodes, but considering that this is Buffy the Vampire Slayer and not The Lesbian Witch Hour, I figure one episode's worth is all we'll get.

Instead, I think we're well on the way to a W/T reunion.

posted February 11, 2002 16:14 I knew this business with Willow and magic would come up. I knew that sooner or later there was going to be some sort of predicament where everyone who had been saying "rah rah Willow you can give up magic" would suddenly start picking on her to cast a spell "just one more time." It was inevitable, because Willow's magic so often made things awfully convenient. Willow's problem is that she's constantly feeling insecure and is constantly seeking approval. She never would have gotten hooked on magic if magic wasn't a way she could give people what they wanted and thus have them approve of her.How great was it, then, to have Tara show up and stand up for Willow at the crucial moment? It also defuses a number of rumors / speculation that were spawning from the perception that Tara was not being supportive of Willow.

Even if Willow is strong in fighting temptation, won’t she eventually have to address some of her insecurities in order to be able to get out of those situations without Tara’s intervention?

good golly gee!
by the way, i totally enjoyed this episode. it was very sweet and very good to see those girls together in one room talking.

I thought it was Tara from Leoff's report, he said she did he not?
*editing again:
quote:
"I don't know... I think he looked cute. Don't you think he looked cute?" she asks Spike and Clem, but looks directly at Spike, who glances back in mild surprise. "I think he seems cute" Clem quips.
Yup, she asks, and Tara is the only she present in that scene according to Leoff, he does not mention Anya in that scene and that line sounds much better coming from Tara than Anya.
*editing *again*:
This is what reyna posted:

Then xander and anya come in shoving a new guy in front of buffy whilst spikey gets kinda jealous and anya begins to play with him sayin " oh i think he's kinda cute, dont you think he's kinda cute? i mean i'm not the best person to judge..."
Hmm ok, so Anya is there, but I think it makes more sense for Tara to say it. Why would Anya be addressing Spike? And it just does not sound like an Anya thing to say. Among other things I think she would consider herself a good judge.
Oopsie, a lot of words for just one line. Stopping now.
